The sinking feeling in Lilith Bailey's stomach only continued to grow as time lead on. Days had passed and she had barely spoken to Edward since the fight and the distance had only made her more anxious—she wanted to talk to him and make things right, because if he wasn't there it wasn't going to be alright for her. Bella had noticed that the Cullens hadn't gone to school since that night and that Lilith looked quite depressed, but, even the blonde couldn't explain to her why they weren't there. The rest of her friends had just tried to distract her assuming that she was just having a little bit of relationship problems—which she was.

Bella could only look at Lilith with worry as she drove the witch home again, she had no issue of driving her—it was just strange since Edward always wanted to take care of her when it came to the little things, but, recently, he had been no where to be found leaving it up to Bella to pick up the slack. Lilith looked up when she pulled up to the front driveway of her home, noticing Edward standing there looking equally as saddened, "Are you going to be okay?" Bella asked her friend, "Do you want me to come with you?"

Lilith could only shake her head, "No, it's okay. You go home." She said getting out of the car and walking over towards Edward, "Hey, I didn't know we were going to hang out today." She said softly, trying to put on a brave face even though she was very much dreading thinking about the worst case scenarios again. Mainly because he and his family dropped off the face of the earth for two days after your fight that you feel this way, she thought to herself. She had hoped that everything she had been worrying about was just her mind going into overdrive and now they would finally get to talk it out and be fine again. Lilith also hoped that once they did talk it out that the constant sinking feeling in her stomach that she had gotten since the day of the fight would go away.

Edward ignored the comment in her mind, nodding his head towards the direction of the woods, "Let's go take a walk."

She only nodded and looked back at Bella who was in her truck, nodding at her that she was okay and she could go home—she didn't have to wait for her.

They began to walk and Lilith didn't miss how he didn't reach for her hand like he usually did and the girl had to try and keep up with him all while trying not to trip, a clear sign that he was still very much upset with her. He finally stopped and sighed, looking around before turning back to her, "I'm sorry about last night." Lilith said at the same time as Edward said, "We have to leave Forks."

"Why?" Lilith hesitantly asked, completely caught off guard.

"Our conversation the other day in class made me think about a lot of things and I realised I needed to get some things together. Your father managed to track down Victoria, and my family and I are going to get to her first before she can think about coming to you." He answered her. Her eyebrows furrowed, this wasn't what she was expecting at all. Was this what he was so snappy about? Because he needed to find Victoria faster?

"How long are you going to be gone for?"

"As long as it takes." He answered again. Lilith looked him over and he was still in the same clothes that he wore the last time they spoke which made Lilith wonder how long he really pondered over this decision, "It might even be a few years until we come back."

The witch bit her lip while she tried to hold back the tears as she rocked on her feet. Years, he said, "Why do I feel like it's going to be more than that?" She asked. Why did she feel like it was going to be more like never?

"Because I don't know how long it'll take before we catch her. Your father only gave us a starting point." He told her. He took a step towards her and held her face in her hand, "I'm sorry it has to be like this, but, we have to do it." She couldn't speak, she had been so blindsided by the fact that he was going to break up with her after one fight and he was using catching Victoria as an excuse to do so.

Edward pulled away and began to walk away from her, the girl snapping out of her shock and holding her arm up, using her magic to hold Edward in his spot so he couldn't leave, "I want to come with you." She mustered. "I can help—my parents can help if you don't want me throwing myself in the front of danger. Just don't leave me. You want to protect me? Fine. But, we all know I'm safest by your side, and if you leave, Victoria will come straight for me."

Edward knew that Lilith wouldn't just let him go with that reasoning, he just hoped that she would so he wouldn't have to resort with plan B. He had to make her hate him—that way she won't try to come after him, instead she would stay as far away as possible, "You want the truth, Lilith? The truth is, I don't want you to come." He told her, watching her hopeful face drop, "I don't want you."

"I don't believe that." She whispered, "After everything we've been through and after everything you've said to me, you can't just turn around one day and say something like that and expect me to believe it. Especially not after one little fight."

"How could I ever act so kindly and chummy with a witch that I now know is on the path of becoming a dark witch? I saw the look in your eye when we fought, and that wasn't my Lilith—it was someone completely different and I know that I can't be around you anymore." He scowled at her and Lilith felt the stabbing pain in her chest from his words, "It's practically suicide for my family and I to be around you knowing you could get us killed. We don't want someone like you in our lives."

Lilith couldn't help it, but, the tear fell down her face as she felt her heart truely break at his words. He had given up, and he was forcing her to give up also. Her mental barrier that was always down for him to look into her mind immediately went back up, which didn't go unnoticed to him as she also released him from her magic, "You hate me. Good." He realised, "This is the last time you'll ever see me again. I can go on with my life without any interference from you."

"This doesn't make any sense." She sobbed lightly feeling her heart ache, "I don't understand what I did or said to you to make you want to do this. Whatever it is that I've done wrong, I can fix it. I'll be better—I'll stop being pushy, I'll stop using my magic so it won't make me dark, whatever you want me to do, I'll do it. I promise. Just, don't go." Whatever she did to make it seem like she was becoming her worst fear, she will do anything she could to stay away from. For him.

"You're just not good for me." He told her, and he couldn't help but notice the look of betrayal on her face. He had hit the sweet spot that would finally get her to stop fighting. He knew she had taken harshly the second that he began calling her something she was not—a dark witch—but, he still saw some fight left in her, and unfortunately, now she did not. She had always expressed that she didn't want to be a dark witch; and that was why she didn't use her magic too much in case it would turn her into that, and Edward would always reassure her that she could never be, and he knows it must've extremely hurt when she heard that she was turning into something that horrible by someone she thought loved her. But, this was the only way for her to let him go.

"Not good for you." She repeated back to herself, maybe that way it would sink in and it would all make sense. But, at that moment, it wasn't.

"I'm just sorry I let this go on for so long." He continued and his words only made it worse, "But, my family and I can't continue to pretend like you won't get us killed by association or by you in general. You aren't worth the trouble."

"You said you loved me." Her eyebrows furrowed, "You don't do things like this to people you love."

But, he did love her, and that was why he had to do this, "Goodbye, Lilith." He said, giving her one final confusing kiss her head while she choked on her own sobs.

When she opened her eyes, he was gone once again. Just like that. Her legs beginning to move on their own as she cried in her own little world, looking at the tree lines that maybe it would be okay and she would get home and Edward would be there making it known to her that it was just some sick joke. Her mind tried to find situations and moments that would have been the final nail in the coffin that was their relationship besides that fight, but, she just couldn't find it. Her heart hurt thinking that she just wasn't good enough for him, just like Jessica had warned her all those months ago.

Looking for Victoria was most likely a lie also as he was probably just leaving her alone so the red head can tear her to shreds and he can be rid of her once and for all.

Don't think like that, she thought to herself.

She hadn't even noticed it was night time when she snapped out of her daze, looking around seeing that she was most definitely lost. The darkness making it extremely hard to see anything. She held her hand up to let a large bright light come from her hand, hoping it'll guide her back home.

She took a step when she suddenly felt a large searing pain spread across her chest, making her gasp and grab onto her chest, collapsing to her knees as she tried to fight off it while the tears just streamed down her face in agony. Was this what heartbreak felt like?

She couldn't hold it in anymore as finally let out a bloodcurdling scream causing the birds and the bats fly from their spots in the trees, her hands gripping into the soil as if it would keep her grounded and make her let go.

Her eyes watched as the greenery around her slowly started to brown, making her heart ache more, letting out a choking sob knowing she was the reasoning for killing the plants. She tried to make it stop, but, she simply couldn't. It just hurt too much to do anything.

The pain only started to simmer, not as harsh as it was moments ago but that didn't mean she couldn't still feel it there. It still ached—everything ached as she laid her head down on the ground and simply collapsed, looking up at the leaves from the trees and the stars above her before the world went black.

When Lilith opened her eyes, she was still delirious as she saw herself being carried but being too weakened to say anything; or fight them off; or to even care anymore. For all she knew it could've been Victoria carrying her to her death, but, in her mind she was already dead.

Meanwhile, Oliver and Sierra Bailey stood with Charlie and Bella Swan along with the Clearwaters and the Blacks trying to find Lilith. Bella hadn't heard anything from Lilith in a while and she made her way over to the Bailey's worried that something had happened only to find out that she hadn't come home either and the parents had thought she was with Bella still. Bella immediately called her dad and he called the rest of them, worried for the teenage girl who was most likely lost or could've been dead like the rest of the hikers in town.

"We'll find her, Oliver." Sierra reassured her husband as she placed a hand on his shoulder.

"I'd be able to find her if I can do a locator spell." Oliver murmured back to her, low enough for them not to hear what he had said, running his forehead to try and relieve the tension that was built by stress, "I'm going to try the Cullens' place again." He said as he pulled out his phone and dialling their home phone number.

"They left town, Oliver." Billy Black informed him as he had overheard what they were talking about.

"Good riddance." Harry Clearwater mumbled to himself.

"What? Why?" Oliver asked, slightly confused as to why their close friends would just up and leave town without a word or a goodbye.

"Yeah, where'd they go?" Charlie questioned, remembering Bella telling him how Lilith and Edward were together.

Bella chewed on her nails nervously as she looked up at Jacob, her face filled with worry for her friend. Jacob only could rub her back soothingly to try and calm her nerves. Surely Lilith didn't skip town with the Cullens and not tell her about it, or even her parents judging by their reaction. Even if she did, Bella thought they would be close enough to deserve a goodbye from her friend to let her know. But, Bella didn't believe she could do something like that, so, where was she?

Jacob then saw something in the corner of his eye and his head snapped towards it seeing Sam Uley walking towards them with an unconscious Lilith in his arms, "Charlie. Oliver." He called out and Oliver began to sprint towards his daughter while Bella covered her mouth gasping in relief.

"She's alright!" Sam announced to the rest of them while passing the blonde witch over towards her father. The man nodding at him appreciatively along with Harry Clearwater who then began to take Lilith inside, Bella following after them.

Sam then turned his attention to Jacob who only turned back and followed after his girlfriend.

Bella ran inside seeing Oliver place his daughter on the bed and beginning to cover her in the blankets, "She's freezing." He noticed and Bella went into the cupboards to try and find more blankets to layer on top to try warm her up.

The girl stirred at the noise, slowly opening her eyes and Bella gasped, going to her side, "Lilith, are you okay? What happened?" She said, brushing the blonde hair out of her face.

"He killed me." She whispered. The parents could only share worried looks between each other and then back at their daughter who most definitely looked dead inside.

And then that's when the screaming started.
