[Midnight rain] - [Taylor swift]

As Jay embarked on his summer getaway in Italy, Venice greeted him with an atmosphere unlike any other. Cycling through streets, he was entranced by the charm of the city, where every corner revealed a new marvel to behold.

From the majestic grandeur of the ancient palaces to the tranquil beauty of the winding canals, Venice cast a spell on him at every turn. With each stop, Jay paused to immerse himself in the moment, capturing the essence of Venice through the lens of his camera.

As Jay pedaled along the sun-kissed streets of Venice, a figure caught his eye, cycling gracefully ahead. The evening breeze tousled their hair, creating an ethereal silhouette that seemed eerily familiar. His heart skipped a beat as he watched, the resemblance too uncanny to ignore.

Yet, he dismissed it as mere imagination, knowing deep down that Sora would never leave Seoul. But the figure persisted, gliding effortlessly through the picturesque scenery, casting a spell of doubt upon his certainty.

Could it truly be her, or was his longing heart playing tricks on his mind?

Jay lay basking in the sun on the beach, drawing the admiring gazes of women around him, already dreaming up summer flings.

One bold woman approached him and asked in broken English, "Sit here?"

Jay simply rolled his eyes and replied, "No, I have a girlfriend." The woman apologized in Italian before retreating to her friends, clearly embarrassed.

The truth was, Jay didn't have a girlfriend; his heart belonged to someone else. Despite her insistence to leave her alone, he couldn't shake his love for her. Secretly, he supported her in every way he could, from finding the perfect office space to covering her food expenses and even discreetly intervening to prevent her from going on dates. He couldn't bear the thought of her being with anyone else.

Jay's popularity extended beyond Korea to Italy, where he had his circle of friends. Despite his initial refusal, he found himself persuaded to attend a party. As he stepped into the venue, he was greeted by a vibrant scene bathed in purple lights, casting a glow over the bustling crowd.

Amidst the eager women begging for his attention, Jay remained resolute, content with sipping from his cup. Yeonjun, spotting his friend amidst the crowd, couldn't suppress a pang of sadness.

"Come on, bro, you gotta let her go," he urged, his voice tinged with concern.

"But hyung-" Jay began, only to be swiftly cut off.

"No 'buts'," Yeonjun interjected firmly. "You came here to let loose, to forget your troubles, not to dwell on them. Don't waste your summer break fixating on this. It's only a matter of time before that damned company traps you in their clutches."

Jay sighed heavily and downed his drink in one go. As he danced with a woman who was clinging to him, he felt an urge to leave, but Yeonjun's stern gaze stopped him in his tracks. With a forced smile, he turned back to the woman in front of him, only for his heart to skip a beat. It couldn't be...but it was her.

There she stood, amidst the purple lights and pulsating music, her presence casting a spell over the room. Her aura exuded elegance and allure, drawing his gaze like a moth to a flame. It felt as though time stood still as he locked eyes with her, his heart racing with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. A rush of emotions flooded his senses, reminding him of the deep connection they once shared.

Amidst the throng of partygoers, their eyes met fleetingly, sparking an instant connection. Without a word, she slipped away into the night, but Jay couldn't let her go that easily. Ignoring the pulsating music and the clamor around him, he pursued her until he found her sitting on the grass, gazing up at the stars.

Jay settled onto the grass beside Sora, maintaining a careful distance. "Sora, it's been a while..." he began, his familiar scent stirring memories she tried to suppress.

"Yes, it has," she replied, her tone cold, masking the emotions swirling within.

Attempting to break the ice jay added "I heard about your office... Congratulations."

"How do you know about that?"

"Silly, who do you think found that building for you?" Jay added, a soft smile gracing his lips.

Then it dawned on her, and she realized he had been behind more than she thought. "So, you're the Mr. Park who rented the restaurant..." she said, a mix of surprise and realization in her voice.

After a pregnant silence, Jay's whisper cut through the night, reaching Sora's ears. "I couldn't stand the thought of you being with someone else."

"I thought I was a nobody."

Jay let out a heavy sigh, recalling the scripted interview. "I didn't mean it, and you know it. I was reading from a script."

Jay got up and extended his hand to Sora, who was sitting on the grass. "Come on, the city looks prettier at night."

Reluctantly, Sora took his hand, and they ventured out into the city. They strolled along the illuminated streets, the bustling energy of the nightlife surrounding them. They found themselves wandering through narrow alleys adorned with twinkling lights, weaving through crowds of people laughing and chatting.

As they walked, they shared snippets of conversation, catching up on each other's lives in an attempt to bridge the gap that had formed between them.

As the night wore on, they continued to explore the city, they found themselves standing on a bridge overlooking the tranquil waters of a canal. They stood side by side, silently taking in the beauty of the scene before them, grateful for the opportunity to share this moment together.

Their hands slightly brushed against each other, each lost in their own thoughts, unsure of what to do next. Then, breaking the silence, Jay spoke, his voice soft and filled with emotion. "You know, Sora, even amidst all the chaos, being here with you feels like coming home."

Sora's heart fluttered at his words, and in a bold move, she closed the gap between them in a hungry kiss. It was sweet and gentle, yet filled with a longing that had been building between them. They didn't break away until they needed to catch their breaths, their noses brushing against each other.

Jay gazed into Sora's eyes, his expression tender. "You don't know how much I missed this," he confessed softly.

Sora chuckled, her laughter tinged with affection. "Pervert..." she teased, but her eyes sparkled with the same warmth that filled Jay's heart.

In Jay's hotel room, they surrendered to their desires, their actions driven by a longing that had been dormant for too long. Jay lifted her tenderly, guiding her to the bed where they found solace in each other's arms, the moon casting a soft glow upon their reunion.

As Jay stirred awake, his first instinct was to reach out for Sora, but his hand found only empty sheets. Confusion clouded his mind momentarily as he scanned the room, half-expecting to find her still there, her presence lingering like a beautiful dream. The realization slowly dawned on him that last night wasn't just a figment of his imagination; it was real.

Remembering his flight back to Korea, he headed to first class. To his surprise, he found Sora seated in the adjacent seat, engrossed in a Fyodor Dostoevsky book.

"Pain and suffering are always inevitable for a large intelligence and a deep heart," Jay remarked softly, noticing Sora's presence beside him.

Ignoring his comment, she smiled to herself, but when she turned around, her heart plummeted. "What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice betraying a hint of surprise.

"I'm going back to my country, if you don't mind,"

Rolling her eyes, she raised her hands, signaling for the flight attendant. "Excuse me, miss, but is there another seat available? This guy next to me is disturbing me,"

"How can you say that after what we did last night? You're not going to say it's a mistake, right?" he added, his tone laced with a mix of frustration and disbelief.

The flight attendant widened her eyes, taken aback by the sudden tension. "I'm sorry, miss, but no," she replied hastily before hurrying off, assuming it was just a lover's quarrel.

Sora sighed and returned to her book, trying to distract herself from the awkwardness of the situation. Jay's unexpected words caught her attention. "Love a man, even in his sin, for that love is a likeness of the divine love, and is the summit of love on earth," he recited.

"Where did you learn that?"

"I will do anything for you, I will travel through the depths of the ocean or climb the highest mountains just to be by your side,"

Their conversation fell into a contemplative silence until Jay broke it. "Sora, can I be your boyfriend?"

"Are you seriously asking me this on a plane?"

"Maybe, because this might be my last chance. I regret not pursuing you, not showing you to the world, and trying to hide you. But I'm tired of that. I want to be with you without fear, without hesitation," he confessed, his eyes searching hers for a sign of acceptance.

Moved by his words and overwhelmed by her own emotions, Sora leaned in and kissed him tenderly. "I guess that's a yes," she whispered, her heart swelling with affection.

In a tender gesture, Jay enveloped Sora in a warm embrace, holding her close as he pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. In the quiet intimacy of the moment.

he whispered softly, "I love you,".

Feeling the sincerity in his embrace, Sora nestled closer, her heart overflowing with love. With a soft smile, she replied, "I love you too,"

As they leaned back in their seats, basking in the warmth of their newfound connection, a familiar sound interrupted their reverie—a camera click.

They exchanged a knowing glance and chuckled softly, realizing that some things indeed never change.

In winter, they began; spring offered no solace, but summer redeemed their love.
