(Kind of a boring chapter, except for the fact that a new character is unlocked..)
Mei'lu wasn't one to sugar coat, she was blunt. She would rather someone give her the hard truth than cover it up with faux comforts. Truly, that was why so many people had such distaste for the girl. They don't like how honest she is. Though that never bothers Mei'lu, she would rather be alone anyway.
BREATHE
"The way of water has no beginning and no end. The sea is around you, and in you. The sea is your home, before your birth, and after your death. Our hearts beat in the womb of the world. Our breath burns in the shadows of the deep. The sea gives, and the sea takes. Water connects all things. Life to death, and darkness to light."
It was a beautiful day out. The sun was bright, and water was warm. A good day for a swim, but instead of swimming, the group was sat on a large rock, either teaching, or being taught about the ocean and how to breathe.
Mei'lu was entranced by the waves. She closed her eyes in content, the sound of the water calming her. But it wasn't long before eyes snapped open at the obnoxious giggling in the group, and she looked over to see her cousin with her hands all of over one of the brothers, who was blushing furiously. Grimacing, she looks at the others reactions, finding laughs, looks of amusement, and an eye roll.
Clearing her throat, Mei'lu gives her cousin a pointed look, making her face flush purple before looking down and backing away for the boy.
"Breathe from your stomach, not your chest." Mei'lu sharply spoke, rolling her eyes at the oldest Sully who obviously did not have a clue of what he was doing. Neteyam was heavily breathing from his chest, his breathing was loud and quite frankly, annoying. She definitely was not going to be sitting next to him next lesson.
Huffing, Mei'lu reached over to the him, harshly poking his stomach and then chest. He snapped his eyes open. "You breathe from here, not here!" He just stared at her with wide eyes.
"Oh okay, thank you." He smiled awkwardly, and for a second Mei'lu felt a little bad, she was just rude to him, so why the hell is he so calm?
"You're welcome" She cleared her throat.
Ka'ey and Tsireya looked at each other in confusion. Since when did she start acting like that?
The group was quiet after that, it wasn't awkward and Mei'lu couldn't have been more thankful for that. After last night, she was scared that she was going to be questioned about it. But she wasn't, and she was just glad that no one had mentioned it.
The calming moment was suddenly ripped away from them when they heard loud footsteps approaching them. "Yo what's up man?" Ka'ey spoke. When Mei'lu turned to see who it was, she jumped back when she saw a face already in front of hers, and she internally groaned at who it was.
Kekunan.
A boy that was apart of Ao'nungs clique that has been trying to get with Mei'lu since they were young children.
He held his hand out in front of her. Ignoring it, Mei'lu pulled herself up from her position on the ground, before wiping her hands off on her legs.
Kekunan awkwardly scratched the back off his head, before looking down to avoid anyone's gaze. Mei'lu didn't feel bad though. The boy was extremely rude, and never knew when to stop tormenting people.
"Well" Ao'nung started, "We were thinking of throwing a little celebration, for the older kids." Kekunan finished, whispering the last part.
"I don't know guys, you know what happened last time." Tsireya spoke warily.
"Oh come on Reya, even though we got in trouble, that was the most fun you've had and you know it." Mei'lu persuaded.
Tsireya sighed, muttering out a 'fine' before turning to the rest of the group and asking them. Ka'ey let out something along the lines of 'fuck yeah', along with Lo'ak. Neteyam looked skeptical at first, so he said he would think about it. Kiri looked unsure, she didn't know if she could even trust these na'vi yet, but whatever Neteyam decided was her answer, because she knew her oldest brother wouldn't do anything that he knew would get them in trouble. "When is this?" Asked Neteyam.
"Tonight, so make up your mind." Ao'nung spoke before leaving, his friends (puppets) following after him.
"Can we go?" Neteyam looked over to see Tuk and It'ey. "Uh..", the boy dragged out, scratching his head. "Please Neteyam" The girl begged, trying to get her way. Neteyam looked around for help, knowing if he looked at his sister he would give in. "Hm I mean I guess you guys could go, but I have something even better you could do." A voice spoke. The kids gasped, "Like what?!", and now it was Mei'lu's turn to look for help.
"There's this game that we used to play all the time, it's called tag, Dad taught us. Do you remember it Tuk?"
The young girl gasped. "I do remember! You're so right, that is so much funner!" Mei'lu bit back a laugh at her use of the non-existent word.
"I wanna play!" It'ey called out with a whine. Tuk'tirey gasped again, "Can we start now?!"
"Maybe you guys can play after lessons, okay?" Said Neteyam.
"Okay! Thank you guys!" Tuk quickly hugged her brother and sat down in her spot from before, with It'ey right beside her.
On the way back to her spot, Mei'lu ruffled up her younger brothers hair, which made him whine in annoyance and swat her hands away. She sat back in her seat with a small giggle.
Once they were all sat, Tsireya continued the lesson. Mei'lu wasn's paying much attention though, she was excited for tonight. She was happy to finally be getting a break from practically being a parent, and who knows, maybe she'll actually have some fun tonight?
