"Wow, Kazi. It sounds like you really like her." Kyzion's therapist, Payton, told him aft he'd finished with his tangent.

"Yeah, I know. I do, sometimes. When she doesn't call me, I stop liking her. But then she calls, and it's fine." He shrugged, opening his bag of colorful rubber bands.

"Ah, spoiled at its finest. What do you do when she doesn't call?" She chuckled, setting her pencil down on top of her notebook.

"I stop liking her. I just said that Payton." He mumbled, his attention on making a bracelet for Skye. Yesterday he promised to make her one, but had forgotten, so he was doing it now.

"No, I mean like, do you block her? Or just stay silently upset?"

"I text her to tell her I don't like her anymore. She just laughs," He shrugged again, his long fingers moving quickly through the rubber bands.

"That sounds very much like you. How old is she?"

"She's 23, and she has a three year old daughter named Skye. She's very small for a three year old, and Nalani always braids her hair with these little white beads that are very annoying. She's very pretty, but she doesn't look like Na-" He paused, catching himself before he could go on another rant.

"It seems like you have your hands full Kazi." She laughed at the frown that he wore, and he shrugged once again.

Kyzion looked down at his phone, seeing that it was 2:59p.m., and his natural frown deepened at how quickly time had went by.

"I know, I know. You have to leave. See you next time Kazi, and don't forget to journal!" Payton gave him a fist bump once he stood up, and he nodded, waving bye to her.

He waved to the receptionist at the front desk who said goodbye to him, and then he went out the large round-a-bout door.

His frown disappeared seeing Nalani's all black 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee parked in the nearest visible parking spot, just like he preferred.

When he opened the door, the fumes of green apple essential mists invaded his nostrils, coming from the freshener in the vents of the truck.

"Kazi!" Skye exclaimed once she laid eyes on him, and he turned his body, a smile gracing his face.

"Wassup Skye? I made your bracelet." He held it out to her after giving her a high five, and her smile grew.

"Pink is my favorite color!" She referred to the pink rubber bands, and Nalani chuckled at their interaction.

"Hey Nalani. I missed you." Kyzion greeted her as well, wrapping his arms around her for a hug, to which she returned.

He normally wasn't a fan of touching anyone, but Nalani had him accustomed to hugging her whenever he saw her, just because he knew that she was very affectionate-even though he wasn't.

"Hi handsome. I missed you too. I brought you food." She smiled, leaving a kiss on his cheek that made his stomach flutter as they pulled away.

She reached in front of him to grab the Chipotle bag, and pulled out a burrito bowl that contained separation folds through the food so it didn't touch, then passed him a straw as well for his drink.

"Thank you. Can you stop now, please?" He mumbled, his head tilting from the multiple kisses she was leaving on his cheek, and she turned his head to face her with a smile resting as her expression.

He pecked her lips twice, and her smile spread further across her lips. It was like that every time she was with him. All she did was smile, and she did it so hard that it made her mouth hurt.

"You want the other half of your bowl puddin'?" Nalani glanced in the rearview mirror at her daughter who was currently filming a video for her imaginary YouTube channel.

"No, can I have my juice?" She asked, and Nalani reached back while she drove to give her the small cup of watermelon lemonade.

Nalani pulled out of the parking lot of the therapy center, taking glances at both Skye and Kyzion as she headed for the main roads.

"You okay baby?" She asked a quiet Kyzion, and he nodded his head, unable to answer since food was in his mouth.

She chuckled, glancing down at her phone that rung, and she used her free hand to put it to her ear after answering.

"Hey, what's up?" She checked her side mirror as she switched lanes, then shifted how she was sitting in her seat.

"Wassup mama. I know it ain't my day, but can you bring me Skye? Nonna having a family dinner tonight." Sinclair spoke into the phone, and her eyebrows furrowed.

"Sin I just got her back last night." Her tone softened. She hated being away from her baby, and she definitely hadn't even gotten used to having three whole days where she couldn't see her.

"It's just for a few hours ma. You can come too."

"Why can't you take her to the dinner next week?" She asked, knowing that his grandma hosted a family dinner every Saturday.

"Cyxx flew in this morning and he only staying four days." He told her with reference to his brother who was in the Navy. Cyxx also happened to be Skye's favorite uncle, and Nalani knew how bad she missed him. He only came a few times a year, but FaceTimed them as often as he could.

"I ain't know he was coming Marie, you know I would've told you earlier. I'll bring her back home tonight, I swear." He added, and she sighed to herself.

"Fine. I'm on my way." She gave in, turning on her right blinker so that she could take the exit ramp on the freeway.

"Thank you. I love you."

"I love you too. Bye." She pulled her phone from her ear, hitting the red icon to hang up, and then she tossed it in the cup holder.

"Mommy was that my daddy?" Skye asked from the backseat, and Nalani looked at her through the rearview.

"Yeah. You're gonna go back to his house for a little bit. He has a surprise for you."

"But I just came back home." She frowned, and Nalani chuckled at how just alike they were.

"I know puddin'. He gone drop you back off tonight, I promise." She told her, and Skye nodded, putting her AirPods back in.

"Are you okay?" Kyzion asked Nalani, seeing the small pout that she wore as her expression.

"Yeah. I just haven't gotten used to being away from her yet. I cry every time she goes to her dad's." She chuckled, shaking her head at herself.

"Oh, okay then. Do you wanna hear a joke to make you feel better?" He drunk from his Dr.Pepper, and she laughed while looking over at him.

"Stop laughing. I haven't said the joke yet." He chuckled, slyly rolling his eyes at her.

"Okay I'm sorry. Tell me." She snickered, already ready to laugh again.

"Why don't seagulls fly over the bay?"

Nalani looked over at him again while trying to hold her laugh back, remembering when she saw this same joke on her popsicle a few years ago.

"Because then they'd be bagels." She answered, doing word play on bay-gulls instead of sea-gulls, and Kyzion stale faced her once she busted out laughing.

"You get on my nerves. Why couldn't you pretend like you've never heard it?" He frowned, but ended up smiling from how hard she was laughing.

"I'm sorry. Shit. That was funny." She wiped the tears that had fell after putting her car in park, and he rolled his eyes again.

"No it wasn't. Be quiet." He waved her off, and she smiled, leaning over to kiss his face.

"I be right back okay?" She told him, and he nodded his head, watching as she got out of the truck.

He looked at the house they were parked in front of, seeing two luxurious cars in the driveway on the side of the house, and another parked in front of Nalani's car.

The house was one story, and a nice brown color made of brick with a high arch above the door. There were large windows that were covered with blinds and curtains, and a stone pathway in front of the house. It was very nice.

He watched as Sinclair's large frame emerged from the front door, holding stacks of cash as he met Nalani and Skye at the door.

"Daddy!" Skye exclaimed, wrapping her arms around his legs in a hug, making Sinclair smile.

"Girl you was just with me last night." He chuckled, leaning over to kiss her face while she shrugged.

"Go play with Rambo while I talk to mama." He told her, and she nodded, holding her arms out for Nalani.

"See you later mommy. I love you." She hugged around her neck after being picked up, and Nalani kissed her cheek.

"I love you more puddin'. Call me, okay?" She rubbed her back before putting her down, and she nodded again, then took off in the house to go play with Sinclair's Cane Corso.

"Who in yo car?" Sinclair wrapped Nalani up in a hug, and she didn't let it linger too long before she pulled away.

"Kyzion. That's for me?" She asked, pointing to the money while looking at him, and he nodded.

"Why he with you?"

"I picked him up from therapy. Now if you don't have any more questions, may I have my money please?" She held her hands out, and he chuckled, putting the cash in her hands.

"I ordered some groceries to the house. They comin' a lil' later. You need anything?" He asked, disregarding that Kyzion was there because he didn't think anything of it.

"No, and I paid the rents this month, so you don't have to worry about that." She told him, referring to the rent for her parents, and his parents as well. The house that was now hers had been paid off for quite some time now, so they didn't have to worry about that.

Since both of them had great incomes, they took care of their parents, obviously. Usually the mortgages and expenses for their parents came out of Sinclair and Nalani's joint account, but since they were no longer together, that account no longer existed.

Nalani decided to handle it this month, just because she felt like it. She knew that Sinclair would give her money anyways, so it didn't even put a dent in her pockets.

"Why? I told you I had that." He frowned at her, a response she knew he'd give. He hated when she spent her own money.

"I just felt like it. Thank you for this though. I have to go now, so take care of my baby. And don't give her too much junk food Sin." She furrowed her eyebrows at him near the end, and he chuckled, holding his hands up in surrender.

"You gone call me?" He stood where he was, watching her figure once she turned around.

"Nope." She held up the peace sign, and he smirked, watching her ass move in the skin tight dress she wore.

"You sexy as hell Marie," He called out once she made it to her car, and she ignored him after holding up the middle finger, making him laugh.

Nalani climbed into her truck, and once she closed the door she grabbed her Chanel purse from the backseat.

"Hey boo. You okay?" She looked at Kyzion while putting the cash in her bag, and he nodded.

"He said you sexy. Why you didn't say thank you?" A sly sarcastic grin formed on his face as she pulled off from Sinclair's house, and she chuckled while rolling her eyes.

"I'd rather hear that from you." She told him, and he chuckled as well.

"That word too grown for me." He replied, and she laughed, making his smile return.

"Not you saying that's too grown when you literally remind everybody how grown you are."

"Nah 'cause my Ama be acting like I'm still 14. She hate the fact that I'm an adult now." He chuckled, grabbing his soda from the cup holder.

"You her baby. I'm like that with Skye too, even though she's not grown. I still see her like I did when she was only a day old. Seeing your kids grow up is so aggy." She shook her head, and he laughed.

"Skye not even four yet." He looked over at her, and she shrugged. It was all the same to her.

"Does Sinclair always give you money like that?" He randomly asked, and she looked over at him as well.

"Yes."

"Oh. He's a drug dealer?" He followed up with another question that made her laugh again.

"I like to say he's a pharmacist." She chuckled, putting her eyes back on the road.

"Nice. Jon is a 'pharmacist' too." He told her, and her eyebrows rose in surprise.

"Really? Wow. I been knowing y'all for years and I barely know shit foreal." She frowned, taken aback.

"Yeah. They try to be secretive about it but I'm not dumb. That's why they're that rich. He scams old people too." Kyzion chuckled at the last part, and then frowned after seeing her pass the exit that would take them to his house.

"Where are you going?"

"To my house. Amanda told me to take you with me because nobody's at y'all house." She told him, and his frown deepened.

"I can stay home by myself. I don't wanna go to your house."

"Gasp," She held her chest and used an onomatopoeia for dramatic affect.

"I'm serious Nalani. Take me home." He frowned at her, and she looked over, laughing.

"Do you have your key?" She asked, and he shook his head no, then a defeated look replaced as his expression.

"Fine." He folded his arms while slouching in his seat, and she laughed again.

"Kyzion are you serious right now?" Nalani stood in front of him as he remained in the car, the two now at her house.

"I don't feel comfortable in places I've never been. I'ma stay in here." His phone tilted horizontally as he played Call of Duty on it.

Nalani took his phone out of his hands, and he frowned at her, confused.

She matched his frown as she folded her arms across her chest, and shifted her weight to rest on one side of her body while staring at him.

"It's not colorful, and it's quiet, and it smells good too. Just go inside, and if you don't like it, I'll wait out here with you." She suggested, and he eyed her for a few seconds.

He huffed, his tall and slender frame emerging from the car, towering over her smaller figure. She turned him around, and he smacked his lips after she jumped on his back.

"Stop pulling your hair. You're okay." She reassured with a small kiss on his cheek, and he ignored her, continuing to pull at his dread while carrying her to her house.

"Fine. Don't listen to me then Mr.Sassy Ass."

"I'm not." He muttered, and she gasped, making him crack a smile. She was so dramatic.

"Lean over so I can open it." She tapped his shoulder, knowing he didn't like touching surfaces he wasn't familiar with.

He leaned down, and she twisted her knob, then pushed the door open, gesturing him to walk inside. Then, she got off his back to close and lock the door, watching him analyze his surroundings.

From his view at the front door, he could see her spacious living room that contained a large white sofa with gray and pink plush pillows on it. In front of it was a small marble table with matching coasters. There were also tall windows on the side that had soft pink colored curtains.

Then he looked over at the dining area, seeing another white marble table, this time larger, and there were white cushioned table chairs around it.

The floors looked to be brand new or freshly polished, and had rectangular matte white porcelain wood tiles. Her decor was very nice and put together.

In addition to what she said, her house smelled of pure vanilla from the air fresheners lodged into the wall outlets.

"You okay?" Nalani asked, standing on the side of him, and he nodded.

"It's nice. Can I sit?" He pointed to the couch, and she smiled. She loved his mannerisms. He was so polite and adorable.

"Yes, but you have to take your shoes off." She pointed to a rack near her door, and his eyebrows furrowed into an uncomfortable expression.

"Can I not? Please? I'll sit in there." He pointed to the dining area, and she moved to be in front of him, looking up at him.

"My floors are soft. Come here, feel." She pulled him down to squat with her, then placed her hand over his, guiding it to rub her clean floors.

"I mop every morning. They're clean." She assured, and he met her gaze, then nodded a few seconds later.

He pulled his shoes off and placed them neatly on the rack, thankful that he was wearing socks. She guided him over to her couch, and he sat down, keeping his hands in his lap.

"I'm going to go put on some different clothes, then I'll be back, okay?" She told him, and he nodded again.

Kyzion looked down as his phone buzzed with a message from his Ama, and he chuckled at her response after he'd called her by her first name.

He put his phone in the pocket of his sweats, waiting for Nalani to come back because he didn't know what else to do.

A few minutes later she came from down the hall, now dressed in a black pair of Calvin Klein boxers and a fitted muscle shirt.

"Boo?" She bucked at him after catching him staring, and he didn't flinch, nor did he remove his eyes from her.

"I never seen you dressed down before. You're always dressed up." He told her, watching as she sat next to him.

"Never know who you gone see when you step out the house so I dress to impress." She shrugged while chuckling, and he shook his head at her.

Nalani continued talking, and he zoned out per usual, scanning his eyes over her thick thighs, and drifted them down to her toes that were polished in white French tips.

He slouched down further on the couch, leisurely spreading his legs to get more comfortable, now watching her as she rambled to him about nothing in particular.

All she ever did was talk, and he loved it. She could carry an entire conversation by herself with only small inputs from Kyzion. The fact that he just sat there and listened made her happy.

"Whatttt?" She dragged out while her face flushed red from how he was staring at her, becoming nervous.

"You talk so much." He told her, cracking a smile once she laughed.

"Were you even listening to me?" She chuckled, laying the side of her face on the couch to be in front of his, and he nodded.

"Yeah. I wasn't paying attention though." He said, and she rolled her eyes while her smile remained.

"Well, you pretending to is enough for me. Move, let me sit with you." She referred to his hands that rested on his lap, and he moved them, letting her sit there instead. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and he smiled as she left a few kisses on his cheek.

"You wanna go on a date soon? Maybe to go feed the ducks with Skye?" He asked, and her smile spread further.

"Yessss." She kissed all over his face, then laughed once he did. He made her so happy.

I love Sinclair. Lol
