The sun had now set by the time the Star had been dropped off by her father and began walking up to John B's in a fast pace to be met with the four sitting in John B's backyard.

"Hey Princess!" JJ stood up the second he spotted the girl walking over to them "There she i..."

Star instantly bumped right into the boys chest, wrapping her arms tightly around his middle and nuzzling her face into his chest. And once hearing that nickname she sighed happily as it was the first time hearing it from the blonde in a while.

"Wow" he was a little taken back by the hug but in no time hugged her back "Hey, you okay?" he looked down at the smaller girl.

She softly hummed and nodded her head, she didn't know why after bumping into Rafe she needed JJ so badly, it was something about the Cameron boy calling her Princess that made her instantly want the blonde.

And once he called her that name it really made her realise that it was JJ's nickname for her and JJ's only.

As before the girl never really registered the name, it being so normal as she remembered him calling her that ever since they were young. But once hearing it come from someone else it made her realise the name more, made her realise how much she liked JJ calling her that, and no one but JJ.

"Can we go and sit down?" she spoke so softly it was almost a whisper.

"Yeah." he smiled softly and took her hand in his, leading her to the chair he sat on moments ago next to Pope.

The other three all greeted the girl, but the second they watched her hug JJ and then sit down on his lap they knew something was up. They didn't know what, nor did they ask as they all knew she would tell when she was ready and if she wanted too.

The group went back to their conversation as Star sat quietly with her eyes closed, leaning her head on JJ's chest as he hugged her tightly, putting his chin on top of the girls head.

Star soon found herself gently playing with JJ's necklace, finding comfort with doing so for some odd reason. She now wasn't even thinking about what the Cameron boy had said, she now only focused on JJ's touch.

She liked hugging JJ, she liked being wrapped in his arms. She felt safe and comfortable whenever they sat or lay like this together. She liked when he held her, no words, just holding.

"You sure you're okay?" JJ asked softly so the others that spoke among themselves wouldn't hear.

"Yeah." she replied back just above a whisper and nodded.

"You sure?" he asked again, not buying the girls words "You wanna talk about it?"

She managed to let out a soft chuckle "No it's stupid." she didn't want to tell JJ about why she needed him, or that she needed him for that matter, she didn't even know why she got so weirded out by the whole situation.

"I'm sure it's not." he chuckled "Come on, tell me."

"No." she laughed again "Not in front of them anyway." she gestured to the three friends who weren't even paying attention.

"Come on." he stood up, carefully letting Star stand on her feet before instantly taking her hand and bringing her over to the hammock.

The other three didn't really pay much attention to the pair walking away.

"Okay" JJ said sitting down, putting his arms out for a hug "Tell me what's up?"

Star sighed as she once again relaxed into the boys side, she felt so stupid telling JJ "No, you'll laugh at me." she frowned.

"No i won't." he laughed "Sorry. I won't laugh." he quickly stopped laughing "Tell me." he looked down at the girl who's face he couldn't see as it lay back on his chest.

"Okay." she sighed "Well...i was helping my dad with the delivers and we had to go to the Cameron's." she stopped and took a breath, feeling JJ tense slightly from hearing the name and immediately knowing it this had something to do with Rafe.

"And Rafe helped me with taking the boxes in and then i was helping him put the stuff away, not that that's important." she chuckled "But once we were leaving he was talking to me, he was gonna say something, i don't know what cause my dad interrupted." she paused "But...as he was leaving...he called me Princess." she mumbled last part, not bothering to look up.

JJ's jaw immediately clenched, hearing about who some Kook dick called his girl Princess, Star was his Princess not Rafe's. But it wasn't about him right now, it was about Star.

"So..." he was still confused on why she seemed so upset.

"I don't know" she shrugged "It's just...once he called me that i didn't like it." she mumbled, playing with the boys rings "And i guess i..." she cringed at the words that were about to come out of her mouth "I guess it made me think of you, and i needed you. It's stupid i know." she chuckled.

JJ's heart suddenly fluttered at her words, she needed him, not Kiara, not her father, not John B or Pope, but him. It made him feel funny inside and distracted him from how mad he was at Rafe for calling the girl Princess, he couldn't help but brush it off as he found it cute that the girl needed him.

He smiled to himself and let out a breathing laugh without even realising, only to be hit on the leg.

"You said you wouldn't laugh." Star whined.

"Sorry." he stopped laughing "It's just cute." he smiled.

"What's cute." she knitted her eyebrows together.

"You." the blonde shrugged "You needed me." he teased as his smile now widened.

"Shut up." she rolled her eyes yet she couldn't help but laugh "I just didn't like him calling me that."

"Yeah." JJ sighed, wrapping his arms tighter around the girls body "Nether do i."

The night quickly ended up with the other three joining the pair on the hammocks, it was now pitch black as one of them would talk from time to time, breaking the silence.

"You really think it's out there?" Pope broke the comfortable silence "Like, no bullshit?"

"My father thought it was." John B shrugged.

"But do you?" Pope asked the boy who sat opposite him, not being able to see his face from the dark.

"After hearing his voice on that tape..." Star listened quietly to the boy's conversation as she lay on the hammock beside JJ, wrapped in his arms "I think i do." John B spoke honestly.

"Only one way to find out." Pope and John B did their handshake.

"Look, we're gonna find it, you know?" Kiara spoke up "Even JJ believes." she laughed a little.

"Oh my god, JJ, do you really believe?" John B asked, pretending to be gob smacked.

"Totally." he spoke up, his head resting on the girl "Wait." his head shot up "Are we talking about four mil?"

"Four hundred mil." the other three spoke at the same time as Star continued to stay quiet while she tried to fight off sleep.

"Jinx." Kiara said.

"I'm gonna dream about shipwrecks." the blonde turned his back to his friends, bringing the girl closer towards his body.

"You mean Star?" Kiara chuckled.

"Shut up." JJ mumbled and Star now being half asleep to even register what the girl had said "Good night bird!" he called out to John B.

"Good night bird shit" John B replied back, causing JJ to chuckle sarcastically and hold up his middle finger to the boy.

"All right JJ." John B called out to the blonde at the steering wheel of the boat "Pin it here."

"Roger that!" JJ called back "C marks the spot."

The group were now in what Star said to be pretty much the middle of the ocean as they watched John B get the drone out and hold it above him as he walked to the side of the water.

"Alright Ladies and gentlemen." John B said as he held the drone up and began placing it slowly into the water "To going full Kook."

Kiara carefully helped by pushing the cable attached to the drone further into the water as Pope looked at the screen seeing the water around, Star hovering over his shoulder.

"Alright JJ, we're right over it." The brunette boy called out to JJ as he stared at the screen in his hands "Ten second northwest."

"Got it! Ten seconds northwest." JJ repeated and steered the boat.

"Stop breathing in my ear." Pope mumbled to the girl by his shoulder.

"Sorry." Star quickly pulled her head back, but still making sure she could see the screen in front of Pope.

"One hundred feet!" Kiara called out from the side of the boat.

Pope gasped and jumped as a Squid suddenly swam in front of the drone. And because he jumped, so did Star.

"What? what is it?" John B frantically tan over to the pair.

"It's nothing." Pope shook his head, causing John B to sigh.

"It's a fucking Squid Pope." Star laughed at how the boy got so scared.

"Sorry i thought..."

"Don't do that to me man." JJ turned around.

"Come one man." John B groaned.

"My bad." Pope apologised "I just thought i saw..."

"Guys leave him alone." Star told practically only John B.

"Thank you..."

"It's not Pope's fault that he got scared by a big ink squirter." She laughed as Pope rolled his eyes and went back to looking at the screen.

"And to quote the Hobbit" Pope spoke "Down, down, to Goblin Town." he said in a funny voice making the girl beside him chuckled "Down, down, you go, my lad."

"I like that." Star looked at the boy while the both of them laughed.

"Four hundred feet!" Kiara called over. "The tides turning."

"Hey JJ?" John B called out to the blonde. "Ten seconds easy. South-southeast."

"Copy that!"

"JJ, 20 second mid speed, all right? south!" John B shouted over the noise of the choppy waves and strong wind.

"Keep the tether out the prop!" JJ shouted to Kiara.

"I'm trying!" Kiara spoke back.

"JJ keep going!" John B called.

At this point Star looked around frantically, seeing the dark clouds coming their way as the sound of thunder rumbled.

"John B?" JJ turned to face the boy "Is that good?"

"We're good, we're good." he called back.

"okay, 700 feet!" Kiara called again.

They all looked ahead seeing the thunder clouds come closer and closer while the winds got stronger, pushing the boat.

"uhh guys?" Star shouted over the loudspeaker thunder.

"JJ, hold it steady!" John B completely ignored the girl.

"Okay 900!"

"JJ we'll turtle in this storm!" Pope leaned over, looking at JJ.

"920!"

"Crank it north by northwest!" John B shouted "10 seconds!"

Star casually clutched onto Pope's arm as she sat next to him while John B hovered over the pair.

"Pope, how we doing?" he asked.

"Almost there." Pope replied.

"John B there's too much current!" Kiara shouted, trying to hold onto the wire. "We're gonna lost it!"

"South, southwest, JJ! hard!" John B yelled over the wind. "Half speed. Steadily at the bearing JJ!"

Star now sat in the middle between the two boys, moving her head from one screen to the next.

"What you got Pope?" John B looked at the boys screen "Come on man. What do you see?"

"Nothin'." Pope replied in annoyance "A whole lot of nothin'."

John B quickly moved closer towards Pope, Star moving out the way before the boy shoved her "You should be right above it, brother!"

"Kiara!" Pope shouted to the girl.

"960! 970!"

The three all watched the screen in suspense as Kiara called out the numbers.

"980!"

"I'm at the bottom!" Pope jumped up "I'm at the bottom!"

"Steady here JJ!" John B turned to the boy. "Steady here. Quarter speed all right?"

"You should be seeing something man." John B turned back to face Pope's screen.

"I know, I know!" Pope interrupted "Wait, wait, wait." he got the boy to stop talking.

"Holy Shit." Star said in disbelief as everyone gasped, seeing the wreck on the ocean floor.

"It's the Royal Merchant." John B whispered, letting out a laugh.

"It's not there." John B sighed "Look, just-just pull the drone up."

"Look, we can do another pass." Pope reassured the boy "Recharge the battery we can go back down!" Pope called out the boy who made his way to the back of the boat, hand in his hair.

"We've done it three times." JJ called out "There's nothing there."

"Shut up!" Star and Kiara both shouted at the boy."

"What, it's true." JJ threw his arms up, looking back at both girls.

"The gold could be buried!" Kiara shrugged "We don't know?"

"If it was there, it would've been found on the metal dictator okay?" John B turned around, shouting at the girl. "Somebody beat us to it."

"Or it was never there." JJ mumbled, Star rolling her eyes as she heard.

Star shook her head, feeling almost sorry for John B as she watched the boy slouch onto the floor of the boat, bringing his knees to his chest as he pulled his hood over his head.

After that the group had all went their separate ways. John B had went off on the boat to do his own thing, Pope went to his father to help with some work, JJ had gone home to go do JJ things and Kiara wasn't needed at The Wreck and now had nothing to do so she had casually followed Star home without even asking, Star didn't mind.

"When will you two date?" Kiara asked out of the blue, groaning as she lay with her head on Star's lap, holding a teddy above her head.

"I beg your pardon!" Star laughed as she looked down at the girl "Who?"

"You know who" she rolled her eyes "You and JJ."

Just as she took a sip from her water it had ended up all over Kiara instead of staying her mouth "What!?" Star's eyes widened.

"Dude!" Kiara shot up, wiping the water off her shirt.

"What the fuck do you mean, me and JJ?" Star asked, completely ignoring how she'd just spat all over her friend.

Kiara wiped the remainder of the water off her shirt and laughed "You know exactly what i mean." she rolled her eyes, lying back onto the bed, resting on her hands, facing Star.

"No." Star chuckled awkwardly "No i don't." she frowned.

Kiara rolled her eyes again "Have you seen you two together?" she sat up, crossing her legs "You're so in love. It's disgusting. Cute. But disgusting."

Star rolled her eyes "Shut up." she laughed "We are not in love."

"Yes, you are." Kiara's face stated straight as she spoke "You." she pointed her finger at Star "Just don't know it yet. Or, you just don't wanna admit it."

Star stared into space for a couple of minutes before meeting her eyes with Kiara's "Shut up!" she knotted her eyebrows together "Both... of those things are wrong."

"Okay." Kiara nodded, not believing the girl "Well, what you can't disagree with is that JJ is totally in love with you."

"What!?" Star practically yelled "No he is not."

"Shut up! Star." Kiara's eyes almost popped out of her head "Have you seen the way that boy act arounds you? and why do you think John B and Pope always make those 'jokes'?"

"Well..." Star paused "I don't know. They're just like that with him, they always make those jokes."

"Yeah, but they're not joking are they!?" she pointed out the obvious "That boy is in love with you Star." she watched her friend who stared into space, thinking from what her face seemed like "He just doesn't have the balls to tell you, and you don't have the balls to admit that you like him back."

Star stared down at her lap, taking in the girls words. She knew all about the joke Pope and John B made but she never thought they'd actually be true. Surely JJ didn't like her like that, it was just Kiara talking. Kiara didn't know what the boy thought, or who the boy liked. Why would JJ like her, she's his best friend.

"But have you heard him say that?" she raised an eyebrow, wanting to deny it.

"Well no." the curly haired girl shook her head "But it's obvious...And you know JJ." she paused "He doesn't fall in love, or...stick to one girl. All he used to do is hook up with girls for one night and then never see them again." she tired to act her friends eyes "But guess what? he used to... he's not done that in years... Think about it."

Star couldn't speak, she didn't know what to say. She didn't want to admit that the boy had feelings for her and she didn't want to admit that she had feelings for him. Because in all honesty, Star didn't even know if she had feelings for the blonde, she'd never really thought about it.

She had moments where she thought things she never had, things she couldn't even explain to others or even herself. God, she had no idea what was going on in her head.

Authors note

I don't know how i feel about the end of this chapter but i needed a filler and thought i'd have a little Kiara and Star moment.

Also ignore the cut before John B saying it's not there, i didn't want to make two different chapters because they'd be too short.
