𝓓ownfall
''If only there was more time to spare, more time to tell you the words I couldn't tell you... if we didn't leave Earth... if we were able to play at nationals... if we were volleyball superstars when we grew up, will you be my rival again, Kageyama?''
𝓓ownfall: Part1
Clouds travelled across the sky as the two figures played in the distance, one with a particular striking orange hair, and one opposite to him, much taller. Their world wouldn't have changed if they were kidnapped.
Inslaved.
Forced.
Cheated.
But even amongst the children who didn't make it, there they were, standing, playing, as if nothing had ever happened. As if they weren't kidnapped.
Inslaved.
Forced.
Cheated.
"Boke boke!! You should have spiked that!!" Kageyama's voice rose as he lectured the orange haired boy, whom was chasing after the volleyball when it had started to roll down the hill. Lucky for them, they were fortunate enough to have been good enough to earn a small gift from the Segyeins. A volleyball.
The Segyeins never veiwed it as a weapon of any sort, more of like- a plaything. It would have been more interested for them to observe how the humans played with their 'plaything'. By tossing it up in the air and hitting it, creating a noise as it hit the ground with one of their efforts.
"Sorry bakayama!! I only learnt the quick attack just recently!! Don't be a meanie!!" Hinata yelled back, the volleyball back in his arms once again, like the many times before. He ran up the hill, back to the black haired boy as he tripped on a rock.
"Boke... should have watched where you were going..."
"Do you... want a break?"
"NO BREAKS KAGEYAMA!! Once I hit the ball a third time, then we can have a break!!" Hinata retorted.
"Tch- It'll be useless to play alone." Kageyama sat on the grass, the small green blades swaying ever so slightly as Hinata sat down beside him, crossing his legs and placing the volleyball between them.
"Do you think we'll be able to escape this place?" Kageyama started.
"I mean- we've made it this far without the weird aliens to hurt us! We should escape this easy peazy!" Patting Kageyama on the back, Hinata laid on the grass, staring up at the fake sky.
"Once we're out of here, the first thing I'd like to do is play volleyball."
"Me too!"
Just behind a tree not far from their view, Kenma, watching them from a distance. He too had been apart of this alien abduction, and ended up in the same kindergarden as his friend, Hinata, in the Anakt Garden. But, he hadn't noticed him yet. Why would his own friend not notice him?
𝓓ownfall: Part2
Sweat travelled down their faces as they sang on stage, their words carrying the longing in their voice, the way they breahtlessly tried to keep up with one another, to secure a tie so both of them wouldn't lose.
"Oh, my Clematis... Hope bloomed through the abyss...
Oh my Clematis... Always be by my side..."
Kageyama offered a small smile as they both sang, the scores on the large hologram increasing the longer they continued.
"You bloomed from the huge black wall... The galactic stardust spread out in your eyes..."
He gazed onto Kageyama's face- his eyes. The reflection of the infinite stars shimmering against the harsh black sky. Hinata was sure both of them would make it out of here alive.
"You're gonna sacrafice yourself for Hinata, aren't you?" Kuro pondered, smiling as if to mock Kageyama with his plans.
"I want him to survive. I don't want him to die." He replied, his face growing more catious of the guy standing in front of him.
"He's only gonna blame himself for it, it's uesless. He'll be tormented and full of greif. I don't think it's a good idea."
Kageyama gripped onto his microphone, his words slowly growing less passionate than Hinata's, he voice dropping lower and lower as the song progressed, reaching the last few verses.
Was he really going with his plan he told Kuro? What if he was right? If he died, Hinata would be devasted... there's no way there would ever be a tie, the Segyeins would have just chosen one person to be elliminated instead.
He didn't even know of Hinata knew the consequences of loosing ALIEN STAGE, dying.
No, he'd have to do it. There was no choice either way.
"Oh, my Clematis... Hope withered in the abyss....
Oh, my Clematis... Please, stay by my side...."
That was it... the last line... before their fate would be sealed with the scores projected on the hologram. Kageyama knew, he knew what would happen next, what will happen next. But he didn't want to see Hinata's face as it all came true.
"My Cle..ma..tis...!"
They both ended the song, but only one would end their life.
Hinata: 87 Kageyama: 86
Hinata watched in horror as he saw Kageyama's bleeding neck, taking in the multiple bullets that had been shot through him when he lost the competition. The blood dripped slowly from his now lifeless body, as Hinata dropped onto his knees, even Kageyama's blood as somehow made it onto his face when he was shot.
Wide eyes stared frantically for a sign of life, to tell him that maybe it was a joke, that he was lying somehow, that those bullets... the blood... were all fake. It wasn't
Kenma from his own private pod had watched Hinata crumple onto his knees from the sight of his dead friend now laying lifelessly. His hands laid on the glass, watching his best friend completely shatter in front of him.
Behind Hinata, a robot guard had made his way to attach a shock collar onto Hinata's neck.
"If only there was more time to spare, more time to tell you the words I couldn't tell you... if we didn't leave Earth... if we were able to play at nationals... if we were volleyball superstars when we grew up, will you be my rival again, Kageyama?"
His words whispered and barely audible as he was dragged off the stage, tears silently travelling down his terror-stricken face.
"Oh, my Cle... ma... tis...!"
