Do you remember it? The day that you were brought into the world? The day that you opened your eyes and looked up at your parents with giggling smile and wide eyes? It was always a special day. A birthday, as they called it. A day of the year that was celebrated every single year, announcing to the world that you had been alive for another three-hundred-sixty-five days. Everyone had a birthday, everyone except Celeste.
Celestialโ๏ธI know, what kind of name is Celestial?โ๏ธnever had that. She never had human parents to look up at, cry out for, lay in the bed with when she was scared of the thunder storm brewing. She was the one that caused the thunderstorms. Celeste was an angel. A rebellious one, in her personal opinion. She didn't follow the rules. She would always figure a way around what was written in the books, changing history, and almost immediately pissing off every other angel. But she always smiled in success.
She liked to change things. She didn't like staying in one place for the longest time. She liked to roam around, discover what she could. She was just curious about what truly went on in the world. She knew how to handle herself if she were to ever be sent down to earth. She knew how to pick a fightโ๏ธfor she did it at least every other day, finding it amusing when one of the angels would shout angrily at her when she forced the book to rewrite itself.
Unlike the humans that roamed on the earth below, Celeste was not created from two parents, a man and a woman. She was simply built by the man that was in charge of went on, controlling everything that happened on both Earth and Heaven. Other angels liked to claim that she was the favorite, but Celeste liked to believe otherwise. She was the rebellious angel, the one that didn't follow the rulesโ๏ธshe wasn't anything like Satan, the angel that now rules that of Hell.
Even though she was a rebel, she was the kindest angel. She had a full heart, a warm smile, and she loved watching those below her. She loved watching the things that the human's would do, silently wishing that she could be down there with them, but she knew that wasn't bound to happen. She wasn't with the guardian angels, the ones that were assigned to protect certain humans. Or at least, she wasn't before her father had requested to speak with her.
Celeste walked down the white hallways, smiling at the angels she would walk by and either receiving a smile or scowl in response. She didn't mind the scowls, she ignored them quite frankly and would replace them in her head as a kind gesture. She walked into the room where her father stood, her hands being placed behind her back as she looked up at him. "Father, you wished to speak with me?"
"Indeed I have."
"What is it that you wish to talk about?" Celeste questioned, her head cocking slightly. "If I recall correctly, I haven't done anything wrong since last week."
"You are not in trouble, my child." The man told her. "In fact, I have a job for you."
Celeste smiled, excited. "And what per say is this job?"
"I know how much you've been wanting to go to earth." He spoke, turning to look at the blonde haired angel. "Celeste, you are being given an upgrade to be a guardian angel." Celeste's eyes widened, trying to hold back the wide smile that wanted to break out among her face.
"Oh?" She questioned, raising an eyebrow. "What per say is this upgrade for?"
"To get you out of heaven before the other angels attempt to murder you." He answered, making an amused laugh fall from the girl's lips. She patiently waited as he explained to her the mission. "Your job is to protect a soon-to-be soldier, James Barnes. You've changed things that have been written in the books once before, I expect that you shall be able to do it again. He will captured by HYDRA, your goal is to rescue him. Do you understand?"
"Yes sir." She nodded. "But, why him? What is so important about James Barnes?"
"That I cannot share, for you shall figure it out on your own." Celeste nodded her head simply in response. "Good luck, Celeste. I expect updates."
"As you wish, father." She nodded. "Thank you, for this." She smiled at him before turning on her heel and walking out, and as soon as she did so, she found herself no longer in Heaven, but instead found herself lying in the grass, now on earth, her mission officially starting.
