27 || Hiding
Seonghwa sat in his room later that day. He hasn't talked to Hongjoong the whole day to be honest. They were together but they didn't speak anything. He hadn't gone home with Hongjoong either today. Hongjoong told that he has to go pick his grandma from the station and had left early without him knowing. The others didn't seem to realise until he had heard San ask him a question. He doesn't even know how San got to know in the first place.
San had asked him:
"Hey Seonghwa, do you like Hongjoong?"
To be honest Seonghwa isn't sure of this question either. He hasn't been able to have the courage to talk to Hongjoong the whole day because of what he did yesterday. He still remembers how Hongjoong's lips felt like feathers but tasted like strawberries. How he just wanted nothing to taste those lips again and again. They were addicting. Nothing more or less.
But now all the consequences of yesterday's kiss are pouring down on him like rain and Seonghwa is left with a question that is like a broken umbrella. Only the right answer to that question can help him fix the umbrella and save himself from the rain of awkwardness. And how can Seonghwa know what is the right answer? Simple. The answer is what his heart says to him.
But that's the thing, he isn't sure himself what his heart says to him. One moment it says that you don't deserve anything but the other says be selfish and stay with people who are ready to stay with you like Hongjoong. One moment it believes what Hongjoong says and the other it says that Hongjoong wouldn't mean it in the future. One moment it feels that he wants to leave everything and just do what he wants but the other it feels like he will end up becoming the same way he was in his childhood to his mom. A curse.
He doesn't want to be that for Hongjoong or anyone anymore. And if he does like Hongjoong but Hongjoong doesn't then he sure is becoming that to him. Everything just feels so different and warm when he is with Hongjoong while the next moment when he is alone he feels lonely but as soon as Hongjoong comes or even a single thought of him crosses his mind he finds himself smiling and looking forward to meeting him.
He isn't sure anymore what to do but what he feels is that he has fallen for Hongjoong. And maybe too hard to stop even if Hongjoong doesn't like him in return. Maybe that's what his fate is, to stay alone. If he tells Hongjoong then surely Hongjoong will leave him like everyone else but he knows that Hongjoong won't be wrong in that. That, his mistake led Hongjoong to leave him. Hongjoong can never be wrong in such a thing. It's him who is wrong.
Maybe he should just try apologizing for yesterday. That way at least he can know if Hongjoong is alright or not. Maybe he should do that. Seonghwa takes his phone from the nightstand and opens it. The screen lights up, it's glow on Seonghwa's handsome angelic features. His blonde hair getting more brighter as they shine in the slightly dark room.
He looks at the Lock Screen for sometime wondering if he should do this or not. Deciding to just make use of the time, Seonghwa opened Hongjoong's number and starting guiding his fingers on the keyboard.
Seonghwa
Hey Hongjoong....It's me Seonghwa.
Seonghwa reads the text once before clicking on the send button and waiting. When he didn't get a text back for the next ten minutes Seonghwa just figured Hongjoong must be busy. Sighing, and putting his phone back on the nightstand, Seonghwa just lied down. Seonghwa stared at the ceiling busy in his own thoughts.
He likes Hongjoong, he does a lot probably but....Hongjoong most probably doesn't. Why would he even like someone like him? Hongjoong is just a sweet person. He loves everyone and helps every single person without a word. Even when Hongjoong told Seonghwa how he experienced something similar to him without a single idea of it, Seonghwa saw how Hongjoong didn't blame Jungkook even a single bit.
He saw how Hongjoong had a smile on his face all the while though he could easily see the sadness behind it. He still remembers the day he saw Hongjoong crying totally different to his actual self. He felt so heartbroken when he saw Hongjoong. It was as if he wanted to see the other just smile and never cry. And he still wants to see Hongjoong that way. He can't take the chance of telling Hongjoong how much he likes him only to find out Hongjoong getting hurt because of that.
Suddenly, he hears a beep sound which asks him to turn and look at the nightstand. Seonghwa's gaze falls on the silver object that had its screen lit up by now. Reaching his hand forward, Seonghwa looks at the screen. There was a message. Sliding up his finger to unlock the screen Seonghwa opens the notification.
Hongjoong
Seonghwa! Hey! What is it at this hour? Sorry, I was with my grandma till now. But I'm free now.
Seonghwa reads the message and immediately face-palms. He was so stupid to text Hongjoong at this hour. It was almost 10 at night. He would have surely disturbed Hongjoong. But, now that he has replied what should he actually do? What should he even say to him?
Not coming with anything serious to go as an excuse, Seonghwa just ends up asking an obvious question.
Seonghwa
Nothing much, just wanted to know if you're alright or not since you went away before me today.
Hongjoong
Oh I'm really sorry Seonghwa. I didn't tell you before leaving.
I went first cause I had to pick grandma. I'm really sorry again.
Seonghwa
Hey, it's alright don't say sorry. Yunho told me that. It's just I was a little worried.
Hongjoong
Sorry, I made you worried. By the way Seonghwa you should get to bed it's late.
Seonghwa
O-okay I will then. Goodnight and sweet dreams.
See ya tomorrow Hongjoong.
Hongjoong
Good(:
Goodnight and sweet dreams to you too Seonghwa.
Seonghwa clicked his phone's screen shut before setting it back on the nightstand. He laid down again staring at the ceiling, the moonlight casting it's glow on his blonde haired angelic features like usual. Okay, so the conversation didn't go as weird as he expected it to.
Though he texted him for apologising for what he did yesterday he ended up asking a question that may seem a last moment question specially made to hide his stupidity but honestly it wasn't for that. He was worried about Hongjoong since he just went away without telling him today. He was worried if he was alright or not.
Seonghwa just stared at the ceiling and kept thinking and thinking until his eyes fell close and he drifted off to sleep only to find Hongjoong's smiling face in his dreams making him go crazy in his dream as well, just like he goes crazy in real life.

The door of the house opens with a click sound, two figures following behind. Both the figures were of the same height if that even mattered. However, the older of the two walked slowly while the younger's pace was slowed by the heavy bags in both of his hands. He grabbed onto the bags tightly until he entered the house and placed them on the floor.
"Ahh! Did you clean it so much because I was coming or did my son really start doing work properly?" An elderly female voice speaks to the younger figure. Hongjoong hearing it, smiles and looks at his grandma. "Your son has grown intelligent grandma. I do it everyday!" Hongjoong speaks proudly the last statement still accompanied by a small pout. Seeing this, his grandma smiles at him.
"Aww my child! Come here!" Grandma calls Hongjoong and Hongjoong understanding fully well, went straight hugging her tight. Grandma smiled and gave Hongjoong a kiss on the cheek to which Hongjoong smiled to the point his eyes closed. Suddenly, Hongjoong's phone buzzed in his pocket. Feeling it, Hongjoong moved out of the hug.
Taking his phone out Hongjoong looked at what it was. Finding a notification, Hongjoong saw it was a text from Seonghwa. Hongjoong's grandma saw her child go from all smiles to a straight face. Raising her eyebrows, she asked. "My child, what happened? Is something up?" Hongjoong looked up at his grandma's concerned face.
"Ah-ah it's nothing grandma! Just my friend Seonghwa's text." Hongjoong replied trying to sound as normal as possible. Grandma's face immediately lit up hearing Hongjoong's answer. "Oh~ so it's Seonghwa. Why don't you reply him then?" Grandma asked in a soft tone. Hongjoong didn't want to seem rude to her nor he actually knew what to reply with, so he just shook his head off in a dismissing manner.
"No, grandma it's alright. I'll text him later. You should probably go rest now. You must be tired." Hongjoong said and his grandma just nodded before giving him a sweet kiss on the cheek. Hongjoong showed her to her room and after another sweet goodnight kiss she went into her room while Hongjoong went to his own.
He wasn't sure why Seonghwa texted him but he doesn't want to make him feel bad either by not replying. Maybe, he'll just reply. He can't keep on hiding from him after the kiss, can he?
