(What Valerie looked like at twenty)
βΌ βΌ βΌ βΌ βΌ
It had been a month since Valerie and Han had broken up. Valerie decided to move back to London, England, where herself and Han met, the place she was born. Her father was with her mother in Cuba and they had not spoken since Edward disagreed with what she wanted to do with her life. Become an assassin. After the car wreck where she practically killed an enemy of her mother, she got into that lifestyle.
Han and herself still stayed close friends. She hadnt talked with any of her family as neither of them liked what she did, her mother understood, but wasnt proud. Valerie got into racing when she was young, and she always loved it. She started racing for money and when she turned twenty, valerie decided to do a special job for a friend. They were paying almost 200k for her to eliminate an enemy.
Valerie got dressed in something comfortable for her, she hopped in her black mclaren and followed the directions to a building. Valerie entered the building, greeting people with a smile, she walked into an elevator and took it to the very top floor.
She took a keycard from a guard and swiped it before the doors opened and everyone turned to her. "So i know you're really busy right now, but i'm here to kill you." Valerie grinned and the guards came and attacked her, she yawned before flip kicking three across the face, kicking them back and through a window, she grimaced as they died instantly, landing on the concrete. She fought the rest of the guards and killed them without a hint of mercy.
Suddenly hearing clapping, she turned around and bit her lip, raising a brow at the unknown man. "Who the hell are you?" She grabbed a gun and pointed it at the unknown man who had a huge grin across his face, while still keeping one of the main target.
"I would ask the same thing, except you won't be alive to care. Thank you, for doing my job by the way. Spared me some bruises, but I think I can take over. Although you won't have a choice." He said with a strong English accent, pulling out a gun he pointed it at the woman.
"Now what makes you think that?" She smirked and pulled out her phone, taking a quick picture of him. "Considering you're out of bullets. And well, I don't want to assume, but you look like you're self taught." Valerie glanced down and back to the man, she took a step forward and tossed her gun to the side. She tossed the other one at the target and hit him directly in the head, making him fall back unconscious from how hard the hit was.
"You're right, I am. And I'm pretty damn good." Valerie ran up and did a flip kick, knocking the gun from his hands. She took a breath and smiled at him, he snarled at her and she kicked him back. She didn't want to kill him, because well it was a bit unnecessary and he was quite attractive. He ran up and pulled her into a headlock, wanting to put her to sleep so he didn't have to kill her.
"You know if we were in a much different situation, I would say this is quite the turn on." She breathed out, elbowing him in the stomach, she kneed him and pushed him back into the wall. He smiled at her before and ran up and wrapped her legs around his neck. "I'd say the same, but considering we aren't, I'm sorry I have to do this." Deckard replied before he slammed her body into a glass table.
She groaned and clutched her stomach in agony. "Sorry love, but someone has to pay the bills." Deckard pulled out another gun and walked up to the target who was now conscious. "I'm going to make this quick, since we know she wouldn't have." Before he could pull the trigger, Valerie walked up behind him and swept his legs.
"Bye bye." She pulled her trigger and killed her target, taking a picture of his dead body as visual confirmation. "You really don't give up." Deckard groaned, she smiled and grabbed his hand, pulling him up and their chests collided together. She pursed her lips and stepped back, letting his hand go. "Not really, no. I'm Valerie. Valerie Santina." She introduced with a smile.
"Deckard. Deckard Shaw." She looked up in thought, remembering the name. "That name sounds familiar. Well, I should really get going." Valerie smirked at him and walked past him, slipping her number into his pocket.

Valerie revved her engine, ready for a race, the guy who controlled the race said the person she was racing was a surprise. She was driving a red ferrari f8 tributo. Valerie furrowed her brows, feeling her phone vibrate, she picked it up and answered it, placing it on the phone mount. "Hello?" She spoke, then the mystery driver pulled up beside her.
"Hello Valerie." Valerie chuckled, recognizing the voice as Deckard Shaw. "I see you found the note." She smiled and turned to see the car she was racing, he rolled the window down and smirked. "I did!" She hung up the phone and rolled down her window to speak with him.
"You know, you can't beat me. I've been doing this since I was a kid!" Deckard laughed and a woman wearing skimpy clothes, stood in front of their two cars. "We'll see about that!" The woman swung her arms down and Valerie immediately took off. Deckard following behind.
Valerie won.
They both drove back and once Valerie got out, everyone cheered and crowded around her car. The guys picked her up and she hopped on top of her car, smiling at Deckard from afar. She hopped off with the help of her guy friend and the man passed her the money she won. Everyone began spreading out for a new race. Valerie walked up to Deckard and smiled, "Follow me."
They both slid in their cars and Deckard followed Valerie. Valerie parked on the side of the ride and got out, Deckard also parking and getting out. "Where are we going?" He asked, walking up to her, she smiled and turned on her flashlight considering it was dark out. "You'll see, pretty boy." She began walking through the forest and finally came where there was a small waterfall and lake.
The moonlight glistening against the water, providing them light. "I found this place when I was fourteen. Me and my friends came out her and got drunk every weekend. I didn't make the best choices when I was younger. Hell, I still don't now. But I come here when I need a break, away from reality." She pulled her crop over her head and tossed it on the ground. Pulling her pants down so she was left in her bra and underwear.
She tossed her phone and purse down in the sand and faced Deckard. "We're only so young forever. Might as well enjoy it." She pulled out a bottle of tequila and smiled. "I like your style." He pulled his shirt over his head and pulled off his pants. She chuckled and took a big gulp of the alcohol before passing him the bottle and walking into the water. He took a swish and followed her in.
They had talked about their families and why they started doing what they did. Apparently he started really young because it was the family business. She told him she started with street racing with her father and then when she ended up killing someone, that's how she started taking after her mother's footsteps. They enjoyed talking to each other.
She didn't tell him about Han except she had recently broken up with a man and that's why she decided to move back to London. Deckard admired everything about her, he knew he was in deep, and it was only the beginning. Little did they both know, the were deeply in love without realizing it.

After their first kiss that happened to be the place where they practically fell in love with each other. Under the waterfall. They have had several dates, not too flashy or too big since they didn't like big surprises. Valerie had met all his family and she loved Magdalene and Hattie. Owen was a work in progress as she still hated him since their drunk hookup. Deckard met Edward, privately without Valerie. And Valerie didn't want to be around her father.
Deckard loved Malina and he knew of her siblings, he had met with Austin. But Selena was off the grid and Valerie couldn't get in contact with her. Valerie had become the most wanted professional assassin in the world and Deckard couldn't have been more proud of her. They got a place in Italy, it was gorgeous. They had their jobs and would be busy every while. But they always made time for each other.
Valerie and Deckard got into arguments about small things all the time, some things bigger than others. But he would always end up apologizing because he couldn't have been more in love with her and couldn't stand when she was upset.
Valerie woke up, laying on Deckard' chest, she quietly groaned as the sun hit their warm bodies. Valerie quickly slipped out of bed and put on one of Deck' shirts before closing the curtains. She wasn't a fan of the sun. Deckard smiled as she exited the bathroom after her nice hot shower. She was wearing his oversized shirt and a new pair of underwear. She had her hair up in a messy bun after blow drying it.
"You're awake. I was wondering how long it would take. Though I can't blame you since we had quite the rough night." She smirked and pressed a kissed on his lips, his hands fell on her back and he pulled her on top of him. "No. I just took a shower and I have to meet with your mother today. She has a job for me." She pecked his lips and hopped off of him.
"You're always with my mother." He groaned and sat up, he walked into their closet and slipped on some grey sweats and a white shirt. "Well, she loves me. Darling you know I need the money right now. Especially with my mother in the hospital and my brother got into trouble again. I need to find some way to pay off their debts. You know my father doesn't like taking my money so I have to find a way to send it without him knowing."
Deckard nodded and placed his hands on her waist, leaning in and pressing a soft kiss on his lips. "I still don't understand why you won't let me help with that. And darling, you're filthy rich, she shouldn't worry about that." He said, trying to reassure his girlfriend.
"My father won't take my money, so what makes you think he'll take yours. It's not your problem to worry about. And I know I have the money, but it still needs to be cleaned. Your mum is the one helping with that problem. And you know how stubborn Edward is, he is going to refuse my help. He thinks he can do it himself, but he can't. So I have to." Valerie pecked his lips and walked over to the living area.
She texted Magdalene when she was going to be there and then texted her brother that she was sending the money over soon. "I have contacts Val. Let me at least help out with your brother if I can't help your mother." Deckard offered, coming from behind Valerie and wrapping his arms around her waist. Pressing a kiss to her neck.
She hummed and laid her head on his shoulder whilst he kissed her neck. Valerie smiled and pressed button on her tablet, the song 'Give Me Love, by Ed Sheeran' play softly. They swayed around the living room, he spun her around she landed into his chest. "Okay. I'll let you help."
He smiled at his girl and lifted her up by her waist, she giggled and wrapped her legs around his waist. "I love you." She spoke, wrapping her arms around his neck, enjoying her time with him. Little did she know, it wouldn't last long. "I love you too." He set her down and they continued the dance, smiling perfectly at the moment. Thinking it would last forever.
But all it took was one call to end it.
Deckard was in the bathroom, showering whilst Valerie was eating takeout and sat on the couch, watching The Originals. She sat criss cross on the couch, smiling at the screen. Still thinking about her and Deckard' perfect dance they had that morning. She decided to stay home with Deckard, and Magdalene agreed and rescheduled their day for tomorrow.
She paused her show, seeing Deckard come out of the bathroom, dressed in a suit with a serious face. She frowned at that and walked over, furrowing her brows when he was grabbing every weapon available. "What's going on?" She asked but he hadn't spoke, instead he grabbed another duffel bag and filled it with more guns.
"Deckard, what's going on? Tell me." She grabbed his arm and stopped him from what he was doing. She held his shoulders and pulled him back, "Tell me." She demanded, he looked down and sighed in defeat. He couldn't really tell her why he was leaving as he made a promise.
"Really? That's how you want to play this?" He looked down and removed her hands from his shoulders, going back and grabbing the duffel bags filled with weapons. He grabbed the rest of his things and began to leave, she ran after him and stood beside the doorframe. "Deckard?!" She shouted and he stopped, looking down in defeat.
"You take on more step and I swear we are done! Over! Just, please tell me what's going on! Decks? Come on?" She pleaded, tears spilling from her eyes as he refused to look at her. "Deck?" He bit his tongue and blinked away the tears willing to fall. Not saying another word, he left.
He was gone.
Valerie fell to the floor and cried uncontrollably, she swore she hated him. She hated him. Valerie screamed and flipped the tables and chairs, whatever moved, she flipped. Glass sprawled all over the floors, her hands bloodied and wounded. Her knees bleeding and draining, she felt no physical pain, it was all emotionally.
She curled up in a corner and grabbed the sharpest knife she had. And she cut. She cut and cut until blood was oozing from her wrists. She cried and cried, screaming in sadness in anger. She wanted to die. She just couldn't handle him leaving her. She knew she had separation anxiety and she knew it was bad when she broke up with Han. That was when she began self harm.
When she left her family, not willingly, but she was separated from them. But once Deckard came along, she knew she found her anchor again, she found Hattie, Magdalene, and most importantly, Deckard. None of them knew about her separation anxiety, she didn't want to feel like a burden.
Barely conscious, she didn't even notice Hattie' cries and screams for her to wake up and open her eyes. Hattie called 9-1-1 and then Magdalene for her to help make sure nobody recognized who Valerie was when it came down to ID. Hattie kept Valerie conscious until the paramedics showed up, Magdalene had gotten their just in time so she could make sure they didn't know Valerie' true identity.

Valerie had woken up in a hospital, Magdalene and Hattie at her bedside. They tried calling Deckard, but he turned off his phone. Magdalene and Hattie took Valerie home as she hated hospital's, they tried several times to ask her what happened. But she refused to answer. Valerie stayed at Magdalene' place until she healed, then she would leave Italy with Hattie and Magdalene and move back to London.
Magdalene only lived in Italy since Valerie and Deckard did. Hattie had recently flown in from London to visit, it was a good thing she arrived in time. Valerie made Hattie and Magdalene promise not to speak of that day, Val had gotten the apartment in Italy cleaned, and sold since she refused to live their anymore. She brought everything back to London, some things even Deckard' as she couldn't find it in her heart to get rid of it.
Till this day, Hattie and Magdalene still had no idea what happened that day, but they knew it involved Deckard.
Valerie had gotten a penthouse in London since she no longer lived in her apartment in London. Valerie had never spoke of Deckard and if someone had mentioned him, she would immediately brush it off. She hated him. Or at least that's what she believed. Ever since he left, her life only got more complicated and worse.
Her father 'died' in others eyes and she believed it for a while until she found out what really happened. Austin was locked up because he was framed by the one and only Owen Shaw, just to get back at Valerie. For what? She still doesn't know, but she has reason to believe it was because of Ciphers directions. She figured it was just a distraction to lead her off of Cipher.
Valerie still had problems with her anxiety, but Magdalene helped her with that all the time. Magdalene and Hattie checked up on her every time they could. Valerie was grateful for them, but she still felt as if she were a burden. Malina had been locked up, like that was shocking. After the funeral for her father, Malina got back into the crime life.
But for some odd reason, Malina enjoyed being locked up. She liked bitching around the newbies and she in general just liked being locked up as it was comforting to her. Like her own retirement home. Valerie found that weird but not shocking at the same time. Selena still refused to speak with Valerie, not shocking. She arrived at the funeral once Valerie had agreed to leave soon.
Valerie sent things to Austin in prison, all the time, and made sure everyone in that prison, knew not to fuck with a Santina. Nobody fucked with Austin as they knew who his sister was and that if they did, she would kill everyone they loved or cared for, and would make sure they died painfully and slowly. Therefore, Austin was labeled toughest guy in the prison. Nobody would mess with him.
Valerie never knew why everyone was so terrified of her. She was super sweet if she said so herself. Yeah, she showed no mercy to her targets, but she wasn't that bad. Was she?
As Deckard would say, "Valerie isn't so bad when you get to know her. Just stay on her good side, and you won't die."
But Deckard had a power over her more than anyone else. She loved him.
But would that truly be enough?
