GREAT HALL:
Walking through the hall was spectacular, the students had looks of awe and some of the terror when twenty ghosts had appeared.
Whilst walking, Artemis saw ghosts stream through the back wall.
They are Pearly-white and slightly transparent, gliding across the room talking to one another and hardly glancing at the first years. They seemed to be arguing, which made Artemis very amused.
Once they had got to the end of the hall, Professor McGonagall had told them all to get into a line.
Names were called to sit on the stall with a mangled hat, Blaise was called and of course, he was put into Slytherin.
Thank god. Aunt Lia will be proud.
Then, Theo, he had joined her cousin.
Harry Potter was obviously put into Gryffindor, but only after he begged not to be put into the greatest house in the school: Slytherin.
Artemis took note of his pleading, it irked her, especially since she knew how clueless he was after their interaction in the Robe store, so why the bloody hell did he hate Slytherin already?
Draco rolled his eyes at the cheers the boy received, he and Artemis were one of the last names to be called.
As the last couple of names were called he subtly reached out and held her hand, and gave her a soft smile.
"Draco Malfoy."
He groaned and reluctantly let go of her hand and shot her once the last look before sitting on the stool. The hat didn't even touch his head before it screams,
"Slytherin!"
She laughed, of course, he's in Slytherin.
Where else would they put a Malfoy?
Blaise and Theo cheered for her friend, along with other Slytherins, they patted his back before sitting down.
"Artemis Seramore."
The hall went silent as her name was called out, she walked confidently towards the stool.
There was a sudden hush that blankets the Great Hall. Every pair of eyes are suddenly on her.
Her body moved effortlessly, as her robe was grazing the floor.
Make them envy you. Her aunt's words echoed through her head.
Always walk with your head up, we are not peasants. Her mother's words came to mind as she was almost at the front.
Her eyes land on the headmaster who looks at her with something she could not decipher.
It was almost as similar to the A professor who wore a turban that was loosely wrapped around his head, his eyes contained something that one would deem anticipation.
She sat on the stool with a stoic look on her face, not giving away any emotions.
Students looked at her in anticipation, especially Ravenclaw and Slytherin's house.
The hat was slightly too big.
Oh god, could I contract lice from this? Artemis held back a grimace.
The hat began to talk, "A Seramore huh? I know Adriel would be proud that you came to Hogwarts Aye?"
She shot her cousin a look, "I know that's right." He shouted, immediately being shushed by faculty.
"You have the brains of a Ravenclaw, Merlin knows they could do with someone of your ambition and determination."
They looked offended at what the hat was saying.
Theo laughed, "Yes they could." McGonagall gave him a pointed look, making him shut up.
She was trying not to smile, "Perhaps Gryffindor," she held back an eye roll, she noticed many of them, including Harry, perk up at the mention of their house, "only kidding you don't belong with them." She nodded in agreement.
"You need a house where you're with your own, with people who could help you achieve great things and where all your family has been...." The hat trailed off.
Her nails dug into the sides of the seat, getting agitated that this was taking too long.
"SLYTHERIN!"
She let out a breath she wasn't even aware she was holding.
Praise Merlin.
Cheers erupted from her new house, mainly from cousins and friends,
"We got a Seramore"
"Beat that."
"Oh wait you can't."
Many Slytherins were shouting and boasting at other houses, as she made her way towards the table.
She recognized a blond girl with blue eyes sitting next to her cousin. Daphne Greengrass.
Theo and Draco made room for Artemis to sit between them, the Malfoy boy couldn't stop grinning.
Making a mental note to write to his mother.
On the other side of Draco were his goons; Crabbe and Goyle, they were trying to talk to him but he was too busy focusing on the young Seramore witch.
"Thank Merlin you got into Slytherin Arty, if you ended up anywhere else I would've disowned you," Blaise spoke with fake sadness.
She let a laugh fall from her lips, "Shut up B like I would end up anywhere else."
The trio all nodded at her words.
The blond that was sitting next to Blaise decided to speak, "it's nice to see you again Artemis." Her soft voice makes Blaise snap his head towards her, completely shocked that he didn't notice her beauty before.
"You too Daphne," she smiled at the girl, "I'm glad we're in the same house." she was genuinely glad, at least she knew who she was choosing to share a room with her.
"I'm just glad that I know some other people here," The blond spoke, then looked towards the Zabini boy, "it's nice to see you again Blaise."
She blushed slightly at the way he was looking at her. The short-haired boy didn't mean to stare but he couldn't look away from her ocean blue eyes.
"You to Bellissima." He smirked.
Theo, Artemis, and Draco shared a look. The boys try to hold back their laughs at his attempt to flirt.
Artemis knew how her cousin got around people he liked, or just found attractive. He was just like his mother, although his crushes didn't end up dead.
An announcement stopped their conversation, causing the pair to back away, not realising how close they had gotten.
The friends let out a laugh at the awkwardness that was created, Blaise sent them a sarcastic smile, whilst Daphne looked away, trying to hide her blush.
Artemis looked towards the old man- who was her headmaster, he is tall and pudgy, with silver hair and beard so long that they can be tucked into his belt.
He has a very long and crooked nose that looks as if it has been broken at least twice.
The way he looked at her when she got into Slytherin made Artemis want to break his nose again, she shook the thoughts from her head as he got to his feet.
He was beaming at the students, his arms opened wide as if nothing could have pleased him more than to see them all there.
"Welcome," he said. "Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! Thank you!"
He sat back down. Everybody clapped and cheered.
The purebloods just stared at him, "That man is mentally ill." Artemis muttered, causing them all to laugh.
She wasn't kidding though.
Headmaster claps his hands and food magically appears at their table. It all looked so
delicious.
The other house tables dove for their food but being a Slytherin as well as pureblood meant they were all drilled the same manners growing up.
It was obvious to Artemis that the way Gregory and Vince were eating, the plates would be engulfed as well as the food.
The other purebloods kept their backs straight, napkins on their laps, as they took their food as they started up their conversations again.
The Greengrass witch looked at Blaise, "How is your mother, I heard she's seeing a Rosier."
"Yeah, she said that he might even propose soon." He never really cared about his mother's husband, he never got close to them so when they passed away he barely batted an eye.
He did help her grieve, which wasn't hard as her grieving process lasted no less than a month with a couple of bottles of fire whiskey and a few trips to the spa.
He did feel sad for his mother though, he didn't want her to end up all alone, despite her seeming happy, he just wanted someone to take care of her like the way his godfather; Ezekiel took care of his aunt Celeste.
"Hopefully he lives long enough." Draco quips, knowing that his godmother switched husbands as often as the seasons throughout the year.
Blaise merely shrugged, "But if you hear that he mysteriously passes away...
"We didn't know anything."
"We didn't see anything."
"So we didn't say anything." Blaise, Artemis, and Draco all recited in unison, before going back to their food.
Theo and Daphne shared a look, trying to remember this whole speech. It was clear to the two that the other three already shared a strong bond, they just hoped that they could be included in that in the future.
After all, purebloods do look after their own.
The Nott boy was scanning the table after finishing the second plate of his food when he noticed a couple of Slytherins staring at his new friend, however, she was too engaged in her conversation with Draco to notice so he nudged her making both Artemis and Draco's head snapped towards him.
She gave Theo a questioning look, before he gestured towards wizards that were giving her leering looks, she cringed at the smirks that they were wearing.
Immediately no. she thought
Draco scowled when he realized that he recognised the dirty blonde and raven-headed boy, he kicked his best friend's leg under the table making the Zabini wizard groan as he was about to take another bite of his roasted potato.
"What, can't a boy eat in peace?"
"Warrington and Montague are gawking at your cousin." that made him drop his fork and glare at the two wizards.
"So is this a normal thing then?" Theo questions, looking disgusted by their faces.
The poor boy was trying to eat, he didn't want to throw up his food on the first day.
Blaise fake gags, "Sadly."
Theo got tired of their persistent glances, so he reached over the table and grabbed a chicken wing and chucked at them, making his friends chuckle,
Unfortunately, the two boys ducked and the price of poultry hit a witch with raven hair, shaped like a bob.
The first years all looked away, avoiding eye contact but were covering their mouths trying not to laugh.
"Theo, I think you hit Parkinson," Artemis said making direct eye contact with the girl, not caring that she was sending deadly looks towards her and the little group.
Artemis continued to stare at the girl, not backing down, she barely even blinked. A smile appeared on her face when the girl started to squirm in her seat, it only grew when Parkinson looked away.
She turned her gaze and started to glare at Daphne, who was unbothered, and gave her a sarcastic thumbs-up, which made the Emerald trio like her a lot more, especially a certain brown-skinned boy.
Draco accidentally locked eyes with the odd-looking girl, making the glare on her face replaced with a flirty smile, causing him to shrink back and look at his plate.
"You need to work on your aim mate," Blaise said looking at Theo, who was still laughing at the mess he made.
"I could but then, I could just continue to throw things until it eventually hits them."
Draco agreed, "I'll join you, Theo since they haven't looked away."
"I don't get why," Daphne said, looking at her friend, "Artemis, you are very pretty, but aren't you too young for them?"
Artemis winked at the girl before speaking, "Incredibly too young."
The two older Slytherin wizards always had this weird obsession with Artemis, so her mother and aunts stopped inviting their families to their events.
Artemis sighed, "It's fine guys," she grabbed her wand from her sock, looking towards the pair with a sick smile, only making their smirks grow, "Expulso." their plates exploded, they were covered in their dinner.
Most of the Slytherin table erupted in laughter, which caught their head of house's attention, along with a couple of other professors, who ignored the commotion and went back to their food.
The raven-haired professor; Severus Snape looked at his house and where the noise was the loudest, recognizing some of their young faces.
His eyes zoned onto Artemis, and the sly grin she was wearing. Of course, a Seramore is involved.
His gaze moved to the two wizards covered in their dinner who identified as Cassius Warrington and Graham Montague. They ran out of the hall probably to go to the boy's toilets to get cleaned up. Snape hummed then shrugged, he never liked the pair anyway.
Snape's mind was swarming with thoughts.
I wonder who taught her that spell.
Perhaps she will be good in my potions class.
Perhaps she can tell her mother to make me a personalized robe.
He had realized that Dumbledore was also staring at the young girl like he was contemplating something, but Snape took no notice of it and went back to his feast.
He ignored Quirrals blubbering and aggressive fake-sounding stutter, wishing that he had chosen to sit anywhere else.
From the far left of the hall, Theo's had to hold his stomach as he couldn't stop laughing, "Remind me never to get on your bad side."
"Where did you even learn the spell?" Daphne was trying to compose herself after laughing into her hands for the past 5 minutes, she was intrigued by her friend, hoping that she could possibly teach her some more charms and spells.
"I use on Blaise whenever he takes my snacks," Artemis said, attracting her cousin's attention.
He faked gasps at her accusation, "You can never prove that I did take any of your snacks though."
"Because you eat all the evidence" she pushed her food aside, fully engaged in the discussion.
They have had so many arguments about Blaise eating her snacks, she even suspected that he was the one that stole the chocolate frogs from her snack drawer in her room.
When she asked about it, he blamed Binky.
The poor house-elf was apologizing profusely, despite Artemis knowing it wasn't her, the witch had to spend the entire night comforting Binky, reassuring the elf that she knew it wasn't her that took her sweets.
Celeste had to tell Binky to take a week off, because of how emotional she had gotten.
Blaise was of course grounded for a week, but he had his cousin's snacks to keep him company so he couldn't care less.
"I would do no such thing."
"Just admit it, B."
"You think I would do that?"
Their bickering continued, completely ignoring the giggles from their friends.
Daphne leaned forward and asked Draco. "Do they do this often?" Theo also looked away from the cousins, wanting to know.
Draco had not realized that he was looking mainly at Artemis, and immediately looked away, before smiling at his two new friends, "All the time." They laughed.
Theo sighed looking between Artemis and Blaise, the two who looked as if they were about to hex each other, "Alright alright, you two settle down, let's make a toast."
Draco had to pull Artemis away, as it looked like she was about to lunge across the table at her cousin, Blaise just grinning at how easily he could set her off.
Even Daphne, knowing how composed Artemis was, was also surprised at the anger that flashed across her face when Blaise mentioned that he would blow up her bed.
The new generation of Slytherins all held up goblets with various drinks in them and looked at Theo waiting for him to continue.
"Here's to a great stress-free year at Hogwarts."
They all cheered and gulped down their beverages.
After a while, the desserts disappeared causing both Theo and Blaise to sigh in exacerbation.
Professor Dumbledore got to his feet again, making the hall fall silent.
"Does he ever stop talking?" Blaise whispered to no one in particular, making his group hold back their laughs.
"Ahem — just a few more words now that we are all fed and watered."
"Who the bloody hell says watered?" Theo said in confusion, his friends avoided eye contact with him before they started to laugh, Artemis let out a snort, hitting his arm trying to make him shut up before she cackled.
Dumbledore continued, "I have a few starts of term notices to give you, first-years should note that the forest on the grounds is forbidden to all pupils. And a few of our older students should do well to remember that."
"I wasn't even thinking about going but I wanna go now," Artemis muttered, making Draco smile.
He would go with her if she wanted.
"I have also been asked by Mr filch, the caretaker, to remind you all that no magic should be used between classes in the corridors."
Artemis started to grin as her friends looked towards her, even her head of year gave her a pointed look, she shrugged innocently. 'No promises' she mouthed to him, a ghost of a smile sauntered onto his face.
"Quidditch trials will be held in the second week of term. Anyone interested in playing for their house teams should contact Madam hooch."
This caught Artemis and Draco's attention. Although she did not practice as much as him, she was still talented at flying. She focused more on spells and potions, and left Quidditch to Draco, she knew he was going to be a seeker.
"And finally, I must tell you that this year, the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a very painful death."
"How much do you wanna bet that someone from Gryffindor will go there." Artemis drawled, looking at the platinum-haired boy.
"10 galleons," he said.
"Deal." They shook hands.
Theo was thinking of ways to trick his classmates to go to that deadly place.
Daphne was thinking trying to stay awake since the headmaster's speech was taking too long, meanwhile, Blaise was glaring at the redhead boy who was rude to his cousin.
"It's not like I'm going to go, but why not give us a reason?" Daphne questioned her newfound friends.
"It's like he wants us to go there," Draco said, not liking the man already.
Who would put their students in danger?
"He puts the dumb in Dumbledore." Theo and Blaise said in unison causing them both to laugh.

SLYTHERIN COMMON ROOMS:
After they ate, all houses were led to their common rooms by the prefects.
Unsurprisingly, the Slytherin common room was located in the dungeons. It's like they wanted them to be hidden away.
They were isolated.
Did they not think that isolating a group of people made them feel insufficient and worthless.
However, this specific group would only grow and become closer.
When they got to the common room and they all look around in awe at the big room covered in greens, blacks, and silver.
Artemis was in her element, her favorite colours surrounded her, making her feel right at home.
The green light reflected onto the jet black leather sofas, as the tall dark bookcases stood near emerald green walls.
The greenish lamps were hanging on chains of the low ceiling.
A big and round wooden table sat comfortably in the middle of the room which is encircled by vintage sandal wooden chairs.
Small Desks were dispersed in the corners of the room.
The room itself was a long, low underground room with rough stone walls and ceiling, from which round.
A bright and warm fire was crackling under an elaborately carved mantelpiece ahead of them, and several Slytherins were silhouetted around it in carved chairs.
Different detailed designs were carved onto each wall, some of the many greats that came from Slytherin were painted upon them.
Blaise tapped his cousin's shoulder gesturing her to look up, she gasped when she saw a painting of Adriel's face.
He looked brilliant.
The windows were dark, and one of them showed mysterious creatures swimming around the foggy green water. The whole room is aesthetically pleasing.
"Well I'm amazed" Blaise blurted out as he looked around the room, "I wasn't expecting all of this."
"What are you talking about B, I doubt our parents would've stayed here if they hated it," They laughed as they stood around the room.
"Yeah, I could get used to this" Draco added as he comfortably sits on the couch, Theo sat next to him.
"We should probably head to bed" Daphne suggested, stood next to Artemis, she tugged on her arm getting her attention, "we should go to our room, thank god I'm sharing with you."
"Same."
Blaise yawned, "About time I've been up since 6."
"I've been up since 5." Daphne and Draco said in unison, causing them both to weirdly look at each other.
"Why?" Artemis laughed at the looks on their faces.
"Doing my hair." They both replied. Causing them all to laugh.
Theo got up, "Night guys."
"Buona notte." Artemis and Blaise shouted.
"Night." They all said their goodbyes before the girls went one way and the boys went the other.

GIRL'S ROOM:
Luckily Artemis and Daphne chose their room quickly and locked it up, preventing anyone else from entering.
They laughed when they heard the pounding of other students trying to get in and share with them, they were up against the door for 30 minutes before the other witches stopped trying.
The Slytherin dorms were decorated similarly to the common room.
Similar colours; greens, blacks, and silver.
The witches were irritated that they only had single beds, but they quickly got over it when they felt how comfortable they were.
The duvets were olive green, while the bed frames were black. The beds were placed on opposite ends of the room. Their family crests hung above them.
Lamps sitting on their bedside tables brightened the room so much, the lights reached to the green rug; which held a snake on the cover, that reached far enough that it spread to each of their trunks, that were in front of their beds.
They both had desks that were next to their wide windows, which Daphne wasn't expecting since they were in the dungeons.
"Thank Merlin I sat near you guys today," Daphne said coming back from the bathroom, now in her nightwear.
"Same even though it might not seem like it, I was dreading sharing with someone I didn't know."
Artemis was still going through her trunk that was already there when they had arrived.
"Well, gee thanks Artemis," Daphne said sarcastically, making her friend smile. The Greengrass witch got into her bed. "Please wake me up tomorrow I'm a very deep sleeper."
"I'm not, anything could wake me up, but don't worry ill wake up when I do." Artemis folded up the rest of her clothes and went to the bathroom to change into her nightwear.
When she came out Daphne was already writing a letter to her mother telling her about her day, the new friends she's made, and that she was in Slytherin. When she finished she walked over to their window where her owl was, whose company was being kept by Ciana; Artemis' owl.
Her owl took the letter and flew away.
The blond walked back to her bed, tiredly, "We have potions with Snape on Friday, I've heard he's an arse."
"Same, but he's the head of our house so that will play in our favour, especially since we already know things."
"True but I don't want him to target us, especially when we have to wake up so early." Daphne was not a morning person, even at home, she couldn't speak until around noon, because she was confused as to how any could speak before then.
"I planned to answer one question correctly so he would leave us alone. Hopefully, he targets the other houses."
It was full proof. And then after that, she would take notes for the rest of the lesson without being bothered.
Well unless the boys didn't speak to her, which is bloody unlikely.
"Oh that's a good plan, but what if I don't know the answers?" Daphne cringed at the thought of embarrassing herself in front of the class.
"I'll give them to you." Artemis shrugged, she was very comfortable around Daphne, and the girl wasn't envious of her, which was a bonus.
She fell out with many other pureblood children due to envy, at first this fact confused Artemis, then over the years, she had to get used to it, which is why she clung to Draco and Blaise because they understood as well.
Daphne beamed at Artemis, "Thank you so much, you don't have to you know?"
"Of course I do, us purebloods have to stick together." she flashed the Seramore smile at the girl, making Daphne feel very appreciated, not expecting this, especially on her first day, "How much do you want to bet that I'll have to give the answers to the boys?"
"Take my money now." They both broke out in laughter.
Artemis started to write her letter to her mother, letting her know how her day went.
"But honestly Artemis I'm grateful."
Artemis waved her off, and got into her clean sheets, "It's fine Daphne."
For a few moments, they were quiet before Daphne spoke up again. "Maybe we should make a promise."
Artemis snorted, "What, like an unbreakable vow?"
Daphne looked at her new friend in disbelief, "Merlin no, I'm not trying to get myself killed."
"Okay so like a normal promise."
"Pinky promise."
Artemis rolled her eyes, but her face still held a smile, "fine, what should we pinky promise?"
"To always have each other's backs, no matter what and..."
"And..."
"Never give up on each other no matter how angry we get with one another."
"Merlin, these sound like wedding vows Daphne, you haven't even proposed yet."
"Shut up," she said trying not to laugh, "come on, "she gestured Artemis to get out of bed.
They both left their duvets and linked their pinky's and kissed them.
Daphne let out a squeal causing Artemis to giggle, they both embraced each other before going back to their beds and switched on the bedside tables
"Night Artemis."
"Notte Daphne."

a/n:
we've finally met Daphne, she and Artemis will become very close throughout the school year. They've met at previous pure-blood events and got along but they never really bothered to keep in touch since they knew they were going to see each other again.
Who do you like Artemis interacting with the most?
