30 || By my side?

The night had went on with them all having fun until everyone found themselves piled over one another already dead into sleep. It was almost 8 when Seonghwa opened his eyes, to find Hongjoong gone. Deciding to go downstairs and look for him, Seonghwa noticed grandma sitting on the couch while she watched a program.

As soon as the faint sound of footsteps sounded in her old ears, grandma looked around to see who it was when she caught Seonghwa coming down from the stairs. "Aww, Seonghwa-yah! You woke up my child?" Grandma asks in her usual sweet tone which would make Seonghwa smile always as he felt himself finally loved. He was really grateful of Hongjoong cause her grandma was really nice to him just like how his own grandma could have been.

Seonghwa smiles up at her as he comes near to her."Good morning, grandma! I-I was wondering where did Hongjoong go?" Seonghwa asked expectantly looking at her. Grandma smiled at that before saying to him. "He and I went to his parents. He wanted to stay for longer and asked me to come back since he worries too much about my health." Grandma smiled at her grandchild's thought. "Oh, I see I'll go and see if he is alright or not then." Seonghwa smiles up at her before grandma caressed his cheek. "Seonghwa-yah. Thank you for staying by my Hongjoongie's side!" Grandma thanks him to which Seonghwa immediately puts his hand above hers.

"Grandma please don't say that. I should thank you and Hongjoong instead. If he wouldn't have been here for me I wouldn't have been here either today. He is really precious to me. I'll go to him now. Take care of yourself please." Seonghwa says softly before turning up the stairs again to get his phone. Making sure not to make any sound and not step on anyone's sprawled body, Seonghwa made way to the desk where his phone laid.

As Seonghwa was about to pick it something caught his attention. On the far corner of the desk sat a paper plane. Raising his eyebrows Seonghwa reached and examined it for a while before opening it. Something in him just told him to.

Opening it up to see something scribbled inside, Seonghwa eye-reads it.

Dear me, I know I write only once but this year I have a reason to write twice. And the reason is Seonghwa.

Please give him all the happiness and love he deserves. He deserves a lot more than he got till now, and I want to give all those he deserves. And for that I want to wish that Seonghwa trusts me enough to know I am here for him. And not just now but forever and ever. Please keep him safe because I don't want to lose him ever. I love him alot.

Seonghwa finished reading the small note as slight tears escaped his eyes. Hongjoong was really really precious. He was thankful to have him but he still wonders how someone like him deserved him. He doesn't care anymore if he deserves him or not though, because he wants to keep him by his side forever. Who wouldn't want huh? Who wouldn't want to keep someone who made them feel special? Who wouldn't want to keep someone who is always there to stay even if you don't want to tell anyone about anything? Who wouldn't to keep someone who taught them to stay alive and live for yourself in the happiness of others, who taught them to never feel alone and let people listen if really needed. And Why wouldn't Seonghwa want to keep him when he loves Hongjoong so much.

Suddenly, looking at his wrist to see that bracelet, Seonghwa smiles and traces his fingers on its cold metallic material. "Looks like, it's time to give this bracelet back finally." Seonghwa whispers softly before folding the paper plane back and putting it into his pocket with his phone and going out of the room silently. He gave a glance to the room where 6 other bodies laid sprawled above each other.

San laid on Wooyoung's stomach drooling a little while Wooyoung's hand stayed in his hair. YeoSang stayed on the farthest corner from all only to be hugged by the stubborn Jongho, his face showing both discomfort and happiness. Seonghwa chuckled at that. And there they were, Yunho and Mingi laying side by side, their arms around over each as they hugged themselves in their sleep. They were truly cute, a bear and puppy. Best description. He was happy to have so many people now. And he was happy to be slightly older among them all too. They were like his little brothers though till now he hadn't cared for them in that way but now, he would surely do that.

Coming down only to get his jacket and pulling it on, Seonghwa ran out the house doors, an excited smile on his face. He was so ready to meet Hongjoong right now. Grandma seeing Seonghwa so happy for the first time just chuckled and shook her head before getting back to her program.

Getting on his bike, Seonghwa went on, a sweet little toothy grin on his face. Seonghwa wanted to see Hongjoong so much right now and he wanted to just pull him to himself and never let go of him. Seonghwa wanted to tell him how much he wanted to keep Hongjoong forever and say those words to him 'i love you Joongie'. Seonghwa hadn't bothered with closing his jacket either that right now, his speed could easily show how the jacket threatened to fly away forever and never come back to such an inconsiderate owner. But Seonghwa didn't care.

Hongjoong on the other side, sat in front of his parents grave as he smiled at them though a few tears were there as he missed them so much. He still remembers losing them on this day but he knows they aren't gone fully. They are still with him and always by his side.

Getting up, Hongjoong finally decided to leave but still stood there for a bit enjoying the calm and silence. A familiar sound of an engine breaks the calm and silence through its noise. Hongjoong scrunches his nose up before raising his eyebrows as a realisation hit him. It was Seonghwa's bike's noise, he remembers it.

Opening his eyes a little wider, Hongjoong was about to turn around to confirm when he felt running footsteps come and hug him from behind. Feeling two strong arms hold his small waist, Hongjoong stood shocked as he felt Seonghwa's soft hair tickle his neck a little, his head resting on his shoulder. Immediately bringing his hand over Seonghwa's, Hongjoong whispers softly slightly worried. "Seonghwa, is everything alright? Did something happen?" Hongjoong asked, concern and worry lacing his voice since such behaviour from Seonghwa came only when he was too sad and wanted someone.

Seonghwa didn't speak anything and just held him tightly, he wanted to stay that way for who knows how long. Hongjoong getting more worried and suspicious spoke again. "Seonghwa?! Why aren't you answering me?! I'm worried! Tell me what happened?" Seonghwa just shook his head before speaking.

"Something happened, but don't worry. I'm happy." Seonghwa just hugged Hongjoong as Hongjoong stayed confused. "What do you mean? Seonghwa I'm confused." Hongjoong whines before wiggling out of Seonghwa's grip until Seonghwa grabs him again and pulls him by the waist, planting a soft kiss on his lips. Hongjoong immediately closing his eyes, cups Seonghwa's face by his right hand while his other hand comes to his shoulder.

Moving their lips together, Seonghwa thought of everything that happened since the day he met Hongjoong. Everything seemed so beautiful. From the time Hongjoong bumped into him to the time Hongjoong hugged him whenever he cried. From the time Hongjoong saved him to the time Hongjoong changed him. Everything was just so worth it. That day Seonghwa had made a promise to himself after Hongjoong had given him his bracelet. And now, Seonghwa feels that he has fulfilled his promise to himself.

That it's time to return Hongjoong his bracelet.

Pulling apart, Seonghwa catches the red deep warm blush on Hongjoong's cheeks that could be mistaken as the winter's consequence. But Seonghwa knew better, it was his own work. Chuckling softly, Seonghwa moved his hand that held the bracelet from Hongjoong's waist as he brought it to Hongjoong's face to caress his blushing warm cheeks. Leaning in to place another kiss at his small lips, Seonghwa smiled before fully separating from Hongjoong.

Finding the lose unhappiness giving, Hongjoong pursed his lips into a small almost undetectable pout. Seonghwa raised his wrist in front of Hongjoong before slowly and very delicately removing the bracelet from his wrist. Hongjoong just stared at Seonghwa confused. Seonghwa turned to Hongjoong's parents' before bowing to them.

"Mr. And Mrs. Kim, I would like to thank you both for giving me Hongjoong. He has changed me and my life since he came never once asking anything from me. I wonder if your son is so kind-hearted and lovely, how nice you both must have been. And today I want to ask you for your permission so that I can keep your son happily with me. I hope you allow me to." All through Seonghwa's words to Hongjoong's parents, Hongjoong just stared at Seonghwa's face. He had a smile, a genuine and lovely bright smile.

All these words about him gave him goosebumps in the already cold shivering weather as he stood there. He didn't have any words what to say right now but the only thing that made his eyes tear up was the thought of Seonghwa loving him too. His answers to if he could really fall for someone the second time were answered. His answers to if Seonghwa felt the same about him were answered too. Breaking out into a loud cry Hongjoong held his face in his hands.

Seonghwa turned around only to kneel down in front of Hongjoong smiling a little. When Hongjoong heard Seonghwa kneeling down, he immediately removed his hands from his tear stained face to pull Seonghwa up only to be stopped by Seonghwa's hand that grabbed his own. "S-Seonghwa, get up please." Hongjoong asked Seonghwa to get up but got a small shake of Seonghwa's head as Seonghwa spoke. "You never listen to me, let me finish then i'll get up." As Seonghwa said that as he brought the bracelet in his other hand up near Hongjoong's as Hongjoong stared at his face.

Slowly, Seonghwa slipped the bracelet back in Hongjoong's tiny wrist before looking up at Hongjoong. "Kim Hongjoong, will you stay by my side?" Seonghwa asked, a small smile playing on his features as his cheeks felt the pinkish glow to them spread at his own words. Hongjoong broke into a teary laugh, as he immediately hugged Seonghwa. Who was he to turn that offer, proposal whatever people call it? "Yes, I will! I forever will! I'll stay by your side."

Smiling Seonghwa voiced out.

"Thank you for being on my side."
