❝ THAT'S FOR CONNOR. ❞

THE NEXT MORNING, reina was actually glad she slept over at benj's house, because she would avoid seeing connor on the bus.

"who the hell are you?" ruby asked her, locking his doors before she had the chance to get in.

she stood by his rolled down window. "name's reina."

ruby narrowed his eyes before turning to benj who sat in the passenger seat. "this your girl?"

both friends immediately grimaced, shaking their heads.

"she's like my sister!"

"hell no!"

ruby rolled his eyes, turning back to reina. "whatever, i'm forced to take his weasel ass to school, not you."

reina crossed her arms before humming. abruptly, she brought up the cattle prod, turning it on and bringing it towards ruby. the senior jumped away, "yo, what the fuck?!"

reina let the zapping go on for a couple seconds before turning it off with an innocent smile. ruby and benj looked at her in shock.

ruby then laughed. "i got one of my own! amazon prime, baby!" he dug into his backpack.

after practically tipping everything out, including a few...questionable things, he couldn't find his one.

"looking for this?" she smiled, turning the zap on and off playfully. "i always wanted one but i heard these are expensive as shit."

"how the fuck did you-"

"give me a ride or i'll zap you and your fucking car," reina shrugged, turning it on once more for extra effect.

ruby stared at her with narrowed eyes. "okay listen curly sue, i don't have time for this shit-"

"either i get a ride," she then tilted the rod towards the car. "or no one does."

ruby scoffed, shaking his head. benj held his breath, scared for what ruby would do.

unexpectedly, he then unlocked the back doors. reina happily opened the door and got in the back. "thanks dude."

ruby put his hand out behind him, looking at reina through the rear view mirror with an annoyed look. the girl grinned, handing him the cattle rod.

"bitches be bonkers," he muttered, shoving the rod back into his bag.

reina put on her seatbelt, but as soon as she heard the click, ruby sped off, making her and benj's back's sink into their seats.

benj held onto his seatbelt for dear life as ruby drove really fast and slightly exceeded the speed limits. "hey man - maybe, maybe you should slow down a little-"

"hey bro?"

"yeah?"

"shut the fuck up."

"yep."

meanwhile, reina was having the time of her life. as ruby continued to speed up, scaring benj in the process, reina cheered.

ruby laughed loudly. "see, she gets it!"

benj turned his head to her. "how the fuck are you not scared right now?!"

reina shrugged, smiling widely.

"SERIOUSLY, YOU TWO better make up soon because i'm not having bad vibes at my party."

benj rolled his eyes. "it's not your party."

"shut up, yes it is!"

eddie sighed. "i can't believe i'm saying this, but i agree. it feels weird to have you two fighting."

reina, eddie, benj, and koosh were all sat on one of the outside tables for lunch. connor didn't show up to school today. apparently he was 'sick', and she immediately called bullshit.

reina shrugged lazily, still evidently not in the mood to talk about it.

koosh rolled his eyes before getting his phone out. he quickly scrolled through his camera roll until he found the specific video he forgot he even recorded.

he wouldn't admit it, but he hated seeing his friends pissed off with each other. it was entertaining, sure, but after a while it was pretty inconvenient, especially when they were all supposed to have a good time at the party.

he went shoved his phone in front of reina. she furrowed her brows, "dude i don't wanna see another fake video of you fake bench pressing."

"what the - no, just look! this is actually what happened that day connor was pissed."

grabbing her attention, reina focused on the video in front of her, showing connor and dylan face to face, and a girl she knew was danica next to him.

"what do you want, fetus?"

"oh nothing, i just thought rei would be here with you."

as she fixated on the video, the three boys watched as she stayed eerily silent. when the video stopped playing right after connor walked away, she felt like she just went through several different emotions at once.

now she understood why connor was so upset. the fact that he cared for her so much to even confront dylan in the first place - she truly didn't deserve him.

the three boys shared an uneasy look, scared to say anything. they didn't know whether to comfort her, or run for the hills. they knew firsthand how reina gets when she's pissed - it's not a pretty sight.

scanning her eyes for dylan's lunch table, she couldn't spot dylan with his friends. getting up without a word, she walked to kai who leaned against one of the pillars on his phone.

he looked up to see her approaching him. just from the way she walked, he didn't even need to see the frown on her face to tell she was pissed off and upset. putting two and two together, he pointed to the right. "he's round the back."

walking away to where kai pointed to, she found dylan talking with danica, the two as close as ever. she immediately walking over to them, the other three boys following behind her in worry.

"you lying son of a bitch," reina spoke, interrupting the two's conversation.

dylan's eyes widened, stepping away from danic. he then feigned confusion, "huh? what - what are you talking about?"

reina rolled her eyes, grabbing koosh's phone out of his hands and playing the video to him and danica, who watched in complete shock.

"the audacity of you to flirt and use the same fucking compliment on me with another girl! how many other girls are there, huh?" she seethed, giving koosh's phone back.

danica scoffed, stepping away from him and moving towards reina's side to face him. "you've been flirting with the both of us?! aw hell no!" she looked at reina, "did he give you the same note in class?"

"wow reina/danica, you look beautiful?" both girls asked at the same time, groaning and making gag noises afterwards.

danica turned to the culprit. "oooh boy you got me fucked up!" she grabbed eddie's drink and opened the lid, throwing it all over dylan.

reina gave her a high five whilst the boys all laughed at dylan. koosh took a couple pictures, obviously.

"what the fuck?!" he yelled, wiping his face with his sleeves.

"i better not see your bitch-ass alien lookin' face ever again you fucking dick," danica snapped before turning to the dirty blond that just showed up. "kai treats me way better anyway."

said boy threw an arm around the dark skinned girl's shoulder. dylan looked at them two and scoffed, "you little shit - i always knew you weren't one of us you traitor!"

"and thank fuck for that," kai grinned, happily walking away with danica.

reina smiled, thinking danica and kai would be such a cute couple. it wasn't until dylan started yelling that the moment was ruined.

without hesitation, she went and kneed dylan in the balls. the boy instantly doubled over and fell to the floor, grunting in pain. the three boys behind her cheered her on.

"that's for connor."

not giving him another glance, she turned to her three friends who all stared at her. "what?" she laughed.

"that was awesome," benj smiled, ruffling her hair. eddie and koosh gave her high fives.

"thanks, but now i really need to apologize to con. i want my best friend back." she sighed.

benj and eddie both looked at each other before turning their heads towards koosh.

"what?" he asked, confused.

the two continued to look at him expectantly. eventually, his shoulders slumped as he understood what they wanted. "fine! i'll get her an uber," he said, turning to reina. "happy?"

she nodded, giving him a quick hug. "very."

after the hug lasted a little too long, she hit the back of his head to make him let her go. "ow! what - this is the thanks i get?"

she quickly walked away, laughing. "thank you!"
