QUIDDITCH PITCH:

It was Artemis' first flying lesson with Madame Hooch today. Draco was also in her lesson, but sadly so was Pansy Parkinson, she would undoubtedly try and flirt with Draco. Theo, Blaise, and Daphne all were in their muggle studies class.

Even though she was happy that she had her flying lessons with Draco, she had gotten an earful from him a couple of days before.

Blaise had let it slip that she may or may not have held hands with a certain Nott wizard.

And to say Draco was angry was an understatement, he almost fought with Theo when he got back to the common room, Blaise get in between the two boys before anything could happen.

The girls sat near the altercation, trying not to laugh. Artemis got involved by shouting at the Malfoy wizard, stating that she doesn't need his permission to do anything.

He shut up when he caught her enraged look. She made him apologize to Theo, even though the apology didn't sound sincere, Theo still accepted it, although he wished he didn't because he wanted to see Draco moping around for Artemis' forgiveness a little longer.

Artemis scolded her cousin for causing this mess as well, but he convinced her that it was a mistake. She didn't forgive him at first, but he twisted her leg with a bag full of chocolate frogs.

Safe to say that Blaise would keep his mouth shut in the future and Draco wouldn't try and be so possessive over his best friend...for now.

The Seramore witch and Malfoy wizard stood next to one another on the green field. She could feel the excited energy that was coming off her friend, Draco didn't stop talking about how happy he was all morning for this lesson.

Artemis had to calm him down or he would have talked her ears off.

"Welcome to your first flying lesson" Madame Hooch begins, "well what are you waiting for? everyone step up to the left side of your broomstick, stick your right hand over the broom, and say up."

"UP,"  Artemis says confidently, her  broom quickly flies into her hand like a magnet.

It wasn't the first time she had practiced flying, she quite enjoyed it. She rode all the time with Draco when she was at his manor.

She didn't care if it was supposedly unladylike, nor did her mother, which is why Celeste would sometimes take her out flying during the night when she couldn't sleep or they just wanted to stay up.

Artemis looked at Draco who also gets it on the first try, they share a smile, and their smiles only get bigger as the students around them were still struggling to grab their brooms up.

Artemis had tried to conceal her expressions but she couldn't.

There was something about excelling at things, while others failed, which made Artemis  very happy, although she tried not to show it.

Draco shuffled closer to Artemis when Pansy tried getting his attention. The boy almost looked scared, he looked at Artemis with wide eyes that screamed, 'help me'.

Artemis got tired of almost being knocked over so she dragged him to the other side of her before his harassment could continue.

"Thank you Arty," he whispered, she winked back at him, making him blush.

Once the rest of the class got the hang of it, They mounted the brooms, however, only three students did it, and made it look effortless.

All of a sudden, there was commotion from the other side of the line, a student who Artemis recognised as Neville Longbottom started to float.

While everyone was trying to help him get back down, Draco and Pansy just laughed at the terrified boy. Artemis looked at the scene and quickly noticed that a small transparent sphere had dropped from his cloak.

A remembrall? Of course, this boy has one. Artemis thought.

The boy continued to struggle and started to fly away quickly. While Everyone was so concerned for his safety, Artemis nudged Draco and gestured in the direction of the fallen object, his smile gradually turning to a grin as he silently made his way towards it.

Neville gets stuck on a statue and then abruptly fell to the ground, which made a great cover for the Slytherin boy.

Madam Hooch quickly got him up and took him to the infirmary, due to his broken arm, but not before she threatened the class not to fly without her around.

Artemis quickly shares a look with Draco. He already had the stolen goods in his hands. He starts to chuck it about, making a scene and attracting the rest of the class.

Artemis groans, "Draco stop." she says through gritted teeth, but he only ignores her.

"Did you see his face?" he laughs, "Maybe if the fat lump had given this a squeeze, he would've remembered to fall on his fat arse" Draco teases as he throws the ball up and down making some students laugh.

And this is how we get caught. Artemis thought to herself.

"Give it here, Malfoy" Potter shouts, but not before sparing a look towards the Seramore witch, this didn't go unnoticed by her friend.

Draco narrows his eyes at the blue-eyed boy and mounts his broom, "No, I think I'll leave it somewhere for Longbottom to find" He says as he starts to fly away.  "How about on the roof?" He continues as he flies around the crowd of people and winks at his friend, who wears a blank look,  "What's the matter, Potter, bit beyond your reach?" Draco teases as he's in the air.

Should I laugh at this?

This isn't funny, right?

But it is though.

Bloody hell,  Draco can fly well.

Artemis' mind was consumed with thoughts.

Harry gives in to Draco's taunting and starts to mount his broom when he's around the crows of people, Granger tries to convince him not to, but he starts to fly away anyway.

Artemis locks eyes with the muggle-born witch who walks toward her, "shouldn't you try and stop this?"

Artemis gave her a skeptical look, "Why would I stop this?"

"Harry told me that Draco listens to you."

The Granger witch recalled when Harry told her and Ron what had happened in the robe store. It confused her to hear that another witch had that much influence over a Malfoy. But it started to make sense when she had found out that it was a Seramore.

This information had made Hermoine slightly more uncomfortable whenever she shared the vicinity of Artemis.

But she wasn't scared though, just uncomfortable.

"So? I'm not his mother, and neither of them will get into trouble for this."

Artemis already saw the looks that Harry received from Dumbledore when he had got into Gryffindor, it looked like he creamed his pants...

Or rags or whatever the headmaster thinks it's acceptable to wear out in public.

"How could you be so sure, you cant see into the future," Artemis gives her a pointed look, "wait you cant see into the future can you?" Hermoine asks in anticipation.

Can I?

If I could I would've seen this conversation happening and heavily avoided it. Artemis thought.

"Of course not, but I can see two things that are obvious to me, One Draco is a talented flier and by the looks of it so is your friend," she gestures to the two wizards in the sky, "and two, Harry is in Gryffindor, he won't get punished, he would more likely get rewarded for this, despite him going against what he was told." She steps closer to the muggle-born, close enough that she is invading her personal space,  "so no I can't stop this, but I will enjoy the show, and so should you."

And with that Hermoine huffs and makes her way back to Ron, the two start whispering, while looking at the Seramore girl, who is too focused on the sky to care about the glances she's receiving.

Artemis starts contemplating if she wanted to go up there and help Draco...

But nope, she wanted to see how this panned out.

Draco throws the little ball very far, hoping that it would fall, but sadly it doesn't and Harry catches it.

Everyone started to cheer for him as he settled on the ground, they all circled him.

Draco lands  and approaches his friend who was standing filing her nails, she looks up, brown eyes locking on grey, "did you like the show?" he says with a teasing grin.

She gives him a fake smile and hits the back of his head.

"Ow what was that for?" he tries soothing the sting at the back of his head.

"You know what that was for," she sticks her tongue out.

"It was just a bit of fun."

"Yeah yeah, now look." She gestures to Professor McGonagall, who looks like she has steam coming out of her ears as storms out of the castle.

"Harry Potter '' she shouts, "Come with me" a smile appears on Draco's face as the Potter wizard follows her into the castle.

Artemis hits him again, "I don't know why you're smiling, nothing is going to happen to him."

"Of course, something will happen, he will finally get some actual punishment" Draco smirks as they watch them walk away.

"Sure D and Aunt Lia's boyfriend will survive the year." she rolls her eyes.

He holds his hand out, "Fine 20 galleons that he gets detention."

They shake hands, "Okay 20 galleons, and just to let you know, you will get detention before he does, if not at the same time."

He links their arms, "Yeah yeah, let's go to the common room."

TRANSFIGURATION CLASSROOM:

Draco and Artemis were sitting in Transfiguration class, Artemis of course was trying to focus on the spells but stopped when she overheard something bittersweet.

"Harry made it on the Quidditch team." she heard Ron boast to the rest of the Gryffindors.

Artemis was not surprised, like when was she ever wrong.

"He's what!" Draco asks in disbelief, his grey eyes held so much anger, they almost turned black.

"Calm down D." she tried shushing him, but it was no good, the Weasley wizard already heard his outrage.

He turned to Draco with a smug look on his face.

Here we go.

"Harry's on the Quidditch team"  he bragged. "Youngest seeker in a century."

"Is that a shock to anyone though?" Artemis spoke for the first time catching everyone's attention,  "I mean he is the chosen one" her voice dripping with sarcasm, "it would've been a bigger shock if you got picked for the team Ronald." Slytherins started to laugh.

Draco's irritated mood falters at the scene.

"You know my name is  Ron," he spat.

She tilts her head, "You know I don't care right?"

"you -you- " his voice raises as he starts to get flustered, angered that people are still laughing at him.

She narrowed her eyes at the sidekick, "Go on, spell it out, take a breath Ronald." she says with false encouragement.

"You spiteful bit-" he goes to speak but is swiftly cut off.

"Mr. Weasley, language! Five points from Gryffindor " McGonagall scolds.

"Sorry professor"  he mumbles, going back to his work.

Draco laughs quietly, Artemis joins in "You still owe me 20 galleons."

He sighs, taking out the money, Artemis grins and places it in her pocket, "Oh shut up arty."

CHARMS CLASSROOM:

It's been over a month since the young Seramore witch started school. Despite studying a lot she still causes a lot of trouble.

She and her friends had hexed a lot of their classmates.

Artemis and Daphne were more subtle about it, whereas the boys were not.

Surprise surprise.

Draco had boasted about hexing Longbottom to his two goons, which attracted a lot of attention, the professors almost found out about it, but Artemis had used the counter curse on the scrawny boy before he could go to them.

He was grateful for being able to stand on two feet again. Professor Snape rewarded the Slytherin house with 50 points after that.

They had kept up their troublemaking for the rest of the month, but today was Halloween, so anything bad could happen.

But besides the horror that could potentially happen Artemis, Draco and Theo were walking  towards their charms class with Professor Flitwik.

"All I'm saying is how do you expect me to focus on my work when the man is that small? Arty, you're even taller than him." Draco says, resulting in his head getting smacked.

"I am not that short" she laughs, but Theo shakes his head in disagreement.

Theo laughs, "You're closer to his height than ours."

"I'm 5 foot, you guys aren't any taller."

She was right, the boys were 5 foot 4, and she was at least a foot taller than their professor.

He is a very short, dwarf-like man.

"We're getting there." They said simultaneously.

When they make their way into the lesson, Theo chooses his seat as far away from the Gryffindors, because he claims that he doesn't want his allergies to start acting up.

He even started sneezing when he walked past.

Draco and Artemis chose the seats next to him.

They get their wands out in preparation for the lesson.

Flitwick talks about the levitation charm they will be working on, and Draco notices an evil glint in Artemis' eye.

He turns  to her, "You're going to use this on Blaise aren't you?"

"Of course I am," she says with a wicked grin.

Theo nods, "Same so maybe he will find himself waking up with his body out the window." he smirks, they all laugh quietly.

They pick up their wands as instructed and begin to try out the charm.

"Wingardium LeviosA' " Draco says as the feather on his table stays still.

Theo tried the charm, the feather barely moved and just flipped about.

"Wingardium Leviosa '' Artemis says as her feather starts to follow her wand higher and higher, causing A few gasps can be heard from across the room. This attracts Flitwik, he claps when he sees her success.

But before he can praise the girl, a certain bushy-haired witch repeats the spell louder than Artemis, stealing the attention and placing it on her,   "See here everyone, Ms. Grangers did it!" Flitwick exclaims, immediately forgetting about the Slytherin girl.

Artemis looked over at Hermoine who had a smug look on her face, even the red-haired boy looked irritated by her presence.

Smart girl. Artemis thought.

Theo and Draco notice how quiet their friend has gotten. Draco saw how tight her jaw was clenched.

Artemis placed her wand back on the table, resulting in the feather falling slowly.

"That bloody Granger, always showing off" Draco complains.

"Gryffindorks" Theo says in disgust, shaking his head.

"Gryffindorks" Draco and Artemis repeated, making them all laugh.

"On the bright side, at least it's Halloween," Theo said, looking at both of them wiggling his eyebrows. "Anything could happen."

He wasn't wrong about that.

GREAT HALL:

It was finally dinner time, and since it was Halloween the dining hall was decorated with floating jack-o-lanterns. The beautiful night sky was replaced with thunder and clouds.

It made Artemis feel exhilarated.

Especially since she just used the levitating charm on Flitwik once class was over, due to him ignoring her earlier in the lesson.

She almost got scolded for it but then blamed it on her menstrual cycle.

His reaction was hilarious, his face turned as red as a strawberry, he nervously awarded her some house points, stating that it was courageous of her to come to class today.

Flitwik rushed out of the class all flustered.

Theo and Draco couldn't stop laughing since they hid behind the tables watching the whole scene pan out.

Blaise and Daphne were already at the table talking.

Not talking, flirting.

"Blaise no, your hands are not bigger than mine," Daphne tells Blaise.

"Don't lie Daph" her stomach flutters at the nickname, "raise your hand and you'll see."

They both raised their hands, the limbs were inches apart, Blaise kept skimming his past the blonds, she nervously gulped and pulled her hand away.

"See, I told you I was right," he said with a sly grin.

She hesitantly nodded and looked away, "You're right Blaise."

"What are you two talking about this time"

Theo says as Artemis and Draco sit opposite them.

The trio noticed the weird energy as they walked up.

"Hand sizes," Blaise says nonchalantly before digging into his food, Daphne nods and starts to eat as well.

"Mines the biggest here," Theo says. He didn't even care if he was wrong; he just wanted to start an argument.

Everyone looks at him, "Liar mine is bigger than all of yours." Draco reaches over and shoves his hand in Theo's face.

This caused a slight uproar at the table, they all started comparing hand sizes, each of them determined to claim the winning title.

They only stopped once grumbles erupting from their stomach caught their attention.

The food was purely sweets and other amazing treats.

They were getting spoiled and it was about time.

The group was engaged in their conversations when  all of a sudden Professor Quirrell ran into the hall in a panic. "TROLL IN THE DUNGEON" he screams. The hall went silent.

Where did he stutter go? Artemis thought ignoring his words.

"TROLL IN THE DUNGEON" everyone's eyes went wide as he repeated his words.

"Thought you ought to know" he whimpers as he faints.

The whole dining hall went crazy as everyone started running for the exit Everybody started to yell and run for the exit.

Artemis looks at her friends as they get up, "did you do it?" She started to get nervous.

Blaise shook his head, "No it wasn't me." even though he kind of wished it was

"Wasn't me." Daphne denied. When would she even have the time to do this?

"Me neither."  Theo and Draco panicked.

"Merlin's beard! well, it wasn't me." Artemis exclaimed.

They all screamed and  quickly placed their sweets back into their plates, well all apart from Blaise and Theo.

"SILENCE" Dumbledore shouts. "Now all prefects will lead their house to their dormitory quickly and calmly" he explains.

The Slytherin prefect led the Slytherin house towards their common rooms.

"Wait, our dorms are in the dungeons," Artemis shouted. Her usually guarded expression was full of rage.

"Where are we gonna go then" Theo shouts back,

They all look at her for an answer, "I have no idea" Artemis shouts back.

Are we going to die?

At 11?

"Hopefully the prefects will lead us somewhere else," Draco says, trying to be less pessimistic.

"They aren't stupid enough to lead us to the troll" Daphne adds. Trying to think of happy stuff.

"Come on everybody keep up!" the prefect says.

"I'm suddenly thinking we should've stayed in the dining hall," Blaise says with a nervous look on his face as they get closer to their common rooms.

Theo looks at him, "Me too mate."

The boys start getting closer, gripping on to one another, it almost looks like they were holding hands.

Daphne and Artemis link pinkies as they cautiously walk down the stairs.

As they all nervously walked back to their common room there were loud sounds, almost like footsteps, but not thankfully they were not coming from the Dungeons. And to their surprise, there was no troll in the dungeons.

Artemis sighed in relief as they entered the emerald green room. She looked at her friends who still wore scared looks. They all shared a tight embrace.

Despite not being in danger anymore, it was still a terrifying experience.

They did want something to happen tonight, but they didn't think something life-threatening would happen.

Perhaps this is what Artemis' dad referred to when he said that Hogwarts was going to be scary.

After their wholesome embrace, some of the other Slytherin students went to bed while the rest just stayed in the common room waiting  for confirmation that the troll was gone. So they could sleep in peace.

The group was all huddled up in the girl's room, the boys discovered that it was bigger than theirs. Draco and Artemis were sitting on her bed, while Blaise accompanied Daphne on hers.

Theo sat on the floor; more like laid on the floor, his body was full of fatigue; mind swarming of thoughts that they could've died, and considering they were brought towards the place where the troll could've been, it irritated him even more.

They heard a knock on the door, they all tensed, the boys weren't supposed to be in the girl's dormitory, but they all felt more comfortable in each other's company. Artemis left her bed and approached the door; she quickly pressed her finger to her lips, shushing her friends.

Artemis opened it ajar, Snape stood on the other side.

Although she was nervous at the presence of her raven-haired professor, she put her mask on, her stoic face matched his.

She waited to see what he was going to say. "The troll has been taken care of," he says with his monotone voice. He turned away, but before she could close the door his voice stopped her again, "make sure there is no funny business in your room Artemis." he gestured to her room.

He's not an idiot. Artemis thought. She fought back a smile.

"Of course, professor," she spoke softly. She heard snickers coming from behind the door.

"No funny business," he repeated. She watched his retreating figure go downstairs.

When the door closed, she turned to see amused faces.

The room erupted in laughter.

Theo raised up on his elbows, "How did he know?"

Artemis playfully rolled her eyes and strolled over to Draco, "How could he not know, you guys kept making noise."

Blaise huffed, "Blame it on the fact we're grieving."

Daphne giggled, "What are you grieving B?" she thought since he gave her a nickname, perhaps it was a good time for her to give him one.

Theo, Artemis, and Draco noticed this and shared a look before small smiles broke out on their faces.

"The loss of our innocence, we could've died."

"Fair enough I almost shat myself," Theo spoke up looking back at the ceiling.

"Do you have zero control over your bowls Theo?" Artemis asked the boy.

"Well if big beasts are strolling the schools, then no I don't." Theo deadpanned.

They each went back to their conversations before it got very late.

The boys left the room to finally go to bed since they kept yawning.

The girls barely got out of their robes and uniform before crawling into their beds.

Artemis barely slept, because all that plagued her mind was, Where did Professor Quirrell's stutter go?

SLYTHERIN DINING TABLE:

The next day it was revealed Potter and his friends went out and found the troll and knocked it unconscious.

Artemis was very surprised to hear this, and so were the rest of her friends.

Theo wished that the troll knocked them about a bit, Draco did too, but he also wanted them to get in trouble, which they didn't.

Daphne just was just grateful that she was alive and could live past 11. After all, she heard that she was getting diamonds for her 12th birthday so she needed to live until at least then.

However, Blaise wanted to unleash the troll again and send it straight to the Gryffindor common room.

"And they got rewarded for it" Draco slammed his hand down on the table, narrowly avoiding Artemis's food, he gave her an apologetic look before going back to his angered state.

"I've been telling you this D, of course, they would."

Artemis thought She needed to up her game,

Maybe I should release a big snake and kill it in front of the teachers

No, I like snakes

Maybe I should almost kill a student and save them before they die...

Nope, I'm not that crazy.

The Seramore girl went back to drinking her orange juice and continued plotting.

"Did they ever find out who let it out?" Daphne asked. She slapped Blaise's hand away, he kept trying to take her sausages all morning. "B, I will shove this fork up your fat arse if you keep trying that." she threatened, the boy's face paled at the thought, and went back to eating his food.

Artemis snorted at the threat, she liked how sassy Daphne was. And judging by the subtle looks Blaise kept giving the Greengrass girl, so did he.

Theo sighed, "They said it was an accident." He thought it was bull, they all did. He just rather focused on his breakfast than an ugly beast.

Draco gripped his fork tightly, "Nothing is an accident in this school, just wait until my father hears about this." He said through gritted teeth, he was still angry that the potter wizard and his friends didn't get into trouble. Artemis rubbed his back, his anger slightly faltering at her touch.

"It was probably Quirrell," Artemis spoke up. She didn't hate the professor, she just thought his speech impediment was incredibly fake, and why would anyone want to fake that.

They all looked at her in shock, Theo spoke up first, "That blubbering fool?"

"Well did you notice the only time he wasn't a stuttering mess was when he ran in, coincidence I think not." she defended.

"Well, I believe that." Blaise agreed with his cousin. "Anything happens at this school." even though it has only been 2 months since they arrived he's seen a lot of weird things,

"I don't believe that, he could barely pick up a wand without twitching. I doubt he could come face to face with a troll without pissing himself off." Theo said, trying to imagine it.

"That's true." Draco agreed, his eyes still focusing on his shoulder, as he still felt the touch of his friend's light and comforting hand.

"But he was the only professor out when everyone else was in the hall, so it isn't that far-fetched," Daphne said, defending Artemis.  "Plus it would definitely be a teacher to let the creature out, what student would do that?"

They all turned to look at the Seramore girl, "Artemis." they said simultaneously. They all laughed at the offended look on her face.

"Sod off." and with that, they finish up breakfast and head to class.
