Sacrificing my life for others? It's second nature. I chose this path, working as a detective, because getting justice is the only thing that keeps me grounded. But then there's him. Diego Hargreeves. The relentless vigilante with a superhero complex, the sharp-edged Number Two of the Umbrella Academy. He's dedicated his entire life to saving the world, with or without permission, but he doesn't get what it's like to need a break, to catch a breath, to grieve. With Diego, it's always "one more mission" or "one more bad guy." His way of saving the world is relentless, and there's no "off switch." It's like he doesn't know how to exist without a fight to be had.

Somehow, he's managed to break into my life—uninvited and definitely unexpected. His need to control, his inability to slow down, it makes him infuriating, but it's hard to ignore the pull he has on me. He's complicated, reckless, and utterly impossible, but maybe that's why I can't shake him. I might be chasing justice for my parents, but every time I'm around him, it's a reminder that maybe, just maybe, there's a different kind of fight worth fighting.
