𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐘 𝐓𝐖𝐎- spring break

𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐒𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐘 which also meant spring break for west valley high school, and students were out for the week. every year, the duttons would take a vacation during the week of spring break, but since john and janet are both attending rodeo events in cheyenne, and wyatt and deacon are spending spring break with their friends, bella and dutch are spending their spring break in nashville.

janet, who was visiting the couple, gave bella a folded dress and asked, "so, are you excited about going to nashville with dutch? i know he's never been, you think he'll enjoy it?"

bella smiled and nodded as she placed a folded dress in the suit case. "yes, there's so much i want to show him, including music row, and the ryman. i know he's a rocker, but you never know. he just might like it."

"well, sweetheart, all i ask is that you two be safe, and use your heads. especially at night. you two are in a city in which you are not familiar, anything could happen to you both." janet said as bella packed her makeup bag

"we'll be careful, mom." bella reassured. "remember daddy, wyatt, and deacon taught me how to defend myself? besides, dutch has taught me a little bit of karate as well. i don't want you to worry." she added as she closed the suitcase

"i know sweetheart." janet smiled. "i'm your mother, i'm going to worry."

"if you didn't worry, i would think there's something wrong." bella teased

"you and dutch have a great time and make lots of memories, okay?" janet smiled. "okay, mama." bella smiled

bella and dutch arrived in nashville, hand in hand. as soon as they left the airport, they got their rental car and drove to the hotel. upon walking into their room, the couple had a view of music row.

"this is beautiful." bella smiled as the couple walked into their hotel room and the bright lights from downtown nashville shone through the windows as it was now dark outside. after placing her bag by the closet, she laid down on the bed.

"not as beautiful as you." dutch said as he laid down on the bed beside her.

"thank you honey." bella smiled as she turned on her side to face him. "are you hungry? we probably shouldn't go out and get food though since it's so late though. we could order room service."

"starving." dutch said

after ordering room service and eating, and a steamy shower session with dutch, the couple laid in bed, completely nude and undone, trying to catch their breath as the only thing heard was the soft sound of the radio playing.

"this is always my favorite part." dutch said as he held bella close to him

"mine too." bella smiled as she gently caressed his abdominal muscles.

"if there's one thing i love, it's hearing you moan my name like crazy." dutch said as he held his girlfriend close.

"you're gross." bella said. "you better hope and pray no one calls down to the front desk to complain, anyway, i love you. get some rest sweetheart. i'll see you in the morning." she smiled as she kissed her boyfriend

"goodnight, babe. i love you too." dutch smiled as he kissed her lips and held her naked body close to his.

later that night, dutch softly groaned as he lightly stirred in the bed. for the past few nights, he's had the same reoccurring nightmare. the night kreese choked johnny and nearly tried killing them all.

he tossed and turned trying not to wake bella up, as she was sound asleep. dutch woke up and sat up as he took a deep breath, trying to slow his heart rate. he ran a hand over his face and looked around the dark room, then felt bella stir and slowly wake up, lovingly placing a hand on his arm and stroking it.

"sweetheart, are you alright?" bella whispered as she rubbed his arm

"yeah." dutch sighed as he laid back down beside Bella as she played with his fingers. "i'll be fine. go back to sleep, beautiful."

bella smiled softly as she softly placed a kiss on his cheek. she laid there facing him. as she closed her eyes, he laid there with his eyes wide open.

"bella?" dutch whispered as he wrapped his arm around her body, and laid his head next to hers on her pillow. "mhm?" bella said sleepily

"for the past few nights, i've been having reoccurring nightmares. they're been haunting me. i just didn't know how to tell you." dutch said

"what about, sweetheart?" bella asked as she stroked his cheek

"the night of the tournament. sometimes our brutal karate practice." dutch said. "if we wouldn't do what kreese wanted us to, he made us do push ups on our knuckles."

bella placed her hand on her boyfriend's cheek and stroked his cheekbone with her thumb. "i'm so sorry honey."

"i feel so bad for the way i've treated people. even though i've changed, they still look at me as if i'm a monster."

"dutch, listen to me, it's not your fault. it's kreese's fault. healing takes time. there's no timeline for healing. if you have a rough day, and you need to cry or even scream... despite what you were taught, you're not weak for doing so. it's cathartic and cleansing. but know this, which i know you do, i'm here for you. i love you with all of my heart and soul." bella said. "try and get some rest now, and remember, they're just dreams, it's not real. i promise."

"thanks bella. i love you so much. what would i do without you?" dutch asked as he kissed her forehead

"crash and burn." bella chuckled. "goodnight honey. i love you."

the bright tennessee sun shone through the windows of the hotel room. dutch slowly opened his eyes and yawned. he looked at the time on the alarm clock on the nightstand and saw it was 8:30 am.

turning to his side, he found bella sound asleep, and he held her body close to his, and he placed passionate kisses along her neck and shoulder. the beautiful brunette slowly opened her eyes and softly yawned and turned to find her boyfriend smiling at her.

"good morning." bella smiled as she rested her forehead against his

"good morning, beautiful." dutch smiled smiled as he laced his fingers with her's.

"how do you feel? are you alright?" bella said as she looked into his beautiful blue eyes

"i'm fine, babe." dutch said

"you wanna go get breakfast then go sight see?" bella asked

dutch raised a brow and smirked as he rolled an top of her petite frame. "i was thinking something more along the lines of, round 2 and a shower."

"round 2 and a shower huh?" bella smirked as she flipped him over. "i can work with that."

after the couple left the hotel, they walked down music row, then visited the ryman auditorium, the country music hall of fame and more.

"i've had the best time with you, honey." bella smiled as she and dutch were once again walking down music row

"i have too beautiful." dutch smiled. "even though i'm not one for country music, i have really enjoyed it. it was nice to get away from the valley."

the couple continued walking down music row, and a kind middle aged couple took their picture for them. In the picture, bella had her arms wrapped around dutch's waist, and he had his arms wrapped around her both had loving smiles on their faces.

after spending a few more hours in the city, the couple decided to go back to the hotel. they had a steak dinner down in the hotel restaurant, then went back to their room.

"this has definitely been a vacation to remember." bella smiled as keith whitley's homecoming '63 played on the radio. "but, when i'm with you, i'm happy i love you."

"bella, i'll follow you anywhere." dutch smiled as he caressed her cheeks with his thumb. "i love you too. i promise you, i'll never leave you. i'll walk through this world with you, through the ups and the downs."

"i know honey." bella smiled as she placed her hand on his cheek. "i love you too, and i will gladly walk through any world with you."
