THIS WOULD BE THE ONE time she'd miss the Fire Nation. After traveling ( fleeing from nearly getting caught ) for two years, fleeing home with the help of her uncle Iroh, ( Y/N ) has now ended up from running from the Earth Kingdom to a deserted land of nothing but a cold winters, the sun peaking through the grey clouds with not much of a result. This would be when constantly being surrounded by fire would come in handy, but anything was better than being back there.
Broken pieces of ice floated through the waters as ( Y/N ) paddled through.
It was like any other day out on the water, quiet and lonely β just her, but then a sudden gust of wind blew through her hair. "Huh."
She shrugged it off, continuing to paddle through the icy waters, but then a rumbling sound came from beneath her, making it impossible to ignore. She craned her neck to the other side of the canoe to get a peak of the water, squinting her eyes to check for something.
"Weird," ( Y/N ) muttered.
Just then, a force from the ocean floor got ( Y/N ) caught in a stream of water carrying her along, causing her to let out a scream before finally landing on a snowy platform. She huffed, using her arms as support to pull herself up only to find her canoe already floating away.
She threw her arms up with a sigh. "Dammit!"
"Who are you?" Someone asked from behind her.
She turned around, seeing two siblings β one older brother and one sister both in blue fur. A dumbfounded expression washed over the older brother's face. The girl was focused, gazing up at a large ice burg which was glowing a bright blue light. Before ( Y/N ) could respond, the ground began to shake and they looked up to see the ice burg cracking, and a blast of glowing blue light beaming into the sky.
( Y/N ) shared a questioning look with the older brother, when they turned back they found a figure silhouetted in blur light, standing right on top of the ice. A symbol on his head was glowing bright blue before fading away, ending with the figure falling down from the ice. Sokka turned around back to the sea, seeing their canoe floating back to them, and a hopeful look formed on his features.
"Cmon, let's go home," Sokka ordered. "Nice meeting you, whatever your name is β don't worry, I'm sure someone will come."
( Y/N ) scolded at him. "Excuse me?"
"What? You excepting the cavalry?"
( Y/N ) sighed. "Well, anything's better than you, I suppose."
Sokka sighed, rolling his eyes and turning to find Katara trying to lift him up. He raised an eyebrow, putting his hand down. "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! What are you doing?"
"You're not thinking of leaving him?" Katara questioned.
"Katara, a strange, glowy iceberg just exploded and left behind a mysterious little bald person," Sokka rambled. "What part of that makes you think: great, let's bring him home?"
"Sokka, he's just a kid," Katara stated before glancing over at ( Y/N ). "And... what's your name?"
"( Y/N )."
"β( Y/N ) needs help too. We can't just leave them out here,"
Sokka shook his head with a sigh. "I don't like this, but why listen to me? I'm just responsible for the safety of the village."

NEWS SPREAD FAST WITH THE TWO NEW arrivals in the Southern Water Tribe β ( Y/N ) came up with the lie she was just a traveler who had to flee the fire nation's army after an incident in the Earth Kingdom ( which was slightly true ). The little boy was brought back into a hut and placed onto a bed covered in blankets.
A group of young teens gathered inside the hut, surrounding the young boy full of curiosity and staring down at him with judgmental gazes. ( Y/N ) stayed besides Katara and Sokka, in her red robes.
"He looks dead," one of the young warriors commented.
"What's that mark on his head?" Another questioned.
From behind, Sokka and Katara' gran gram walked into the crowd of teens. "Let me take a look."
She pulled down the blankets and inspected the symbols on his hands and forehead. She held back a knowing smile, turning back with a gasp. "It can't be."
"What is it, gran gram?" Katara asked.
"This is an Airbender."
A choir of gasps filled the room, even ( Y/N ). Sokka stepped forward, looking down at the little Airbender. "That's impossible! Airbender don't exist anymore!"
"Well, we won't get any answers until he wakes up," katara said. "We need to let him rest."
Everyone nodded and walked out of the hut. Katara glanced back at the boy before heading out with the others. She walked over to ( Y/N ), who looked around β unsure of what to do. "I'll show you around."
