Two days had passed, and the friend group had explored practically all of New York, and they were officially bored and calling it quits. New York wasn't a horrible and or miserable place to live/visit, but the excitement of them knowing that they'd be going back to LA to visit their best friends and their childhood home was a joy that they couldn't explain. So even though Matt planned to pay for their tickets, Sofia wanted to surprise them and arrive a day early.

She ordered the tickets and the friend group immediately started packing up their things, they said goodbye to their view, and amazing Airbnb and doing one last activity before making their way to the airport. 

The five walked down the streets of New York since they still had some time to kill, they ate, shopped around a bit, and took lots of pictures and videos. The five currently walked to a food stand and ordered some churros as Brooke complained, "I'm bored!" she groaned, Khai nodding in agreement, "I know, you've said 1,000 times already," Sofia glared at her sister, before looking for her headphones and putting them on to block out their voices.

She sat on a bench in silence as she ate her churro, humming to the music that rang through her ears until she got a text from Nick. She clicked on his contact name and started texting him.

The group rushed to the airport, arriving just in time for their flight. As soon as they boarded, they sat down and waited till they took off, it took a few minutes, but they eventually did. Brooke, of course immediately fell asleep, meanwhile, Khai and Nate talked in their seats trying their best to suppress their laughter, Mason sat next to Sofia and silently watched a movie meanwhile Sofia read a book in silence.

But her attention was soon drawn to Mason as he slowly drooped his head onto her shoulder, he took her by surprise, but she allowed him to sleep eventually putting her book off to the side and deciding to get some rest in order to have energy, which wasn't likely, but she wanted to try. 

She didn't want to be the moody girl in the corner, she wanted to have energy like Brooklyn did when she was having fun. For some reason the older brunette could never find herself having much energy no matter how much fun she was having, she still managed to be exhausted both physically and mentally, she hoped this nap would boost her energy even by a little bit.

Sofia woke up soon after to hear Nate and Khai giggling like little girls in their seats, she tried her best to ignore them, but her sleepy state soon wore off and she was officially wide awake. She went back to her book and listened to music as well. 

Before they knew it the flight was over, and they were finally in LA. They got their suitcases and got some food, well Starbucks because Sofia needed coffee in her system, she already knew the jetlag would kick in soon. They called an Uber and made they're to Sofia, Brooke, and Khai's childhood home.

"I can't wait to finally see this place, you guys talk about it like it's this big mansion or something," Nate said, it was true the four had always spoken highly of the house, they had such good times there, some were bad and hard to think or talk about, but the good memories were strong and always spoken highly of. 

"We always had so much fun there," Khai spoke, his tone was filled with excitement as he thought of his favorite memories that the four had shared, "I think you will too," Sofia told Nate, everyone that sat in the car, minus the Uber driver, always considered the place good luck and Sofia hoped the house still had the same feeling it did when she was a kid, she hadn't been there since she graduated from high school, it was crazy how she moved on from the house, but she was glad that her father didn't sell it yet.

She wanted to visit one last time before it was gone to someone else forever.

The house was her mother's dream house and being there made Sofia and the others feel closer to her as soon as they stepped foot inside. "This is your house?" Nate questioned, his tone filled with shock, the house was a lot bigger than he expected but they grew up in La, so it wasn't surprising. "Yup, this was my mom's dream house," Sofia replied with a sad sigh, "Well, let's get inside, shall we?" 

Sofia tried her best to cheer herself up, but it was hard. Her mom was gone and now she was in the house that her mother dreamed she could one day have, and when she did get it, she sadly passed away a few years later. 

Sofia and her siblings had moved to the house when she was just six years old which was how she met Brooke and Khai. Every day her mother fawned over her dream house until she couldn't, no matter how she was feeling, mad, sad, whatever, she had her kids, husband, and her house and that was all she needed.

Sofia walked inside with her friends trailing behind her and began admiring her home, showing Nate around as well, she admired everything, every picture, every chair, everything. She wished that her mother was still alive, she knew visiting home would hurt her and it did, but it hurt even more not having her family with her, especially her mother.

She wasn't the type to talk about her mother's death, or her how she was feeling but being inside the house and seeing old pictures hanging of her and mother on the wall made her want to cry but she pulled herself together and held back her tears, saving them for some other time. 

"Home sweet home," Sofia sighed to herself. 

She had a minute to herself and she saw a picture of her and her mom sitting on the kitchen counter, she gently picked it up and walked over to the island, "It really does feel nice to be home," Brooke breathed out from behind her, nodding in agreement Sofia replied "I miss her," Sofia told her best friend as she dropped down onto the island chair, "Me too," Brooke told her placing her hand on her shoulder.

"And I wish she was still here," Sofia wasn't the type to be sad and depressing but she was feeling a strong wave of sadness the second she stepped inside the house, "We all do," Brooke nodded with a sad sigh, "If you ever want to talk about it... or anything," Brooke started but Sofia already knew what she was going to say, "I know, you're here from if I ever need you," 

The taller brunette left the short but older brunette to think or just sit in silence, she knew Sofia needed some time for herself and with the way her friends were she rarely had it. Sofia roamed her childhood home admiring pictures, as she slowly made her way to her childhood room to see Mason lying on her bed, passed out. "Still looks the same," she sighed, she would've thought her mom or dad would've gotten rid of everything and made it into a guest room but they didn't.

They told her that they didn't a long time ago, but she didn't believe it until she actually saw it. Sofia's room was a simple room, there was a dresser straight across from her bed with a tv on it, two windows beside her bed that stood in the middle of the room pressed against the wall. There wasn't much decor other than a few pictures, she didn't want to over decorate, she knew as child hat one day she'd have to take it all down and even though it was decorated a lot when she was younger as she got older, she sold some stuff.

She wanted to continue to roam around but she had seen every room, admired every picture, she had nothing to do other than to either sit down and watch tv, scroll on her phone, text her friends, or take a nap, and she obviously decided on taking a nap.
