When Lilith opens her eyes and focused right onto her parents who were standing above her, she expected to be a lot more angrier at them than she was. They had omitted the truth from her again about the fact that shapeshifters lived in the area, and the fact that they had said that they told her everything. She isn't happy—but, she isn't surprised. If anything, she has just solidified that she can't trust them as much as she once did before. Clearly, she can't trust them to tell her the truth and keep her in the loop, why should she trust them with anything else going on in her life?

The girl only huffed, "So... werewolves live in town." She grumbled flatly, "I just found that out today."

Oliver chuckled slightly at how calm she was about it, not noticing that it was because she was numb from their repeat betrayal, "Yeah, they do." He told his daughter as he slowly helped her sit up. When Lilith sat up, her hand went to her head as she groaned, "Be careful. You hit your head really badly when you fell down earlier." He informed her.

Soon enough, the witch looked up and saw Billy Black make his way towards her with a bunch of shirtless men and a girl behind him, no doubt the human version of the pack of wolves that had saved her from Laurent. The one in the front walked over towards Lilith and her parents and Sierra smiled at him, "Sam, I don't know how I'm supposed to repay you. You saved my daughter again."

Again? Sam saved her twice? God, that's embarrassing. He probably thinks you're the biggest moron, Lilith thought to herself.

Sam only nodded, "We do what we can for the witches. Your people will be safe with us." He responded, his voice as gruff and as tough as he looked. The man stood proudly just like an alpha would and it slightly intimidated Lilith just by being in his presence.

"We appreciate it, Sam." Oliver said and the pack soon turned around and walked out of the small home and towards the forrest behind it. Oliver looked at his daughter, "That is the last time you're leaving the house unattended."

"Really, Oliver?" Sierra scolded. Oliver wanted her to get out of the house and now he wanted her back in it? "What happened today wasn't her fault." She must've woken up in an alternate universe, or it must be opposite day since her parents usually work in opposite roles.

"Is Laurent dead?" Lilith questioned her parents suddenly, remembering what had happened in the field, "And is Bella okay?"

"Laurent is dead and Bella is alive." Jacob said from behind them, causing Lilith to look over at him in shock that he was there.

"Jacob?" She asked in shock, "What are you—?"

"She got to your parents quite quickly to let them know what was going on." He cut her off, "Laurent tried to get away, but, they stopped him in time for the pack to catch up and finish him."

"Oh." The blonde mumbled, clearly Jacob didn't want to talk about his new status as a shapeshifter. She didn't feel that sorry for Laurent's end after all he tried to kill her and do Victoria's bidding, "Where is Bella now?" She would've thought that Bella would be somewhere near by.

"We accidentally crossed paths when she was going to get your parents. She's in a state of shock at the moment. Charlie's looking after her." Jacob answered her again. He would never forget the look of fear in her eyes when Bella came close to him in his wolf form, she could tell there was something familiar about him but at that moment, she didn't recognise him. All she saw was a large wolf and it terrified her.

"Does that mean she knows about you being... you know?" She questioned, pointing at his shirtless self. If Sam was an alpha and they all wore the same tattoo, it only made sense that Jacob was a shapeshifter and was apart of the pack as well.

Jacob shook his head. "No, she doesn't know yet. I don't know how to tell her either... if I even do."

"Bella can handle the truth." Oliver spoke up, crossing his arms, defending Bella's mental and emotional strength. Bella was a good friend of Lilith's and it made Oliver protective over her like she was a second daughter to him, "She can handle a lot more than you think. She was able to live with the fact that we are witches and the Cullens are vampires; and she hasn't even thought about running yet. I think she'll be okay with you being a wolf."

"But, what if this is too much and it finally drives her over the edge?" Jacob argued back lightly, "It's what made me push her away because I didn't want to drive her insane. This world isn't for everyone."

Sierra rested her hand on Oliver's arm as she remembered how she practically had the same conversation with him weeks ago, "It isn't for everyone, but, it is for Bella. She was made for it for a reason."

"Let's hope so." Jacob sighed as he ran a hand over his newly cut hair. It was strange to see him without the long hair and Lilith wondered how Bella felt about it as well. She also wondered what was the deciding factor for him to get the haircut in the first place. Lilith then watched as there was a small look on his face to show he was concentrating on something. She recognised it as Edward used to make that same face when he was listening to someone's thoughts or listening to something in the distance, "The pack wants to meet you."

Lilith's eyes widened slightly, she wasn't sure why they would want to meet her. She wasn't someone valuable and she felt like to them she was more like a nuisance to them considering how many times Sam and the pack has had to save her already. But, after the Cullens leaving, she needed all the friends she could have to hopefully fill the void that was her heart. She missed being social and maybe it wouldn't be so bad to have new friends. Even if they were shapeshifters.

Lilith looked over at her parents with puppy dog eyes, Oliver did say that she wouldn't be leaving the house unattended again, but, she wouldn't technically be unattended. Jacob would be there and so would Sam and the rest of the pack, "Go." Sierra gave in which made Lilith grin, and Oliver looked over at her in disbelief, but, with one hardened look, Oliver's went away.

Jacob began to walk in the direction that Sam and the pack had went towards earlier and Lilith practically skipped behind as she followed wherever he was going blindly, "Where are we going anyway?" Lilith asked as they walked through the forrest.

"Sam's house. That's where the pack hangs out usually." Jacob answered her casually. To Jacob, it was strange how everything all made sense now that he phased. Like why Sam would stare at him so expectantly or why they would have to stop talking to their human friends because it was too hard to keep a secret like that. It made sense as well as Jake was so confused why Sam and his pack were so close, but now, he couldn't see himself not being that way with them.

Not to mention how he always got weird vibes from the Cullens—which made sense when he found out they were vampires—and from the Baileys because they were witches. It definitely opened up his eyes to the world around him.

"So... how does it feel to be a shapeshifter?" Lilith asked to try and make conversation. Lilith and Jake were never really that close, they were slightly friends because of Bella, but, it wasn't like they spent a lot of time together because Lilith was always with Edward and Bella was with Jacob. Plus, she knew it would be way too awkward to ask for the four of them to hang out together.

Jacob chuckled and shook his head, "I don't know how to explain it... but, it's kind of freeing. Like there was something apart of me that was missing when I didn't know... and then I phased, and it just all made sense as to what it was."

"That must be nice." The blonde commented, "It's also kinda cool how you can shape shift into a wolf. Most people can't do that."

"Says the one with magical powers." The boy snorted and he watched as Lilith's face dropped, "What's wrong?" He asked, slightly panicked as he realised he must've said something wrong to upset her.

"I just don't have any 'magical powers' anymore." She shrugged sadly. It hurt her having to tell people the same thing constantly, she had slowly started to accept the fact that she didn't have her magic anymore, but it hurt having to say it out loud to people over and over again without knowing when it would finally be over and no one will ask again, "They kind of walked out the door along with Edward. I can rarely use it, and when I do it physically pains me."

Jacob huffed, "You know I'm really not liking the sound of him." He grumbled. He's barely ever heard anything nice about Edward from both Bella and Lilith. The only ever nice thing he's heard about him was that he made Lilith happy—but, it was evident that that was no longer the case. He had no idea how Lilith could love someone like that.

"You wouldn't like him regardless. You know, because of the whole mortal enemies thing." Lilith pointed out, "But, before all of this, he truly wasn't a bad person. He still isn't now. I can understand why he left me, I would too if I saw what I was becoming. It would've been suicide for him."

Jacob halted, "That's a sick joke, right?" He questioned. He couldn't comprehend why she would think that way about herself and her relationship, "Why would you still defend this guy?"

"Because although he might not love me—and as much as I don't want to, I still love him, and you do that for people you love." Lilith explained it, "He was doing what was best for him and his family because being around me when I'm becoming a dark witch would ruin them."

"Again, that's got to be a sick joke." The shapeshifter shook his head in disbelief from what he was hearing come out of Lilith's mouth, "You don't even have magic, how could you be turning into a dark witch? There's not a single bad bone in your body from the things that I've heard from Bella and from what I've seen for myself. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself and you shouldn't subject yourself to listen to that crap that he said about you." Bella never had a single bad thing to say about Lilith, she always said how much of a good person she was and how she was constantly saving her or helping her out. Lilith was always a good friend to Bella and that in itself is a good example how she couldn't be a dark witch if she was constantly doing good things for people.

Lilith lightly smiled, "I'm starting to see why Bella fell so hard for you. You're a good guy, Jacob." She said which made Jacob smile back at her gratefully. It was nice to hear that acceptance from the best friend of the girl he loved.

"You know you can call me Jake, right? We are friends." Jake pointed out.

Lilith simply shrugged again, "I didn't want to call you that in case it was something only certain people called you." She responded, "But, if we are friends, does that mean I can ask you a slightly personal question?"

"Go for it." He told her.

"Why do you really not want to tell Bella about you being a shapeshifter?" Lilith asked, slightly catching Jake off guard as he was expecting something a little bit more personal in a completely different way, "Because there's gotta be something more than you not wanting to push her over the edge by finding out more about the supernatural."

"I guess I just don't want her to think differently of me. I don't want her to be scared of me." He admitted, "We were happy just being Jake and Bella, but, it'll be different now."

"But, Bella knows about witches and vampires, I'm sure she would've done her research and know about werewolves and shapeshifters like yourself." Lilith reminded him, "I don't think she would be scared per se, so, why do you?"

"Because after the look she gave me when she saw me phased, it was enough to throw away any confidence I might have had to tell her about me." He recalled the look in her eye, it burned his mind and told him that was how she was going to view him from then on when she did know.

"If I had come in contact with an incredibly large wolf for the first time without any warning I probably would've pooped my pants as well, cut her some slack." Lilith lightly rolled her eyes, "She loves you, Jake. It doesn't matter what species you are because you're still Jake to her. You just gotta remember that." They would still be Bella and Jake at the end of the day, even if they had something slightly different to them compared to when they first started to date. People change and evolve all the time, this was no different.

Lilith had to sometimes tell herself that as well, even though she wasn't evolving for the better. But, she just had to hold out hope that maybe this was happening for a reason and maybe that reason would be a good thing.

"Yeah, it'll probably bite me in the ass for not telling her sooner, but, I'm not ready yet. It'll come eventually though." Jake joked slightly, absolutely dreading the conversation that was to come with Bella.

The conversation reminded her of something and she pulled out her phone. She mumbled a quick sorry to Jake, and typed in a number that she had now memorised from how many times she's had to dial it and placed her phone to her ear, giving a defeated sigh when the call went straight to voicemail.

Her number was blocked by Magda.

"You expecting a call from someone?" Jake asked, thinking she was trying to call Edward for whatever reason, most likely because their conversation reminded her of him.

"Yeah, I've been trying to figure out why my magic left and the person who was going to help me has now blocked my number and disappeared." Lilith said with frustration, "Hopefully this'll all be over soon though and it will all go back to normal."

Jake patted her shoulder, "You just gotta have faith, Lil." He told her. He didn't like what he was hearing and it didn't sound like it was going to change anytime soon considering what was happening, but, he figured it was just better to have a positive mindset about it regardless before it completely broke her.

Lilith no longer wanted to talk about the subject anymore. But, she was glad that she could finally get to bond with Jacob beyond him just being her best friend's boyfriend, it was slightly long overdue but it was better late than never. She just hoped that they would get passed their issues while they still had time unlike what she had with Edward.

"I don't want to sound rude... but, how much longer until we get to Sam's house?" The blonde changed the subject, "It feels like we've been walking for ages and I'm not fit one bit."

Jake laughed at her, "We've only been walking for fifteen minutes?" He said, his words coming out in a confused, questioning tone, "But, we should be there in less than five if we keep this pace up."

Lilith groaned, "I wish you gave me a warning about how far away it was. I would've brought better walking shoes."

Jacob only shrugged, "Well, now you know for next time." He told her and the blonde girl pouted at him but continued to follow after him in a comfortable silence.
