     'DEAR MARIPOSA,

I'm halfway through one of the novels that you recommended. I cannot believe that fernando would betray cecilia like that! she better regain her throne and overthrow him'.

felicia cracked a smile, as recently, she's been feeling a little stressed.

after telling her mother and sisters about the madrigal party, they were more than adamant on attending — leaving the oldest diaz slightly troubled.

apparently, even phoebe was eager to go, because she had recently befriended a boy who just so happens to be a madrigal.

sighing, the oldest diaz focused her attention back onto the navy notebook.

'anyways, here's my truth for you: are you attending the madrigal party in a few days?'

felicia tilted her head to the side. there was no way that that was her truth. suspicious, the sixteen year-old continued reading.

'if so, leave the journal under the catering table.

     signed, camaleón'.

'aha! so there is a catch to it'.

humming, felicia debated how to sneak the notebook under the table without anyone noticing. she wasn't ready to let the mystery boy figure out her identity yet.

"hmm...perhaps, there's a way...", she slyly smiled.

the day of dolores and mariano's engagement party was livelier than felicia's will to just pass up on the opportunity to meet more strangers.

"FELICIA, CAN YOU GRAB THE CAKE PLEASE?! THANK YOU, MIJA!", daniela yelled, as she frantically made sure that the twins' hair was brushed and braided.

daniela's oldest daughter had then briskly met her mother and sisters at the center of their house, holding the tres leches cake that was placed into a bright red container.

"felicia! what are you wearing?! I thought I told you to dress in the blue pollera!", daniela stressed.

"I-I couldn't find my blue hairpiece, so I changed into my yellow one", felicia explained, earning a disappointed sigh from her mother.

"and this is why I told you to keep a tab on your own things! I cannot cleanup after you when I have your two sisters to worry about", daniela reprimanded.

     "right...sorry", felicia apologized.

"it's okay mi amor. let's just go now before we're late", the forty year-old woman stated, grabbing phoebe and penelope's hand, as felicia followed behind with the engagement gift.

upon arriving at the madrigals' house, the four were astonished by the rosy pink flowers blooming across the walls and rooftop. the crimson window waved at the others, as toucans and various other animals loitered around the ravishing infrastructure.

at the door, was the nineteen year-old luisa, who assisted with heavy presents and those who needed an extra hand.

on the other side, was the fifteen year-old camilo, who had shape-shifted into almost every guest — which of course included the diaz twins.

     "CAMILO!!", penelope shouted with enthusiasm.

"PENELOPE! PHOEBE! pleasure seeing you two here!!", the boy responded, giving the twins a high-five, as he transformed back into his original form.

"you must be mrs. diaz! and you are..."

camilo's gaze had then shifted onto the tan girl, who's cheekbones were defined by a sort of ochre tone, and pampered by a light rouge.

her usual unconfined waves of hair was bundled into a braid that was pinned to the back of her head, right above the nape of the neck. two golden dandelions bloomed from felicia's soil-colored hair — matching her plain amber pollera.

"felicia diaz", the sixteen year-old softly introduced, extending her hand out, as camilo jerked his hand forward to connect them.

"camilo...madrigal! camilo madrigal!", the boy replied, gently squeezing felicia's hand and giving it a light shake, as he displayed a weaker version of his usual grin.

"nice to meet you, camilo. if you don't mind, could you direct me to the catering table? we brought a cake", felicia stated, as her other hand felt like it was about to give out anytime soon.

"o-oh, right! it's to your left. not far, I mean—I can help you—"

"I think I can handle it. thank you", felicia smiled, politely slipping her hand out of camilo's, as she headed inside with the rest of her family.

"yeah, and WELCOME TO ENCANTO!!", he irrationally shouted, clearing his throat afterwards, as he turned back towards the other guests.

mirabel — who was watching from the sidelines — had hummed in amusement.

"hm~ how interesting", the fifteen year-old madrigal muttered to herself.

"what is?", dolores asked, seemingly to have popped out of nowhere, causing mirabel to flinch.

"ah, dolores!! what's interesting? I don't know", mirabel awkwardly chuckled, "but you know, my friend brought you a cake. she's new to encanto along with her family!"

"oh, I think I heard about them. the diaz family, right?"

"yep! anyways, you should get back to mariano. wouldn't want you to stray too far away from your lovely fiancé", the younger madrigal brought up.

"right, thank you mirabel", dolores smiled, patting her cousin's shoulder, before heading off to go find her soon-to-be husband.

meanwhile mirabel maneuvered through the crowd towards her friend, felicia watched as her sisters had run off with the other children of the village.

"felicia, I'm going to go greet señora alma. do you want to come with?", daniela asked.

"oh, I—"

"hey felicia!!", mirabel called out, waving to the oldest diaz, as daniela had quickly dismissed her original idea.

"hello, mrs. diaz! I'm mirabel madrigal", the girl with glasses informed.

"good afternoon, mirabel! felicia didn't tell me that she was friends with a madrigal", daniela happily gasped, elated that her daughter had made at least one friend.

"oh, well...we met at the library. we started off as book buddies so..."

"that's lovely to hear. felicia, why don't you go hangout with mirabel? I'm going to go greet the hostess".

"of course! abuela's currently next to the table of presents. I'll see you later, mrs. diaz", mirabel waved.

felicia sighed a breath of relief, as her mother had left.

"felicia, you know, yellow's your color!", mirabel grinned, gripping onto her companion's forearms, as she twirled her around.

"you really think so? mamá insisted that I wear blue, but I had upset her by loosing the matching hairpin", the older of the two explained.

"well, you look great! beautiful as always", mirabel complimented, earning a soft chuckle from felicia.

the sixteen year-old had then tucked a strand of her loose curl behind her ear, only for it to fall back to its original place a few moments later.

"by the way, did you...", felicia glanced around in suspicion, making sure that her voice was faint.

"yep! it's already there", mirabel whispered, her eyes flickering towards the table of food, that had a cherry red tablecloth draping over it, therefore hiding the navy notebook under it.

"thank you. I wasn't sure how else I was supposed to get it under there without notebook boy finding out", felicia admitted.

"I'll always help as much as I can!", mirabel declared.

"that's very sweet of you, mirabel. also, I just wanted to say that your house is truly magnificent!", felicia genuinely complimented.

as if the house were blushing, a series of flowers that were protruding from the walls had puffed out some petals, serenading the girl.

"oh would you look at that! there's a pretty girl next to my not so pretty sister", a delicate voice intruded.

"ugh, isabela!", mirabel groaned, rolling her eyes in the process, as felicia diverted her attention to the twenty-one year-old.

"isabela madrigal. you must be my sister's friend, felicia", the older madrigal deduced.

"indeed. it's a pleasure to meet you, isabela", felicia feebly said.

"not really", mirabel muttered, causing her oldest sister to shoot her a glare.

"anyways, if you don't mind me, I'm going to head to the dance floor. after all, unlike someone, I can actually dance", isabela smirked.

     mirabel offendedly gasped.

"I CAN DANCE! BETTER THAN YOU!"

"oh yeah? prove it!", isabela challenged, crossing her arms in a taunting manner.

"felicia, give me a few minutes please. I need to go show someone that their accusations are beyond accurate!", the fifteen year-old madrigal bitterly proclaimed, as she stomped towards the dance floor alongside isabela.

felicia only lightly chuckled, as she decided that she'd just take a short tour of the madrigal house. after all, it wasn't everyday that you got to see the appealing interior of a magical house.

shuffling around the pods of people, felicia obliviously failed to notice a particular madrigal occasionally glancing her way.

"camilo, what're you staring at?", pepa questioned, for the boy was supposed to be addressing the guests.

"ah, nothing. anyways, pardon me, mamí. I've got to go get some food!"
