CHAPTER THREE:
˗ˏˋmistake or not?'ˎ˗
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀

  THE SUN SHINED right onto mike's eyes, causing him to wake right up. it was the second day of school and the boy wasn't very excited to go to school like usual, other than to see his friends and to see veronica. sure he only knew the girl for a day, but he really liked her.

  after mike got out of bed, he headed to the bathroom. mike took a quick shower and got dressed. while in the process of fixing his hair, he heard a knock. the boy opened the door and rolled his eyes.

  it was his older sister, nancy. " could you please hurry up? i have to get going."

  " into jonathan's pants?" mike crossed his arms.

  " what the hell is wrong with you?! of course not! i do have a job you know." nancy shouted.

" well if it isn't true, why are you so mad about it?!" mike shouted back.

nancy started to get angrier but before she could say anything else, karen stopped the chaos.

" what's going on?" karen turned to both teens.

" mike is taking to long in the bathroom and he's making up shitty lies about me." nancy explained.

" language!" karen hit nancy's shoulder.

  " i'm not even taking long and all i said was the truth." mike yelled.

nancy stuck up her middle finger at mike. " you're such a lier! i'm just trying to get ready for work."

" well i'm just trying to get ready for school."

karen then cut in, " both of you calm down! mike just try to hurry up and nancy, be more patient."

  " whatever." nancy said, going to her room.

  mike just shut the bathroom door and began to work on his hair again.

  mike got to school a bit early to hangout with his friends before class started. it was something him and his friends had done regularly.

  " hey guys." mike smiled at his friends.

  all the boys waved at mike and a few seconds later, lucas went up to him. " dustin told us that you went over to his house yesterday after school. he said that you told him about this girl in your math class."

" first of all, her name's veronica and i wanted to tell you guys all at the same time but dustin forgot his math book and i completely forgot to give it to him at lunch, so i just decided to go over to his house and drop it off. not to mention, i just needed to tell someone about it." mike explained.

  lucas looked at his friends and smiled. " ooo mike has a crush on veronica!"

mike couldn't even deny what lucas had said. he knew it was true." okay, maybe i do."

" i knew it!" lucas exclaimed.

mike shook his head, " it's not even a big deal."

the boys just laughed and mike couldn't be mad at his friends, so he laughed along with them.

  thirty minutes passed, which meant class had begun. mike was actually looking forward for class since he was thinking about asking veronica if she wanted to hangout with him and his friends after school. it was a pretty risky question but the boy had hope she'd say yes.

  once mike saw the young brunette enter class, he walked over to her before she could sit down. " hey veronica."

  " oh hey." veronica answered in a confused tone.

  " i know this might sound weird but i was wondering if you'd like to hangout with my friends and i after school?" the boy explained nervously.

  " totally!" veronica said without any hesitation.

  mike smiled, " great! i'll catch you after school."

  veronica nodded and walked over to her seat. the brunette then realized what the fuck she had just agreed to. she obviously wasn't thinking straight. sure she had no plans, however, she knew that max and el hated mike. all veronica hoped for was for max and el to not spot her with mike after school.

  lunchtime had finally arrived. mike was pretty excited to tell his friends that veronica would be hanging with them after school.

mike slammed his lunch-tray onto the table, " guys, i got some exciting news!"

will took a bite out of his sandwich, " what is it?"

" i asked veronica during math class if she'd like to hangout with us after school and she said yes!" mike exclaimed.

lucas's eyes widen, dustin slapped his hand onto his mouth and will's sandwich fell from his hands.

" you mean, you asked a girl to hangout with us?" lucas asked.

" yeah? what's wrong with that?"

will shook his head, " we've never had a girl hangout with us before."

  will was right, they'd never hung out with a girl before. when mike had dated el, they usually only hung out together alone. mike didn't really like that since he never got time to hangout with his friends anymore. that was one of the many reasons why they had broken up.

" what does a girl even have in common with a boy?" dustin questioned.

" uh well, nothing but that's not the point. i know we've never had a girl hangout with us but i didn't want to ask her to hangout with me alone. i don't want to make the same mistake that i did with el." mike explained.

lucas took a deep breath, " fine but we better not do any girly shit."

dustin and will nodded and turned to mike.

" you guys are really stupid." mike playfully rolled his eyes.

" anyways, let's talk about something else before lunch is over." dustin said.

  after a long stressful day, school was over and veronica was in front of the school, waiting for mike and his friends to arrive. luckily, the brunette didn't see max nor el which meant they probably had already left the school campus. oddly, veronica still felt a bit worried about max and el spotting her with mike but she just told herself that everything would be okay.

  probably after five minutes, veronica saw a group of teen boys approach her. one being mike and the others being his friends. the girl took a deep breath and smiled. " hey mike. these must be your friends."

  " you got that right! that's lucas, that's dustin and that's will." mike pointed at each boy.

  veronica looked at each boy quickly and greeted them all with a wave. " nice to meet you guys, i'm veronica.

  all the boys smiled at veronica nervously. it got silent after that until mike spoke up.

  mike laughed awkwardly, " i think we should all get going now."

  " where are we going to hangout anyways?" veronica asked.

  mike knew veronica was more of the girly type but he didn't want to disappoint his friends. besides, he really didn't want to do anything girly as well. " oh um, how about the palace? you know, the arcade."

  the boys looked pretty satisfied while veronica looked a bit anxious. max had usually hung out at the arcade after school with el if she had nothing to do so, this made the chances of seeing max and el even more higher then ever. had veronica made a mistake by agreeing to hangout with mike?
