❝ WHERE HE GOES, I GO. ❞

CONNOR COULD NOT take his eyes off of her. which was stupid, considering he's seen her a billion times and this was no exception. however, the minute she met up with him, benj, and eddie to go to koosh's party, he couldn't help but steal glances at her every two seconds.

no words in his vocabulary could describe how beautiful she looked - sure, she looked good everyday, but this was different. she had on dark navy blue parachute pants with a matching fitted halter top in the same colour, and her jordans and gold jewellery to top it all off - and don't even get him started on her hair. it was styled in her signature pretty half up half down.

coincidently enough, connor wore a blue denim jacket, a blue shirt underneath, and black pants. they unintentionally matched, but even so, their matching blue friendship bracelets was always a symbol of them being connected one way or another.

"boring, sloppy, lazy..." reina pointed to each rich house on koosh's street, her and eddie laughing and jokingly giving each one low ratings, knowing full well their houses weren't any better.

benj caught connor staring for the hundredth time and nudged him, grinning like a mad man. "so, are you gonna grow some balls and ask her out tonight or what?"

connor nudged him back, shaking his head. "well i was..but look at her!" he whisper-shouted. "i don't - i don't think i can, dude, she's way out of my league!"

benj rolled his eyes. "c'mon man - bailey's out of my league and you don't see me backing out from making a move! tonight is your chance!"

connor sighed, looking from benj to reina who was smiling and laughing. she's so cute, what the fuck.

"what's that saying she always says? um - oh yeah, put on your big boy pants and make a move!" he chuckled, patting him on the shoulder. "it'll be fine."

eventually making it to koosh's house, the four approached the large gate leading to the back area. "are you sure we're not too early?" eddie asked.

"nah, koosh said come for the VIP pregame," connor replied as him, reina, and eddie stood in front of the gate.

"what the hell does that even mean?" she asked, leaning against one of the beige pillars closest to connor.

"fuck knows," he shrugged before pausing, turning to look at her briefly. "by the way, you look really-"

suddenly, the gate opened, cutting him off. both cowboys quickly pulled their hands away. reina was on connor's left as they all walked into the main area, with benj in front of them.

there were already a decent amount of people present. soon, koosh walked up to them with a pitiful look, clutching his left forearm with his hand. they didn't even need to ask to know kayvon had just punched him.

"hey, guys," he greeted lowly. reina was the only one to catch it, but didn't say anything as she scanned the place.

she didn't really know what to think of parties. of course, she went to family and friend's birthday/event parties. but this was her first high school party. who knows what could happen tonight.

"damn, katrina aurienna is here?" eddie said, making all three friends focus on the popular blonde as she was successfully shotgunning a can of beer and threw it on the ground, yelling and pushing people.

"she's like a wild animal.."

"that was lowkey impressive." reina gaped.

"bad news guys," koosh said, gaining their attention. "kayvon says i can only have one plus-ones.."

reina knew from his tone earlier that something was wrong.

connor was clearly annoyed. eddie stared at him in surprise as benj's eyes widened. "you're kidding me, right?"

reina crossed her arms. "what the fuck - so i got ready for nothing?"

"well actually, you were always welcome to come rei, but for the rest of you guys," he turned to the other three. "he says the party's gonna have enough pussy without..you pussies."

"is it done?" kayvon called from a distance.

"i'm doing it!" koosh sighed, turning back to them. "sorry guys, my bad."

connor scoffed. "your bad? all week it's been 'my party, my party'," he mocked. "you can't even get four fucking plus-ones!"

reina winced. "three plus-ones?"

he looked at her and groaned once he realised. "oh fuck, now i'm doing it!"

benj stood in front of connor and eddie. "guys, i don't mean to be dramatic, but if i don't get with bailey tonight," he paused. "i'll kill myself."

eddie grimaced. "hey, hey, come on, no-"

"and you guys call ME dramatic," reina shook her head in disbelief.

"i need this. this might be my only chance, please i'll - i'll do anything!" benj pleaded.

connor crossed his arms and slightly cringed, looking around. if anything, he should also be pleading to go to the party - reina was still allowed to go, and if he wasn't going to be there with her and get his chance, then what?

"it's yours, honestly, i'm relieved." eddie shrugged.

"woah, woah, woah," koosh cut in. "not so fast. connor?"

the boy in question turned to him. "what?"

"benj here says he'll do anything. care to best that offer?" he provoked.

they all turned to look at him, but he only glanced at reina for a split second. she knew better than anyone that if he was provoked, especially for something stupid like going against his friend, then..

"go fuck yourself. i hope someone drowns in the pool and they sue your family," he snapped.

koosh winced, turning to reina. "you still staying, rei?"

"ummm," the girl looked back and forth between the two pairs of boys, having been stood in the middle of them. her gaze lingered on connor, though.

the boy frowned, seeing her hesitation. he gently grabbed her hand, dragging her to the side. "hey, don't worry about me. if you wanna go to the party, you should. i'm not stopping you," he said quietly so the others couldn't hear.

in the back of his mind, he wanted her to argue and say that she wanted to leave with him. but equally, he wanted her to stay and have a good time. he didn't know what to think anymore.

but after seeing her smile warmly at him and nod, he knew his answer. "have fun and be safe, okay?" he turned to eddie and gestured his head towards the exit. "let's go, eddie."

"later guys, good luck!"

right after the two left, she went with benj and koosh who looked at her in surprise. "i would've thought you'd stay with them, especially connor," benj said.

"that's because i am," she laughed. "sorry guys, i want to stay but after everything, it's just - where he goes, i go."

"it's cool, rei, we get it," koosh grinned. "you two lovebirds go ahead - ow!"

reina smacked the back of his head. "shut up," she muttered.

benj chuckled, and reina turned to give him a quick hug. "good luck with bailey! you got this - just be yourself dude."

breaking away from the hug, benj nodded. "good luck with connor, too," he grinned.

she rolled her eyes, but smiled nonetheless. she then started walking away, "see ya!"

exiting the gate, reina had never sped walked so fast in her life. there's no way they could've gotten that far?!

going into the main street, she spotted connor and eddie not too far away thankfully. catching up to them, the sounds of her rapid footsteps caused eddie turn around. when he realised it was her, he smiled brightly.

before connor had the chance to turn around, he felt a pair of arms wrap around his neck, and someone colliding into his back. "what the fuck-"

then he heard her laugh. he couldn't believe it. reina moved so she stood in front of him, her hands still around his neck. from the adrenaline of running, she didn't even fully process how close they were.

in contrast, their position gave connor sudden flashbacks from yesterday. he hoped she couldn't hear his loud heartbeat.

"what are you doing here, i thought you were staying?"

"well, i would've stayed..but i knew it would suck without you." she shrugged, switching so she stood next to him, linking their arms together.

"oh really?" he smiled.

she rolled her eyes. "inflate your ego, fetus. be happy i didn't want you to be stuck rotting away playing halo with eddie."

"hey!" eddie put a hand on his heart in offence.

"that isn't that bad," connor joked.

"oh? well maybe i should go back then-"

connor shook his head. "no no no, you don't have to do that, i mean.."

reina laughed. "oh really?"

he shrugged, a smile growing on his face. "well, you could go, but it would suck without you."
