"๐ ๐๐๐'๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐'๐ wrong with peonies."
"They are so common at weddings. So boring and typical. Don't you want something different? Like sunflowers or lilies. Oh! We could do both of them combined. They would be so gorgeous. Especially as a bouquet."
"But they're not pink and peonies are that pretty pink I love so much."
"Sunflowers and lilies go with pink."
The oldest Chambers sister huffed in pure annoyance and sat back in her chair. The sisters were gathered at the kitchen table on a Friday morning, going over all the things Liz has managed to plan and secure so far.
It has been a month and a half since a certain person left and it's only been a couple weeks since Ester and Danny asked her to be the wedding planner. Just like it was intended to do, the job has kept Liz very busy and with school work and PT, she hasn't really had much time to relax, but she wasn't at all complaining. Liz absolutely loved all the planning and the organizing that went into this. Despite this wedding being a small affair, Liz is determined to make it memorable for the bride and groom.
As agreed upon, Ester and Danny left Liz fully in charge. However, when it comes to certain things like the flowers and the color scheme and the bridesmaids' dress, Ester is determined to have a say in the decision making. This is the first time the two have butted heads about the wedding, mostly because they can't decide on what flowers to have.
"The sunflowers won't work, Lizzie. They will clash with the light pink I want for the bridesmaids dresses."
Liz pinched the bridge of her nose to reduce the headache forming. Thankfully it has not progressed to one of her migraines she usually gets, but she knows if she continues to argue with Ester, it is soon to come. "We haven't even gotten to the dresses yet. We have an appointment at Layla's Bridal in two weeks."
"I still know what color I want them to be." Ester argued her point.
"I thought your favorite color was blue, anyway?"
Ester rolled her eyes. "Just because my favorite color is blue does not mean I want a blue scheme wedding. I think pink would be much nicer. Especially on the beach."
"That literally makes zero sense!"
"How does that make zero sense?"
"Because you are on a beach! Surrounded by water! Everyone knows blue is the most common color scheme for beach weddings."
Ester raised a brow. "I thought you said common is boring."
Liz was going to strangle her sister. She just needs to figure out where to hide the body. Danny will get over it.
"Just pick delilahs." Speak of the devil.
Both sisters turned to see Danny was casually trying to eat his breakfast and has been forced to listen to the crazy Chambers sisters going at it since they came down the stairs. Neither one had touched the french toast Danny made for them, instead they have been bittering for almost an hour.
"Delilahs?" Both Ester and Liz question the man at the same time.
Danny simply shrugged. "Why not? They have different shades but are mostly pink and they are not so common for weddings, at least I don't believe they are. Problem solved."
The two blondes stared at him dumbfounded, generally surprised neither one of them thought of delilahs to begin with. They turn towards each other, both thinking the same thing. "He's not totally wrong."
Ester nodded in agreement. "I do love delilahs. They were even mom's favorite flower. Why didn't we think of that before?"
"I don't know. But now that the picture is in my head, the more I like it."
"Hallelujah!" Danny praises, before getting up and putting his plate in the sink. "Now that that's settled, I'm late for work and babe, so are you."
Ester looked at the clock on the wall and cursed. "Damn it." Scrambling up, she grabs her jacket and purse before chasing after her fiance.
"So we're definitely settled on delilahs then? Because I'm going to the floral shop today to order them."
"Yes! Though don't get just pink delilahs. I know they have different shades. Let's be bold and mix them up a bit."
Liz saluted the older woman. "You got it. Have fun at work."
"Have fun at school!" Danny calls back.
Oh, shit. School. She knew there was something she was forgetting.

๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ lunch tray on the table so loudly, it startled those at the table, most specifically Eric who was right next to her when she had done it which resulted in a loud screech from the male. Mike bursted out laughing and the blonde tried her hardest to look apologetic but failed since she couldn't repress her giggles.
"You should have seen the look on your face!" Mike pointed at Eric, still howling with laughter. Eric flips him off and turns back to the blonde.
"What's with the aggression, Liz? You know I have sensitive ears." Eric demanded, glaring at the girl next to him.
Liz gave an innocent smile. "Sorry, I was excited and didn't think about how loud I put it down."
Eric sighed and shook his head. "I'm just surprised your fries managed to stay on your plate."
Liz comfortably rubbed his back and he calmly took a sip of water. Angela and Jessica both made an appearance, both taking their seats with their trays. Jessica was the first to speak. "Did anyone else hear that? It sounded like a cat screaming."
Both Mike and Liz couldn't control themselves as they burst into fits of laughter. Eric simply grumbled under his breath, crossing his arms over his chest. "You two suck."
Angela turned towards her boyfriend. "Wait, that was you?"
The laughter only got louder which only confirmed Angela's question. Eric was now glaring daggers at them. "It's not that funny. Liz just snuck up on me."
"You're right, dude. It's not funny," Mike said, clearing his throat to stop from laughing but it was an epic fail. "It was hilarious!"
Now Jessica was cracking up and Angela was trying her best not to laugh and grabbed his hand in comfort. Eric flipped all of them off and went about eating his food. Liz felt like her sides were screaming from all the laughter so she did her best to contain herself.
Mike calmed down enough as well to nod his head towards the blonde. "So what's got you so excited you are willing to make Eric scream like a girl?"
Liz reached into her bag and opened up the white box before taking on one of the cards and holding them up. "Look when I picked up this morning on the way to school."
"Oh my god, are those the wedding invitations?" Jessica asked, holding out her hand. Liz happily gave it to her.
"Yep. Aren't they perfect?"
Jessica passed it to Angela and the brunette nodded. "They are so pretty. I can't believe Ester and Danny are getting married on January 5th. It's only two months away now."
"Yeah, they sure didn't give you much time to plan." Eric said. He's not wrong. When Ester and Danny both said January 5th, she originally thought they meant next year, but apparently the young couple were tired of putting off the wedding and wanted to be wed as soon as possible.
Liz didn't mind. It's not like they had a huge venue to book or anything. Ester has always wanted a beach wedding so La Push was the perfect setting. And if this town decides to be its annoying self and rain on them, then Pastor Phil said they can use the church free of charge. Even offered them the community center for the reception. Apparently to honor their father, who he has known since he was a child. He even agreed to officiate the ceremony, so that made having three months to plan a wedding much easier on the wedding planner.
"Well, I told you we have the venue and backup venue secure so it's everything else. Luckily Ester and Danny don't know that many people so it's not going to be a huge wedding. The reception will be at the community center, thanks to Pastor Phil. Everything else, I think I can handle." Liz explains with a proud smile. She then began passing around more of the invitations. "Here. You each get one."
The four stared at the blonde in surprise. "Wait, we're invited?"
"Of course," Liz stated. "Ester and Danny told me to invite whoever I want and Ester has known you guys for years. She will be thrilled if you guys come."
Jessica put the invitation down and grinned. "Well I'm definitely going. It gives me an excuse to buy a new dress."
"Like you need an excuse," Mike mumbled, but Jessica clearly heard him and threw a fry at his face. He just chuckled and ate it smugly.
Liz rolled her eyes at the two and turned to the others. "What about you two? Should I RSVP you guys now?"
"Oh we are definitely going to be there. Right babe?" Eric turned to his girlfriend who looked to be a big thought, staring down at the invitation in her hand with a nervous look. When she still didn't reply, Eric nudged her. "Babe?"
"What?" Angela looked up, a bit spacey. "Oh. Yeah. Of course we'll be there."
Liz noticed the hesitation in her voice when she said the words. She knew something was going on with Angela. She wasn't acting like herself. Liz even caught her sleeping in History two days ago, which is so unlike her. She looks so tired but every time she tries to see what's wrong, she insists that she's fine and doesn't say any more on the subject.
Liz had even gone to Eric later that day to see if he knew anything but he seems to be in the dark as well. He claims he's noticed that she's been a bit spacey which is also very unlike Angela but he thinks it's because she's stressed about college essays. Apparently they are both trying to get into ivy league schools together. Mainly Yale or Stanford.
But looking at Angela, she wasn't her normal stressed about school self. Something more is going on, Liz can feel it in her gut. She just wished Angela would talk to her. But she won't push her. Angela will talk when she's ready and Liz is prepared to be there to listen when she is. Just like Angela has always been there for her this past year.
Liz's attention was brought away from the group to see Bella walking into the cafeteria, later than usually. Like normal, she doesn't bother getting anything to eat and takes a seat at the empty Cullen table that apparently people are too scared to even sit at since they left. Liz's heart clenched looking at the table and the times she had eaten lunch there. But she forced herself to ignore the ache and grabbed two more invitations from the box before telling the others she will be right back.
Inviting Bella to the wedding was always the plan. Bella is still her friend and Liz refuses to give up hope that she will soon snap out of this funk just like she did. Besides, the wedding is a couple months away. Bella can't still be in a depressed state for that long... right?
Liz approached the fragile girl and took a seat at the table. Bella was leaning her head against her hand, not even bothering to look up. "Hey Bella. How are you?"
No response. Just like when she visited her a couple weeks ago. She has heard Bella answer teachers when questioned, but nothing else. It's like she's not aware of anything or anyone anymore.
Don't give up, Liz. Bella is still there. Your friend is still there.
"Here, I wanted to give you this." She placed the two invitations on the table in front of the brunette. When Bella didn't respond, Liz cleared her throat and continued. "Ester and Danny finally picked a wedding date. It's in two months, which I know is very short notice but they left me incharge. I guess they figured if anyone can pull off a wedding in that short amount of time, it's me." Liz chuckled, but it died when Bella remained quiet. Sighing, Liz brushed her hair behind her ear and continued. "Anyway, these are for you. Both you and Charlie are invited. I really hope you both can make it."
Just when Liz thought she was going to be met with silence, Bella finally looked up and stared at the blonde for a really long time before speaking. "What happened to your hair?"
Startled, Liz had to take a second to process the question before sheepishly grabbing her hair and giving a timid smile. "Oh, I uh... I straightened it."
"You hate straightening your hair." Bella simply stated.
Liz only shrugged. "A girl can change her mind."
Bella showed no emotion. "Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why did you straighten it?"
"Because I wanted a change." Liz explained, though Bella just stared at her intensely before looking down back at the table. The blonde waited a couple seconds, but it was clear Bella was done talking. "Okay then."
Liz got up and headed back to the table, trying really hard not to go back there and shake Bella out of this state she is in. She tried not to get upset with her, but she was getting kind of ridiculous. She is never going to move on if she doesn't stop sitting at that table and start socializing again.
Time. Bella just needs more time and I will give it to her.

๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐'๐ Floral was a surprisingly easy one. The shop wasn't too far from the house and she didn't have to go outside of Forks. The town may be small but it does have great stores and shops around. And she knows for certain that Donna's Floral has done weddings before thanks to Billy Black since he claims his wife used the same place for their own wedding years ago.
ย ย She was really happy with the decision to go with delilahs for the wedding. It will definitely set the right pinkish vibe Ester really wants for her wedding and it will bring out a beautiful setting on the beach. Liz is praying it doesn't rain. She wouldn't hate the church, but a wedding on the beach is such a beautiful idea. Great for photos.
ย ย The bell chimed when the door opened and she stepped through. The smell inside smacked her in the face and it was so lovely and fresh. It smelled like Nana's greenhouse back in California. She loved going in there, mainly because her Nana had been planting a lot of daffodils because she knew it was her favorite just to put a smile on her face.
ย ย As she made her way to the front of the shop, she was met by a guy sitting behind the desk, feet prompt up on the register and an acoustic guitar in his lap where he was tuning it a bit while also playing one of the Beatles greatest songs, Here Comes The Sun. He was young, around the same age as Liz but could be a couple years older. He was very handsome, had a kind of a biker look to him, similar to Daniel when he was in high school.
ย ย "Hi," Liz said, waving awkwardly to gain his attention.
ย ย He looked up and gave a knowing smile. "Jason is better than Michael."
ย ย Liz was taken back. "What?"
ย ย "Your shirt," he gestured to her shirt, causing her to look down to realize she is wearing an old t-shirt with Michael Myers from the amazing slasher movie Halloween. The guy went back to softly strumming her guitar. "Friday the 13th trumps Halloween anyday."
ย ย Liz scoffs and crosses her arms over her chest. "I am going to need a solid reason for that bold statement."
ย ย "It's the superior movie and Jason is the superior killer."
ย ย "You do know Jason is not the original killer in that movie, right? It was actually his mother so that statement that Jason is better than Michael is inaccurate. And besides that, Michael Myers is so much stronger and doesn't even have to chase his victims to kill them. He is also more creative with his kills, in my opinion and I think-"
ย ย "Woah, woah, woah!" The guy held up his hands, eyes wide and laughing in amusement. "I was just kidding. I just wanted to see how defensive you would get and clearly I struck a nerve."
ย ย Liz found herself chuckling as well. "Listen, don't mess with me and my favorite movies, alright. I will defend them to my last dying breath."
ย ย "Duly noted," he says with a grin. "What can I do for you?"
ย ย "I was actually hoping to speak to the owner about setting up a wedding order."
ย ย The guy with blonde hair almost identical to her own and blue eyes scanned her up and down and cocked his eyes to the side. "Aren't you a little young to be getting married?"
ย ย ย "You think you're the first person to make that assumption?" Liz resorted before shaking her head. "It's for my sister's wedding. You are looking at the maid of honor/wedding planner."
ย ย "Ah, now that's less crazy." He muses. "You are going to want to talk to my aunt. She's in the back. You can head on in."
ย ย "Customers are allowed back there?"
ย ย "Yeah, all clients who want to make orders for big events go to her office."
ย ย Liz nodded in understanding. "Oh, okay. Thanks..."
ย ย "Mitch Cooper," he introduced, holding out his hand which Liz took.
ย ย "Liz Chambers."
ย ย He slowly shook her hand but furrowed his dark brows. "Wait... I know that name. Liz is short for Elizabeth?"
ย ย "Umm... yeah?"
ย ย ย Suddenly his demeanor changed and his eyes were filled with sympathy. "You're the girl that survived that horrible highway crash last year."
ย ย ย Everything in Liz froze at those words. She swears the oxygen was sucked out at that moment. Thinking about that accident, realizing that she was in fact in the news as one out of two survivors. People have heard of her. They know her name. They know she lost her parents. She just hoped people would forget about it.
ย ย Apparently not.
ย ย "Oh..." She honestly didn't know how to respond. She was basically trying not to fall apart in front of a complete stranger.
ย ย "I'm so sorry, I should have never brought that up." Mitch immediately says, actually sitting up this time, taking his feet off the register. "It's just... I was in Seattle just getting off the exit about ten minutes before the first crash. It's something that lives in my head because all I keep thinking is, what if I left my house ten minutes later? What if I missed the exit?"
ย ย Liz slowly nodded, understanding where he was coming from. The idea that he was in Seattle that day and on the same Highway just minutes before... Liz thinks the same thing he does. What if they left early that day? What if she didn't fail that stupid math test?
ย ย Noticing the despair and pain in her eyes, Mitch immediately went into panic mode. "That was very insensitive of me just bringing that up like that and then talking about the fact that I was one of the lucky ones when you..." He buries his face in his hands. "Wow, I can't believe I just said that. I'm such an asshole."
ย ย Although Liz's heart was in agony, she had to admit, watching him ramble and beat himself up was pretty funny. "You're not an asshole."
ย ย "No. No, I am. My ex used to tell me all the time I needed to learn when to shut up and sometimes I thought he was exaggerating but now I hear it and now I have to admit that that prick was right which makes this even worse."
ย ย Liz couldn't help herself. She started laughing... loudly. So much so her sides started to hurt. Mitch just sat there looking completely taken back, but his own innocent smile spread on his lips. "I'm really hoping this laughing fit means you don't think of me as an arrogant ass."
ย ย Liz shook her hand, trying hard to catch her breath and calm down but it was hard. "Not at all. In fact, I think your rambles could be a start to a beautiful friendship."
ย ย Mitch's blue eyes beamed with amusement. "Well, that's actually great to hear because I could use someone with a sense of humor in my life right now. It's been one hell of a year. I mean, not like it's been for you. Damn it, I did it again. Fuck."
ย ย This sent Liz once again. "Oh yeah. I like you already." Once she finally was calm enough, she picked up the very thick binder and pointed to the back room. "I'm going to go find your aunt now."
ย ย Mitch chuckled. "I'll be here, most likely insulting the next customer that comes through
the door."
ย ย Liz went to leave but paused, turning back towards him. "Also, the Beatles are so overreacted."
ย ย His eyes widened in shock. "What? They totally are not! They are a classic and probably the one of the first bands that really got me into music. They basically have more hit albums then any rock band out there and they-" Mitch paused as soon as he saw the amused gleam in the blonde female's eyes and smirked. "You're just joking, aren't you?"
ย ย "Uh huh. You were right, that was funny." With that, she disappeared behind the curtain.

Another chapter! You have now met Mitch so both new characters are introduced! I think everyone is going to love Mitch if you don't already, same with Nolan. Can't wait to explore these new friendships and the wedding is getting closer and closer!!
Also a big change! I have decided to change Danny's face claim. Now I'm sorry for those who love Tyler Hoechlin, I love him too. But when I fan casted him for Danny, I didn't really think about the fact that he was supposed to be Native which the actor clearly isn't. I just wasn't thinking at the time and I tried to play it off but I've been really really thinking about it and I decided to just switch him.
Danny is now fan casted as the wonder Blair Redford. If you want to keep imagining him as Tyler, please be my guest but I just wanted you all to know.
Hope you all enjoyed this chapter!
