Monday, September 1st:
HOGWARTS EXPRESS:
It was the first day back at Hogwarts and the news about what happened during the Quidditch world cup was still bouncing off the walls of every wizarding house, business and school.
The death eater attack didn't seem like a coincidence to Artemis, it seemed far too calculated in her eyes as if it was only part of their plan and that they might be building up to something else.
But she didn't want to spend her time worrying about what might be because she just wanted to live in the present.
Artemis had excused herself from her group and their compartment and went off to use the loo.
Most of the 4th years had already changed into their robes, while some still wore the specialised jacket that Le Menté had recently released to the uniform store in Diagon Alley.
Each house had its own, in yellow, blue, green and red.
Celeste and Ophelia saw the success that Artemis' had when she was in 3rd year, therefore they wanted to make more and bring in more money for the year.
Although most professors were not fond of the new look, they couldn't say anything, as the ministry already signed off on them.
There was a lot of gossips that the Zabini twins had connections in the ministry, which they did, but they were just overall popular, therefore Hogwarts bomber jackets were the new craze.
On Artemis's way back to her compartment, she bumped into a familiar face.
"Honestly Artemis, take me to dinner first before you try to get to second base with a guy."
Artemis slowly look up and stared directly into the eyes of Cedric Diggory, who adorned a teasing smile.
He seemed taller and in much better spirits, especially after the awful injury he received last year, which was caused by none other than Artemis' boyfriend.
The Seramore witch shook her head, trying to stop the small smile from appearing on her face, "We're always going to meet this way aren't we?"
"I guess we are," he laughed, then caught the gaze of Iziah Jones, "have you spoken to Zay recently?"
She furrowed her brows at the question, "no Diggory," she followed his gaze and was met with a wave from the boy in question.
Artemis felt slightly bad that they didn't talk over the summer, although she was aware that the Jones brothers frequently spoke to Blaise and Theo because of their business ideas.
She did keep in contact with the Weasley twins, Lee Jordan and the Dons.
Cedric nodded understandingly, feeling bad for his friend, everyone knew in Hufflepuff knew about Iziah's crush on the Seramore girl, it was very obvious.
But it was clear that she only had eyes for Draco, vice versa.
"You're never gonna call me Cedric are you?" Cedric asked.
Artemis grinned, "Probably not."
He sighed dramatically, "Let's hope it happens before I die."
She rolled her eyes, "Like that's gonna happen anytime soon."
"You never know."
They exchanged a smile before she heard someone call her name.
"Darling."
The pair turned around to spot a pair of stormy grey eyes, belonging to Draco Malfoy.
He only left their compartment, worried that his girlfriend had been attacked like she had been last year.
Blaise knew his cousin would be alright, but that didn't stop him from leaving and searching for her.
Draco wasn't fond of Cedric, especially because he's a 6th-year student.
Artemis turned back around and patted the green eye boy on the shoulder, "I better go, bye Diggory."
He nodded, "Safe travels your highness," he watched her walk over to her glaring boyfriend before he went back to sit next to his friends.
Draco wrapped his arms around Artemis's waist, "Hufflepuffs, really?" he scoffed as she snacked her arms around his neck.
"Jealousy is a good colour on you." she bopped his nose, he rolled his eyes and swatted her hand away.
"You're so annoying."
"Yeah yeah."
The couple chuckled, she gave him a quick peck on the lips, then dragged him over to their compartment.
They didn't bother knocking on the door, so they just slid it open.
Daphne and Blaise were practically swallowing each other's faces whilst Theo was covered his disgust by hiding his head with a jumper.
"Disgusting," Draco shoved the couple apart from each other, Theo let out a sigh of relief and swallowed the bile that was creeping up his throat.
Artemis threw Daphne a mirror so she could sort out the lipgloss that smudged over her lips.
Blaise smirked and corrected his dishevelled appearance.
"If this is what this year is going to be like, I might as well jump off the train," The Nott wizard pinched the bridge of his nose and shuffled closer to the mirror.
"You have plenty of people to kiss T," Daphne quipped and then blew her boyfriend a kiss, Blaise pretended to catch it and place it by his heart.
Their friends fake gagged, but they paid no attention to them.
After all, the couple had been dating for a year and 3 months. They were usually more discreet, but since they hadn't seen each other all summer, they didn't care.
"Yes, but I would also like to have conversations with people."
"I just remembered," Blaise spoke up, wiping away the rest of his girlfriend's lip gloss, "the business will be closed this year."
"Why?
"There's talk of other schools coming to ours," Draco said, irked by the thought of more people in his vicinity.
Theo slumped in his chair, "Great,"
"Let's hope they don't get in our way," Artemis said, just as agitated as her boyfriend, who threw an arm around her shoulder.
"And let's hope we don't have a repeat of what happened a few days ago."
"Why would you say that T," Daphne rolled her eyes, "it's Hogwarts, it will definitely happen again."
The purebloods exchanged a look and nodded annoyedly.
"True," they all said in unison.

GREAT HALL:
"Well, now we're all settled in and sorted. I'd like to make an announcement." Dumbledore began speaking, annoying the majority of Slytherin House.
Barty Crouch Senior stood near him.
Artemis was sitting next to Draco, his goons accompanied him. Opposite them was Daphne who sat in the middle of Blaise and Theo.
Suddenly the double doors swung open and Filch staggered up to the front, many students snickered watching him, "This castle will not only be your home this year but home to some very special guests as well" Dumbledore continued, "Hogwarts has been chosen-" he paused when the caretaker got his attention, "Tell them to wait," Dumbledore whispered at the man before he carried on, "Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event: The Triwizard Tournament"
Whispers spread throughout the room.
"Great," Blaise clasped his hands together, ready for the entertainment that the year would bring.
"The Triwizard Tournament brings together three schools for a series of magical contests. From each school, a single student is selected to compete" Dumbledore explained further, "Now let me be clear. If chosen, you stand alone. And trust me when I say, these contests are not for the faint-hearted. But more of that later. For now, please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic"
The doors swung open, revealing a group of young girls, ranging from 11-17, all wearing cerulean outfits, with matching hats as they pranced and awed their way to the front.
Butterflies appeared around them as they did so.
Many boys and a few girls couldn't take their eyes away from them, clapping when they finished their little show.
Blaise, Draco, and Theo all wore bored expressions when they received a few flirty waves from them.
Daphne pressed a kiss to her boyfriend's cheek, causing some of the Beauxbatons students to scowl.
Artemis grinned at the action, although she did feel slightly possessive over Draco, she didn't want to show it.
A tall woman, Madame Olympe Maxime; the headmistress of the school, was escorted to the front by Dumbledore, who doted the woman along the way.
"Now our friends from the north, please treat the proud sons of Durmstrang and the master Igor Karkaroff..."
Everyone turned to see teenage boys stomp in, all clad in brown uniforms, twirling thick spikes as they made their way down the aisle.
Many were in awe as the Bulgarian students flipped and ran toward the Hogwarts professor.
The hall went slightly quieter as Igor and Viktor Krum made paced their way over, to join their own.
"It's him!"
"It's Viktor Krum!"
Various students whispered...rather loudly as they gawked at him.
The Bulgarian boy looked more like a man.
His dark eyes scanned the room, darting between the Gryffindor girls and then they landed on Artemis, they widened as he recognised her.
Draco shuffled closer to his girl and whispered in her ear, "he better stop looking at you."
Initially, Draco was a fan, but after noting the looks he saw the Bulgarian boy giving his girlfriend, he no longer cared about his title.
Viktor furrowed his brows as his eyes darted between the Seramore girl and the Platinum-haired boy.
"Same, with those Beauxbatons girls." Artemis fakely smiled up at her boyfriend, ignoring Viktor's gaze.
"They don't compare to you," Draco replied instantly, she's perfect.
"And Viktor doesn't hold a candle to you."
They shared a chaste kiss, yet passionate kiss, before Theo reached over and nudged them both.
"Everyone give them a warm welcome!" Dumbledore spoke loudly and his students cheered and clapped, "Now as you can clearly see, the Triwizard Tournament will take the whole year, meaning, Quidditch will be cancelled."
Groaning and yelling quickly followed.
Artemis' eyes went wide and shared a look with most of her Quidditch team. "What!"
"That's stupid!" Draco complained.
"Uncancel it!" Marcus yelled.
"I couldn't give a fuck," Daphne whispered to Theo, who chuckled in response.
"Same."
"Do not worry! Quidditch will continue next year!" Dumbledore reassures them, but the Quidditch teams and fans were still very mad, "Now, let the feast begin," He clapped and the food and drinks covered each table.
The Durmstrang boys sat alongside the Slytherins, meanwhile, the Beauxbatons sat at the Ravenclaw table across the room.
Viktor and his entourage sat close to the Pureblood 5, gawking at Artemis and Daphne, but they paid no mind to them.
"You are Artemis Seramore, correct?" The Krum boy asked slowly and Artemis nodded, she felt Draco tighten his grip on her, "you're very talented."
She sent him a tight-lipped smile, "Thank you."
"And beautiful."
She barely reacted to his words, "Thank you," she repeated, "this is my boyfriend Draco Malfoy," she emphasised her words, shocking some of the Durmstrang boys. Draco grinned down at her, "this is my close friend Theo Nott, Cousin Blaise Zabini," she motioned to the boys, "and my best friend and his girlfriend Daphne Greengrass,"
More frowns appeared on the Durmstrang boy's faces, Viktor's bemusement was clear, but he plastered on a smile for appearance reasons, "nice to meet you all." he gritted out and went back to eating.
Blaise's face remained blank, but he was internally screaming. Theo pushed Daphne closer to his close friend, making it clear they were in a relationship, resulting in the rest of the Bulgarian boys looking elsewhere.
Draco laughed into Artemis' neck, whilst she wore an amused expression.
Before they could continue eating, Dumbledore went back to his announcements.
"I'd like to say a few words. Eternal Glory. That is what awaits the student who wins the Triwizard Tournament" Dumbledore stated, "But to do this, that student must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks"
Theo scoffed, "Classic Hogwarts."
"The deathtrap for kids," Blaise added, his friends nodded in agreement.
"For this reason, the Ministry has seen fit to impose a new rule" Dumbledore continued, "To explain all this, we have the head of the Department of National Magical Cooperation, Mr Bartemius Crouch."
And with that, the starry night ceiling vanished and was instantly replaced with clapping thunder, dark clouds and rain.
Students screamed at the loud noise but soon stopped as the sky returned to normal.
But a rugged man appeared, standing by the back door, soaked in rain. He had dirty blonde long hair and an ageing face. His eyes were the most shocking feature. One was small and dark while the other was a vivid, electric blue magical eye that moved around erratically from his normal eye.
"It's Mad-Eye Moody," Blaise whispered.
"Who?" Theo asked, not paying attention as he just wanted to eat his food and not deal with all these new people that he was going to be surrounded by the rest of the year.
"Alastor Moody, The Auror" Artemis explained, "also known as a dark Wizard Catcher. Half the cells in Azkaban are filled because of him."
"He's supposed to be mad as a hatter, though, these days" Draco whispered, "I don't like him."
"You don't like anyone."
"I like you."
Artemis playfully rolled her eyes, "Obviously." they both chuckled, but she quickly noticed how the Auror was staring directly at Harry. That's odd.
"My dear old friend, thanks for coming," Dumbledore welcomed him warmly.
"Stupid ceiling" Moody chuckled, then He hastily took a swig of liquid from his flask.
"Is that alcohol?" Daphne wondered aloud.
"You would need some to work in this school," Theo replied.
"Definitely," the cousins said simultaneously.
"After due consideration, the Ministry has concluded that for their own safety no student
under the age of seventeen, should be allowed to put forth their name for the Triwizard
Tournament," Barty Crouch Senior explained.
Which caused an uproar.
"What!?"
"That's rubbish!"
"Change it!"
Most of the yelling came from Theo, Blaise, and the Weasley Twins.
Theo was only pretending to care, so he could shout and cause a little chaos.
The pureblood witches paid no mind to the complaints, as they were just glad that no one from their year was guaranteed to die.
Hopefully.
Dumbledore brought down the golden tower, revealing a huge goblet, bright blue flames circled the top.
"The Goblet of Fire, anyone wishing to submit themselves to the tournament, need only write their name upon a piece of parchment and throw it in the flame before this hour on Thursday night" Dumbledore explained lowly, "And if chosen, there's no turning back. The Triwizard Tournament has begun" he ominously spoke, "Now, off to bed everyone, have a good night" he smiled widely.
As everyone exited the hall, Artemis tried to ignore the eerie feeling that engulfed her body, but she couldn't help but feel like something bad was coming.

Thursday, September 4th:
DADA CLASSROOM:
Yet another year where Artemis' favourite Professor was not picked to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts.
She felt like something was off about that, but luckily he continued to be their potions teacher.
When the pureblood 5's entered the classroom, they all sat near the front for once, intrigued to find out what they were learning.
Gregory sat next to Draco, much to his annoyance. Artemis sat next to Daphne, leaving Theo to sit next to Blaise. They all sat behind each other, bored, waiting for the lesson to start.
"Alastor Moody, ex-Auror, Ministry malcontent, and your new defence against the dark arts teacher," Moody stated," I am here because Dumbledore asks me. End of story, goodbye, the end. Any questions?" He was met with silence, "When it comes to the dark arts, I believe in a practical approach. But first, which of you can tell me how many Unforgivable Curses there are?" he asked.
"Three," Artemis said, locking eyes with the erratic man.
He nodded stiffly as he stared at her, longer than he should've.
"And they are so named?" Moody asked, then started to write on the board.
"Because they are unforgivable! The use of any one of them will-" Hermoine blurted out, but she was quickly cut off by the Professor.
"Will earn you a one-way ticket to Azkaban, correct" Moody Interrupted. "Now the Ministry says you're too young to see what these curses do. I say different!" He said, raising his voice slightly, "You need to know what you're up against! You need to be prepared! You need to find another place to put your chewing gum beside the underside of your desk Mr Finnigan!" He shouted, facing the board.
Everyone turned around to look at the boy in question.
"No way. The old codger can see out of the back of his head" Seamus complained and then recieved a piece of chalk to the face from the man.
"And hear across classrooms!" Moody shouted and continued his lesson, "So, which curse shall we see first?" he questioned ecstatically, "Weasley!"
"Yes," Ron responded quickly yet nervously.
"Stand. Give us a curse."
The boy complied, "Well...my dad did tell me about one, the Imperius Curse."
"Oh yeah, your father would know all about that. Gave the Ministry quite a bit of grief a few years ago." He then walked over to his desk, "Perhaps this will show you why" he said with a ghost of a smirk, pulling out a spider out of a glass jar. "Engorgio" he muttered and the Arachnid grew larger.
The class inched backwards, apprehensive by the mad man's action.
"Imperio!" Suddenly the spider acted on his command Flying on people's heads and hands. Dancing around the room.
Draco laughed loudly, attracting the attention of the professor.
"What are you laughing at?" Moody asked rhetorically, and he flung the spider onto the Malfoy wizard's face, causing him to scream in distress.
Gregory quickly smacked it away, but Theo, Blaise and Daphne continued to laugh quietly at the boy.
Artemis continued to watch the professor in anticipation, wondering what he was going to do next.
"Ok then. what should I make her do?" Moody was clearly enjoying his control a little too much. "Jump out the window! Drown herself?" He muttered as he bought the spider back onto his hand "Scores of witches and wizards claim that they only did You-Know-Who's bidding under the influence of the Imperius Curse."
Draco rolled his eyes, knowing that he was indirecting his father.
Artemis knew that there was something off about the man and it wasn't just his independent eye.
"But here the rub: How do we sort out the liars," The Professor added, sparing a look at the Malfoy wizard, "Another" he mumbled and Neville shakily rose his hand.
"Longbottom is it?" Moody asked the nervous boy, "Professor Sprout tells me you have an aptitude for Herbology."
"There's the um...the Cruciatus Curse." Neville stuttered, exchanging a look with the Seramore girl.
Artemis shifted uncomfortably in her seat as did Draco and Blaise.
They all knew it was the curse that ultimately killed her father and drove Neville's parents to Lunacy.
"Correct! Come!" Moody excitedly spoke, directing Longbottom to his desk and placing the spider down "The torture curse" Moody said, malice flashing across his eyes, "Crucio!" suddenly the spider squirmed and shrieked in pain, "the spell so powerful that not even the late great wizard Ezekial Seramore could survive it."
Artemis for once looked down, feeling her eyes water, she didn't want anyone to think she was weak. She kept telling herself to keep calm but images of her father lying lifeless in the snow clouded her mind.
She felt Daphne grab her hand, whilst Blaise, Theo and Draco glared at the Professor.
Calm down, Artemis told herself, don't cry.
Harry stared at her with a pitiful look, remembering what she had told him the year before in the library, during the tutoring session.
She was broken out of her sullen mood, when, Hermoine started shouting, "Stop it! Can't, you see it's bothering him! Stop It!"
Neville was frozen in fear, his lip quivered, and he couldn't look away from the spider.
Moody stopped the spell and stared directly at the Longbottom boy, "Um. would you like to tell me the last curse, Ms Granger?" He asked.
She shook her head, with teary eyes, he then placed the spider on her book.
"Ah," said Moody, another slight smile twisting his lopsided mouth."'Yes, the last and worst. Avada Kedavra ... the killing curse." He uttered, "'Avada Kedavra," Moody roared, causing a flash of blinding green light and a rushing sound, as though a vast, invisible something was soaring through the air, instantaneously the spider rolled over onto its back, unmarked, but unmistakably dead.
Several students sniffled and concealed their fear and sadness.
Moody swept the dead spider off the desk onto the floor, "Not nice," he spoke calmly, "Not pleasant. And there's no counter-curse. There's no blocking it. Only one known person has ever survived it, and he's sitting right in front of me."
His eyes trailed over to Harry, whose face reddened under everyone's gaze.
Moody took another swig of liquid from his flask, gasping in slight pain as he gulped it down.
"Class dismissed,"
The class slowly gets up, alarmed and ultimately afraid.
***
Artemis needed some space, she assured her group that she would be okay by herself, she felt like she just wanted to walk alone.
Luckily the sun was still shining, so she could walk without fear.
Mad-eye Moody's words still spun in her mind.
Why he would mention her father?
What is wrong with him?
What was he drinking?
Her body remained tense as wondered about the halls of the school, she needed to find a secluded room, and the moment she did, she came face to face with Neville Longbottom.
It was clear he had been crying, his eyes were bloodshot and his hair was a mess.
"Hey Artemis," he croaked out, as she stepped into the room and softly shut the door, "I can leave if you want."
She shook her head, "you can stay," she spoke softly, "Neville if you need to talk, I'm here."
She didn't like many people, but Nevile was alright in her books.
Her unexpected words warmed his heart, "T-thank you Artemis." he stammered out, and they both sat opposite one another, "I'm sorry you had to see that as well."
He knew that her father died horrifically, and he sometimes wondered if it would be better to put his parents out of their misery or allow them to leave their struggling lives.
"Thank you," she offered him a small smile, "and if you ever feel like your panicking again, I have a spell if you want it." she offered.
She motioned for him to take out a parchment, he did and gave her a small quill.
She wrote down his newly found spell and handed it over to him.
He laughed in disbelief, "Honestly Artemis I don't know how your mind comes up with them."
She shrugged innocently and got up, "Use it whenever you need to okay, but just keep it to yourself."
He folded up the parchment, and charmed it, so no one but him could open it, he placed it in his bag as well as his quill, "I will. I promise."
She waved him goodbye as she stepped out of the room, but quickly regretted leaving as she saw who approached her.
Dumbledore smiled down at the girl, "Ah, Artemis, what are you doing on this side of the building child?"
She clenched her fist at the pet name, "Boredom." she bluntly said and his smile didn't falter.
"I can't imagine a child like you getting bored," he spoke tilting his head to the side.
She nodded slowly, "Right, anyway-"
Just before she turned away, his words brought her to a halt, "You're a lot like your father in that aspect." her head snapped towards him, "Yes I remember teaching him years ago."
He looked up, almost as if he were reminiscing.
Her mind was running on overdrive, "Great." she said through clenched teeth.
"Have a nice day Artemis," he smiled, "let your mind run wild and free," he said as he walked in the opposite direction, leaving her to her thoughts.
She shook her head, as she watched her headmaster skip away, "What the fuck?"
