For someone who isn't considered normal, Lilith had acclimated quite well into the term. She goes to a normal school, with normal friends, despite not having a normal life or normal ex-boyfriend. She wants to forget the second part because now it has quite a negative light attached to it, and wants to focus on the good part. She's still ignoring Edward and his whole family, but, has grown significantly closer to Bella and Jake, along with the rest of the pack and her school friends—people she could rely on, and lean on in times of crisis. The next day, Lilith sat down at her lunch table with her friends and they all greeted her with a smile, to which she returned. These are the people she needs to surround herself with, because she's secure to know that they won't just leave her at the drop of a hat.

"Hey, you're just in time." Mike smiled.

"Yeah, we're going over Jess' speech for graduation. Mike's apparently been helping her out." Eric told her and Lilith made an excited face, "Let's see what you got, Mike."

"Check this out, 'My fellow students.' Right?" Mike started, pointing his pen and his friends for their opinions who change gave sarcastic responses, "We are the future. Anything is possible, if you just believe.' Blah blah blah—and you got yourself a speech." He said handing Jessica her notebook back.

Lilith turned to Jessica, "Who let him try?" She asked jokingly, "I get you love him, but, wow, that speech just was not it."

"I agree with Lilith; this'll be my speech when I want everyone to throw diplomas at my head." Jessica sarcastically smiled at her boyfriend before tearing the paper up, scrunching it into a ball and tossing it at his face lightly, "So, thank you." She said and Mike winked at her.

"You gotta embrace the clichés, Jess." Mike told her, a small smirk still playing on his lips as he teased his girlfriend.

"They are the bread and butter of all valedictorians." Eric agreed, pointing his fork at her teasingly and Jess went to grab it but Eric snatched it away quickly and stuck his tongue out at her.

"And that is why you are not valedictorian." Angela reminded Eric who only shrugged at her.

"Jess doesn't need clichés." Bella spoke, "The speech is gonna be epic."

"Epic? It'll change lives." Jessica stated cockily.

"It definitely will as long as you don't go with Eric and Mike's cliché filled speech." Lilith teased and Jess laughed with her, Lilith's laughter dying down a little as Alice, Jasper and Edward came and sat down at their table.

"I've decided to throw a party." Alice announced with a big smile on her face.

"After all, how many times are we gonna graduate high school?" Jasper asked and both Lilith and Bella couldn't hide the looks on their faces once he said that knowing they will most likely graduate high school plenty of times.

"A party... at your place?" Angela questioned, not really believing what she was hearing as she pointing at the adoptive siblings just to double check she heard correctly. Even after four years of high school together, the Cullens had never been social enough to throw a party, so it seemed strange to her and the rest of the friendship group that now they wanted to be social butterflies and throw a party for the whole senior year.

"I've never seen your house." Jessica said, realising now after the four years that they've known each other, she had never seen their house or driven by it.

"No one's ever seen their house besides Lilith." Eric reminded his friend.

"A party? Really?" Lilith asked Alice with distaste, she wasn't sure what her motives were when it came to this party and what she was trying to pull considering Lilith had distanced herself from the Cullens—and she knew that she would definitely have to be dragged there if they wanted her to go. She couldn't think of anything worse than pretending everything was all sunshine and rainbows with the Cullens just because they decided they wanted to throw a party for the senior year to somehow make up for the things that they've done.

"It'll be fun." Alice said to her, emphasising the word 'fun' to her, hoping her words would convince her to go.

"Right." Lilith simply grumbled, she then watched as a blank look fell over Alice's face and she slumped back in her seat, a sign she was having a vision. She then looked over at Edward who had a look of concentration over his own—meaning he was looking into it and if Lilith didn't act quick enough, people would begin to notice what was happening and be slightly weirded out, "Hey, Angela." She called and most of the groups attention fell onto Lilith, a flash of relief flooding her as her last minute plan was beginning to work.

"Yeah?" The girl asked, the Cullens no longer on her mind and her attention was completely on her friend.

"I finished my final this morning and I was wondering if you could come over this afternoon and help me go over it?" She asked her friend, hoping it would be enough to distract everyone from the Cullens.

Angela modded, "Oh, yeah, I'll only be able to stay for a little bit because of my mom, but, I'll definitely stop by!"

Lilith shot a look over to see that Alice had snapped out of it even though Jasper and Edward were still looking over at her with a look of concern and she turned back to Angela and smiled, "Thanks, you're the best."

Angela chuckled and flipped her hair lightly, "I know." She said to her jokingly making Lilith giggle and shake her head at her.

The bell then rang, causing Lilith to flinch lightly as she wasn't expecting it and she had completely lost track of time. The girl quickly packed up her things before she began to walk to class, groaning to herself when she realised she had Biology and she had to sit next to Edward still.

She sat down at her lab desk, Edward soon following in and sitting down next to her, the girl not even reacting to him and simply keeping her eyes on Mr. Molina as he taught his lesson for the day and memorising what they had to do for the practical work they had to do, making sense of what was on their desks and why they would need them.

The two began their work in silence, Edward wanting to start a conversation with her but deciding against it when he saw the look on her face that meant he shouldn't bother otherwise she would probably use her magic on him in the middle of the class.

The blonde girl grabbed the eye dropper before and placed two drops of the liquid onto the microscope slide before asking, "So, what did Alice see?" Despite how angry she was with them, she was still curious, and unfortunately that would always triumph any other emotion she would feel.

"It was nothing." He answered her, clearly lying.

"Hmm. I'm sure if it was nothing you wouldn't of looked so worried." She stated, still not looking at him as she continued to do her work, "You still look worried now."

He scoffed lightly, realising that he still wouldn't be able to get much passed her and tried to think of something else to say to her, "Just that everyone noticed how strange Alice is."

"That ship has sailed a while ago unfortunately." She commented before placing her equipment down and finally looking at Edward, "And you know... if you really want me to forgive you and trust you again like you've been begging me to do, you're going to have to start telling me the truth when I ask for it, otherwise this isn't going to work at all. Trust goes both ways, remember?" She wanted to give into Edward, but, the constant nagging of how he lied to her; and left her; and kept things from her was constantly pushing at the back of her head and she knew she needed to give into it otherwise it would just be another repeat.

Edward sighed, realising he had no other choice other than to tell her because he knew that she would go through with her promise. But, he decided to tell her something that wasn't exactly Alice's vision to get her off his back and not frighten her. And considering they were in class, it probably wasn't the best place to be telling her anything in the first place, "We've been tracking the situation that's been happening in Seattle for a while now. Unexplained disappearances. Killings. If the situation gets any more conspicuous, the Volturi will step in." Edward said to her.

"If they go to Seattle, they could come here." Lilith realised, falling for the distraction. Seattle was way to close to Forks for the Volturi to not want to stop by, and by the sounds of it, nobody wanted that.

"And they could see that you're still a witch and not a vampire." Edward reminded her, "But, it won't get that far. But, we'll have to go to Seattle if we have to."

"It shouldn't matter too much since they didn't exactly give us a time limit for their request." Lilith pointed out, finding the loophole, "The only main thing they asked is that I am not liability to them, which I could never be." Lilith didn't exactly feel like being seen as a threat to the vampire community, half the time she was proving she wasn't a threat to her own community. She wouldn't be able to handle both species against her.

"There are ways to avoid the Volturi so they won't come here, so there's no need to stress about that other request." Lilith looked over at him, knowing it was about her becoming a vampire, "It won't happen anyway. I won't let it."

"Right." She grumbled. Alice's visions were subjective to change, sure, but, throughout most of Lilith's life choices, not once did Alice say that the vision had changed and she didn't think that Edward 'refusing to let it happen' will do much to the future. Not that she didn't have faith in him to keep her safe—albeit not having much faith in general anymore, due the the circumstances of him breaking her trust—she just didn't seem to like the idea of placing her head in the sand and hoping that it wouldn't happen.

And until the day comes that Alice says that the vision had changed and Lilith would no longer be a vampire in the future, she doesn't believe a thing that Edward says about it.

Among anything else that he says.

That night, Lilith sat on her bed playing with Dakota, laughing lightly as she watched the black sat struggle against some string that she had pulled out of the cat's toy box when she sensed someone close to the boundary of the house. Her smile dropped as she walked towards the window seeing Jasper standing close to the edge of the backyard. The vampire walked closer up until the border stopped him and Lilith crossed her arms, "What are you doing here?" She questioned.

"Edward wanted me to pass on a message for him, he figured you wouldn't listen if it was him standing here so he hoped that you would hear me out instead." Jasper answered her question, shrugging slightly.

The blonde leaned against the window sill, a small smirk playing on her face as she responded, "If he wanted his plan to work, maybe he should've used Esme or Rosalie instead."

"Well, I think we can both agree that my brother isn't exactly that smart." Jasper couldn't help but retort to the blonde's comment, not taking offence to her saying that he wouldn't listen to him which made Lilith snort.

That's an understatement and a half, she thought to herself. Whatever Edward had to say must've been important however if he was desperate enough to send his brother to hopefully get her to hear out whatever he had to say. Hopefully it wasn't something so ridiculous that it would make her regret hearing it out but due to her being curious—it made her want to know whatever it was.

There was a moment of silence before Lilith let out a small defeated sigh, "Stay there." She muttered, giving into her thoughts and her curiousness and walked downstairs towards the back door, Dakota following after her owner and sitting beside Lilith's feet. The blonde leaned against the doorframe of her back door, keeping her distance from Jasper as she still didn't trust him and crossed her arms, "Well, whatever it is, it better be good."

"Edward needs you to stay inside tonight while we deal with something." Jasper told her which made Lilith raise an eyebrow, "The boundary will keep you safe and he doesn't want you to accidentally put yourself in danger since we don't exactly know how tonight might end."

"Does this have something to do with Alice's vision?" Lilith questioned, feeling like this was what had Edward and Alice so worried at lunch. Plus, it had to be more than what Edward had told her in class considering that he had a habit of hiding things from her nowadays. But, she couldn't deny that what Jasper was telling her sounded serious and she would be stupid to not listen to the warning she was being given.

"Something like that." Jasper responded vaguely.

Lilith rolled her eyes at the answer, figuring she probably wouldn't of gotten a straight answer from any of them anyway unless she wanted to pry one out of them—it had always been that way and she should've known that this wouldn't be any different, "Okay, you can let Edward know that I received his message and I'll stay indoors." The witch said and turned around, "Not like I have much of a choice anyway since I'm grounded thanks to him."

While the boundary was to keep the supernatural out of the Bailey home, it also served to keep Lilith in during her punishment time besides when she would have to leave for school, thanks to her parents creativity; and she was too lazy to waste up energy and power to dismantle it to sneak out for any reason.

"Wait." Jasper said and Lilith halted before turning around, "How are you doing?" He suddenly asked, taking Lilith by surprise.

"You want to know how I'm doing?" She asked back, not sure if she had heard that correctly or if she did—why would he want to know that, "Why?"

Jasper shrugged. "I've noticed how sad Edward is whenever he comes home after he's said he's going to see you. It doesn't take a mind reader to figure out what's happened." He explains, "But, I thought I would volunteer to pass on his message so I could come round and see how you're doing. This situation can't be easy for any of you."

"I guess you could say that." Lilith decided to keep her answer as vague as possible because she knew that Edward would be able to see and read Jasper's thoughts on this interaction and she didn't want him to get any wrong ideas, "But, I'm doing as well as I can be considering the circumstances. But, because I'm talking to you, it doesn't change anything between any of us."

"We know that us leaving you must have hurt you deeply, but, hopefully one day you can forgive him for making that decision in the first place. He only wanted to keep you safe." Jasper said.

"I don't know if I can forgive him." Lilith said in a soft voice, after everything that had happened, her heart hurt too much to consider that option. She still needed time to heal. The girl slowly moved to sit on the bench that was close to the deck near the border and rested her elbow on the armrest, placing her chin on her hand. Jasper sat down on the ground also in front of her, his arms holding his knees up comfortably, the distance still keeping them apart, "He hasn't done anything for me to want to forgive him. He's only just asked for it, but, his actions haven't deemed him forgivable in my eyes."

"But, how do you prove yourself forgivable after leaving the person you loved. Wouldn't you think that being there for them proves that you're trying?" Jasper tried to defend his brother and his methods of begging for forgiveness.

"It's not just the fact that he left that hurt me. It was him continuously pushing me away; it was him making decisions that would affect me without consulting me about it; it was the insults and the gaslighting; and it was the lies. He lied to me, Jasper. Even after I had told him how I can't do lies; that they're dangerous, and he still did it!" She ranted, bringing her knees up to her chest and resting her chin on her kneecap, pouting, "He left me with this huge hole in my chest—and I can see he feels horrible about it—but, my head can't forget about it, and just reminds me how he didn't even seem distraught about having to leave me."

"I can tell you now that I've never felt such knee buckling pain coming from someone until the day that he left you." He admitted, "He did what he thought was best to protect you—even though it was wrong and badly thought out. He thought he was protecting you, but, he wanted to be by your side and protect you—not thousands of miles away."

"Did you agree with his choice?" She questioned, turning her head to look at him.

He chuckled, a small smirk playing on his lips, "There was a part of me that could see where he was coming from, but, there's that other part of me that thinks that it was a stupid idea." If it were Alice, he would do what he thought would protect her, and if it were to lead someone like Victoria away from her by leaving or make her think that Alice meant nothing to him and her death wouldn't affect him, then he would because it would protect her. But, then again, he knows there would be no one better to protect her than himself. And Lilith was the same, there was no one better to protect her other than Edward, she also had her magic to protect her along with her parents and the Cullens, along with the Uley pack. She couldn't of been more safe, but, with Edward's choice to leave, it cut her protection in half.

Lilith sat in silence, her mind clouded with thousands of different thoughts and scenarios in her mind and she tried to picture everything that happened in his shoes in the way that Jasper had described it instead of how she had thought it had happened for months in her own mind. She frowned as it continued on and she pictured him in agony and grieving their relationship when she suddenly felt a wave of calmness wash over her, the girl turned her head to Jasper, "No fair." She remarked, whispering, his ability taking control over her without a choice.

The vampire smiled, "Sorry." Lilith was an anxious person, that much he knew from most of her encounters. He noticed plenty of times the almost panic attacks and how she constantly was in a state of anxiousness and sometimes got overwhelmed quickly until Edward or someone else eased her mind. He tried to help her subtly whenever he could—Edward had even asked him to look out for her a few times because he knew it happened often.

The thought of his ability reminded Lilith of something as she quickly told him to wait there and ran into her room and grabbed the small box she had in her wardrobe before running back to Jasper and handing it to him, his eyebrow raised at her for the gift but she only shrugged at him telling him to open it. Jasper looked at what was inside and then looked up at Lilith, "You got me a bracelet?"

"Before you get any ideas, it's not an olive branch. I had it made a while ago before you left and I still had magic. I figured I might as well give it to you now instead of holding onto it." Holding onto the bracelet would only remind her of how much she would do for them, and how little it meant for the Cullens when they left her.

"What's it for?" Jasper asked, looking at it still.

"I noticed that whenever we were at school or anywhere else you would look longingly at your siblings' ability to be around human blood with ease, while you struggled because you were carrying all of their thirst on your back; so, I wanted to help, but... you left before I could give it to you." She told him and pinched the bracelet from the box and held it up. She had never really gotten rid of it because it was the last thing she had made with her magic, and she wanted to remember the times that she did have it and not let it go before all she could remember were the times that she couldn't use it and the pain it caused her, "It'll help calm the thirst and you won't have to worry about accidentally hurting someone, which is something you don't want when your wife is planning on throwing a party for the entire human senior year in your safe space." She explained.

Jasper looked at it in awe as Lilith placed the bracelet on his wrist, his mind wowed at how she had the ability to do such a thing, and how she had picked up on his emotions and thoughts without even having his or Edward's gift just by being an observant and caring person. "You are a treasure, Lilith Bailey." He admitted.

"Yeah, well, tell that to Edward, I guess." She said before standing up and walking back towards the back door where Dakota had been patiently waiting. She then turned back to Jasper who had stood up also and said with a tight smile, "Whatever you and your family plan on doing tonight, I would hope that you would at least try to stay safe."

"We'll try." Jasper nodded his head. "As long as you stay inside."

Lilith held up her hands in surrender, "Don't worry, I don't plan on being anyone's way tonight." She said before walking back up to her room. The girl went towards her window to see that Jasper had left.

But, she couldn't wash off the feeling that someone was still there.

And they were still watching her.
