roman montgomery & julia capeland were respected members of their high schools drama club. tensions rise within the club when the group  is tasked with putting on the end of school year production; romeo & juliet. the group are unable decide on their depiction, each side seeing the play as having a different meaning. one half of the drama club thinks the play is a cautionary tale about the recklessness of youth whereas the other firmly believes it is about how love can conquer even the strongest of hates. the situation grows dire as rehearsal begins, when on-cue kisses and fake declarations of love aren't so fake anymore. . .

⤷ if you're looking for a plot twist, you could pull a robin buckley and reveal that either roman or julia aren't interested in that gender.
⤷ if not, this would have to be a slow burn as julia and roman would be unwilling to work together, convinced the other doesn't understand the play in the way they should.

this was loosely based off of a tumblr headcanon that i adapted because i liked it :)
i know i haven't put many notes on this and that's because i feel this should be a very open plot, it's the kind of plot that needs an authors quirks, not set details. i hope someone takes this and improves that trashy description.
