𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞╰┈➤ Jason Grace

Team Seaweed Brain and N/N were probably the most well-known sibling duo across Camp Half-Blood with their crazy many similarities.

Children of Poseidon, wielders of water, incredibly talented swordfighters and great friends. They both had sea-swept hair, a tendency to put others first, and that sarcastic, crooked grin. Hotshots, that was the word.

The most (un)suprising thing they shared though, was the many people who were fangirling over them throughout the years.

Y/N herself has had lots of admirers throughout her time at camp; Lee Fletcher, Connor Stoll, some guy from the Ares cabin, even Rachel Elizabeth Dare. But each time the secret came out or the hints were getting too obvious, she had to turn them down. Nicely, of course. She didn't like them like that.

She just kinda... didn't think love was for her.

But then she met him.

Jason Grace.

The one boy who was able to sweep her off her feet and make her feel light-headed in the best way possible. He'd appeared in her life in the months when Percy was missing, the time where she needed comfort the most, and she found that in Jason.

He felt a similar way, because despite him not having any memories of his past life at first, she made him feel welcome and loved. It was... really nice, to have somebody waiting on you. And when he remembered everything, that didn't change.

Jason and Y/N were hanging out in the Zeus cabin, cuddling. He was, much to the daughter of Poseidon's pleasant suprise, staying this entire summer at Camp Half-Blood before going back to Camp Jupiter again. So she'd have him all to herself for the next months.

The two had been dating for a few weeks now. Not a lot, but to them it's already felt like it's been years. They were living the dream, together, and it was amazing.

Since it hasn't been that long, they haven't told anybody so far. No one knew yet. Well... no one besides Piper and Leo anyway. (Come on, those two had the whole idea of setting them up.)

Y/N was focusing on some book Annabeth had apparently recommended to her, not really paying attention to her boyfriend.

Jason rolled over so his head was in her lap, blocking her view of the book. "Hey beautiful."

Y/N stifled a giggle. "Hi."

She put the closed book onto the nightstand, then leaned down and their lips met in a sweet, short kiss. Jason loved kissing Y/N. It always sent a little shock through him (no pun intended), and that faint taste of saltwater and chocolate was addicting.

He was so in love.

"Ahem." Somebody cleared their throat suddenly.

Jason shot up so fast he and Y/N almost hit their heads against one another's. In the doorway stood none other than Percy Jackson, glaring daggers at them and looking ready to scream bloody murder.

"What's going on here?"

"Um" Y/N swallowed, smiling at her brother nervously. "Hi Percy."

The next few days were like hell for Y/N and Jason.

Percy was ridiculously protective. Though Y/N had always been aware of this, she always used to feel sorry for whoever was going to be her future boyfriend and shrugged it off. Now Jason was her boyfriend, and she knew Percy had to get over his big brother instincts.

When Jason waited at Cabin 3's door in the morning to walk Y/N to breakfast, Percy would be up first and shoo him away. Whenever they spent time together Percy would just find a way to interrupt (however he appeared out of thin air was a mystery).

It was incredibly irritating and they were pretty sure they'd die without one another's constant presence soon.

---------------

Both Jason and Y/N sat by the little tables by the beach, a parasol shielding them from the hot summer sun. A picnic date was exactly what they needed. No storm, no Stoll brothers trying to prank them, no chariot crashing from the sky, and best of all, no Percy.

"Oh shoot" Y/N mumbled, rummaging through the basket. Cake, bread and drinks had already been displayed on the table, and Jason was calmly sipping his Pepsi. "I forgot the marmalade." She turned to her boyfriend. "I'll just go get some from the Dining Pavillion, okay?"

"Okay." Jason's face turned red when she kissed his nose. "Be back soon." Y/N quickly jogged off, leaving him alone. Or so he thought.

"Look who we have here" A voice sounded behind Jason.

'Not this again' the son of Jupiter thought as he swallowed and turned around to see Percy eyeing him.

"Uh, hey Percy"

"Have a nice time with Y/N?" Percy asked, his casual tone betraying the unimpressed look in his eyes.

Jason did not like the fact Percy came out of nowhere just to- what did he even want? Tell him to back off of Y/N? But he honestly just wanted to make things right somehow, no matter how annoying it was.

"Listen." The blonde started, clearly uneasy. "I'm sorry. But you don't have a reason to be-"

"-to be mad?" Percy's glare intensified. "After I caught you smooching my sister?"

"Well, we are dating-"

Percy shook his head. "Yeah, apparently, but you didn't tell anybody!"

Jason looked down. He didn't know what to answer to that.

"How long has this been going on?" asked Percy, quietly.

"What?"

"How long has this been going on?" He asked again, harsher this time.

The son of Jupiter snapped out of his silence. "It should be... five or six weeks." Jason answered carefully, not wanting to risk making Percy even more mad if he said it could be more. Granted, he didn't know the exact time, but his girlfriend had most likely noted it in her diary or something.

...One and a half month weren't that bad, right?

Percy was silent for a while. "Look, I just..." He sucked in a breath. "I care a lot about Y/N. Obviously, she's my sister. I shouldn't be mad at either of you, it's her choice who she can date. She's not a child."

Jason shook his head. "No, well, we probably should've told somebody about our relationship first. Especially you. Sorry we were so secretive. But I really, really like Y/N. I promise I'll treat her right."

The son of Poseidon nodded, looking relieved. Jason extended his hand. "So, we're cool, right?"

Percy mustered him, then uncrossed his arms. A grin crawled up his face. "We are." They fist-bumped. He began walking away after mumbling a "later, man".

Jason looked after him before he turned to his Pepsi again and noticed Y/N running up to him with a glass of marmalade in hand. "Hey, Jay!"

As Y/N noticed Percy walking in the distance, she sucked in a breath, smiling apologetically at Jason. "He gave you a hard time?"

"Nah"

"Huh?"

Jason smiled, kissing her lips. "Let's just say he'll leave us alone for now."
