INTRODUCING a wednesday-inspired applyfic. i understand i have four applyfics up currently but don't be too alarmed, the form for this won't be released until october 30th at the earliest, possibly later if that's preferred, let alone the due date itself which will be sometime in 2025, as late as february, giving plenty of time to get the other applyfics in order. this is quite lore-heavy, hence the early release! this does mean the chase won't be revamped however, at least, not for a long time, but i've only been putting up applyfics i know i won't take down and this was a more durable plot than the heist one, so i figured i'd go with this since it's been in my drafts for a bit!

A COUPLE other things to note-while this is wednesday-inspired, the lore and the plot are dissimilar in a lot of ways. you don't need to know anything about wednesday for this, i say it takes inspiration from wednesday because of the similar gothic themes and the idea of an academy dedicated to supernaturals, and because of the idea of people going missing. other than that, there isn't too much overlap between the plots. but anyway, the rest will be explained! please do read in dark mode or this looks horrific </3

Your child will be kept quite safe here. Rest assured that all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure the well-being and security of every student. We appreciate your trust in us and look forward to welcoming your child into our community.

THEN we'd better figure out what happened to them.

A MONSTER IS IN TOWN. It's true, those possessing extraordinary capabilities tend to avoid using that word, but when humans are being taken by something, and even one of their own dragged away into the forest mysteriously, what else is there to call it? The first disappearance might have been for a number of reasons, but seven? If you add onto this the number of sheep slaughtered with no explanation in the town of Ravenwood's Hollow located outside of the Academy, there's only so much you can dismiss as being idle rumors.

A hidden sanctuary for the paranormal is not so safe anymore. The pressure's on the Academy too, with detectives on the case and local government authorities suggesting that it must be a student wreaking havoc, threatening to unveil the whole institution for the world to see. History has provided sufficient evidence for what happens when those different to the norm are ousted into a world where they're deemed different.

When a group of students all start to simultaneously receive visions, a mixture of past, present and future, all linked to the disappearances, the fate of their school rests on them. Piece together the visions, set aside your differences for the sake of your friends, family, for the Academy, and decipher the mystery. Each vision offers a cryptic clue, a fragment of a larger puzzle, and soon, the students find themselves roped into ancient lore, secrets that date back to their own parents and grandparents, forced to confront their own fears and doubts. They must discover that the darkness they face is not just an external threat, but something that might be lurking within themselves.

The clock's ticking. The very essence of the Academy's existence is at stake, and it's impossible to know who to trust. While few want to confront the truth, the monster themself would have no trouble faking a vision, given its their own lived reality. Of course, it's very well possible that none of the group are responsible for the disappearances, but that thought is always there, lurking...

𝕿HINGS 𝕿O 𝕹OTE:
⤷ This will be my first applyfic where there's no roles, so you're free to create whatever kind of character you want! There will be set things you need to include, such as their species (you'll have 6 to select from) and their House, but other than that, it's up to your own creativity.

⤷ On that note, the next chapter (which should be out within the next couple of hours from this release) will contain most of the lore, including the different species that the student and staff body is made up of, the history of Acheron, information about the town beside it, and information on the different Houses. Think of them like Hogwarts Houses, but very different (more will be explained in the following chapter). There are five total: the House of the Chupacabra, the House of the Wendigo, the House of the Caladrius, the House of the Amarok and the House of the Kitsune.

⤷ In the chapter after that, there will be another just containing details on the staff/Heads of House and a couple other key characters, such as the mayor of the town nearby and the sheriff. You're free to create characters related to these side characters, just consult me about it first!

⤷ The number of characters that will be accepted is, as of now, undecided. However, it will not exceed 12 in the main cast, at the most, ideally it will be less. Only one character per admin will be in the main cast, but you're free to submit multiple, one at most will be in the main cast and the rest may be sidecasted. The side cast are also important! But they won't be the ones receiving visions, they'll be relevant in other ways.

That's all I can think of to note for now, hopefully the following chapters will provide more clarity!

𝖀NUS ✶ you know the drill gang, don't be unkind unless it's deserved or something, because some people suck and if Alyssa wants to let someone have it I'm not going to stop her. As a side note for anyone who's not familiar with me or my works, know that while I might be close with some people, don't let that stop you from applying, I don't cast based on who my friends are they just happen to be very talented <3. If a form is great and fits in with the plot, I'll always accommodate for that even if I don't know you. Password one is to tag 3+ people.

𝕯UO ✶ detail will always be preferred! Though since I don't know how many characters are going to be accepted, I would heavily prefer forms to be in the 5k to 14k range. Only Google Docs forms will be accepted because commented forms make organisation difficult. In terms of face claims there are no strict requirements, since this isn't part of the Wednesday universe you're free to use actors/actresses from there if you'd like to. As long as they can sort of pass for the age, the FC isn't underrage themselves, they have sufficient resources and can work with the general vibe that's fine!

𝕿RES ✶ if your character is accepted, do be active! If your character is accepted and you just disappear, then I won't write them, not out of pettiness, but because I'd rather dedicate that time to the characters of admins who are active! Don't only comment on sections with your own character either. A Discord server will eventually be set up where you can discuss connections and such, but not for a loooong time. If the cast ends up being bigger than

𝕼UATTUOR ✶ make unique characters! I don't mind if the idea of a character itself is common, but add depth and complexity to it :) don't write Mary Sues, don't make a character hopelessly overpowered. Stick to the lore provided in the following chapter, although you're free to have your character subvert things like stereotypes as long as the actual canon lore isn't altered with. Second password is your favourite mythological creature.

𝕼UINQUE ✶ as well as being interesting, characters should be realistic. There are dark themes here, true, but don't go insane with the angst or trauma, these are still very young characters and not every character has come from an abusive household or has had to deal with death in their life. Subtle realism is key here! Give me parental expectations, a burden of a legacy, divorce, being raised by someone other than their parents for whatever reason, things like that. It's not to say there can't be any death or abuse or heavy themes, but don't go overkill.

𝕾EX ✶ haha funny name number, I know 💀. Anyway, while this isn't a romance-centred fic, love interests are definitely an option. The age range for characters is strictly 18-19 (they'll all be in their senior year even though the school accepts ages 15-19, regardless of if they're new or have been here from the start). Be warned there'll be heavy themes, but you know, I'm not going to be writing out anything sexual because that's weird and this isn't that kind of book. At most it'll be implied, if that adds to the plot at all, but it's highly unlikely, esp because some of you are 18<. Last password is to post this to your message board :)
