Feeling a bit groggy after waking up in the middle of the night, Sora realized she hadn't had any coffee before leaving the house.

"That reminds me," she muttered, opening her eyes to the ceiling. "I need to buy coffee."

Sora grabbed her purse and headed outside the clinic. Luckily, there was a coffee shop nearby, so she decided to go there for an iced macchiato—a sweet yet powerful pick-me-up to keep her alert for the rest of the day.

Placing her order, which included an extra scone from the pastry menu, Sora settled at a nearby table to await her food and drink. As she sat there, the television broadcasting today's headlines captured her attention.

"The famous male idol from Hybe is facing backlash due to..." the news reporter's voice faded into the background of the bustling coffee shop. Sora paid no mind to the rest of the news.

Staring at the screen, she watched the reporter's bloodied nose, chuckling at the scene. "When did idols get this bold?" she mused.

Shaking her head to dispel any lingering thoughts, she refocused just as the pager on her table vibrated, signaling that her orders were ready.

Back at the clinic, Sora savored her macchiato and scones, passing the time until her meeting with Jay.

Jay arrived five minutes after the proposed time. He's five minutes late but it's not like he did that on purpose.

If he'll do something like that on purpose, he'd come thirty minutes late.

It just happened that the recording at the studio took longer than anticipated, nontheless he was able to make it

How will sora describe him at first?

She just took in his appearance without expectations. She didn't anticipate his looks or style, having learned that expecting something often led to disappointment.

The man who entered was of moderate height, not towering like an athlete but certainly not short enough to not tell a woman about it.

He concealed his face with a cap, scarf, and face mask, leaving only his eyes visible. Those eyes, a dramatic shade akin to deep orlovs, drew attention.

"Can you take off..." Sora instructed, pointing at the cap and mask.

"What if you post my pictures here on the internet?"

"I will not do that, our patients' privacy is paramount here," she reassured, mumbling under her breath, "I like txt anyway," careful not to let him hear.

Initially hesitant, Jay sighed and removed the items masking his face.

Sora, however, regretted asking as she was met with the sight of the most attractive man she had ever seen. Her breath hitched, understanding why he was an idol.

Jay had striking black hair with an undercut, its sheen catching the light in her office. The first thing she noticed was his honey-toned skin, which glistened even in the cold weather.

His features carried a captivating allure, combining with his undeniable charisma to underscore his status as a figure in the world of idols.

In matters of fashion, Jay leaned towards the chic side rather than casual, exuding a luxurious aura from head to toe with his Prada ensemble. Interestingly, Sora observed a similarity in their fashion sense.

From a distance, one might mistake them for a couple due to their matching outfits, though Sora tended to favor a more formal look most of the time. Their shared sense of style added an unexpected dimension to their professional dynamic.

"Are you done checking me out?" Jay's voice broke the silence, and Sora shifted her gaze from his body to meet his eyes.

His deep voice, she had to admit, from when he called last night is almost the same as his voice now that he's talking in person.

Perhaps even better

"I wasn't checking you out, Mr. Park. I was simply assessing your possible personality based on the way you act, speak, and even dress. Please don't put it that way," she responded.

"That's what checking out someone is," Jay remarked.

This time, Jay didn't receive a direct response, only a simple smile from Sora. "Please have a seat, Mr Park."

He could tell at first glance, the smile wasn't the sickeningly genuine one, albeit inviting. It's not like it's fake either, it's just not something so sweet that it's almost sickening to look.

He sensed that Sora's smile, while not overly genuine, wasn't fake either – more inviting than sickeningly sweet. It didn't waver, avoiding the exaggerated quality of a million-dollar smile.

Once Jay settled comfortably in front, Sora retrieved her journal.

"Doc, you probably know who I am from all these magazines and headers, so let's skip formalities," Jay suggested.

"No, let's not skip formalities."

Uncertain about Sora's approach, Jay pondered if it would be different from previous sessions. Sora interrupted the train of thought, putting her journal down and briefly closing it.

"My name is Jung Sora. I'm a clinical psychologist, and I have been practicing in the field for three years."

"I'm Park Jay. I've been to a few therapy sessions before, but none of them lasted longer. They're just all the same. Plain, too kind, and boring, looking for gossip stories to tell the world," he remarked, his gaze indifferent.

"Jaehyun was the one who told me about you. I wonder what makes you different from those boring therapists," Jay added.

"I see."

Observing his arrogant posture and the way he spoke, Sora pondered how much it would take to strike a nerve.

"I told him not to push you to make an appointment with me," she mentioned.

"He told me," Jay confirmed.

Sora figured. "And the fact that you're here..." she trailed off, and Jay didn't quite like it. "...must have meant that a simple reverse psychology worked on you quite easily."

In fact, Jay hated the way she put it, and his displeasure was written all over his face.

He exuded fury, and if looks could kill, Sora might have been six feet under. She discerned that he detested feeling inferior to others, momentarily tempted to write it down in her journal to provoke him further but decided against it.

"Jung Sora," Jay started, leaning forward with a glare. "Are you saying I'm easy to manipulate?"

Sora's first meeting with Jay Park ended up with her successfully striking his nerve and possibly his ego too.

But did she regret it?

Of course not, as he was the one who struck a nerve first.
