Little by little, several members of several different covens from all around the world made their way to Forks with the intention of meeting little Diana Cullen. With each meeting, the youngest Cullen won the hearts of every vampire she met. No one had heard of anyone like her and once they heard the Cullens' story about her, they felt a mixed amount of emotions of fear, curiosity and amazement. But, it didn't even come close to what they felt when it came time for them to actually met her. Each of them were won over and each of them were made to see, every single time left with a look of pure wonder once meeting her, and Diana gaining a small amount of happiness with the addition of a new friend.
Shortly after Lilith and Edward returned from Alaska, Carlisle and Esme returned from Egypt with Benjamin, Amun, Tia and Kebi before they jetted off to bring back more witnesses from around the globe. From what Lilith could retain, Benjamin was confident and careless at the same time. He seemed that he had a good attitude as well as a clear sense of right and wrong, He seemed to also be generous and caring to those around him as he took the time to try and entertain Diana by using his gift of elemental manipulation and created a mini tornado in the palm of her hand. And from what she had been told by Carlisle, he had lived a slightly difficult life and Amun—his creator—only seemed to make it more difficult by attempting to use him as a weapon against the Volturi due to his ability. But, despite that, Benjamin still cares and loves Amun and his mate like family.
Then came Senna and Zafrina from the Amazon, the pair had made quite the entrance to the Cullen home by causing the animals in the forest behind them to cry out as the two made their way closer towards them. The pair were reserved and guarded, but they were strong and powerful also. Lilith didn't hesitate to introduce the two Amazonian vampires to Diana the moment she looked into Zafrina's eyes, seeing that she was no threat.
They almost immediately dropped their intense guard once they began to speak to Diana, greeting her like she was a normal child and smiling at her graciously and the three of them oddly got along very well, the toddler yearning to try and play with them as much as possible; maybe due to Zafrina's very intriguing gift. With the arrival of Senna and Zafrina, it meant that the Cullens' plea was being heard in even the most remote corners of the world, and Lilith was still deciding on whether it was amazing or terrifying that it was.
Next came the Cullens' most unlikely ally in the form of Garrett—a patriot Carlisle first met on the battlefield of Yorktown—brought in by Rosalie and Emmett.
Carlisle had also convinced his Irish friends to help, and although everyone was grateful for their help, their thirst for human blood complicated the situation which made it impossible for Bella to come and be around the Cullens whenever they were there. No one blamed them for not taking to the vegetarian diet like the Cullens and the Denalis, it was their nature to drink human blood—but it was hard to coordinate the amount of vampires with the treaty with the wolves and the family's friendships with certain humans. They had agreed to not hunt in the area, but Lilith and the packs were still worried about slip ups as they were bound to happen with that many vampires that still drank human blood in such a small town—and they had to feed somewhere otherwise they would starve.
It was especially complicated with the nomads that Rosalie and Emmett had brought in who were even more unpredictable—as well as Peter, who Alice and Jasper had called. Peter was a dear friend of Jasper's, he had explained to the family that he had fought alongside Jasper as a newborn and they had kept in contact with each other ever since, the two constantly being around each other since his arrival to Forks like they hadn't had several decades apart.
And due to the large surplus of vampires stepping foot in their territory, more Quileutes turned—their nature compelling them to join the pack—and it made Jake and Sam busier so they could help them and train them to fight. Lilith felt so guilty that those teen boys were being asked to fight in a possible war that they were not ready for whatsoever and for someone they haven't even met yet. However they understood that it wasn't just for Lilith and Diana that they were fighting for; as a threat from the Volturi meant a threat for them too.
Eventually, Carlisle and Esme returned with another and a final friend of theirs—Alistair. He wasn't much of a people person and immediately came off as stand-offish; bitter because Carlisle would have dragged him into centuries on the run from the Volturi if their situation turned into a fight. He didn't want a fight, and neither did any of the Cullens. Even though they were vampires, fighting wasn't in their nature and it went against their moral compass which was always what made Lilith feel so safe around them as a human.
After the return of Carlisle and Esme, the Cullen home had been opened to eighteen vampires; many with gifts of their own.
The most intriguing was Zafrina. She had power over the mind and could make anyone see what she wanted them to, having made Lilith and Edward see themselves standing in the middle of a rainforest while actually just being at the front of their home.
Most of the vampires were happy to show each other what their gifts were and all were equally intrigued with each other's gifts as some were extremely powerful and unheard of. Lilith was quite content with her shield gift. She felt happy and secure that she could use her gift to protect herself and the people she loved when the time came but it was so intriguing to see gifts like vision projection, elemental control and electrokinesis.
After Zafrina had showed Lilith and Edward her gift, Lilith showed hers by creating a dome like shield over them, both Senna and Zafrina looking at it with a look of impression and commenting how it would be useful if their confrontation with the Volturi turned into a fight.
Especially against gifts like Alec and Jane's, Lilith's gift was quite necessary and useful considering they could make someone fall to their knees in pain with a single look or deprive one of their senses.
Eleazar came walking over during their interaction, making Lilith drop the shield and wave at him as a greeting, "You didn't tell us your wife could mimic, Edward."
"What?" Both Edward and Lilith questioned him, considering Lilith's gift was being a shield and neither of them knew what a mimic was.
"I've been observing you for a while because there was something that I couldn't quite put my finger on when it came to your gift." Eleazar began to explain, "For a while I thought you just had several gifts which is unheard of, but after watching you interact with the other clans, I finally figured it out." After having discussions and watching the other vampires use their gifts, he could see something change in Lilith's gift as if it was evolving until he finally figured out that she was gaining the ability to mimic their gifts; and gaining a new gift with ever vampire she met, "You have the ability to mimic someone else's power and act as if it were your own." Eleazar finally explained and Lilith's jaw slightly dropped. "You have a very powerful gift—one that is quite rare, might I say."
"Please stay away from Benjamin's gift then, we just bought you the car, I don't want it set on fire." Carlisle joked and Esme gave him a slight tap on the arm.
"Told you that you were powerful." Lorelei smirked—the witch had become more relaxed with the arrival of the vampire clans as it meant she wouldn't have to worry about an intruder coming to try and take Diana, since no one in their right mind would try and come into a den of powerful vampires to take a child, so it meant she could be a little more carefree.
Lilith quickly shook her head, trying to wrap it around what was happening, "But, what about my shield ability and how would this gift stem from my human life?" Lilith questioned. She hadn't met anyone with the ability to create shields so it didn't make sense for her to be able to mimic it from someone else, and it wouldn't make sense for her to have two gifts either.
"I believe the shield generation could stem from your ability of being a witch and how you would create them a lot." Carlisle suggested, "And maybe it's mimicking power in general, not just from vampire gifts. After all, gifts can always be progressed."
Lilith looked at Edward and then back at the ground so she could try to process the new information she received. That final puzzle piece fitting in place and answering multiple questions that had been left unanswered in her mind.
She always had left certain situations up to coincidence; but now that she had all of the information it was all starting to make sense. She always did wonder how she was able to soothe Diana so quickly and make her happy—or how she accidentally scared her too much—or how she was able to hear snippets of people's thoughts, or even see into the future or the past from images. And now that all of that had been answered due to her being able to mimic Edward, Jasper and Alice's gifts; a new one was created: why her? What made her so special that she had to have this extremely powerful and somewhat dangerously threatening gift?
Edward grabbed onto Lilith's hand and squeezed into it, catching onto her thought process and trying to distract her from it before it got too self degrading when it was meant to be a special and proud moment for everyone.
"I'm going to assume that you didn't know." Eleazar winced and Lilith gave a weak smile in response. If she didn't know, then Eleazar was glad that he was able to see it with his own power and let them know before someone else manipulated her and her gift for their own selfish gain.
The sudden sound of running made the groups' heads snap in the direction of the source, hearing the following sounds of growls and barks coming from Jacob and his new pack mates.
Lilith and Edward immediately took off towards them with Eleazar and the Denalis in tow, their mini revelation suddenly forgotten as they were terrified that whoever the pack was chasing wasn't an ally and they were in danger.
They stopped when they saw Jake and his pack staring down two vampires—one with white-blonde hair and one with dark hair—who were currently sitting up on some rocks; high enough so Jake couldn't reach them; smirking down at the wolves.
"Vladimir, Stefan..." Carlisle greeted, recognising the two almost instantly from his days with the Volturi. "You're a long way from home."
"What are they doing here?" Kate questioned, recognising them also from their reputation within the vampire world.
Vladimir and Stefan were the founding members of the once very powerful Romanian coven—the enemy coven to the Volturi—before it was dismantled by them in a century-long battle. Ever since the loss of Stefan's mate, their main focus became waiting for the opportunity to cause the destruction of the Volturi as revenge for their own coven.
"We heard the Volturi were moving against you." Vladimir answered Kate's question, his voice heavy with a thick Romanian accent. "But that you would not stand alone."
"We didn't do what we were accused of." Carlisle defended, knowing that the Volturi would of spread some sort of influence saying that the Cullens had created an immortal child in hopes of turning people against their cause.
"We do not care what you did, Carlisle." Vladimir rolled his eyes in response.
"We have been waiting a millennium for the Italian scum to be challenged." Stefan added with a large grin on his face.
"It's not our plan to fight the Volturi." Carlisle disagreed, hoping that the rumour of them gaining witnesses did not come across as them building an army to challenge the Volturi.
"Shame." Vladimir commented, leaning to look at his coven mate as he said, "Aro's witnesses will be so disappointed."
"They enjoy at good fight." Stefan acknowledged.
Eleazar stepped forward, "Aro's witnesses?" He questioned both Carlisle and the Romanian coven, while Lilith and Edward were also intrigued as to what they meant by that.
"Aww. Still hoping they'll listen?" Vladimir pouted.

That afternoon, Lilith was cleaning up her home from all of the toys that Diana had been playing with earlier, trying to take her mind off of the revelation of her gift when she caught a scent she didn't expect to smell ever again—and it was getting closer with every passing second before there was a knock at the door.
She thought it over for a moment on whether or not she should open the door or to leave them outside before curiosity got the best of her and she opened it; immediately placing up a shield in front of the doorway once she saw the familiar face that belonged to Oliver Bailey.
"I'm not here to hurt you." Oliver immediately said, trying to defend himself so she would drop her guard around him a little and not attack him when it wasn't his intent to harm here.
"It's not there for me." Her eyes hardened as she looked at the man who she no longer saw as her father. "Now what do you want? Because you have at least five minutes before people realise that you're here and they knock your head off—that is if I don't do it first."
"I'm here to help—" The newborn couldn't help but laugh, interrupting Oliver's words at how ridiculous it sounded that he wanted to help her after he almost ruined her life. "I'm being serious. I heard from people that the Volturi were coming after you and Diana and I want to stop that."
"And how are you going to help?" She spat. "Because in case you didn't realise, you don't exactly have magic anymore." Without his magic, he was just a human and that was deemed useless against the Volturi who were strong vampires with powerful gifts.
"I have friends all around the world who would be willing to help. Witches, vampires, wolves; anyone with any supernatural ability." He suggested. While he didn't have anything to help, he knew people who could help and that owed him from when he helped them back in the day.
"And how am I supposed to trust that these people are there to help me, and not take my child from me for her abilities after you struck a deal with them over her life?" Lilith crossed her arms, still not believing a word he was saying to her and holding back the urge to not throw him around the forrest with her newly gained strength.
Oliver sighed, "Look, I understand that you don't trust me because of what has happened and what we did, but, you need to believe that I want to help you and I never wanted to do any of that to you."
"Then who's idea was it?" She asked sarcastically, wondering who's poor soul was about to be thrown under the bus by him so he didn't have to take the blame.
"Your mother's. It started off innocent, we truly wanted a child, but once we figured out that the high priest gave you some of his power, she got power hungry and obsessed with the thought of being able to overthrow him using you." He began to explain, "I tried to prolong her plans as much as I could and stop you from turning dark or getting lost into your power. I tried to put as much distance between you and the high priest so your mother didn't make you do something you were not destined to do, but, I lost control once you met Edward."
Once she met Edward, she was more careless with her magic usage and it made easier for Sierra to lure the high priest. Things got messy; so many wires were crossed as no one was working as a team and they were on different sides that the outcome Oliver was trying to prevent eventually ended up happening.
If anything, the outcome ended up worse when he noticed that Lilith began to see the high priest as a father figure instead of someone she should avoid. It hurt seeing the love and appreciation that she felt towards him as a father direct itself towards the high priest—but, then again, he was there for her in times of need while she felt like she could no longer trust her own father because of his past doings and jealousy did get the best of him when he noticed it.
"I'm sorry, but, after everything that has happened and all of the lies that I have been told by the both of you, I no longer trust a word you say." Lilith told him with a hint of regret in her tone, hating how things have gotten between them since they first moved to Forks, "Even if you sincerely do want to help. I just can't trust you anymore. Especially not when it comes to my daughter."
She wanted to believe her father was being truthful and sincere about wanting to help her and her daughter; but the risk was too high and there had been so many lies told to her previously that she felt she would be naive and too forgiving if she believed this one, because it wouldn't just affect her this time, it would affect Diana if it blew up in her face. She had to think about Diana's safety first, even if it was crushing Lilith's soul piece by piece to not run into the arms of her father, Diana's safety came first, always.
Oliver and Lilith had always been close, the father-daughter bond they had created was something truely special in her eyes and it hurt a lot to see that it was simply just a facade. Him being there begging for forgiveness did give her hope that maybe one day they could mend their relationship, but, it simply wasn't in the cards for that day.
Oliver's face dropped once the realisation settled in that he wasn't going to get what he wanted and he sighed, Lilith taking that as the opportunity to end the conversation and moved to close the door, Oliver holding it open with his hand to say one last thing, "I know it didn't seem like it, but, I really did love you. I never wanted any of this to happen to you... I just wanted a daughter."
There was a small part of Lilith that could see this to be true, but it didn't outweigh all of the horrible things that they had done to the child they wanted and were supposed to love. "I know." She whispered at him before gently closing the door behind her and going back to her previous tasks, hoping that he would be able to get out undetected.
