Those smiles faded as they stepped into the class and saw...

Third-person pov

Kathy sat on one of the benches.

"She has the same class?" Harry asked with disbelief.

"I didn't know. She didn't tell me" ginny hissed.

"Hey, guys! What are you doing standing here? You came together?" Asked Kathy walking up to them.

"Ye-" ginny cut him off.

"No, we just-" Snape cut her off by clearing his throat.

"If you are done chatting, I'd suggest you take your seat," said shape with his usual stern voice.

They immediately rushed to sit. Harry tried to sit next to ginny but Kathy grabbed his hand first and made him sit next to her.

"Ginny, you can sit there" she pointed to the empty seat next to some Hufflepuff. Ginny nodded sadly and took her seat.

"You might probably wondering why I am in potions class" coughed snape. "but I'm not bothered to explain the reason. so, now open your books and you'd find the preparation of wolfsbane potion, without wasting another minute I want you to pair up and start making that potion" he said with his usual calm yet cold tone.

Harry rolled his eyes. He glanced at ginny only to find her staring back. 'I want to pair up with you' she mouthed with pleading eyes.

'I'm sorry, gin' he mouthed back.

"shall we begin, harry? I know I'm not good in potions but you are" asked Kathy breaking their conversation. Harry nodded.

He quickly hid his half-blood prince book, he doesn't want anyone to see that rather, he lied "my book is a bit old and tattered, can we use yours?"

"Sure. My book is brand new, I don't use it much" she smiled. He couldn't help but laugh at it.

This got ginny's attention. She glared at them biting her lips hardly.   
"Ginny?" The Hufflepuff boy next to her called.

"Mmm?"

He grinned sheepishly. "You probably don't know me"

"I don't." replied ginny not bothering if that was rude.

"Yeah, but I know you. You hang out with the golden trio"

"You know me because I hang out with Harry-?"

He cut her off. "No, not just because of that. I know you because you are one of the most beautiful girls in Hogwarts" he said like it's the most obvious thing.

Ginny is shocked but couldn't help but blush. She doesn't want him saying that though, she wanted to hear those words from only one person.

She also didn't like this guy being so bold. "I know" she shrugged making that guy laugh.

"I'm Henry, by the way" he extended his hand. Ginny thought for a minute and finally shook it.

"I'm ginny, but you already know"

"I do"

"Anyway we should start preparing this"
Henry nodded.

Harry on the other hand was watching this scene from the corner of his eye and couldn't control himself. He's eyeing that bloody Hufflepuff boy's laugh, smiles and unwanted touches he's giving to ginny. He wanted to punch that guy so hard that his bright teeth would break and fall and he would be ashamed of laughing again.

"Harry, I don't get this line, read it out, will you?" Kathy shook his shoulder.

"Umm yeah"

After some time,

"You know, I actually wrote a letter to you?" Asked henry. He was desperately trying to get ginny's attention but she wouldn't talk much.

"Huh?"

"I wrote a letter to you last weekend, asking you out for Hogsmeade" he responded quickly.

This time ginny doesn't know what to say. This bloke keeps hitting on her making her uncomfortable. "Oh"

"So...you've read that?"

"No"

"Oh. Why not?"

Get a fucking hint, you idiot ginny thought. She's done with him. She whirled towards him with a stern and intimidating look.

"Listen, Hunter..."

"It's Henry."

"Yeah, Henry, I'm not interested. I get where you're going but it's not gonna happen." She said with a serious tone hoping he would use his brain for once.

"But why?" He whined.

She glared at him. "Because I have a boyfriend and I don't want you to get your ass kicked. You understand that?" She hissed dangerously making the poor boy gulp with fear. He nodded instantly.

"Good." She smiled to herself by looking at his horror stricken face.

Finally, what felt like an eternity the class is over. They stood up to leave the class when
"Umm...Kathy?" Harry hesitated.

"Yeah?"

"I am your best friend," he said "so is ginny, Hermione and ron. We are always here for you. Don't ever feel alone, we all love you" he offered a smile. He doesn't know where this suddenly came from but when he look at Kathy, he recalls himself. He wanted to be supportive of her, in every possible way he could.

Kathy is confused for a moment but smiled anyway "I know, Harry. I love you all too"  she hugged him.

Ginny just finished collecting her stuff and twirled towards harry only to find him hugging Kathy. Suddenly, she felt a huge lump formed in her stomach, something that wanted to rip Kathy and harry off, something that wants her to cry, something vulnerable.

Without thinking twice ginny stormed off the class.
