CHAPTER TWO - Party
CHAPTER TWO
[ season five, episode thirteen ]
ABI AND CARL left the house a little later. Carl had spoken about how much fun it was playing video games again, he wasn't the best at first but Mikey and Ron were cool. Abi couldn't say she had the same experience. She just sat there in silence, reading a boring comic book, next to a really intimidating girl.
That night, everyone slept in the same house again. Abi had told Maggie how she was staying with the Grimes when they would separate to different houses.
She had woken up that morning and headed to her room. The same purple bed was there as she walked over to the dresser. Jessie and Olivia had brought over some clothes for Carl and Abi.
She searched through the dress frantically, soon deciding on a black long-sleeve, light blue baggy jeans and a red flannel. Abi bent down, struggling with her red converse before she finally tied her laces. She sat in the living room of one of the houses as she waited for Carl. Sudden movement from the window caught the blondes attention. She looked outside a window to see Enid, the girl from before. She wasn't sure what the girl was doing. She had a large back pack on. Enid walked out of view from that window and into another one. The girl got out some sort of pole and walked towards the walls.
Abi moved closer to the endow and watched as Enid began climbing the tall, rusty walls. Just as Enid went over the top a sudden sound came from behind her.
"Hey, are you okay?" Carl questioned, brows furrowing when he saw she was watching the window
Abi immediately turned around in shock, jaw open a little as she didn't want to explain the fact she was stalking the only other teenage girl in Alexandria. "Um- yeah."
"What were you looking at?" Carl asked moving towards the window.
"It's not a- you know that girl, from earlier?" Abi asked, giving up on defending herself mid sentence.
"The one from Ron's house? Eden?" Carl replied failing to remember the girl's name.
Abi laughed a little, "Enid. She was going over the walls." Carls eyes widened at her statements.
"You are not following her," Carl said sternly. "I never said I was going to," Abi retorted.
"You were thinking it," Carl said crossing his arms. "Come on, aren't you a little curious?"
Carl looked down in thought before giving in, "Let me get my knife."

THE TWO TEENS scattered through the forest as they had finally caught up with the brunette girl. Both of them with knives in hand watched as she made her way through the woods.
They hid behind a tree, Abi peering over Carls head. Abi took in the outside for a moment. It was weird, knowing she wasn't being forced to be out here. Enid suddenly stopped at the sound of metal clanging. She looked around before running off.
Carl and Abi immediately stood up and began trying to 'quietly' chase after her. Abi knew it wasn't working. They both came to a stop when they realised they had lost her.
"Shit," Abi muttered.
They began walking through the woods more, hoping they might find the girl.
They came across a small cabin where they were met with Rick Grimes. The sounds of walkers came from behind him as he looked disappointingly at the two kids before turning around. Carl and Abi brought their knives out from their waist bands, ready to kill the walkers.
"Get ready," Rick whispered as he eyed the two teenagers, still curious on why and how they were both outside the walls.
Three of the dead came directly towards the three living people, Abi stood tall as the familiar creature stalked towards her. It's under eyes hung loose, the wrinkles showing old age of not growing up—but time. He had a slight limp to his open leg, showing he must've died from some kind of infection. The metallic blade of her knife raised, aiming directly between it's sunken eyes as the walker reached its flimsy arm towards her, Abi putting a stop to its movements with one single slam. Carl and Rick copied her actions, only one walker left as it made its way towards the eldest grimes.
Rick grabbed his machete, ready to end its life before something grabbed his foot, another walker clawing it's teeth towards him. Carl and Rick immediately slammed their weapons into its head, all three breathing heavily. Rick picked up a pole to kill the one on the floor but Carl was quick to stop him. "Dad," he gestured for his dad to give it to him in which he did.
Abi watched as Carl drove the pole in to the walkers skull. He threw the pole on the ground as the three made their way back.

SOON ENOUGH, the trio had made their way back to Alexandria where Abi caught site of a Glenn punching a man as Daryl fell on top of another, who she recognised to be Nicholas. She instantly sprinted over, Carl and Rick following in suite as they joined all of the chaos.
Deanna walked closer, everyone calming down as she yelled, "I want everyone to hear me, okay. Rick and his people are part of this community now, in all ways, as equals. Understood?"
"Understood," the man Glenn fought nodded, glaring at the Rhee man as Abi picked with the sleeves of her flannel, both confused and nervous.
"All of you turn in your weapons," Abi sighed at this. The woman muttered something to the people beside her. They talked some more.
Abi went to start walking away when she caught a glimpse of the girl standing not to far beside her.
They locked eyes. Abi sighed as she said, "You don't like me, do you?" Enid looked down before walking away.
Abi was not having new friends anytime soon.
✵~✵
"GLENN?" Abi's voice sounded as she reached the bedroom, cracking the door slightly as she saw the man with his head in his hands. Glenn immediately looked up, eye curiously watching the girl.
"Maggie wanted me to come check on you." Glenn nodded. "What happened out there?" She asked, sympathy draining in her voice as Glenn sighed. He gestured for her to sit beside him, Abi immediately following his orders as she placed her hand so her lap, only being able to see the right side of his face.
"The way people run things here, it's just not right." Glenn started, Abi growing confused since Glenn was one of the most hopeful people she had ever met—aside from her father, Carl and Beth. "Today, Tara was almost killed because of Aidan. They hung up a walker because it killed their friends."
Abi's body relaxed, happy that nobody was actually killed, also glad to finally know what had happened.
"I've seen it. These people, their games and radios. They ain't gonna make it very long." The blonde started, Glenn now focusing on her. "Just like at the farm, it's false hope. wishing something was there when it's not."
Soon a comfortable silence joined them, a rare occasion for Abi. She felt her head dropping, soon meeting his shoulder as Glenn cuddled her closer. "You've still got us. You'll always have us," Glenn added. "Me, Maggie, Rick and Carl. We're your family."
Abi looked up at him, smiling as she leaned back into his shoulder. False hope was something Abi hated, but when it came to her family, she'd do anything. Even believe they would always be her family.

LATER THAT EVENING, Abi sat at a table, reading a book Deanna gave her whilst Noah and Carl played some card game. Rick walked down the stairs in his new uniform. Abi smiled. They were part of a community, Beth would be proud. False hope. She quickly shook her head of the thoughts from Beth, it was too early to be this happy. But, she could pretend. Her eyes immediately met the boys card game, recognising UNO.
"Oh, finally one i'm good at. Can I play?" Abi asked, her thumb staying between the pages in case her question was declined.
"Course," Noah smiled, re starting their game so the Greene could join in. Abi set her book down beside her after being passed her cards.
Carl looked up at the blonde. "I saw you say something to Enid, what happened there?" Abi shrugged, she didn't care. Carl nodded and they went back to playing their card game.

THE GROUP WERE FINALLY SLEEPING IN THEIR OWN HOUSES. Abi lied there in her bed, underneath the purple sheets. She looked up at the dark ceiling as today ran through her brain. What truly was this place? It was made up of fake happiness, false hope and annoying parties. As much as it was exciting, it was extremely boring and cheesy.
Soon the girl got over her lazy slump, getting out of bed and wore the same jeans from yesterday but with a white shirt and brown jacket. Slipping on her converse she looked out her window to see people walking on the streets. It still felt super weird.
As she walked downstairs she was met with Carl. "Hi," she greeted. He looked at her and gave smiled gesturing for her to sit next to him.
She sat beside him as he spoke up, "Deanna's having a party apparently, for us." Abi's eyebrows creased.
"Party?" Carl nodded. "Do we have to go?" She asked. Carl nodded again, "Sadly. But, hey maybe we'll see that Enid girl again. You can ask her why she was outside?"
Abi sighed and shook her head as she went to make herself some breakfast.
✵~✵
CAROL HAD OFFERED to help Abi pick out an outfit for Deanna's party but Abi immediately declined. Based on what Carol was wearing, the safest answer was no. She was not wearing a fancy outfit anytime soon.
Carl had gone with his basic flannel with a shirt thing so Abi put on a white long-sleeve shirt, blue cardigan and black denim shorts. She still had her converse on. Carol had made some food for the party that she brought in with her. Abi walked in after Carl as the noise do talking and slow music filled her ears.
She took in a deep breath as she looked at all of the people around her. She stood beside Carl. He had told her that she could stick by him the entire time, he knew about her problem with large spaces with many people.
Deanna caught sight of them as she walked over. "Welcome!" She greeted.
"Hi," Carol said in her sweet, nice lady act.
"Hi, Carl, Abi. Thank you for coming." Deanna walked in front of Rick and Judith. "You know I didn't get a chance to interview this one. I envy her," Deanna said cooing at the baby.
"Why?" Rick's deep voice spoke.
"She'll get to see what this place will become. Come, come on in." Deanna gestured for them to follow. They followed her into the kitchen.
Carl and Abi awkwardly stood around as they watched everyone. The front door opened and the Anderson's stepped inside. Ron saw Carl and Abi so he walked over to greet them.
✵~✵
TORTUROUS HOURS HAD PASSED. Mikey had joined the group but Ron said how Enid didn't really do these type of things. Abi would focus in and out of the conversations they were having. She wasn't very interested. They were just playing some more games, talking about their life before. Just useless teenage boy bullshit. Abi pushed through for Carl, he was happy to have friends, friends he hadn't watched scream and cry—not that he didn't love Abi, it was just fun to have new experiences.
Abi's eyes travelled around the room as she caught Rick and Ron's mother, Jessie, talking. She was pretty, like movie pretty. Her blonde hair was pushed back into a ponytail, swaying slightly a she nodded to the man's words. Her smile was loud, speaking a million words when she laughed. The woman had a- wait what? Shut up.
Abi turned her attention back to the three boys in front of her as Carl kept complaining to Mikey about how something was a tie.
"You saw it, right?" Carl said to both Ron and Abi. Abi's mouth hung open, nodding slightly to cover up the fact she was gawking over Ron's mother a second ago, Ron copied her actions, laughing at how pathetic his best friend was being.
"Hey, Sam!" Ron called for his younger brother. The young boy came running over.
"Sam, this is Abi and Carl. I think you guys might've met." Abi nodded as she smiled at the young boy.
"Do you guys want a stamp?" Carl and Abi looked at each other then at Ron, he nodded as in to say 'do it.' Sam brought out his stamp and put a red 'A' on both of their hands.
Alexandria.

author notes -
my writing was so shit you can see me just gradually give up on rewriting but oh well. I added in a little glenn and abi moment because we have none of those and without rewriting chapters, i'm like six or seven away from his death.
This is sort of a filler chapter since not much happened with the teenagers. Next chapter Noah dies but we get the woods scene!!!
This wasn't proofread so please tell me of any mistakes! Abi seems a little obsessed with Enid already but it progressively gets worse.
Anyways,
byee <3
