❝ SHE'S ALWAYS BEEN MY
PASSENGER PRINCESS. ❞

THE TRIO STOOD in eddie's garage, all staring at the sleek tesla parked inside. the bright white lights shined down on it, making it much more appealing to connor and reina.

eddie... not so much. "we can't! dennis loves this car."

"more of a reason to use it," reina smiled.

"you mean dennis, the literal motherfucker?" connor scoffed.

"maybe we should circle back around to the cigarettes, that idea had legs!" eddie nodded, trying to convince his friends not to go along with their idea.

"great, we'll buy some." connor grinned, lightly hitting his chest before walking forwards. "get in, i'm driving."

"i call shotgun!" reina excitedly put her hand up, speeding past a stunned eddie.

"hey, i wanna be up front!" he complained. "also, this is a bad idea."

connor opened the door and looked at him. "relax, i have my permit. i run errands with my mom all the time."

"yeah, besides, it's not like this is our first time," reina laughed.

eddie's eyes widened. "you've done this before?!" he looked between his two friends who were grinning at him. "you two are fucking insane - i'm friends with insane people!"

reina huffed out a laugh. "i thought you knew? we drove my dad's BMW around last summer."

"what, how?!"

reina shrugged. "he's never around to use it so why not," she chuckled.

"well if you've already done this then i should sit at the front!"

"nope. i love being a passenger princess, sorry not sorry."

she got into the car and closed the door after. eddie raised his brows, silently looking towards connor for help. he put his hands up in defence. "ay man, she's always been my passenger princess. you try argue with her and you'll lose," he laughed.

reina got herself comfortable in the passenger seat. whilst she was checking out the nice interior, she paused once she heard connor's words from outside the car. she bit down on her lip, trying to keep her composure. though, she was ever so slightly kicking her feet.

EDDIE AND REINA were quietly mumbling the words to teenage dream by katy perry, which was playing lowly in the background. she was happily enjoying her cookie dough ice cream, whilst eddie got his usual fluffernutter - which he also convinced connor to get.

connor slowed to a stop once they reached a red light. "i can't believe that dickhead wouldn't sell us cigarettes," he complained.

"you look thirteen fetus, of course he wouldn't," reina laughed, getting flipped off by him.

eddie shook his head. "yeah let it go, man. how's that fluffernutter? rei you're really missing out."

"i'm not trying to be an addict like you," she grinned at him through the rear view mirror.

eddie waved her off before looking back to connor. "so?"

connor rolled his eyes. "bomb as fuck," he sighed.

"oh yeah! don't tell me," eddie got out his phone and started recording him. "tell the people!"

since eddie was leaning forward and angled the phone to connor, reina was able to see his screen. "come on, let me see you flex!" he pressed on.

connor awkwardly started licking his ice cream, and reina grimaced in embarrassment. it was even worse for him, since his crush was seeing him do this - well, not really. she started looking out the window straight after, covering her laughs.

"you can do better than that one," eddie deadpanned.

it wasn't until the two started cheering and yelling that she turned back to look at the two. she smiled to herself, seeing eddie and connor goofing around.

they were losers, but they were her favourite losers.

"saving the planet, going green!"

"going green! that's all we see is green! woo!"

suddenly, eddie turned his phone towards her whilst she was laughing. "rei knows what's up!"

she shook her head, trying to stop smiling but was failing miserably. "i don't, send help, they kidnapped me in exchange for ice cream-"

"okay!" eddie turned the camera away, jokingly glaring at her. "anyway, just say the word if you wanna get up on this chocolate gooey ore-"

"oh shit!"

eddie immediately retreated back, sinking lower into the seat. he tried to hide himself as best as possible. reina and connor froze, staring back at the two police officers next to them.

reina took a glance at eddie who was ducked down in the backseats. she gave him a side eye, knowing that if they were going down, best believe eddie will be going down with them.

by some miracle, the police drove off without doing anything. they all took a huge sigh of relief, and reina put a hand over her fast beating heart, letting out a shocked laugh.

"okay, it's time to go home," eddie said firmly.

"no, no way man, we just started!" connor exclaimed, turning to reina. "you thinking what i'm thinking?"

she nodded. "i'm thinking we cruise by koosh's party," she grinned.

"oh, absolutely not!" eddie instantly disagreed.

"fun killer," reina pouted.

"oh c'mon man, this way, when we do go to our first party, we'll know what to expect!" connor convinced.

"hell no," eddie finalised.

reina and connor shared a look. however, they weren't going to give up yet. reina, being the stubborn person she is, discreetly gestured her head to eddie. connor nodded, already knowing her plan without sharing any words.

"think of it as a recon mission.. like in halo," connor shrugged nonchalantly.

"oh, but since eddie doesn't want to go, i guess he doesn't like recon missions as much," reina dramatically sighed.

connor shook his head. "yeah, real shame."

eddie sat up. "well actually i.. i do like recon," he hesitated.

"oh, we know you do," connor nodded, tilting his head and sending a smug smile to reina. since he had his leaned head back against the headrest, his jawline was prominent, and reina tried to hide her face with her half eaten ice cream cone - which was no help. at all.

"okay, fine!" eddie finally caved in. "just a quick drive-by, but be careful!"

the two best friends fist-bumped over the middle console.

"chill, man, i got this," he chuckled. but seconds after that, he accidentally activated the windshield wipers. "...trust the process, guys."

reina face palmed, and eddie put his head in his hands. "we're fucked."

"con, if you kill me, i'll scare you so bad as a ghost you die of shock."

"okay one, why the fuck would i want to kill you? and two, good... cause i wouldn't want to live without you anyway," he muttered.

"oh, what was that, connor? speak up." eddie pressed teasingly, having heard what he said.

reina didn't manage to catch the last sentence, unfortunately - or, fortunately, in which case if she did, she would've definitely jumped out of the car window. and instead of calling 911 for any injuries, she'd be frantically texting bailey and alyssa in full caps.

"i just said that i got this under control," he lied.

"really? because i could've sworn i heard that-"

without looking, connor put up his right hand and pushed eddie's face away, making him sit back down properly. he made eye contact with connor throguh the rear view mirror, grinning at him.

reina didn't pay them any attention. instead, she increased the music volume, teenage dream still playing. after getting a glare from connor, eddie put his hands up in defence before singing along with reina.

the curly haired girl continued to sing along with eddie. occasionally, connor would admire her whenever she wasn't looking.

at one point, she got really into it, even pointing at connor as she sang:

"i'ma get your heart racing, in my skin-tight jeans, be your teenage dream tonight!"
