"So, you're really here?"

"Obviously!"

"Who's taking care of your woman?"

"Kaiser."

Kathleen glanced at his motorcycle and back at him. She's been hanging with this guy since the day he started dating Samantha but she really can't stand his guts until now. They locked eyes for a moment until they realized it was a stupid thing to do.

"Where's Christian?" He asked.

"Already gone to work. We need an early start. We better get going." Kathleen snorted.

"Perhaps we should."

Kathleen closed the gate and made her way to her car. Takumi will be waiting at the shop around the same time. She offered to give him a ride since it'll be handful if they travel apart. She left without waiting for Scott. He'll eventually catch up.

* * *

Takumi shove his slender fingers at the back of his neck as he was stealing glances at Scott's who's sitting a table away from them.

"So, you really decided to tag him along?" He chuckled.

"I thought you said we'll need him?"

"Yeah yeah! I know what I said, but this is the same person who betrayed your friend. Aren't you concerned of whether he's gonna betray us as well when he knows everything?"

Kathleen's brows met. "How did you know that?"

Hands hanging loose beside her tattered jeans, she waited for his explanation. Takumi took his phone out and showed her screenshots of a site published by the same person, MaTet.

Her lips parted when she read everything she wrote. It's like she's reading Samantha's mind. She made all of her friends anonymous but the details are all in there. Kathleen glared at Scott.

"No, he can't be the one spreading this story. He's clearly a moron but not to this extent... I hope."

"I know what you're thinking, but it's not him."

She watched the thought cross Takumi's face and her eyes batted, losing track of what's going on.

"We need to find the person behind these articles. I believe she's connected to Samantha or else she won't be able to write all of these."

"Connected in what way?"

He smirked. He must have known it would make more sense if they find the person first.

Kathleen's chin rose and her brows drew down. "I assume you have the idea where to start?"

* * *

"I don't think having you here would make much of a difference." Kathleen snapped, eyeing Scott through the rear mirror. He was only sitting idly behind her and seems to be avoiding any conversation.

"Question your friend then." He sighed and glanced over at Takumi who volunteered driving the car.

Takumi seem to have the idea who MaTet is and where to find her. She doesn't know how or maybe he already knew her to begin with.

"The heck. My mind is going nuts!"

"He's with us, isn't he? Can't you two just get along?"

Takumi began but fell silent as soon as he sees Kathleen glaring at him.

"Perhaps we can," she agreed, rolling her eyes.

"For the meantime at least."

Takumi tapped his fingers against the side of the stirring wheel as he waited for Scott to agree, but the arrogant piece shit only nodded and looked far outside the window.

"Shameless bastard!" She hissed, kicking the mat underneath.

The tension between Scott and Kathleen just kept on growing as the time pass.

"He's really giving me anxiety for hell's sake. I could imagine him being all sweet with that woman while keeping someone as precious as my best friend at the same time. What a selfish jerk!"

Kathleen looked outside when Takumi entered a condominium's parking lot.

"She lives here?" She asked.

"No." Takumi replied. "I actually did research about MaTet last night to find out it's only a username. All information about this person is hidden."

"So, what are we doing here then?"

"To talk to someone who will know her location." He smiled and glanced at Scott through the rear mirror before he parked the car.

Shoulders hunched against the cold August wind, Takumi stomped out the car and soothed himself with his black furry coat.

"C'mon."

Kathleen sighed expansively and nodded before stepping out. Scott followed and they all headed towards the elevator. The two of them stood behind her. No one's talking.

Kathleen glanced at her watch.

10:23 AM. Damn time do fly fast.

The elevator stopped at the 7th floor and it opened. Kathleen walked out first and then waited for Takumi to guide the way. Just about a few steps, Kathleen heard a soft voice behind her.

She turned back and saw a warping image of the little girl she saw from her dreams. She was glaring at her with a sinister smile uttering Samantha's name and just like that, she disappeared.

Kathleen swilled as she tried containing her fear, although she fought it, the memories caught her up again and her whole body began to tremble. Everything was real! Slowly, she became aware of her heartbeat and allowed it to completely pull her back to full consciousness.

"Is your brain shutting down?" Kathleen snorted and looked at Scott.

"You know," she sighed, scrubbing a hand across her face, horror still echoing faintly behind her words. "There's a very good reason why I'm keeping you alive until now."

Scott grinned, finding everything she said amusing.

"Hey! Both of you, come here now." Takumi called. He was standing in front of a door, six doors away from them. With one vigorous sigh, Kathleen left and stopped beside him when he paused, hand on the door and eyes on her.

"I could feel demonic presence around you. What happened?" He asked, lips curled.

"Nothing."

"Tell me."

The air, over the center of the hallway, shivered and changed as though something were forcing it aside from within. As Takumi waited for her to speak, she calmed herself into her best.

"I saw someone from my d-dream... and she calls me Samantha."

Takumi couldn't think of anything else. That is definitely a bit serious than what he expected. He pushed his glasses up to his nose and turned back at the door.

Tension brought Kathleen's shoulders up and her stomach tied to knots when the door opened and she saw someone she expected the very least.

"Let me get this straight, he'll be the one to help us?" She pointed the man in front of them.

"Yes," Takumi smiled. "This my cousin-"

"Tomoya Fujishima," Kathleen finished and made a disgusted face at him who only grinned.

"Oh hi, Kath. It's been a while."

"You know each other?" Takumi glanced at Tomoya. Kathleen snorted and looked at Scott who stood behind her.

"God! What a small world."

* * *

Frowning by his mistake, Takumi sighed, wondering if he should say something. And if so, what would it be?

He could feel the tension between Kathleen towards the two men in front of her. Apparently, Tomoya and Samantha also had a tragic past but the thing between them still remains a mystery and even Takumi, being Tomoya's closest cousin, didn't have any idea.

Time ticked 4 AM.

They waited patiently for Tomoya to finish studying MaTet's profile while Takumi is quietly absorbing the new bit of information Kathleen told him about the two.

Clapping his hands, Tomoya leaned on the couch.

"Got it!" He snapped. "This person sure is a master of technology for hiding its information too well, more like a deep web. Anyways, I can now easily access this account. Just give me for about two to three days, but doing so, we'll be invading someone's privacy and you know I'm against that matter, Takumi-niisan..." his lips pooched. "Unless you tell me what is this for exactly?"

Kathleen shot Takumi a glare and he couldn't help but blaming himself for making things a little bit more complicated since they can't get a lot of people involved.

"It's really confidential and it'll be safe if you don't know."

Tomoya sighed. "You may not know this but I actually dated Shane for eight months."

"You COURTED her for right months. Don't be so full of yourself." Kathleen corrected and pointed Scott. "That cold-hearted piece of shit over there is the only lucky guy who have dated her." She rolled her eyes and looked at Takumi when he tapped a finger against the table.

"This is mainly all about her, isn't it? No need to lie. I already know and you..." Tomoya looked at Scott who only raised a brow.

He's sitting on the couch next to him.

"Scott, right? You've been with her for six months?" He then glanced over Takumi. "You've been working with her for five years and you..." he turned to look at Kathleen, "you've been her best friend for as long as I know."

"And your point?" Kathleen narrowed her eyes.

"All of us here are aware Shane ain't just a normal person, am I right? Or am I correct?"

Kathleen eyed Scott. He doesn't seem to look surprised at all. He must have already an idea, but to what extent?

A mental smack brought her wandering mind on the business at hand when Scott spoke.

"Why did you two broke up?"

Takumi and Kathleen exchanged looks and glanced over Tomoya who seems to be fascinated by the sudden question.

"Because I messed up." He smirked. "She forgave me but all of the sudden, she changed. I have no way of knowing her real reason. It's just that I woke up one day, and she's already gone. And what about the two of you?"

Scott swallowed. His mouth had gone dry and wasn't able to say anything.

Tomoya faintly chuckled. "I guess you also screwed up, ah?"

"Big time!" Kathleen hissed. "How much do you know?! Just spit it out already!"

As Kathleen groaned, Tomoya rose, walked to the bookshelf behind him and took a book in a size of an encyclopedia, bound in matte darkened with times of handling. He sat back down and twisted the darkly patented cover to a wide spread.

"That's her penmanship!" Kathleen scowled attempting to snatch the book from him when he pulled it away in an even faster pace.

"It's very old, for hell's sake! You could have torn it into two."

Kathleen ignored Tomoya's reaction, hand still aiming for the book.

"Where did you get that?"

"In her library upstairs."

"She had a library?" Kathleen's eyes shifted towards Takumi.

"The last room we tried to enter was a library," Takumi's voice sounded a little bit desperate. "So, you went in?"

"Yeah."

"When?"

"About a year and a half ago?"

"What did you saw?"

"Nothing special. Just a plain library. I already sensed something's odd about her, so I sneaked upstairs out of curiosity and took this at least."

Takumi held his chin. It's either those marks weren't there before or Tomoya can't see them at all.

"So, what's with that book then?" Scott asked, pointing the book with his lips.

"It's a grimoire, containing Shane's family secrets." Tomoya placed the book on the center table and opened it to the first page to where an inverted pentagram is drawn with droplets of blood covering the topmost part of it.

"What in the world is this?" Kathleen muttered.

"This sign is demonic," Tomoya sounded different. "You see, Shane don't really belong in this world to begin with."
