Lilith stood in front of her high school with an excitement that she could not contain for the life of her. She had been buzzing about this day for years now; she was finally graduating from high school and she would never have to turn back. She was so excited that even the yellow gown that she was forced to wear for the ceremony couldn't take away the happiness that she was radiating.

"You ready, hobbit?" Oliver asked as he placed a hand on her shoulder, to which Lilith nodded her head enthusiastically. The parents had come back to Forks for the ceremony before they would leave again to find allies, this would be first and only Lilith's high school graduation and there was no way they would miss it.

Sierra let out a small excited screech as she held up the camera in her hand, "I need a picture." She announced, moving her handbag into her shoulder so she could free her hands and aiming the camera at her daughter, "Oh, Lil, you look so cute in yellow, you should wear it more often." She gushed.

"I would if it didn't wash me out." Lilith responded to her mother through her teeth as she smiled and posed for the photo. The girl had blonde hair and pale skin—which didn't go too well with the rich yellow colour of the gown.

"It doesn't wash you out as much as it does for me." She heard from the side, turning her head to see Tyler standing there looking absolutely disgusted by his appearance. Lilith let out an excited squeal and ran over to him, jumping to hug him, "It's good to see you too, Lilith. But, I have an important question for you."

Lilith let go of Tyler to look at him strangely when she noticed his hands behind his back, "What is it?" She asked him almost nervously.

"What did you get me for my graduation gift?" He asked her, and Lilith tilted her head to the side in confusion as he continued to speak, "Because I got you your gift and you're gonna love it."

Lilith's eyes widened in fear, "I didn't know we were doing presents." She admitted, "Oh, my God, I didn't get you anything, I'm such a horrible friend! I'm so sorry, I'll definitely get you something after today!"

Tyler laughed and released his arms from behind his back to reveal nothing in his hands, "We weren't doing presents, I was just messing with you."

Lilith couldn't help but scowl, "Rude."

Oliver and Sierra walked over towards their daughter and smiled at the interaction they had watched—they were definitely glad that she could experience a good and happy human life despite everything that she was brought into this life for. They were grateful for all of her human friends for bringing that normalcy to her life that Oliver and Sierra would never be able to give her themselves. And they were even more grateful for the pack and even the Cullens for keeping her safe and showing her the beauty of who she was, instead of living a life of regret because she felt like she would never be able to truly be herself around anyone else.

"We're going to go find our seats." Sierra told her, "We'll meet you inside, okay?" Lilith looked over at her mother and noticed the expression on her face which made Lilith squint her eyes lightly to try and analyse what the expression meant. Sierra looked happy, although there was something that didn't let it reach her eyes like her smile normally would. The hint of sadness made it all the more confusing, but, before she could question it, they waved and walked away, leaving Tyler and Lilith alone.

Tyler watched as the Bailey parents walked away and into the school auditorium before turning back to look at Lilith, "Since you love me and all, there is one teeny tiny favour I need to ask of you for my graduation gift." Tyler brought up and Lilith's eyebrows rose as she motioned him to go on. Tyler licked his lips nervously before letting out a sigh, "I want you to forgive Edward." Lilith didn't know what to say to Tyler, his words catching her by surprise as she thought that would've been the last thing on his mind, "Hear me out." Tyler held up his hands, "Ever since you two broke up, we all noticed how torn up you were about him—and while I personally won't forgive him for hurting you—I just think you need to start taking the steps to moving passed that part of your life with him."

"Why Edward though?" She questioned, "I figured you'd want me to move on with someone new or something."

Tyler gave a lousy shrug, "I don't think you two were meant for other people." He admitted, "You two are like magnets; you move, he moves. Your eyes constantly look for one other in a room and when you finally see each other, you feel relief and you feel safe. He makes you feel at peace with ease, you won't get that with someone else."

Did that bond of theirs seem obvious to humans? Did they notice how connected they really were? Or was Tyler just really observant or making all of this up because he wanted to see her happy with Edward again? Lilith looked down at her feet, "And how do you know that?" She whispered.

Tyler smiled and sighed as he placed an arm over her shoulders, leading her towards the auditorium, "Because I know." He simply answered, he then looked over to see Edward standing by the door, his eyes never leaving Lilith as they walked closer and closer. Tyler let out a small knowing smirk as he had practically just proved his previous point and bent down to murmur in her ear, "And because I see." As they got to the door, Tyler let go of Lilith and slowly walked towards his assigned seat before turning back to look at Lilith with his arms raised, "Just think about it for me, okay?" He shouted out as he walked backwards towards his seat, apologising ti the people he bumped into on the way.

"Okay." She agreed. Lilith looked around and then sighed, having to look for her seat and walked around the auditorium before eventually finding it towards the front as the rows were organised by last name.

The ceremony soon started once staff, guests and students were all seated and ready to go. The staff each giving out speeches about the past four years at Forks High School, among other speeches and announcements.

It wasn't long before the valedictorian was called up to the podium to give her speech to the graduating class.

"When we were five, they asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up." Jessica's voice could be heard throughout the entire auditorium. Her voice was confident and calm due to how much she had practiced her speech and she truly believed in what she was saying, "Our answers were things like astronaut, president... or, in my case, a princess."

The student body began to chuckle at her and Lilith turned her head to see Edward in the row behind her, and he nodded his head with a smirk confirming what she was saying was true which made Lilith giggle. She could definitely see a young Jessica saying confidently that she was going to be a princess when she grew up. There was no doubt about that.

"When we were ten, they asked again. We answered rockstar, cowboy, or in my case, a gold medalist." She continued, and the crowd chuckled once more, "But, now that we've grown up, they want a serious answer. Well, how about this?" Lilith watched as a small smirk played on Jessica's lips, trying to hold back the nerves and the excitement as she let out, "Who the hell knows?" Cheers and applauses erupted from the student body and even Lilith let out a large 'whoop!' to cheer on her close friend. "This isn't the time to make hard and fast decisions. This is the time to make mistakes. Take the wrong train and get stuck somewhere. Fall in love... a lot."

Lilith couldn't help but look back at Edward slyly as the crowd chuckled once again and quickly looked away with a blush as Edward sensed her looking at him, "Major in philosophy—because there's no way to make a career out of that. Change your mind, and change it again, because nothing's permanent. So, make as many mistakes as you can." She continued and Lilith but her lip as she thought deeply about her words.

Would not forgiving Edward be a mistake, or would it be forgiving him once again that would ruin her? She guess she would never know, but she would eventually have to make the choice someday.

"That way, someday, when they ask what you want to be... we won't have to guess. We'll know." Jessica finished, smiling at the audience before walking away from the podium, the student body cheering for her as she made her way back towards the seats, the girl feeling proud of herself and what she had just accomplished.

Lilith walked around the food table that was placed in the middle of the Cullen home, picking at the finger food as she made her way around it, eyeing off everything that was placed ever so perfectly on top of it while the loud music played in the background.

"Hey! You came!" Angela, Bella and Jessica all squealed as they finally saw Lilith, rushing to embrace her into a group hug that the small blonde witch gladly accepted.

"What did you think of my speech?" Jessica asked as she pulled away, "Too easy-breezy? Too self-helpful? You hated it?"

"It was perfect." Lilith said proudly, "You pretty much nailed it for sure."

A grin spread across Jess' face at Lilith's complement, "Yeah? It's like I was born to lead, right?" She joked and Lilith giggled.

"Good thing you're going to be studying politics at college then." Lilith couldn't help but point out, which made Jessica point at her knowingly.

The song then changed and Angela made an excited noise, "I love this song! Let's go." She said grabbing at Jessica's hands and dragging her over towards the dance floor, leaving Bella and Lilith by themselves.

"How are you?" Bella questioned her friend as she grabbed a small piece of chocolate and placed it into her mouth before shrugging.

"I'm doing okay considering my parents left again and who knows how long it'll be until I see them again." She responded.

Bella's eyes softened, "They'll be back soon, and then this'll all be over." She said, trying to be positive which Lilith saw right through.

Lilith's eyes then shifted to behind Bella when she saw Jake, Quill, Embry and Paul walk into the party and she made a confused face as she wasn't expecting them to be there at all. The two walked over to them and said hello each of them, "What are you guys doing here?" Lilith said in confusion, not really knowing why they would be since they didn't graduate with their high school, "Not that I'm not happy to see you." She backtracked.

"Edward invited us." Jake told her, nodding his head over at the vampire who took his cue and began to walk over towards them, "He figured you're feel more comfortable in being here with us here as well."

Lilith turned around to see Edward beside her, her eyes softened, "You invited them?" She asked in awe.

Edward shrugged, "You told me I needed to start making an effort in trusting them; here's me making that effort." He explained.

The witch couldn't contain herself as she instantly hugged Edward, catching almost everyone by surprise, "Thank you." She whispered into his chest as Edward nervously placed his arms around her back. She then quickly pulled away before clapping excitedly, grabbing onto Paul and Embry—who grabbed onto Quill—and pulled them towards the dance floor to dance alongside Angela and Jessica who were still dancing their night away.

The two human girls tried not to comment on Lilith's change of heart when it came to having a good time, considering they could tell that the boys might of had something to do with it and they didn't want her uncomfortable and go back into her hermit mode—they missed their happy Lilith. Jake and Bella even joined them for a short while and the group all danced and had fun, feeling finally free from the traps of high school.

It felt like an hour of just dancing before Lilith felt extremely hot, telling the group she was going to get some water to cool herself down and began to walk towards the kitchen with Bella and the pack boys all following after her. The boys didn't want her to get out of their sight and something accidentally happens to her, so they decided it would be best to have eyes on her at all times.

Lilith grabbed onto the cup of water and took a sip as Edward came rushing into the kitchen, his eyes widened with fear as he walked over towards her, "You need to come with me." He told her and Lilith made a confused face.

"Why? What's wrong?" She asked.

"There's no time to explain here." He shook his head while the rest of the group were standing there wondering what was going on, "Can you all please just come with me?" He asked them.

Lilith let out a defeated sigh and placed her cup down, letting Edward take her hand and lead her towards one of the rooms upstairs that was away from prying ears. She seemed even more confused when she noticed that Alice, Jasper and Carlisle looked worried, "What's going on?" Lilith questioned as the rest of the group walked in the room also.

"You know how I've been watching over the decisions? Well, the decisions been made. We aren't going to Seattle." Alice told them and Lilith's eyebrows furrowed as she couldn't understand why that would make them seem so worried, "They're coming here."

Lilith's eyes widened as she realised who 'they' were and how it could all turn so horribly wrong, "How long do we have?"

"They'll be here in four days." Alice answered her as Carlisle began to pace.

"This could turn into a bloodbath." The Cullen father figure said, stressed out as this was another thing they would have to worry about.

Edward turned to look at his adoptive sister, "Who's behind it?" He asked her.

"I didn't see anyone I recognised." Alice answered him, recalling what she could from the vision. She then remembered something from it, "Maybe one."

Edward looked into her mind, seeing the face that she could recognise and knew who it was almost instantly as he had seen his face also. "I know his face." Edward confessed, "He's local. Riley Biers. He didn't start this." He told the rest of them. Edward didn't believe that Riley would have the means to start an army of newborns to come to attack them in Forks.

"Well, whoever did is staying out of the action." Alice pointed out as Bella reached out to grab Lilith's hand to try and calm her down.

Carlisle shook his head, "They must be playing with the blind spots in your vision." He realised.

Jasper's jaw clenched, "Either way, the army is coming and there aren't enough of us to protect the town from them and the high priest."

Jake then scoffed, "Hold up. What damn army?" he questioned as the wolves were completely out of the loop when it came to this army threat, they were only in the know when it came to the high priest.

"Newborns. Our kind." Carlisle answered his question as he leaned against the table behind him.

"What are they after?" Embry also questioned, not understanding what an army of newborns could want in Forks.

"They were passing around Lilith's scent." Alice answered, "A black blouse." She recalled and Lilith made a face as she didn't even notice it was missing in the first place.

"They're also after Lilith?" Paul questioned, looking shocked and angry at the same time, "What the hell does this mean?"

"It means an extremely ugly fight with lives lost." Carlisle warned them, sensing that they would possibly want to join in on the fight, and he needed to point out the dangers before they got too involved.

"At least I graduated first before they came to try and kill me." Lilith commented to herself, pursing her lips as she tried to look at the positive side of things. At least she had finished high school at least once before she died—she could live with that... or you know, not.

The wolves all looked at each other before turning back to look at the Cullens, Jake's nostrils flared as he said, "Alright, we're in."

"No." Lilith argued, "You'd get yourselves killed. No way." She wasn't happy that they were willing to lay down their lives for her like that. To her, she wasn't worth any of it. It pained her for her to think that they would get hurt because of her and the people that were coming after her.

"It means more protection for you." Edward pointed out to her, which didn't sit right with Lilith at all.

Carlisle turned to look at Paul, "Paul, do you believe Sam would agree to an understanding?" He asked as he crossed his arms.

"When it comes to Lilith, he'll do anything." Paul pointed out. Like most of them would, he thought to himself. He then licked his lips, "Especially if we get to kill some vampires."

Carlisle looked at Jasper, "Jasper?" He questioned, wanting to know his opinion on it all and if it would work out in their favour to have them on their side.

"It'll give us the numbers." Jasper noted, "Newborns won't know they even exist. That'll give us an edge."

"We'll need to coordinate." Carlisle sighed as he stood up from his spot, "We'll all need some training. Fighting newborns requires knowledge that Jasper has. You're welcome to join us." He said to the wolves.

"Alright. Name the time and place." Jake told Carlisle as he took a step towards him.

Lilith looked at Bella with pleading eyes, hoping that she would convince them not to do this, "Don't give me that look." Bella begged her, "Lilith, you've saved my life a lot of times in the short time we've known each other, let us do something that I know will save yours."

The overwhelming feeling soon flooded Lilith, she couldn't help but worry as the thoughts and images of her friends and family getting hurt while the newborn army and the high priest stood over them flashed in her mind. She was so willing to give herself up to the high priest to protect them all, but now, with the army after her as well, she wanted to let them have what they wanted also.

But, there was only one of her, and it was just a matter of who cane after her first.

Lilith looked around at everyone, seeing how worried they looked as they could sense the panic attack coming on. Jasper took a step towards her before he would try and use his gift on her to try and calm her, but before he could do anything, she turned and she ran out of the house.
