Naina stared at the ceiling disturbed by some thoughts. A comfortable silence prevailed in the room, she switched sides trying to sleep but was unable to sleep. She stared at her husband who was still working, typing something in his laptop simultaneously sipping his coffee. His chocolatey hairs were disheveled, while his first few buttons of shirt were undone making him look hot. Naina sighed, mentally smacking her head for staring at her husband so shamelessly.

She got up and walked towards the couch where he was sitting and laid on the couch resting her head on his lap, pulling the duvet close to herself. Sameer was startled by her sudden move but did not speak anything and continued doing his work. He felt her nuzzling into his waist. He heard her sobs were stifled at first as she attempted to hide her grief, then overcame by the wave of emotions which broke her down entirely. All her defences washed away in those salty tears. Her cries still had a rawness to it, as if  the pain was still an open wound.

"Khaza." He mumbled in concern trying to look at her face but she held onto him, digging her face in his waist while her fists had held his shirt so tight she could feel the sweat trapped inside them.

"I-I don't want to go there. M-Mujhe nahi jana vaha." She uttered as her voice quivered while her body evidently shivered. Sameer placed his palm on her head, unable to comprehend what she was trying to say.

"Naina." He called her name, pulling her with slight force to face him. He made her sit properly and held her by her shoulders. He touched her face with his palm and stared at her in concern as she cried. She cried as if her brain was being shredded from the inside. She never showed her vulnerable side to anyone and seeing her like this made his walls of heart clench. She rested her head on his shoulder, as he patted her hair slightly. He felt helpless as he had never consoled anyone in his life. She held on his collar curled up in her fist while her vision blurred as tears flowed from her eyes continuously.

"What's hurting you Khaza?" He questioned but received no reply. She clinged more to him, wrapping her another hand around his neck. He held her, supporting her by holding her by the waist. He switched off his laptop, took off the duvet which was covering her a bit and picked her up in bridal style. Making her lay on the bed, he slipped himself on the other side. She was sobbing silently staring aimlessly, as she came back towards him. She gasped as he pulled her close to him and adjusted his strong arm below her head, wrapping it around her shoulders pulling her more towards himself.

"I am there with you, Khaza." He mumbled as he nuzzled into her hairs. Naina closed her eyes as she held his hand which was placed on her waist. It felt safe as he held her, which she needed at this moment. In the darkness their cuddles felt like a little touch of heaven. She turned towards him and glanced at him who simply pecked her forehead. He did not know why she was so broken, but he preferred to stay quiet and hold onto her as she needed him. She held his hand which was placed on her waist.

"Feeling better now?" Sameer asked her,at which she hummed in response and continued playing with his fingers, lost in her thoughts.

"Aapko kaha nahi jaana?" Sameer questioned her. She looked at him for a few seconds but chose not to say anything. She heard Sameer sigh, as he rested her head on her crook of neck.

"I am sorry." She mumbled in a weak voice, wiping off her tears.

"Why?"He questioned.

"I am troubling you so much. I am disturbing your peaceful life." She uttered in a guilt-ridden voice.

"My life was never peaceful Khaza." Sameer replied, pulling her closer to him. His warm breath fanned against her nape while her fingers curled into the fabric he was wearing not clasping it tightly but just enough to reassure herself that they were together. She turned towards him, resting her head on his chest.

"I-I don't want to attend the marriage." She mumbled in a low voice.

"Hum kahi nahi jayenge jaha aap nahi jana chahti ho." He replied to her. She tilted her head to see him for seconds and then clinged against him, drowning herself into deep slumber after a few minutes. Sameer kept caressing her hairs trying to join connections between the happenings. He was confused by her sudden outburst though he knew she had hidden many things from him and she was like a puzzle yet to be solved, he never knew that she would break down like this,in front of him.

He wished only if he could extend the night so that he could stay close to her for a longer time.He stared at her who still had dry tear marks on her chubby face. The gentle snuffles and rhythmic rise and fall of her chest usually soothed him as his mind was tangled with possibilities that could have happened and ways of how he could help her.

Naina's Voiceover

Fresh windy cool and crispy air whistled like an invisible ghost. The dust specks seemed fascinating as they entered the room along with the sunlight. The birds broke the silence by chirruping their morning melody. I continued studying, trying to divert my mind from events that took place yesterday. I could still feel my husband's strong protective arms wrapped right around me bringing a sense of peace which I was oblivious to. He did help me to calm raging storms in my heart. I never knew I would break down in such a way before him, I did not want to see him today embarrassed of what had happened yesterday. I was so put off by whatever had happened in my life that ended up messing up my emotions.

I did not find him this morning, making me sigh in relief. I chose to stay in the room so that I could avoid him, at which I was quite successful. I kept my books aside, unable to concentrate on what I was reading and pressed my temples which were hurting. I never expected 'them' to come to this mansion. Those disgusting gaze and taunts made my heart flinch. I wanted to run away from there and even at that moment I had my husband beside me. His mere presence calms me down, I had held his hand trying to control my inner turmoil and even he had not objected to me from doing so.

Voiceover ends

Naina was lost in her chain of thoughts, all of a sudden, she yelled placing a palm on her heart as she heard someone scream right next to her ear. She stared at Kabir who was laughing like an idiot. Shrikha hit his head, making him wince.

"What? That was fun." He wailed as he sat next to Naina.

"You scared me."Naina mumbled.

"Sorry."He mumbled as he held his ears with a puppy face. Naina smiled in response making him giggle.

"Naina, just a day left!" He said with a cheeky smile, Naina stared at him with confusion but soon her face brightened by her full-blown smile.

"Naina first eat your breakfast." Shrikha said as she pulled her cheeks and handed her a plate of pancakes. Before Naina could eat, Kabir took a pancake only to receive a glare from Shrikha.

"Bhukkad."Shrikha murmured against her breath as he had just eaten six pancakes downstairs. Naina giggled seeing Kabir making the most innocent face.

"My sister will not have any problem if I eat from her plate." Kabir said while Shrikha looked at him with widened eyes. Kabir's mind stalled as he recollected what he had just spoken. His face turned pale, keeping pancakes back in the plate he was about to go to when Naina held his hand. She looked at him with a confused face.

"Kabir." She called him as she forwarded the pancakes, gesturing him to eat. Kabir ate it silently while Shrikha held his shoulder trying to calm him down.

"I-I w-ill leave, I have s-some work." Kabir stuttered as he got up running his fingers through his hairs.

"Kabir?" Shrikha asked him in concern as she held his arm.

"I a-am fine Shri." He mumbled as he left the room. Naina did not understand what was happening and chose not to intervene.

"Please don't go." Naina pushed off the duvet from herself and rushed towards Sameer as she saw him taking out a black shirt from the closet.

"I will have to go to Naina, it's important," Sameer said as he buttoned up his shirt.

"Please don't, for me." She said, clutching his hand.

"Why are you acting like this suddenly? What's got into you Naina? I said I have some work and I am going there, it was decided before so I have to." He replied, taking his hand off from her grip.

"No you won't go because I don't want you to go anywhere tonight! You won't go because I am refusing you to do so." She slammed in a raised tone, her move was unexpected as she had never raised her voice at him. He stared at her for a few seconds and sighed in frustration.

"I haven't spoken rudely so don't use this tone while speaking to me." Sameer said as he clenched his jaw, controlling his anger. He was already irritated with his stuff and being questioned this way by his wife made him furious.

"I will speak in whichever tone I like. But you won't go out today and that's final." She reverted back.

"Are you crazy? Why the hell are you behaving like this all of a sudden. I have some work which needs to be done. And who the hell are you to stop me?" He yelled in response.

"I am your wife, even if it is just a contract I am legally your wife at this moment. I don't care what you think about me but you won't go out, it's not safe for you. Please." Her voice trailed down into a pleading tone as a lone tear rolled down her cheeks.

"Khaza, I have some work which needs to be completed by tonight itself." He spoke as his tone softened a bit while his hand instinctively moved to wipe her tears.

"Then take me along," She replied, looking into his eyes.

"Hu-Huh? I can't." He mumbled.

"Why can't you take me along then? Yo-You are hiding something from me, right? I heard you speak to someone, you are not going for some business meeting, you are...I just want you to be safe. I don't want to lose the only person left in my life. I don't want to lose you. Please don't go. I-If you go, I won't talk to you ever." She continued sobbing like a kid, still holding on to his hand. He moistened his dried lips and averted his gaze.

"I have to leave. I am getting late. Eat dinner on time and take a rest." He uttered in his cold voice, patting her cheeks and turned around to leave.

"Mr. Maheshwari!" She wailed and hugged his back as she cried, clutching on to him tightly.

"I don't feel good, please don't go anywhere tonight. Please. I don't want to lose you. I know you are not going for some work, you are hiding something from me. Please don't leave." She cried and spoke whatever her heart spilled, as she held him tight. He ruffled his hair, closing his eyes trying to calm himself. He took off her hand and walked out of the room.

The room was covered with creepiness which felt oppressive. Sameer stood for a minute and he threw the piece of paper which was lit on the floor and crushed it with his feet. He gestured to his men to stay outside and walked in the old-dark factory. He flexed his arms as he walked, slid his hands into his pockets. He walked in with a cold face put-on, as he muttered some curses under his breath.

"Well, The Mafia King arrives on time." A man spoke with a glint of a mocking smile on his face. Sameer simply glared at him and noted the men who were standing behind him.

"I expected your dogs to be present even today. Afterall a bastard like you is always a coward." Sameer mocked him back grinning ,as he folded his sleeves upto the elbow. He smirked as he listened to the growl of his men.

"So coming to the point, what's your decision?" Sameer questioned.

"Have you brought the money? Which you had promised to give?" The man questioned as he walked forward towards him.

"So an idiot like you won't work without the bait of money?" The left side of Sameer's lip tugged upwards creating a sinister smirk on his god-like face, casting a spell of fear of his next move to eyes that dared look his way. He hit him under the jaw, making him hit the floor.

"An asshole like you deserves this, for betraying me, my family. You deserve this for the kind of job you do. Money, huh, that's what you wanted right? You wanted money for killing and trafficking innocents. I have come to know about each of your deeds. You won't get even a single penny, idiot!" Sameer roared in anger, as he pulled him by his collars on his feet and swung back a punch at him bruising his eye.

"You are going to pay for it Sameer Maheshwari." He said as he coughed, spitting out blood. He still had an evil smirk, raging Sameer. He punched him again three times, two lefts and a right in the face making cuts due to the gold rings he was wearing. The man stumbled back, while blood rushed from his nose. Sameer gazed at his men who were handling the goons.

"You are claiming to know about my deeds. The person who does not know about his wife is claiming to know everything about me. You are and will always be an unsuccessful caretaker, who purposely killed that person to become what you are today." The man spoke as he punched Sameer. Sameer glared at him, shooting daggers from his eyes and punched him back.

"Dare you speak anything about me and my wife!" Sameer gritted his teeth as he held him by his collar.

"Are you seriously oblivious about your innocent wife's...Naina right? Do you know about her pa--" Before he could speak Sameer hit him, lifted him by his collar and threw it on the floor making him yelp loudly in pain.

"Dare you take my wife's name from your fucking mouth!" Sameer roared in anger. He took his revolver and shot right in his heart. The shot thundered across the hall, an echo of the waves made everyone stare at Sameer and the dead man who was still struggling to survive. He ruffled his hair while stared at that man's left eye, which was drowned in blood and had a star fracture in its lens. The bridge of his nose and left cheekbone were hammered into pulp.

Out of nowhere, somebody punched him.In reflex Sameer raised his hand, curling his fist ready to punch but stalled himself seeing the person who had hit him. "Is-" Sameer murmured to himself  which was quite inaudible. Before he could speak anything, he felt a stinging pain in his neck. His eyesight blurred, as he stared at a known hazed figure. Everything became fuzzy and he fell on his knees. He touched his nose and felt something wet which was nothing other than blood. He felt his consciousness floating while his head throbbed with continuous pain. His body drained away until finally everything turned  black. He could just think of his wife, Naina as his mind was engulfed by darkness.

Kabir, Naina and Shrikha sat outside the operation theatre with lines of tension on their faces. Naina was evidently trembling mumbling prayers against her breath while a thin layer of tears had covered her face, anybody could notice the fear clearly on her face. On the other hand Kabir's state was mostly similar to Naina. He did not want to lose his dear friend, it had been hours since Sameer was still in the operation theatre. Shrikha stayed strong for Naina and Kabir. She held Naina by her shoulders,as she mumbled soothing words against her ears while she had held Kabir's hand assuring him to stay strong.

Kabir rushed towards the doctor who came out of the operation theatre.

"I-Is he fine?" He stuttered.

"He is out of danger but it would take time to regain consciousness. You can see him." The doctor spoke. Kabir thanked the doctor and rushed in the room while Shrikha held Naina's hand taking her in.

After a few hours,Sameer got up only to receive a punch on his chest. He winced and glared at Kabir who had hit him. "Saale marja!" Kabir uttered angrily.Sameer rolled his eyes while Shrikha sighed seeing their crazy friendship as she helped Sameer to sit straight.

"Feeling okay?" Shrikha asked him worriedly at which he simply bobbed his head in a way of yes. Sameer kept on staring at his wife who was staring anywhere but him.

"Naina." Kabir called Naina and gestured to her to come towards the bed where Sameer was sitting. Naina walked towards him and stood next to Kabir not even glancing at Sameer.

"I will get the medicines." Shrikha said as she left the ward.

"Naina." Sameer called her softly. She glared at him, puffing her face in anger.

"Naina aap yaha betiye, I have some wo-" Kabir spoke trying to excuse himself but his voice trailed as he received a deathly glare from Naina.

"Koi zarurat nahi hai Kabir, mujhe is insaan se baat hi nahi karni. Tell him that I am not going to talk to him. He is a fucking idiot. Mana kiya tha na maine? I did stop you right? You didn't listen to me then ab maro ya jiyo farak nahi padta mujhe."She snapped, raging in anger.

"Khaza, listen to me once."Sameer spoke again.

"Shut up! Do you get that, just shut the fuck up." She yelled, throwing the glass on the floor in anger, making Kabir flinch. Sameer just kept staring at her, his lips twitched a bit as he could see how she used her anger to hide the sadness.

"I did stop you but you didn't listen to me! Even I won't listen to you Mr. Maheshwari. Die in hell, dare you call me or take my name." She screamed and walked out of the ward angrily not before punching his chest.

"Lag gaye tere." He heard Kabir's comment who was still unable to overcome the shock.

"I have been hurt even worse than this before, she's reacting in this way because she has never seen me like this." Sameer spoke, pressing his temples.

"I seriously don't know what has happened between you both but I advise you to think more of such reasons as she is seriously going to kill you bro." Kabir said as his voice trailed down with a chuckle.

"Shut up and check if she is fine."Sameer said, rolling his eyes.

"Are you in love?" Kabir questioned leaning towards Sameer's face trying to check out something.

"What? Never." Sameer replied in a hoarse tone.

"Then why are you so concerned about her?" Kabir asked him, scrunching his nose.

"She's my wife dammit, just leave and check her. I just hope that she does not harm herself in anger." Sameer spoke in concern, trying to get up but winced as his body was aching with stinging pain.

"Uh..wait I will check," Kabir said as he walked out of the room.
