《29》
Reece stepped out of the cabin with the biggest smile on his face. He shut the door behind him as quietly as he could and ran a hand across his chin, his mind wandering back to last night as he mindlessly walked towards the dining area. As he passed Alessio's room, the wooden mahogany door swung open and the man himself walked out. He too had a grin on his face. His hair was wet and sticking to his face in various spots, dripping with water. Reece tilted his head to the side curiously as he watched him step out with a towel in his hand. Alessio, noticing he had an audience, looked up at Reece and his grin widened.
"Hey man." He greeted and Reece snickered at him in return.
"Someone's unusually happy." Reece commented as he waited for him to catch up and stuffed his hands in his shorts pocket.
Alessio shrugged, bringing the towel to his hair, "What? Can't I be happy to see my friend?" He said, drying his hair.
Reece chuckled and shook his head, "You could be, but we both know you're not a morning person." He said, remembering the first day they woke up and how grumpy he had been in the morning.
Until he saw Casey.
Alessio chuckled and draped his now damp towel around his neck. It had barely helped keep his hair dry, but Reece wasn't going to say anything. The guy had a thick head of hair. Alessio suddenly frowned and looked back at their cabins, just then realizing that someone was missing. He looked back at Reece.
"Where's Ashley?"
Reece shrugged, "Asleep."
"Right. Isn't she joining us for breakfast?"
Reece's lip twitched at the corner as he turned to Alessio, "I'll make sure to grab some for her."
Alessio narrowed his eyes at him, even as he turned back to the path ahead of them and walked with a slight bounce in his step. He pursed his lips and looked away once he realized he was doing the same thing. Casey was sound asleep in his room, snoring away and hugging his pillow for dear life. He cringed and subconsciously rubbed his neck underneath the towel, remembering how rough of a sleeper she was and how she almost suffocated him with her vice like grip on his neck last night. He let out a scoff, having been caught off guard when she suddenly reached for her neck and demanded him to go faster.
The two of them were quiet as they walked together, each of them in their own minds when a voice interrupted them halfway into reaching their destination, "Looks like we're all late."
Two startled faces turned towards the voice and smirked. Seb jogged the rest of the distance between them with Brock not so far behind him with a frown on his face.
"Morning." Seb greeted with a smile as he stuffed his hands in his pockets and nodded at Alessio and Reece once they greeted him back.
Brock paused in his step, his frown deepening before he tilted his head to the side, "Why do you all look so cheerful? It's eight in the morning." He grumbled before he caught up with them.
They disregarded him with silence and walked towards the dinning area, leaving Brock staring between them like a lost puppy. He cleared his throat and pursed his lips, slowly putting two and two together.
"You all got laid, didn't you?"
"Brock!" Seb yelled, catching all of them off guard. He let out a sigh and rubbed the back of his neck. Reece scoffed once he noticed the bright red glow of his ears, that was exposed as Seb pushed his hair back as well.
"What? It couldn't be more obvious." Brock continued with a shrug, a smile now gracing his brightened face.
Reece stuffed his hands in his pockets and shook his head at the guy, having nothing to say and apparently, neither did the other two as they all walked the remaining distance towards the dining space. He pursed his lips and watched a few students remained in their seats, chatting animatedly with each other. Half of the long, mahogany table was empty with seats pushed tightly against in and empty plates and cutlery on it. He frowned and scanned the area for a familiar, short, bulky old man who was supposed to be in charge of them.
He let out a snicker when he spotted him standing in front of the waiters that were still a few feet from the table. In between him and the serves was yet another long table with about four large buffet chafing dishes, with a large maroon cloth laid out beneath them that stretched out from one end of the table to the next. In their hands where a set of kitchen tongs, ladles and serving spoons as they stood on stand by for anyone who needed an extra round of food. From where he was, Reece could very strongly smell the pleasant aroma of bacon, eggs and sausages as they quickly closed the rest of the distance, cutting off the path carved for them and stepping on the bright, green grass in front of them.
Mr. Heine, as if sensing trouble, snapped his eyes away from his golden brown, perfectly soft looking pile of french toast, hefty bhajia serving and tiny bowl of freshly cut fruits towards the men. He furrowed his thick, black eyebrows—at Brock specifically—as he waved his free right hand at the server to add even more bhajias to his plate. Reece pursed his lips at the server's bewildered expression, watching from the corner of his eyes as she fumbled for the serving spoon on the table and hurriedly scooped two spoonfuls then gently dumped them onto his plate.
"Have you just now woken up? Did I not specifically say to be here by seven am?" He asked, looking away from Brock, but only so he could pick three ketchup packets from a bowl next to the chafing dish that was yet to be empty.
"We overslept, sir." Alessio said, his own lips twitching as his eyes briefly dropped to the lecturer's plate then back to meet his hard, narrowed eyes.
"I bet you did." Heine said, looking at each of them, before he shook his head and let out what could only be described as a grunt from the back of his throat. He cocked his head at them from the farthest end of the buffet table, "—make it quick then. They don't have all day." He paused as he shook his head and began to close the distance between him and his students, "—and be nice enough to take some food down to your girlfriends while your at it."
Reece's eyes widened before he let out a cough and pursed his lips. Bewildered, he watched Seb choke on his own spit and grinned as Alessio shot his large, tattooed hand up and patted the poor man's back. He could tell he was hitting him harder than needed because of the way Seb furrowed his eyebrows at Alessio and scrunched up his nose.
"Some of us are sadly not taken! Lemme know if you want some company toni-oof-!" Brock begun, but Reece cut him off by quickly grabbing an unlucky piece of bread—that was conveniently on the dish nearest to his side—and shoving it into the man's mouth. Mr. Heine, luckily, only sent Brock a glance from the corner of his eyes and disregarded what he was about to say.
"Keep that up and you'll be the new Austin." Reece commented with a small smile on his face before he rubbed his hands together and eyed the food beside each of them.
Seb, who was finally done having a coughing fit, let out a deep, breathy chuckle, "I thought I was the only one who noticed." He said as he watched Alessio walk ahead of them and come back with seven heaps of plain, black plates.
Brock scoffed and reached for one first, "Please, him and the old coach make it so obvious they're hooking up. The guy squeezes his ass every chance he gets in a game. Why do you think people prefer basketball over football in Grudgeford? No one wants to third wheel that much." He revealed as he squeezed his way in between Reece and Seb to get to the bhajias that were in front of both of them.
Reece shook his head, knowing that he could have walked around him and Seb but decided not to just because.
"I've been to a few of the games before too. Felt like a scene out of a drama to me." Alessio began as he set the plates down on the table and stood in front of Reece, "—every time Austin scored he would look at the coach and 'subtly' blow him a kiss, if the coach is close to him he gives him a very exaggerated slap on the ass. It gets very gay, very fast." He continued with a chuckles, before he looked at Brock, "—no offense."
"Some taken." Brock said from halfway down the buffet table with a plate almost as full as Heine's, "—speaking of gay, where are Blake and Jason? Should we get some food for them too?"
Seb shook his head, "They're fine, they already ate together and headed out surfing," He paused, picking up two plate after Alessio did and followed Brock's lead, "—they're not gay though."
Reece scoffed as he looked up at the server and sent him a nod in greeting, to which he sent one back and gave him two extra strips of bacon, "Thank you." Reece said giddily as he walk on along the buffet table.
Brock snickered as well and sent a deadpan look at Seb, "I know. Those two are just fun to tease."
Alessio shook his head as he reached down to grab a fork that must have fallen a long time ago and handed it to the server in front of him, "Even when they're not here."
Brock grinned and lowered his gaze to meet Alessio's green and blue one, grinning, "Even then."
Seb let out a breathy chuckle once again, before he filled one of his plates with nothing but fruits and the other a simple, classical breakfast with two eggs, two strips of bacon and four slices of pancakes. Reece raised an eyebrow at him own plates, which were both filled with an unhealthy amount of bacon, eggs, towers of pancakes with way too much syrup and two large tubs of ice cream; one strawberry favoured and the other neapolitan, because he couldn't tell which one Ashley preferred. He looked back at Seb and caught him lift his gaze from his plates, with a looked that screamed nothing but disappointment.
Reece shrugged and placed one of his plates down, but only so he could pick up the right cutlery and place them on the plates before he picked it up again. He looked back at Seb only to find him reach for a tiny bowl of freshly cut fruits and place it on Alessio's plate. Alessio looked up at him with a raised, questioning eyebrow; to which Seb only answered with a shrug.
"Trust me, you'll need it."
"Alright lover boys, I'm gonna head out and meet up with the others. Have fun doing whatever. Don't forget we're going back to stupid finals tomorrow." Brock said, not giving Alessio a chance to question what Seb meant. Either that or Brock just didn't notice.
Reece nodded at Brock and watched him walk away with his food towards the beach. He then looked at Seb and Alessio and waited for them to finish filling—or somewhat filling in Seb's case—their plates before they all started heading back to their cabins. Reece made sure to tell the serving crew that there will be no one else coming and that they could leave before they headed back. A smile automatically curled it's way across his lips as his mind once again drifted to yesterday night. He couldn't wait to see her and officially ask her out. She had caught his eye way before they even met, and she didn't even know it. He had seen her enter the reception and talk to Nancy, holding what had looked like the heaviest piece of luggage he had ever seen. At first he had wondered why she didn't just leave them by the gate like everyone else and have them taken care of, but after he looked at her closely, he realized she must have been a new student.
The more he stared at her the deeper he drowned. He began to notice the little beads of sweat that trickled down her forehead as she waited for Nancy to finish talking on the phone. He noticed how she shifted on her feet and angrily let out an impatient huff as the secretary's conversation continued to drag out. He had been close enough to tell that she was, in fact, doing nothing on her phone and was swiping aimlessly at the home screen, as she waited for her escort. He noticed how she glared at Austin and Nancy when she thought no one was looking while they talked about her fingerprint, and how she turned back and stuck her tiny slightly crooked middle finger up at them, when they finally let her walk away alone.
When he saw her walking around the T.S.D.A, he was curious to know why she had gone all the way over there, and a part of him was worried that she was up to no good so early into her admission. He had been relieved to know she was exploring the grounds. A clumsy move on her part, knowing that if he hadn't stopped Minsook from doing anything, Ashley would have been jumped, as was the regular. He grinned to himself as he recalled seeing her again when he first finally got the balls to talk to her.
Letting out a breath, he waved at Alessio who was already halfway into his room and walked towards his own, wondering whether she would still be there. A part of him was scared that she would be gone and would be hiding in her room out of regret for what happened between them last night. Even though he knew that she wasn't the type to run.
He pulled the handle open with his elbow and used his hip to push the door open, causing it to screech loudly against his will. He grinned at the scene in front of him and leaned on the door frame as he watched her for a few extra beats. She was laid on the couch with one of her leg propped up on the couch, his TV remote in her hand and her hair tied up into a nice, slightly wet mess bun. She was wearing his tank top from yesterday and had nothing but her own brown panties underneath it. Reece brought his lower lip between his teeth and bit down as he felt himself getting hard at the thoughts that couldn't help but scream in his head. He shut the door with his heel and meet her gorgeous brown eyes that had been watching him too. She smiled and sat up then crossed her legs over each other, leaving some space for him to seat in front of her.
Once he was seated and had placed the plates on the table in front of them, Ashley scooted closer towards him and brought her lips to his cheek, her smile not leaving her face, even as she spoke.
"Good morning, you gorgeous thing, you."

"Wake up." A familiar voice said as they sighed and sat on the edge of Eros' bed, "—today, we go horse riding." He finished.
Eros let out a sigh and opened his eyes. Gritting his teeth, he squinted up at Mika as he towered over him with an expectant smile on his face. Although it didn't seem like it, he had no choice but to do what he says, otherwise it would break his heart. Ever since he decieded to join Mika, he made it his goal to make sure that the two of them spent a lot of time together. If Eros was being honest, he enjoyed spending time with him, but on this particular day, he was feeling unusually lazy and uninterested.
Despite that however, he sat up on his bed and nodded at the man who woke him up. Turning to his left, Eros spared the little glass clock on his bedside table a glance and nearly let out a groan. It was six in the morning. He let out a sigh and swung his legs off the bed and rested his feet on the soft, warm dark brown fluffy carpet below him. He looked up at Mika in time to catch the shirt he threw his way. having walked towards his closet at some point while Eros struggled to wake up. Raising on his feet, Eros stretched out his bare arms and pulled the dark blue polo shirt in his hand over his head, before he paused and looked at Mika. He pursed his lips and met his awaiting gaze for a few more beats, before he gingerly pulled the shirt off and folded it.
"Right—." He paused as he turned away and placed it on his bed, "—I should shower first." he finished before he nodded at Mika and walked towards his bathroom in nothing but his black boxers that had a big, single brown maple leaf on its bottom right that stretched to its waist.
"Nice boxers." Mika teased, causing Eros stop his hand mid air as he was about to open the simple, wooden door that would have led to his escape. He pursed his lips, feeling a weird sense of deja vu, before he shook his head and high tailed it into the bathroom, his ears burning with embarrassment.
What a great way to start the day.
