"Shit." Nalani cursed, grabbing her phone as the alarm went off, the time of 7:00AM plastered on her screen.

While trying to get herself together to wake all the way up, she could hear heavy knocks on her door, and she groaned in annoyance.

She stood from her bed, holding the back of her torso because her back was hurting-most likely from the way that she'd slept.

After turning her locks the opposite direction to unlock her front door, she swung it open to reveal Sinclair who was carrying what looked to be a box of donuts.

"Wassup shordy? You was sleeping?" He chuckled, giving her a hug as he stepped inside.

"Obviously nigga it's seven in the fucking morning." She mumbled, and he shook his head at her attitude as she closed the door. She'd never been a morning person-or an awake person at all for that matter. She preferred to sleep.

"Pissy ass. I got you some pig in the blankets." He sat the food on her kitchen table, watching as she yawned.

"Thank you. I'ma go get dressed real quick, can you go wake her up to eat?" She looked at him, and he nodded, following her down the hall.

Nalani close her bedroom door once she was in, yawning again as she walked to her bathroom. After completing her normal morning routine, she walked over to her bed.

"Baby," She tapped an asleep Kyzion's shoulder, and he didn't begin to turn in his sleep until she tapped him harder.

"Sinclair's here. I'm about to get my baby ready for school, okay?" She kissed his face, and he nodded his head, his eyes remaining closed. She pressed her lips softly against his until he began to kiss her back, then slowly pulled away from her.

"You coming with me?" She mumbled, rubbing his small beard, between her fingertips.

"No, this is a you and him thing. I'll come say bye though, okay?" He mumbled back, still half asleep.

"Okay baby." She kissed his cheek again, and then stood back up, stretching her body out as she walked to her closet.

Deciding she was going to be up for the rest of the day, she chose to get dressed in a black sundress that disguised her small baby bump and stopped at her mid thigh. For her shoes, she wore a pair of Rick Owens thigh length boots.

She sprayed some Baccarat perfume over her body, and finally, for her hair, she just went over her silky blonde tape ins with a wig brush to make the body curls become fluffy again.

Then, Nalani walked out of her room, hearing Skye's tired voice coming from one of the hall bathrooms. She wasn't too much of a morning person either.

"Good morning puddin'." Nalani leaned over the tub side, and Skye tilted her head back, letting her kiss over her face.

"I don't wanna go to school anymore." Skye sniffed, sitting in a tub full of bubbles.

"That's too bad fat ass. Should've went to bed last night." Sinclair stuck his tongue out, and Nalani hit his chest, making him shrug with a smile on his face.

"Don't listen to daddy. You'll be back home at 1:45 and then you can take a nap. You don't wanna go and make new friends?" Nalani began to lather her body up in soap, making sure her bonnet didn't get wet.

"I can make friends at home." She mumbled, and Nalani stifled a laugh while Sinclair shook his head at her.

It took them about half an hour to get Skye fully dressed and ready for school, and as the time had went by, her attitude slowly disappeared and she was now ready for school.

"Kazi!" Skye shrieked, running to hug his legs after he'd came out of the bedroom, and he leaned down to pick her up before she could.

"Hey Skye. You look so pretty. And I guess your beads are okay too." He held his hand up, and she gave him a high five as she laughed, before hugging around his neck.

"I'll miss you while I'm at school. But don't be sad, because I get out at 1:45, okay? But then daddy's picking me up so I won't see you until later." She told him, and he chuckled, putting her back down.

"I'll miss you too. Have a good day at school. You a big girl now." He kissed her cheek, and she gave him another hug, before running to her dad who waited for her near the front door.

"I'll be right back, okay?" Nalani held his face, and he nodded, letting her kiss his lips. She kissed his cheek as well, and then headed for the front door.

Sinclair nodded his head at Kyzion, to which he returned, and then closed the front door once they left out.

"You sure you don't want us to drop you off puddin'?" Nalani asked as they walked down the sidewalk, more so hinting that she wanted to drop her off.

"No mama. Asia and Jackie rides my bus." She held her hand, and Nalani huffed, making Sinclair laugh.

Once they made it to the end of the street, Skye took her backpack from her mom because she knew it was time to take pictures.

By the time they'd gotten a few took, they could hear the screeching of the bus breaks not too far away, and Nalani tried not to cry.

"Don't be sad mommy. I'll see you later, and bye bye baby." She stood on her tip toes to kiss Nalani's stomach, and then Nalani leaned down to kiss her as well.

"Have a super good day puddin'. I love you so much. And call me okay? I wanna hear all about it Skye, I'm serious." She told her, and Skye laughed as she nodded, reaching over to hug her dad.

"I'll see you after school princess. Let me know if I gotta bring my gun up t-,"

"Sinclair!" Nalani hit his chest, and he laughed as he kissed Skye's face.

"Have a good day mama. I love you," He stood back upright just as the bus stopped in front of them, and Skye smiled.

"Skye!" Asia and Jackie, her best friends, called from inside the bus, and Nalani pouted as she excitedly ran up the bus steps to get to her friends.

"She didn't even tell us she loved us back." Nalani sniffed, wiping her face just as tears began to fall, hearing the bus doors close.

"Look crybaby," Sinclair pointed, and Nalani looked up, seeing Skye excitedly waving bye to them, and they wasted no time to wave back.

"Oh my god, my baby is in school. I will kill myself at this bus stop right now bro." Nalani huffed, smacking her lips once Sinclair laughed at her.

She rolled her eyes at him as they began walking back towards her house, and she liked the pictures he'd posted on Instagram.

"Are you using both of your feet to drive?" She asked, and he nodded like it was obvious.

"Babe you can't drive with both feet. Only your most dominant one, because if you use both, you'll get confused. Like just now." She explained, shaking her head at his actions.

"I don't wanna do this anymore." He mumbled, and she grabbed his face, chuckling.

"You just made a mistake. That's normal. Just try not to make it again because if you total my car I'm going to be pissed." She told him, and he cracked a smile, making her do the same.

She was glad that she decided to take him driving in her 2016 Toyota Camry. It was her very first car, and she didn't mind him practicing in it because it was old and wasn't one of her more expensive cars.

Nalani reached over to put the car in park, and then sat up more in her seat so that she could see his foot placement.

"Rest on the break with your right foot." She told him, and he did as told, feeling the pressure as the break went down.

"Now the gas." She watched him, and he did that too, his fingers beginning to irritably tap on the wheel as the engine revved up.

"It's okay baby. Do you wanna stop?" She put her hand over his, and he sighed.

"Yes, you do. So, let's go." She kissed his cheek, and he put the gear in drive, the car slowly beginning to go forward in the empty parking lot.

"Give it just a little bit of gas." She told him, and he did as told, the car moving faster, and he became nervous as he approached a turn.

"This is the easy part. The car will go wherever you tell it to. If you turn the wheel right, where will it go?"

"To the right." He answered, using his palm to turn the wheel, easing the car into the right lane of the two way path.

"Good job baby. Give it some more gas. The normal speed for service roads is 35 to 40 miles per hour. For highways, it's really whatever." She shrugged, and he shook his head at her while doing as told.

"Yeah because you hit 100 easily." He said, and she laughed, rolling her eyes because it was true.

"Look at you! You're doing it." She clapped as he made another turn all by himself, and he smiled at how excited she was for him.

Kyzion had driven plenty of times before, but Amanda and Jon always made him nervous because they made him feel like he'd mess up just because he was fidgety-so he eventually just stopped doing lessons with them.

The fact that Nalani trusted him and only gave input when needed calmed his nerves all the way down. He didn't even feel like closing his eyes like he usually did.

"Yes you can. Don't say you can't do something until you at least try. Go out through there, and wait until you have an opening." She pointed, and he blew out a breath, following her directions.

He rested on the break at the exit of the parking lot, looking towards the left because that's where cars were coming from. As soon as there was an opening, he eased out into the further left lane, recognizing his surroundings.

"Now, you don't have to speed up. If somebody thinks you're going too slow, they'll just go around you. Go at whatever pace you think is good." She told him, and he nodded, seeing the speed limit sign that read 45MPH.

He pressed his foot down on the gas a bit harder, giving the car some speed to match the flow of the other cars-his nervousness slowly leaving his body.

"Good job!" Nalani smiled as he stopped just before the crosswalk at the red light, and he smiled as well.

Before he knew it, he'd made it all the way to Amanda's house without needing much help from Nalani. He was more than proud of himself.

"Ama! I drove all by myself!" He called out as they entered the house, and Nalani smiled at his excitement from behind him.

"And you're still alive?! Wow!" She sarcastically replied, and then laughed at his stale face as she wrapped her arms around him in a hug.

"I'm just kidding. That's great! Was you scared?" She held his arms, a smile on her face. Even though she'd just seen him a few days ago, it looked as if he'd gotten bigger.

"At first, but Nalani helped me. I drove all the way from by that old Burlington that got shut down." He told her, and she smiled at Nalani, giving her a hug too.

"Hey baby. Thank you so much for taking care of him Nyny." She whispered the last part to her, and Nalani hugged her back.

"He's my favorite, so anytime. Thanks for trusting me with him." She rubbed her back before releasing her from the hug, and Amanda's smile remained. It felt so good to see Kyzion all grown up and happy.

She'd had a hard time raising him, but seeing him today made it all worth it. She was so proud of the man he was becoming. It was heart-warming to witness.

"Is Elisa here?" Nalani asked, the house eerily quiet if she was. Elisa's voice could usually be heard all throughout the house-no matter what room she was in.

"Nah chile. She somewhere running behind that girl. Been with her for about a week now. Both my babies leaving the nest." She dried her hands with a paper towel, having just finished washing the dishes.

"Oh, well that's good because I don't want to tell her that Nalani's pregnant, so you can tell her." Kyzion revealed, and Amanda's face immediately formed into a shocked expression.

"Yeah. My baby four months pregnant-and it's going to be a boy. See?" He lifted Nalani's hoodie up, revealing her stomach, and Amanda slowly closed her mouth, her lips forming into a pout.
