DADA CLASSROOM:

Sirius Black had attacked the fat lady.

The entire castle was shaken in fear. Everyone had to sleep in the great hall, much to everyone's discomfort.

Artemis believed it was calculated, especially since he did it on the night of Halloween.

The escapee had made his way through the castle when most of the third years took their first trip to Hogsmeade.

During that day the Seramore witch spent their trip with her group, she ignored the longing looks she would get from Draco, especially since he had Pansy close by.

After the conversation with her cousin she just continued to ignore the Malfoy wizard, knowing that if she gave him the reaction he sought, it would only feed his ego, which she didn't want.

Call it petty, but she wanted to act like he didn't exist, she needed to act like he didn't exist or she would easily give in to his idiotic tactics, after all, it had been 2 months since she had spoken to him.

This is why Artemis sat with Daphne, in front of Theo and Blaise and behind Draco and Gregory during their defence of the dark arts lesson.

The Seramore witch tried to not laugh as she and her best friend continued to kick the two boys' chairs, knowing they were getting angrier.

Before Draco and Gregory turned around to chastise the girls, the door quickly slammed open, revealing Professor snape who hastily made his way to the front of the classroom.

He flicked his wand as he did so, the windows shut and the curtains kissed one another as the light was extracted from the room. 'Turn to page 394," he said boredly.

Artemis grinned, even though she wasn't expecting him to be teaching their class, but she was curious about the whereabouts of their actual professor.

Harry then decided to speak up, "Excuse me sir, but where Professor Lupin," most of his house made a noise of agreement.

"That's not really your concern, is it Potter?" Professor Snape sneered walking up to the boy, "Suffice it to say that your professor finds himself incapable of teaching at the present time, turn to page 394," he then made his way to the front of the classroom presenting what they would be learning.

"Werewolves?" Ron asked as the rest of the class tried to find the page.

"Fun," Artemis squealed in her seat, resulting in laughs from the side of her house. She knew that they were off-topic, but she liked learning about other supernaturals.

She couldn't see the smile that etched its way onto Draco's face, delighted to hear how happy she was.

However some were unimpressed that they were studying something else, especially the Granger witch, who suddenly appeared next to Harry, "But sir! We've just begun learning about Red Caps and hinkypunks! We're not meant to start nocturnal beasts for a week!" she complained.

Her two best friends were confused by her sudden appearance, "When did she come in? Did you see her come in?" Ron whispered to Harry.

Professor Snape ignored her comment, "Which one can tell me the difference between an Animagus and a werewolf?" he asked, Hermoine's hand shot up. "No one?" he asked purposefully repeated, wanting to ignore her hand. "How disappointing."

Artemis lazily raised hers as a quick social experiment, his gaze drifted to her, "Ms Seramore?" she went to speak up but was cut off by the Gryffindor witch causing her to grit her teeth.

"Please sir," Hermione started, "An Animagus is a witch or wizard who elects to turn into an animal, a werewolf has no choice. With each full moon when he no longer remembers who he is, he'd kill his best friend if he'd crossed his path. Furthermore, the werewolf only responds to a call of his own kind" she explained.

"AWOOO" Draco howled, making some of his housemates laugh and suddenly waking up Theo who had been sleeping next to Blaise the entire time.

Artemis scoffed and narrowed her eyes at the Gryffindor girl, "Correct me if I'm wrong but your last name isn't Seramore." she was met with a glare.

"Thank you, Mr Malfoy" Snape rolled his eyes at Draco, then turned to Hermione, "Miss Seramore is correct. That is the second time you've spoken out of class Ms Granger, are you incapable of restraining yourself or do you take pride in being an insufferable know-it-all?" he said making the shrink back into her seat causing Artemis to smirk.

"You asked us a question and she knows the answer! Why ask if you don't want to be told?" the Weasley boy boldly asked, wanting to stick up for his friend.

"I know your head is all scrambled from being up the chosen one's arse all year round Ronald but he called on Artemis, not your bushy-haired sidekick, " Daphne replied spitefully, resulting in laughs from the Slytherin students and a low high five from her best friend.

"That was hot," Blaise mumbled making his girlfriend turn around and shoot him a wink. Theo playfully nudged him, causing a mini fight between the two.

Professor Snape ignored them and glared directly at the red-haired boy, "Detention Weasley, and if I ever hear you criticize the way I teach a class again, you will be very sorry indeed."

Artemis and Hermione continued to glare at one another, as did Daphne and Ron until Blaise got involved and shut it down.

For the rest of the duration of the lesson, most of the students were quiet, except for the occasional snigger, giggle or whisper, making Professor Snape yell in annoyance, "quiet!", he then turned towards some of the Hufflepuff students, "Five points from Hufflepuff Ms Abbot and Mr Macmillan."

From in front of Artemis, Draco started scribbling on a small parchment, drawing a moving picture of Harry being struck by lightning, quickly adding a quaffle hitting his head.

He was aware of the Quidditch match taking place tomorrow, he didn't care much for the Hufflepuff's but he definitely didn't want Gryffindor to win.

Gregory laughed along with him as he performed a charm, turning the parchment into a bird, before blowing it towards Harry.

"As an antidote to your ignorance, and on my desk by Monday morning, two rolls of parchment on the werewolf with particular emphasis on recognizing it" Snape explained, the students groaned and complained.

Theo leaned forward and nudged the two girls, "Are you doing it tonight?" they both turned around.

Artemis sighed, "You aren't copying me." her eyes darted between the boys.

"Yes, we are." he and Blaise said in unison as they chuckled.

"Lazy bastards." Daphne shook her head at them, she felt a smile tug at her lips.

Blaise shot her a wink, "You love me." she turned around due to the blush she felt appearing on her face.

Their little conversation was cut short, due to Harry raising his hand, "But sir it's Quidditch tomorrow," he complained to Professor Snape.

The raven-haired man's expression remained stoic as he turned to look at him, "Then I suggest you take extra care, Mr Potter, loss of a limb will not excuse you, page 394," he flicked his wand again causing Harry's book to change to the exact page.

The Potter boy begin to sulk as the charmed bird made its way towards him, he opened it up and saw the animated drawing, he then turned towards Draco who was sneering at him along with Gregory.

Neither of them saw the odd expression that made its way onto Artemis' face.

GREAT HALL:

Artemis sat with her cousin, Theo and Daphne in the great hall, eating away at the breakfast laid out in front of them.

They kept their voices low, so the onlookers and eavesdroppers wouldn't know what they were talking about.

Blaise had his arm wrapped around his girlfriend, while she was feeding him a slice of toast, the couple had been more open with their affection, ever since they had been given Artemis' blessing.

Some of their peers were disappointed that the two were together, especially since they could no longer flirt with the Zabini wizard, not like he was giving them that much attention anyway.

The two were smitten and it was clear to everyone around them, that they were in a little lovesick bubble that no one could penetrate.

After all, Artemis had seen her cousin on multiple occasions take off his girlfriend's make-up whenever she was feeling tired, the sight warmed her heart, even though she fake gagged when she witnessed it.

The couple continued giggling as they fed each other their breakfast.

"This is disgusting," Theo commented with a look of horror, he hadn't even bothered eating any of his food, which was uncommon for him.

His appetite was none existent recently and his closest friends have been worried. It's not like he didn't want to eat, he just felt too stressed to even think about stomaching anything.

Although he didn't want to admit it, he missed Draco and the drift in the group had impacted him differently from everyone else.

"I know," Artemis nodded along, as she pushed around the scrambled eggs that filled her plate with a fork.

She was very happy for the two, although they were a sickening sight to watch, especially if they were in public.

But Blaise and Daphne were happy and that all mattered to her.

The curly-haired boy nudged her and slumped backwards, "Now you know how I've felt these last two years."

She scoffed, "Well you don't have to worry about that anymore." she said bluntly and went back to eating her food. She also noticed that Theo was not eating a thing, making her think back to the words her cousin spoke to her in Mente Strae.

He narrowed his eyes at her, "Sure, because that will last so long." Theo knew that it won't be long until Draco wormed his way back into her heart and the rest of their groups.

He missed irritating the boy, he missed his company and most of all he missed him.

"I'm avoiding him." Artemis glanced at him and continued to eat her food.

Theo scoffed, "How's that working out, considering his glaring holes into the back of all our heads right now." his words caught the attention of the couple, they all turned to look at a scowling Draco.

He was situated between his two goons. Pansy sat opposite him with Millicent glued to her side. They all sat quite far away from the rest of their peers.

Draco's eyes stayed on the Seramore witch until they darted around his old friends and then looked back down at his food.

Artemis blicked slowly, "Out of sight out of mind," her voice made her friends chuckle as they turned back to look at her.

"Sure Temi, because that's going so fucking well," Theo huffed then folded his arms.

Blaise shot him a worried look, to which he waved off. Daphne offered the boy some food, with a bright smile on her face, he begrudgingly took it and mirrored her expression, although they all noticed it was forced.

"Why are you so cranky right now?" Artemis then glanced at his plate full of food that was clearly untouched, "why haven't you eaten anything?"

"I ate before."

She went to respond, but her cousin cut her off, "You haven't T and gummy worms in our dormitory don't count."

"They do because it's food."

Daphne decided to speak up, "Just take one bite T," he watched as she pouted and push the plate of buttered toast, "please."

They all watched closely as he picked a piece of toast and took a bite, his stomach wailed, which only urged him to eat more, he complied immediately and devoured the rest of the piece.

"Are you guys happy?" he asked them as he slowly picked up more.

"Yes," they responded with a chuckle.

"How's the business guys?" Artemis asked in a hushed voice, luckily most of their housemates have left to go and study, so the table was no longer full.

The boys shared an excited look, "It's going well, especially with the amazing ideas that you two," Blaise grinned as he motioned between the two witches, "gave us," he threw his arm around his girlfriend.

"Your welcome," the witches replied in unison.

"Plus we've made a lot so far," he added.

Theo hummed, "We just need to split the profits."

They were at least 11 people involved in their little operation, including their group.

Artemis spoke to the Dons during the meetings about their involvement in the Divinity group as well as other issues, especially about the Sirius black incident. They all made sure that the girls from the houses are accommodated at the end of each night, just in case they were attacked back the escapee.

Whereas Theo and Blaise had talked to the Iziah, Zacharias, the Weasley twins and Lee.

"I can help with that." Daphne exclaimed shocking Theo and Artemis, "what? I'm good with numbers." she shrugged.

"She is," Blaise said in a slight daze as he grinned down at her.

The Nott wizard fake gagged, "Disgusting."

"Agreed," Artemis added with a teasing smile, the couple flipped them off, before they all started to laugh.

The Seramore witch slowly got up from her chair, many heads turned to stare at her as she readjusted her outfit.

Her eyes zoomed into the group of 4th-year Hufflepuffs that were about to exit the room.

"Where are you going?" Blaise questioned, his girlfriend was also startled by her best friend's sudden departure.

Artemis fake gasped and placed a hand on her heart, "Oh so now you guys see us." she gestured between herself and a smirking Theo.

She was surprised they even noticed she was leaving.

"Sorry." Daphne looked away, feeling flushed by the comment, her boyfriend pressed a kiss to her forehead.

"Calm down drama queens." Blaise waved them off, before his gaze settled on his cousin, "but seriously where are you going?"

"To say hello to our business partners." she nodded to the group of Hufflepuffs that was grinning at her, "and they have a quidditch match against the Gryffindorks so..." she trailed off as she started to walk away.

"Oh, your boyfriends." Theo joked, remembering how Iziah acted anytime he or Blaise would mention her name.

She hastily nudged him, "Oh shut up." they watched as she made her way across the hall.

Blaise turned back to his girlfriend, "Sweetheart, could you pass me the croissants." butterflies took flight in her stomach and her cheeks turned a deep shade of red, she loved his pet names for her. She quickly passed him some pastries, "thank you."

"I might as well throw up my food." The Nott wizard threw his arms up in annoyance.

"Shut up T."

Artemis manoeuvred through the great hall, ignoring the stares she received from her counterparts, especially the grey eyes that had been on her since she entered the room.

She knew that he had wanted to ask why she was making her way outside the great hall, with a small group of Hufflepuff boys.

The sight made Draco's blood boil, especially since Blaise wasn't stopping it from happening.

As soon as she got outside she was met with two smiling Hufflepuffs, who stood in their were Quidditch attire.

"So is the princess supporting us?" the blue-eyed boy teased. Cedric hadn't seen much of the girl recently, but he knew that she had been getting along with some of his housemates, which surprised him.

Seramores and Hufflepuffs had never been seen together, not on purpose, but it wasn't unheard of.

She shrugged, "Maybe." she rolled her eyes at the heated stare she received from Cassius Warrington who walked past her.

"Aww, that's so sweet." the boys laughed.

"Calm down, you're just lucky it's only Gryffindor and not Slytherin." she knew that she had a few matches soon, she couldn't wait to unload her anger onto her opponents.

Zacharias chuckled, "What? Are you scared that we're coming for your title?"

Slytherin had won both the house cup as well as the Quidditch cup for years now and many feared it would stay that way.

"Never." a small smirk appeared on her face.

"Sure princess," Cedric playfully scoffed,  "well we best be off," he placed his arm around his friend's neck, "come along Zach."

"Bye Artemis." Zacharias waved her goodbye.

"Bye Zach, Diggory." she grinned at the faux frown that appeared on the blue-eyed boy's face.

"Cedric." he corrected her.

She shook her head mockingly, "Nope, It's Diggory for now."

"You break my heart princess you really do." he placed his hand against his chest, all three of them laughed.

She went to reply, but the young Jones brother approached the trio.

"Aww, is she breaking your heart too, I thought it was just me." Iziah had overheard most of the conversation without meaning to.

He had been on his way to watch the quidditch match before he ran into them.

She playfully rolled her eyes, when she saw the amused expression on his face, "Yeah, I don't limit my malignity to just one person."

He quirked up an eyebrow, "If only you did, brown eyes." the look he gave her caused heat to spread to her cheeks.

Thank god im black she thought, "Yeah yeah," she waved him off and then turned back to the two Quidditch players, "good luck today."

"Thank you." Cedric and Zacharias both responded in unison and walked away, feeling suffocated by the tension they were surrounded by.

The boys failed to notice the pair of grey eyes that had been on them, during the entire conversation, but the youngest Jones brother didn't.

"Bye iziah." she went to wave him off but he offered her a hug, she narrowed her eyes at him before letting him embrace her.

The smell of lemons and tea tree oil invaded her senses.

"Bye brown eyes." He muttered against her head, his eyes were staring directly into Draco's as a smirk appeared on his face.

As she pulled away and walked in the direction of her common room, the two wizards, kept their gazes on her, before glaring at one another.

Game on.

Monday, November 29th:

MENTE STRAE:

The Quidditch Match went horribly.

Draco, Greggory and Vincent thought by dressing up as Dementors and attempting to scare Harry would work in their favour, but all it caused was the chosen one passing out, Cedric being hospitalised for a while and the three culprits receiving detention for a week.

Artemis thought the whole idea was stupid and they would've gotten away with it if they had her guidance but they didn't.

She made sure that the Diggory wizard was okay, he only suffered minor head trauma and since her healing wasn't too advanced, he had to stay in the infirmary for a week.

Since then Draco had been trying to talk to Artemis, whether it was during their lessons or Quidditch training, but his efforts have been proven futile.

So when Blaise reluctantly invited the boy to his birthday celebration, he stayed quiet the time only observing the change in their dynamics.

The newly turned 14-year-old chose to spend his birthday in the common room, wanting to have everyone's attention.

It was a joyous day, games were played, food and other treats were consumed by most of the students and even professor Snape made a small appearance, awarding the birthday boy with a few house points before disappearing.

The Malfoy wizard gifted his lifelong friend with more clothes and aftershave, to which Blaise accepted with a small smile.

So since then he had been talking to him and Theo a little more, especially since they were also his dorm mates.

Draco also managed to rope them in on some elaborate plan to get Artemis to talk to him, he had convinced the two wizards that it would be a good idea to have him and the witch alone in Mente Strae.

So currently Artemis was standing opposite the Malfoy wizard with a scowl etched onto her face, whilst Draco's left cheek was burning from the slap she had just given him.

"Arty," he went to reach for her but she had pushed him back, not wanting to be close after his most recent actions.

"What?" she snapped, making him flinch.

He had never seen her so angry before, it honestly frightened him.

He rubbed over his sore face, "So what, I can't kiss you?" he looked at her in disbelief.

His grand plan was stupid, to say the least in her eyes because kissing her wouldn't make up for anything, therefore her hand met his face.

She didn't want to lay her hands on him, but since he was acting on impulse, so was she.

She huffed out a laugh and took a step back, "You didn't honestly believe a kiss would solve anything did you?" she narrowed her eyes onto his.

The same grey eyes that she missed and have been missing for a while. The same eyes she loved getting lost in, brought her comfort and familiarity, but now she was starting to loathe them.

He ran his hands over his face, "I-i thought it would be a start." he stammered, looking away from her darkened gaze.

"You're such an idiot." her glare only hardened, how did he think that would work, "Makes sense as to why I heard Granger punched you." she sneered, starling him.

She heard about the incident from the Weasley twins, who were told about it by their younger brother.

To be honest she did think the slap was deserved, especially since Draco was only planning to get Buckbeak killed because of his foolishness. The creature was kind, a little bit eccentric, but kind overall, therefore it didn't deserve to be put down in her eyes.

He scoffed and stepped closer, "Drop the attitude." How dare she? A mudblood slapped me and she's taking her side.

"You can't tell me what to do," she shook her head, "you honestly think you can come in here and think everything would be solved?" she tilted her head eyeing him up and down.

She noticed that his nails were jagged due to what she assumed was because of his anxiety and stress, she had to stop herself from caring or feeling bad for him.

Because he was the author of his own pain.

"What do you want me to do then?" he stressed, gulping down the last of his pride,  "what can I do to make you forgive me?" he stepped closer, ending up directly in front of her body, which was pressed up against one of the vacant tables.

Luckily Blaise and Theo had gotten rid of the last of their 'plants' and had already placed them into different baked goods, which they stored in a top-secret hiding place.

...a hiding place that no one knew about apart from them.

She looked away as she pondered her words, "Apologise to the boys." she spoke up.

His face scrunched up, "What?" he looked down at her, trying to bask in her presence, her scent, her everything, before she would move away.

Coconut and apple body scrub invaded his nostrils.

Her hair was neatly placed in a low bun, small baby hairs escaped its tight grasp. Her lips were coated in a thin layer of gloss, he struggled not to attempt to kiss them again, knowing it would only frustrate her more.

Her lips were softer, more smooth and plump compared to Pansy's, something he had yearned for since the end of the second year, or even longer.

He knew it was wrong to kiss her, but he wasn't thinking, he rarely did recently.

"Apologise to all of us," she proposed, knowing that was the only solution,  "especially Blaise and Theo."

She knew Daphne missed Draco's company, but she didn't deem it vital to her existence, however, the blonde noticed how badly it impacted the rest of her friends, especially her boyfriend, so she took all of Draco's misdeeds personally.

"They seem fine," he muttered, attempting to ignore the pang that shot through his chest.

Each time he would enter his dorm, the cold atmosphere would slap him in the face, humble and remind him of his sins, his neglect and the angst he directed at his close confidants.

He was wrong for choosing pride over loyalty, but he believed that was his only course of action.

The promise he made with Blaise in the presence of his godfather, not long ago itched at his subconscious,

'Promise that you'll always have each other's back.'

Draco broke that promise, he knew that and he knew that Blaise did too.

But nothing was the same, especially not their relationship.

"You know they don't." she scoffed and looked down,  "Theo's diet is off and Blaise is more snappy," she emphasised her words, determined to stress how important he says sorry to them.

Lucky Theo had been eating a lot more recently, balancing out his binging with flying lessons, but it still worried his friends.

Blaise's anger had been threatening to boil over, almost having another altercation with Cassius Warrington because of how long he was staring at his cousin yesterday.

"I didn't realise." Draco panicked, blinking harshly, "maybe because I haven't spoken to you for 2 months." he threw his hands up.

She laugh bitterly, "first of all, you definitely noticed the change in how they were acting, because they are your best friends or at least were." he clenched his jaw, "and secondly, stop blaming me for things that aren't my fault, take responsibility for your actions, or do you just care about yourself now?"

He towered over her, "You know I don't. I think about you all." he gritted out, almost like her accusation caused him physical pain.

"Your recent actions have made that so clear."

"And what about your recent actions?"

She rolled her eyes, "What are you on about?"

He glowered down at her, "Not even just you, Blaise Theo, Daphne." he listed, but her face remained stoic, "all of you guys sneaking around, speaking to people who are our enemies."

She laughed, like she let out a genuine laugh, shocking and angering him further, "You've lost it." she shook her head as she tried to stop her laughter, "are you forgetting that our enemies aren't the same as yours," she spat out, but a menacing smile stayed on her face.

He looked away, knowing who she was directing, he tried to not think about the guilt that he still felt after the incident in the library, he deeply regretted it, but his actions didn't show it.

"Dont try and trick me," he clenched his fist,  "you are all up to something-"

"You would know what it was if you didn't make one mistake after another." she exclaimed, "Merlin, I can't believe we were ever best friends." she blurted out, shocking them both. She covered her mouth with her hand.

Did I mean that? She thought.

His eyes pooled with tears, "You don't mean that" his voice cracked, she's only lying, right?

"I do," she choked back a sob, her emotionless facade faded away,  "because you've hurt me, You've hurt blaise so much and you don't care." a lonely tear trickled down her face, dripping onto her uniform.

He sniffled, "He's my brother, you know I love him and I do care." he fiddled with one of the rings that sat on his fingers, not even realising she had been doing the same with hers.

"Then why aren't you acting like it then?" she started up at him with a tearful expression, her lip quivered.

He cupped her face and surprisingly she didn't move away, "How can I explain why none of you are speaking to me."

"We want to but you making it so fucking hard." she muttered, trying to stop more tears to flow down her face, "My God, you're so infuriating."

"And what do you think you are to me?"

"Judging by the way you've been acting, I'm nothing to you." she moved away from him, he dropped his hands and moved away from her.

She thought back to words her mother used to say, 'when people show you who they are, believe them'.

"You don't mean that." he harshly wiped away his tears as his chest heaved up and down. She means everything to me.

She nodded stiffly and manoeuvred around him, "I do, so just leave me alone, until you figure out how to apologize properly." she went to walk up to the door, but he gently grabbed onto her hand, before she could leave.

"Arty.." he pleaded, she stared down at their intertwined hands with glossy eyes.

Their hands fit together perfectly, but they were no longer in the perfect scenario.

"No, just don't." she pulled out of his grasp and slipped out of the door, leaving him to look down in sorrow.

His fingers traced over the ring he gifted him for his 12th birthday, he knew that was more than just a piece of jewellery, it meant something.

Artemis was his family... forever and there was nothing that would change that in his eyes.

He felt sorry and ashamed, not just to his best friends, but to his godfather that was no longer alive, he wanted to make it up to not just him, but to them all.

But he had no clue how to do that.

He didn't want to leave Artemis alone.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder... or forgetful. well, that's what peter pan would say.

But they weren't in a fairytale, they were in a revolution.

also just to specify, theo doesn't have an eating disorder or everything extreme. he's just very stressed because of the drama within his friendship group, therefore he's eating less food, not on purpose. if anyone feels triggered by this, or relates to this in any way, I'll put a warning at the beginning of the chapter.

ik a lot of you are angry at draco, I don't blame you, he's going about the situation in the worst way possible.

he talked the boys into helping him with the plan, none of them knew how bad it would backfire.

what do you think of artemis x hufflepuffs?

the way I almost forgot to add in the lesson when I was writing.
