Lillian groaned, as she looked over her outfit that she was currently wearing. She had on her white loose spaghetti strap top tucked in her black high-waisted skinny jeans and her white keds. She shrugged, feeling content with her outfit. Leaving her room with her phone in her back pocket, "Bye, mom. I'm going over to Liz's." Lillian shouted.
"For what?" Leila asked looking up from her laptop.
"A little party." Lillian shrugged, like it was nothing.
"And who's party is it?" Leila asked as she eyed her daughter cautiously.
"Liz... Allen." Lillian said nonchalantly. "From the decathlon team with Jade."
Leila nodded, "Okay. Call me if anything happens."
Lillian nodded, "You got it, dude." She said giving her mother a thumbs up as she left their apartment.
Once she left the apartment building she noticed Jade in her father's car with Michelle. Lillian sat in the back seat beside Michelle as Jade sat in the passenger's seat. "Hello, Mr. Beckett." Lillian greeted.
"Hey, Lilly." Jade's father smiled as he drove off to Liz's house. "There's not gonna be any drinking at this party, right?"
"No, dad. I told you this a million times." Jade chuckled.
"Girls, she's not lying?" He asked.
Michelle and Lillian shook their heads as they answered in unison, "No, sir."
"Alright, I believe you." He said as he glanced at his daughter before looking back at the road.
"You believe them over me, wow. That's sad." Jade shook her head.
"You tend to say whatever you want so you can get whatever you want." Her father retorted.
Lillian and Michelle snicker as Jade's father pulled up to Liz's house. "Alright, girls. Have fun, but not too much fun. MJ, Lilly, if you guys need a ride home just let me know." Jade's father said as the girls got out of the car.
"Thanks, Mr. Beckett." Michelle said as Lillian nodded.
"Alright, bye dad. Love you." Jade said giving him a hug before he drove off.
The girls walked up to the front door opening it as they welcomed theirselves into the house.
"I'll be in the kitchen." Michelle said as she left to go to the kitchen.
"Let's go find Elijah." Jade said dragging Lillian around the house before she could even muster a word.
As if on cue, they bump into Elijah. "Sorry." Lillian apologized as her cheeks heated up in embarrassment.
"It's all good, I'm glad you made it." He smiled as Jade took that as her cue to leave before Lillian could notice.
"Uh, yeah. My friend," She turned to look for Jade but was nowhere to be found as she laughed lightly, "just left me."
"You got a date to homecoming?" He asked.
Lillian eyes widen slightly as she looked at Elijah, taken aback, "N-No." She stuttered trying not to choke on her words as her throat felt like it was closing up on her unwillingly.
"Well, I like you and I was wondering if you'd like-"
"Lilly- I'm sorry, can I take her away from you for a minute." Michelle interrupted, pulling Lillian away from Elijah before he could respond.
Lillian took a deep breath trying to calm herself down as her hands started to get shaky, "Thanks." She breathed out shakily.
"Just breathe." Michelle reassured her. "I know this is probably wrong timing, but Peter is here."
"What?" Lillian breathed out, a confused expression crossing her face.
Michelle shrugged, "I figured you'd want me to tell you." She said.
Lillian shook her head as she left to go find Peter. She figured since he had plans with Ned, he wasn't going to show up- but of course it's Liz's party, he has to show up for her. "Hey, Ned." Lillian smiled. "Peter." Her arms crossed, "I thought you had some... stuff you guys had to do." She questioned using the same words he used.
"I-I uh. Um-"
"Oh my gosh! You guys made it." Liz greeted cheerfully.
Lillian rolled her eyes, leaving the three of them as she heard them greet her back with the same energy, Ned noticing her reaction which threw him off a bit.
Lillian walked off to find either Jade or Michelle, but to her luck she couldn't find either of them. She walked up the stairs of the house and walked out to the balcony to get some fresh air. She could still hear the music and Flash through his microphone, but it was faint yet still audible. Her hands gripped on the metal bar that was keeping her from falling over as she looked up at the stars.
"Penis Parker!" She heard flash shout throughout the house which she rolled her eyes in return. "What's up? Where's your pal Spider-Man? Let me guess, he's with your imaginary girlfriend." He mocked Peter before continuing. "Oh wait. That's not Spider-Man. It's just Ned in a red shirt." He said blowing his 'roasting' air horn.
Even though she wasn't there to see what happened, she already knew Peter was pissed about Flash's remarks. Pulling out her phone from her back pocket, she checked to see if Jade or Michelle had texted her- nothing. As she slipped her phone back in her pocket, the sound of a small thud caught her attention but couldn't find where it's coming from. Until she saw a shadow of a figure taking off their jacket across from her.
She couldn't make out who it was let alone hear who it was, until she saw the infamous red and blue suit. Her eyes widened in shock as she realized it was Spider-Man on Liz's roof. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she thought: what in the world is Spider-Man doing on Liz's roof. She watched as Spider-Man stood up and swung in a different direction and never came back.
"There you are. I was looking everywhere for you."
Lillian turned to face Elijah as he walked up to her. "I'm really sorry, but I gotta go. I'll see you at school?" She asked as she left before he could answer. She walked down the stairs to look for Jade, who was in the kitchen. "Jade."
"Did he ask you out?" Jade asked with a smile on her face.
"Yes, but-"
Jade gasped, "Did you say yes?"
"No, look- I just saw Spider-Man on top of Liz's roof." Lillian whispered.
"What?! That means Peter wasn't lying about knowing him or being friends with him." Jade said in shock.
"Where's Peter?" Lillian asked as she looked around her for any sign of him.
"He left right after Flash embarrassed him in front of everyone." Jade told her.
Lillian's eyebrows furrowed, "He left? Did Ned leave too?"
Jade shrugged, "I think so I haven't seen him since Peter left."
"Huh, that's a strange coincidence." Lillian mumbled.
"Please, don't go all Nancy Drew on me. They probably got really embarrassed by Flash and decided to leave." Jade stated.
Lillian nodded hesitantly, "Yeah." She mumbled. "Hey, I'm gonna go home. I'm kinda getting tired and a little bored." She told her.
Jade nodded in understanding, "Okay, I'll text you later?"
"Yeah, of course." Lillian smiled as she hugged Jade goodbye. She left Liz's house, pulling her phone out to call her mom to pick her up as she thought: was it a coincidence that once peter left Spider-Man showed up to Liz's house?
