Over the next few weeks, the newlyweds got into a comfortable routine. They explored the new parts of the island daily, ate delicious food, did any other activities they could think of, laid around on the private beach so Lilith could get a small tan and then... well, exploring each other whenever they felt the urge to. They both had a small kick out of what Alice had packed for the both of them; Lilith eventually trying on the pieces that Alice had gotten for her to wear before eventually Edward decided that she needed proper clothing considering she couldn't wear lingerie everyday—much to his dismay, he knew they would never get anything else done if she did.

They had to go back to the main land one evening to get some more clothes for her due to their desperation from a couple of the night stalls, among some more dancing and drinking with the locals. Edward and Lilith had around two weeks left at Isle Esme before they would return back home to Forks, and they were rushing to finish exploring the entire island before they would return.

They were currently exploring another new part of the island, apparently Edward had heard running water coming from the direction they were currently going in during another hike; he had assumed that they may be a waterfall or even a river and they wanted to have a look at it before they left. However, Edward wanted to be a pain and keep running off to watch Lilith struggle as payback for her being cheeky with him the night before.

Lilith struggled to keep up with him—obviously as he was using his supernatural speed—panting from exhaustion as she continuously tried to move the branches and leaves out of her way before they smacked her in the face. She continued forward until she finally got to decently clear spot between all of the greenery, seeing her husband further in the distance, standing on a much higher ground. She made an unimpressed face as she realised she was going to have to try and catch up with him again and Edward turned to look over at her when he heard her nearby; when they made eye contact, he smirked and then sped off.

"Yep, just leave your mortal wife all alone in the jungle on your honeymoon with no idea where she is going." She grumbled to herself, blowing a piece of hair out of her face as her eyes scanned the area, trying to figure out where he could have went, "Great idea." She said sarcastically before gasping as she felt herself being picked up bridal style and carried.

She scowled at Edward when she noticed the proud grin he was sporting, "What did you say?" He asked her teasingly, "Because it sounded like you were complaining."

"I would never complain; I said you're the most amazing husband ever and I love you very much." She lied, wearing a fake smile.

The vampire hummed, "I'm sure that's what you said." He responded, "I'm not sure why you continue to suggest that we hike even though you hate exercise and I always have to end up carrying you back." Every time they went on hikes, Lilith would outdo herself and have to be carried back home by Edward because she got too tired—that or she was lazy and she just wanted him to carry him back.

Lilith shrugged as she wrapped her arms around his neck comfortably while he carried her, "Well, my view is usually very nice, and doesn't ditch me half way in the middle of a foreign jungle, which makes the exercise portion of it worth it." She stuck her tongue out at him and causing him to laugh.

"I wasn't ditching you, you just can't keep up." Edward mused.

Lilith rolled her eyes, "I can't wait for me to be a vampire and smoke you in races. It'll wipe that grin off your face so fast." She grumbled.

It was Edward's turn to roll his eyes at her this time, but didn't respond verbally as she continued to make his way towards what he assumed was a waterfall while Lilith watched the trees blur passed them in silence.

She was definitely going to miss this place and the peace it brought her and Edward when they returned to Forks. She would miss how free she and Edward could be around each other without having to worry about anyone else. But, she definitely missed her family a lot. She missed her parents, she missed the pack and she definitely missed the other Cullen family members too. She definitely has enjoyed herself while she was at Isle Esme and she was glad that she and Edward got to unwind after everything that has happened between them over the last few years.

Within a few minutes, Edward placed Lilith down on her feet on the top of the waterfall that he had been searching for and began to take off his clothing to get towards his swimming trunks while Lilith looked over the edge.

"You want to jump off of here?" Lilith looked over at him funnily. She wouldn't be able to jump as right below them was just rocks, the deep water that she was hoping to aim for was much further than she would ever be able to reach.

"You've jumped off of a cliff before, this isn't much different." Edward responded, watching as Lilith took off her shirt, "But, you won't be jumping, you'll be on my back while I jump for us."

"Perfect. That makes it much better." She hummed with a smile as she walked over towards her husband's back, patting his chest sarcastically as she climbed onto his back. She had no idea when it occurred to him that she was this adrenaline junkie—she definitely wasn't, and that one time that she jumped off a cliff was enough for her, "Don't miss." The rocks didn't exactly look comfortable to land on.

Edward chuckled at her sarcastic comment and clutched his hands tighter around the backs of her thighs in response, causing her to giggle as it tickled, feeling as she wrapped her arms tighter around him and tucked her face into his shoulder before he launched off the waterfall's top and landing in the river further down with a large splash.

The two rose from the water, Lilith letting out a small gasp for air and smoothed the blonde hair out of her face. She watched as Edward smirked and dove under the water again and reappeared further down the river with a smirk.

"Asshole." She scowled at him as she slowly swam over towards his direction.

Days later, Edward had left to go to the mainland to hunt to gather some strength and energy when Lilith got an idea for something for her to do. It was Edward's birthday coming up in a few days time and she wanted to celebrate. Edward had made sure she was always feeling special and celebrated on her birthdays and she felt she was falling short in that department. She wasn't really; she always gave him gifts and took him out on dates for his birthday, but, she wanted to go a little bit more above and beyond this year especially since it's the first birthday they'll be spending together as a married couple.

Lilith knew Edward wouldn't be gone for too long as he didn't want to leave her by herself for too long of a time in case something happened, but, it would still give her enough time to go ahead with whatever she had planned for him. She had noticed that he would never be gone for longer than an hour and a half to two hours at most, depending on how hungry he was and how long he had gone without feeding.

Sometimes she'd try and get him to not rush himself because she would be fine and all she would probably do is nap to catch up on sleep that she has missed due to reoccurring nightmares or nighttime activities, or lay on the beach while he was gone; she wouldn't try to do anything dangerous because all she wanted to do was relax and have fun while they were away. She has had enough of danger to last her a lifetime.

As soon as he left, she immediately started looking through the cupboards for what she needed and let out a happy screech when she had everything she needed and could make him a cake.

She realised that Edward wouldn't be able to eat it without having to make himself throw it up back up later so she made sure to keep it small sized and make it in the flavour that she was craving since she would have to eat it all by herself; that way she would have to throw out as little of the cake as possible—if there was anything to throw out in the first place.

It didn't take long for Lilith to brush up on her baking skills, having used to bake with her mother regularly on weekends during her childhood and thankfully having access to the internet to search up any steps that she felt she may have forgotten.

She preheated the oven and made the cake batter quite quickly and easily while she waited for it to heat up, taking a lick of the batter every now and again to taste, feeling strange now she no longer had her mother slapping her hands away whenever she reached to swipe the bowl before placing the cake tray into the hot oven.

While she waited for the cake to cook, she began to think deeply about how she was going to miss moments like that with her parents; all the little things that she remembered her parents doing when she was growing up would sadly only become a faint memory to her later on in the future. Things like baking together, practicing and learning magic, going on day drips, etc. were no longer things that were going to be able to be done with her parents.

She was quite upset that there was no possibility of her being able to pass down those traditions of doing those activities with her own children. While she was upset, she understood that it was a sacrifice she would have to make in order to be able to live her life and be with the person she loved most. She was sure in the future—if they were desperate enough to have a family of their own—that that Edward would agree to adopt a child. He was the type to love someone unconditionally, even if the child wasn't biologically his, as he was raised the same way by Carlisle after the death of his own parents.

Sometimes Lilith thought it was interesting how Alice and Jasper or Rosalie and Emmett never adopted a child of their own and start a family like she knew they wanted to, but, time and fate was always a funny thing and they might not of believed that it was the correct time to bring an innocent child into their world—among other reasons like Jasper's uncontrollable thirst and their struggle to find a way to calm it before someone got hurt.

But, she wondered what it would of been like with the Cullens if they each had their own children; she pictured how happy Rosalie would be to be able to be a mother and teach a child life lessons and protect them fiercely with Emmett by her side. Alice and Jasper either being the 'cool' aunt and uncle, or being the relaxed parents if they decided to adopt and look after a child.

The child would have been so spoiled with love and affection by each of their parents, and especially by their grandparents. She could picture how much time, effort and money Esme and Carlisle would spend towards that grandchild of theirs which made Lilith chuckle and shake her head at the thought. There was no doubt that that hypothetical child would be so loved and cherished by everyone in the family in their own ways.

The sound of the oven timer going off snapped her out of her daydream and returning her back to the real world where she was simply just baking a cake for her husband's birthday. She knew she was going to be happy with the life she had chosen for herself, and she had no worry that Edward wouldn't make her happy and he realised she was just getting into her head about things that wouldn't happen for years to come.

Lilith immediately went back to doing what she planned and started to whip up the icing for the cake while it cooled on the tray behind her, trying not to drool at the smell of freshly baked cake. She decided to make vanilla frosting despite the fact that she had created a chocolate cake, one of the reasons being that she had used up almost all of the cocoa powder for the actual batter—also chocolate frosting was always too rich and made her feel sick so she didn't like it that much in the first place so she wasn't too distraught at herself.

The witch remembered to wait a bit for the cake to cool down before spreading the icing on top from the amount of times she had placed on top immediately and the icing practically melted off of it and dripped around everywhere, creating a mess and deciding against doing that again as she wanted it to be somewhat presentable.

She searched through the drawers and cupboards for any sort of candle or sparkler she could find, shrugging lazily with acceptance when she found one singular birthday candle that had been left behind from something else; not caring too much as she wasn't expecting to find any more than that anyway before placing it in the middle of the cake.

She looked at her watch and seeing that she roughly had about half an hour left before Edward would return and quickly began to clean up the kitchen. She didn't want to leave it a mess for someone else to clean it up and she didn't like the look of a messy kitchen anyway so she didn't mind it much considering it would help her kill time before Edward would walk through the front door and she could finally eat the delicious cake she had made.

The sound of Edward's footsteps nearing the front of the home made Lilith's eyes widen at her appearance  as she didn't expect him to come back so soon and she had no time to clean herself up. She quickly shook her head before using her magic to straighten and clean up her clothes before quickly lighting the candle and skipping over towards her husband with the cake in her hands.

"Happy birthday!" Lilith exclaimed excitedly as soon as Edward walked through the door after hunting, causing him to freeze, "I know I'm a little early, but, I wanted to surprise you." Edward hadn't been expecting anything from Lilith for his birthday as he didn't exactly celebrate it anymore. After living through so many years being angry at the world, he didn't exactly see a reason to. But, things had changed now and he now had Lilith who made everything worth it; he couldn't believe that he would think that Lilith wouldn't do something to celebrate the day of his birth. Edward then raised his eyebrows at her and the cake wondering when she got the idea and the supplies to do it, she simply shrugged, "I made it while you were gone. Luckily we had the stuff to make it, but, we didn't have enough for a hundred and ten candles on the cake, so you'll have to suffice with the one—"

"It's perfect." Edward told her, "But, who's gonna eat all that cake?" He asked, pointing at the chocolate cake in her small hands.

"Well, I will, obviously." Lilith answered as she eyed it, her mouth practically watering at her work. She then jumped a little on the spot, "Now, blow the candles out—and don't forget to make a wish!" Edward gave her a look and she scoffed and rolled her eyes, "Humour me." She said and Edward chuckled and went to fake blow out the candle before Lilith blew it out for him. The witch then cheered before reaching up on her tippy toes to kiss him, "Happy birthday."

Edward then watched as Lilith placed the cake onto the kitchen island and cut herself a piece of it before taking a bite, closing her eyes and letting out a moan of delight from the taste, "I did so good." She complimented herself. She looked over at him, "Did you make a wish?"

"I've already got everything I could ever ask for." Edward answered her question and Lilith rolled her eyes at his cheesiness. Edward walked over behind her, cuddling her to his chest while she continued to eat, "Is this the only present I should expect or do you have a couple more surprises you want to keep from me?" He asked, pressing a kiss to her shoulder.

"There's definitely more, but, don't expect to see me pull an island out of my pocket as a gift anytime soon." Lilith responded, her mouth full of cake which made him chuckle at her and wipe off the crumbs from her cheek.

"Right, that won't happen until my second hundredth birthday." He joked and Lilith let out a snort.

"More like fifth hundred; I still need a couple extra hundred years to save." She shot back.

The witch then wrapped the cake in cling wrap before placing it underneath a cover so it wouldn't dry out before washing her hands and beginning to walk away, "Where are you going?" Edward asked her, watching as Lilith slowly turned around to face him with a smirk on her face.

"To give you your other birthday present." She answered him. She then nodded her head towards the bedroom when she noticed that Edward wasn't moving, "Are you coming?"

Edward suddenly realised what she meant and his confused expression turned into a suggestive smirk as he quickly ran towards her and grabbed her; causing her to squeal and giggle as he carried his wife towards their bedroom once again.
