Lilith Bailey sat in a hotel room in Phoenix with her parents, Alice and Jasper as they anticipated when they could go back. Oliver and Sierra had been focusing on a spell to try and track James themselves, but, it was proving itself hard when they had nothing to go off of to track him along with focusing on a spell to protect people's homes from uninvited guests like vampires and werewolves. Lilith could only sit in a ball on the couch as she tried to focus on anything but the situation at hand and hoping that Edward and the rest of the Cullens would come out safe. She was also scolding herself for not telling the boy that she loved him in case she would never get to do so again.

The sound of Alice gasping made Lilith snap her head over to her as she heard Jasper question, "What is it? What do you see?"

"The tracker, he just changed course." Alice explained, her face blank with glazed eyes as she played out the vision in front of her.

"Where will it take him, Alice?" Jasper asked as he reached for a pen and paper.

"Mirrors." Alice answered with a look confusion while Jasper placed the pen in her hand, "A room full of mirrors."

Alice began to draw on the piece of paper, "Edward said the visions weren't always certain." Lilith recalled.

"She sees the course people are on while they're on it." Jasper explained, "If they change their mind, the vision changes."

"So, the course that the tracker is on now is going to lead him to a ballet studio?" Sierra questioned as she pointed at the piece of paper.

"You know it?" Alice asked the older witch.

"We've been to Phoenix twice in our lives. Once when Lilith was a child and once again now when she was a teenager. Lilith used to take ballet lessons as a child to give her some normalcy. The school we sent her to had an arch just like that." Sierra answered, "She hated it so much that we had to pull her out after a few weeks." Sierra could always remember how much the small girl kicked and screamed and both her and Oliver had to drag her into the lessons and watch as she pouted the whole time, refusing to listen. She was always a stubborn child.

"Why would the tracker go to a place that Lilith went to as a child?" Jasper questioned, trying to piece together some clues and figure it out, while Lilith was shocked she had completely forgotten that memory.

Her phone then vibrated causing her to flinch as she pulled the phone out and instantly answered the call from Edward, "Edward, are you okay?" She rushed out.

"We lost the tracker." He explained to her, "The woman's still in the area. Rosalie and Esme are going to back to Forks to protect it."

"And where are you going?" She asked as she could hear that he was in a car, driving.

"I'm coming to get you. Then you and I are going to go somewhere alone while the others keep hunting." He answered her, "I'll do whatever it takes to make you safe again."

"I'm sure wherever you are, I'm safest by your side." She told him honestly.

"Good. I'll see you soon." Edward said and soon hung up the phone. The girl let out a sigh and rested her phone against her forehead, wishing she had just said the words to him again but chickened out.

Alice and Jasper went downstairs to the lobby to check out while Lilith packed her bag as fast as she could. She was almost done packing when her phone vibrated again and she pulled the phone out seeing that it was Bella calling her. She answered the phone, "I know you're mad at me for disappearing—"

"Lilith, where are you?" She heard Bella say. She sounded scared—no, terrified to be exact.

Lilith's eyebrows furrowed, "Bella, are you okay?" She asked.

"The Cullens aren't doing a very good job at protecting everyone it seems." James' voice was suddenly heard and Lilith's heart stopped as she looked at her parents with wide eyes, "It was just too easy for Victoria to snatch your friend right at your front door. I was prepared to wait for you, but, your friend just couldn't wait to show you these pictures she had found of you and her together as children at the same ballet school here, and it all worked out quite well."

She heard him hum while Bella begged him to leave her alone in the background noise, "Don't touch her!" She snapped, catching the attention of both of her parents who looked at their daughter who was clearly in distress.

"You can still save her." He told her, "But, you're gonna have to get away from your friends. Can you handle that?"

Lilith didn't hesitate as she responded, "Where should I meet you?" She said as her parents shook their heads at her, telling her to stop and not go.

"How about your old ballet studio?" He asked and Lilith could only think about how Alice's vision was going to come true, "And I'll know if you bring anyone along. Poor Bella would pay the price for that mistake."

James then hung up the phone and Lilith immediately went towards the front door, leaving all of her belongings behind her, "You can't go alone!" Her parents snapped at her.

"If I don't go do this, Bella could die. An innocent human will die, do you understand that?" She argued with them. She was terrified of what could happen, but she knew she couldn't let Bella die because of it, "That's what witches do, we protect innocent people—and that's what I'm going to do."

"But, monkey, that's not something you have to do." Oliver told her. She wasn't ready yet.

"I'm going to protect my friend." She said stubbornly, "And you aren't going to stop me." She said before closing the door behind her and sneaking out of the hotel room to the front and calling a taxi.

By the time Lilith got to the front of the ballet studio, it was dark. Her heart was beating out of her chest, and her breathing was all over the place. She was terrified and she was alone. But, she needed to save Bella who had no way of being able to protect herself like she could. She had switched off her phone just as she was leaving the hotel, she knew her parents wouldn't hesitate to blab to the Cullens that she had left and that Edward would've most likely blown up her phone with the amount of calls he would make to try and convince her to not go ahead with her plan. But, Bella was her friend and she was innocent in all of this.

She opened the doors of the ballet studio and walked in she looked around seeing no one besides Bella there all the way at the end of the studio in a ball as she sobbed, "Bella?" She questioned and ran all the way over to her.

Bella peeked up and let out a look of relief as she launched herself into Lilith's arms, "Thank God. We have to get out of here. I don't think he's human." She told her.

She then heard James' laugh and her head snapped towards the sound, seeing his reflection placed everywhere because of all the mirrors as she tried to spot the real James out of them all, "I love the part when they realise that we're not human." He chuckled, "It makes it all the more fun when they realise they can't escape."

"You've got me here, now let Bella go." She said sternly to James, "She isn't apart of this world."

"She is now." James pointed out, "And just because I know you're already going to be so much fun to play with. Let's make a little film of our time together."

All Lilith could think about was getting Bella out of there while she clung to her arm. If she was going to die tonight, that was fine. But Bella deserved to live.
Lilith turned to the brunette and said, "When I say run, you run as fast as you can and don't look back." She said quietly and James laughed at her again.

The vampire held out the video camera and opened it up, "And, action." He said and Lilith's lip curled as she held out her hands and James went flying back into the mirrors behind him, the sound of glass shattering as his back hit the glass and fell to the ground.

Lilith turned to Bella who's eyes were wide at what she had just saw and yelled at her, "Run!"

James snarled as he got back up, "Oh, I'm really gonna break Edward's little heart now." He threatened as he began to race towards her. Before he could get towards her again, Lilith threw him to the side again to get him away from her. She hoped that it would get him tired enough to give up, but, it seemed that it was only making him angrier and more determined than ever to get what he wanted.

Bella continued to run out the door and James smirked as he leaped in front of her and grabbed her by the neck, throwing her against the stone pillar, the girl groaning out in pain as she hit her head against the sharp corner. James began to walk towards her and Lilith placed the barrier in front of him so he couldn't take any more steps towards Bella. The vampire turned and looked back at her with a smirk, "You really would do anything to protect your friends." He realised, "But, would you die for them?"

Without a moment to anticipate his next move, James appeared in front of Lilith and knocked her to the side, making her hit her head on the ground. The barrier dropping around Bella instantly from the loss of focus and the room began to spin around her, no doubt from a concussion that was already showing its affects. James leaned down, smelling the blood that had come from her head and smirked, "I guess we're about to find out." He said holding the camera back up in front of her and grabbing onto her wrist and bit into it, causing her to scream out. James released the grip on her wrist and grinned, his teeth stained with her blood as he said, "Tell Edward how much this hurts."

Lilith could only let out a bloodcurdling scream from the pain of the venom spreading in her veins, she tried to use another spell but nothing seemed to work and James chuckled, "Looks like venom kills all of your witch powers." He realised, "This just got so much more fun. Tell him how much it hurts; tell him to avenge you."

"No!" Lilith managed to scream out.

"Tell him!" He roared at her and Bella ran at him to try and get him off her by using the pepper spray she had in her pockets given to her by Charlie. James roared out at her and pushed her down, he turned back to Lilith and said, "If you won't tell him, she will." He then placed his hand on Bella's leg and applied a certain amount of pressure to the bone causing it to crack loudly and make the brunette scream out in pain.

"Leave her alone!" Lilith said while gripping her wrist, hoping if she tried hard enough she would be able to try and use whatever magic she had left and her the venom out of her.

Not a moment later, James was pushed to the side and Lilith looked up seeing Edward crouched down in front of James. Edward looked at her but before he could run to her to try and help, James growled as he got up and pinned him against the wall. Bella crawled over towards Lilith and began to panic as her eyes rolled back into her head from the pain, trying to grip around her wrist. Bella had no idea what to do in the situation and she had no idea vampires and witches even existed until now—let alone how to save a witch from vampire venom.

"You're alone, cause you're faster than the others." James commented as he shoved Edward's head against the mirror, causing it to shatter from the impact, "But, not stronger."

"I'm strong enough to kill you." Edward growled as he shoved James' hand off of his throat and send a kick to his chest that made him go flying backwards into a smaller mirror and then into the wall behind it. Edward immediately was by Lilith and Bella's side, "I'm sorry." He told her as he tried to find a way to get the venom out of her.

She slapped his hands away from her as she continued to scream in pain, "Get Bella out of here!" She ordered.

Edward went to try and get the both of them out of there when James appeared behind him and grabbed him by the leg and threw him into the window up above, causing that one to shatter as he fell back down.
James walked back over towards the girls and he knelt down in front of Bella who tried to shove him away from them by using a shard of glass that was all around them, but, James grabbed it and shoved it right into her leg.

He gripped onto her wrist to try and bite her but Lilith conjured up the last little bit of magic she had left and sent James back towards Edward and away from Bella, slumping straight back to the floor as her eyes rolled back into her head. Edward grabbed James and tackled him into ground, causing the floorboards to break as they slid across the studio. He grabbed him by the jacket and roared in his face as James did so also—his face filled with fury for hurting Lilith, the sound of her screams fuelling him to do whatever he needed to to end this and help her.

Edward threw him again and James landed on his feet and used one of the walls to bounce back towards Edward who met him halfway and tackled him again, pinning him against the mirrored pillar, the two of them growling at each other before Edward ripped into his neck and tore from it with his teeth spitting it out while he yelled out.

Edward went in again when he felt a hand on his shoulder, seeing Carlisle standing there while the rest of his siblings and Lilith's parents entering the studio also, "Son. Enough." Carlisle said as Alice and her parents ran to her side, "Remember who you are."

"Lilith, it's okay." Alice said to her as she tried to hold down her hands that kept jolting and jerking.

"We need to get the venom out of her, it won't be very long until she turns." Oliver said to Alice as he noticed the bite mark on her wrist.

"She's been trying to get it out, but, she can't; the venom is apparently killing any power she has." Bella informed the girls parents as she tried to move closer to her friend but groaning out because of her leg.

"You're hurt." Alice realised, trying to ignore the sweet smell of her blood.

Bella opened her mouth to respond but was interrupted by a loud scream from Lilith again, "Lilith needs more help than I do." She shook her head.

The sound made Edward flinch, the look on his face was one of pure anguish as he was torn between helping the girl he loved and killing the reason she was in pain, "Lilith needs you." Carlisle told his son, "Your brothers will take care of him."

"It's okay." Oliver repeated, "You're okay, Lil."

Edward was immediately by Lilith's side along with Carlisle as Emmett and Jasper moved James away from him, "I got him!" Emmett yelled out as they dragged him away, "Start a fire. Get the floorboards!" He ordered.

Jasper let go of James to begin to rip up the floorboards, and the nomad tried to get out of Emmett's grip to run towards Bella and Lilith but Oliver reached his hands up and made him frozen. Sierra looked at her husband, "Go help them." She said as she tried to help Bella. Oliver immediately ran over and began to help Emmett and Jasper with James.

"Carlisle!" Alice yelled again grab his attention, struggling to hold back the temptation of Bella's blood.

"Alice, go." Carlisle ordered her and she ran over towards the paralysed James, jumping up onto his shoulders and twisting at his neck causing it to snap off while Oliver started the fire behind him.

"Bella's femoral artery's been severed. She's losing too much blood." Sierra stated as she took her belt off and wrapped it around Bella's leg as a tourniquet to try and stop the bleeding.

Lilith let out another scream, thrashing to try and grip onto her wrist but Carlisle held her down as Edward looked at the bite mark, "The venom is burning her." He croaked. His heart hurt not knowing what to do or how to make it better.

"You have to make a choice." Carlisle told his son, "You could let the change happen."

"No." Both Edward and Sierra said at the same time. Edward didn't want this life for her, he didn't want her to curse her to a life like he had. He wanted it to be her choice if she really wanted it.

"It's gonna happen. I've seen it." Alice said as she joined them again remembering the vision she had earlier of both Edward and Lilith running in a blossoming field of flowers at an inhuman speed.

"It doesn't have to be that way. She wouldn't want this." Edward refused, shaking his head as Lilith gasped out, "Carlisle, what's my other option?" Alice turned to help Sierra with Bella, but, Carlisle grabbed her to tell her to go help the others with James. By that point, the fire was tall and the others were struggling to finally finish it, "Carlisle!" Edward snapped again, knowing their time was running out and he couldn't bare the thought of her turning to be like him.

"You could try and suck the venom out." Carlisle suggested.

"What if I'm not able to stop?" Edward questioned. He almost didn't resist the temptation to drink her blood the first time they met, so he had no idea what the reaction would be if he were to actually be able to taste it.

"If you truly cared about her then you would do whatever it takes to find the will and stop." Sierra told him as she tried to wake Bella up who had fainted from the blood loss, "But, you need to hurry, she only has minutes left."

Edward looked at Lilith whose eyes were watering as she gasped and grunted in pain, continuing to thrash around, "I'm gonna make it go away." Edward told her comfortingly, but Lilith only continued to scream, "I'm gonna make it go away, I promise."

Edward then lifted her wrist into his mouth, biting into the same spot that James did and sucking the tainted blood, her screams dying down as her eyes rolled around, spotting the Cullens and her parents around her burn James before the world went black.
