CHAPTER FOUR:
COMMUNICATION

A LAUGH ESCAPED HER LIPS as the man that called himself Bucky spun her around before bring her back to his arms once more. She had never been dancing before, that was true. Up above, dancing wasn't really a top priority. Their priorities were sorely on the human race. Or rather, those that weren't up there in the clouds with them. They watched over the thousands of different planets, making sure everything was going according to the book. They never really had a moment of free time.

Bucky looked down at the angel, a smile pulled on his lips, watching as she had the time of her life, spinning in circles and then gliding back over to him so gracefully it was almost inhuman. Of course, he didn't know the gorgeous angel in front of him wasn't human and that everything the angels did was so graceful and elegant, almost like royalty. He was mesmerized by every step that she took, drawn to the girl like they were soulmates.

They took a break, Bucky carefully bringing the girl from the dance floor and towards the bar in which they sat down. He watched her for a moment, noticing how a single hair wasn't out of place and she wasn't catching her breath like most would after moving for a few minutes at a time. She had an excited smile on her face, one that seemed to refuse to leave her lips. Her blue eyes moved to meet Bucky's.

"That was fun." Celeste told him, nodding her head. In fact, it was the best thing Celeste had ever done in her life. It felt so freeing, spinning in circles before being pulled back into the embrace of the one whom she was supposed to protect. His arms were so comforting, it felt like home. The thought almost made her frown. She had just met him, and yet she was already in too deep. She wasn't supposed to feel like this. She couldn't. Her job was to protect him, not fall in love with him.

"You know, for someone who has never been dancing, you do it very gracefully." Bucky complimented the girl. A smirk lifted at the corner of his lips as he watched the slight tint of pink that crawled up from her neck to her cheeks at the compliment. The blinding perfect smile was still on her face, and the more that he looked at it, the more that he was falling for the girl that he had just met. Love at first sight wasn't a thing. Neither of them believed in it. But when he first laid his eyes on Celeste, that thought was starting to change. And the more they were there together, the more it was changing.

"Thank you, Bucky." Celeste told him. "You aren't so bad either."

"What can I get you?" The bartender forced the two to break eye contact, turning to glance at the man as he looked between them.

"Just two waters is fine." Bucky told the man. He nodded and walked away before coming back not a minute later with two glasses of water in his hands. He placed it in front of the two before walking away once more. Celeste carefully picked up the glass, examining it for a moment before carefully taking a taste of the drink. It was quite refreshing, making her hum in satisfaction before placing the drink back on the counter.

Bucky looked backed towards Celeste with a small smile still on his lips. "So, Celeste, tell me about yourself."

Celeste turned to look towards him, pursing her lips and fixing her posture before she shrugged her shoulders. "Well. . . what would you like to know?"

"Why Brooklyn of all places?" Bucky started.

"Well. . ." She hummed, furrowing her eyebrows, wondering for a moment if she should tell him the truth. She knew that she wasn't supposed to. Or at least, that's what she thought before remembering who she was and what her reputation was. She was the rebellious angel. And she knew that her father would know everything before she did it. And if she did something that could potentially ruin everything, he would've sent her back up by now. "I came here looking for someone."

"Oh? Care to tell?"

Celeste bit her lip for a moment. "I'm supposed to protect them. But, how do I protect them if I don't know what to protect them from? It's pretty clear that he can take care of himself, yet my father still expects me to step up and protect him like I'm a guardian angel or something. Which I'm not. I'm just a normal. . . human. A normal being with nothing bright and fancy about her that can ward off demons. Nothing like that. How do I fulfill my task, if I don't know how?"

Bucky looked at her for a moment, his eyebrows furrowed. He watched as she closed her eyes, a sigh falling from her lips as she shook her head. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to just. . . explode on you like that. I've just been thinking about this for the past two weeks non stop. And now that I've finally found who I've been looking for. . . I'm just very stressed and am trying to walk myself through it."

"Sounds like a future world problem." Bucky lightly joked. He was concerned. The woman did not sound like she was from this century whatsoever. She sounded so non ladylike, it almost made him jump in surprise. But it wasn't a bad thing. It made her different from all of these other blonde girl's that ran around town, begging for a husband or a mans attention. "Have you tried talking to him?"

"No." She whispered. "It's my problem. One he doesn't need to know about."

Bucky shrugged his shoulders. "Talk to him. Communication is the easiest way to get through something."

"But I'm scared to talk to him." Celeste fingered the glass in her hand. "I'm scared how he'll react."

"You clearly have a lot on your mind." Bucky noted and Celeste nodded her head. He stood up, grabbing the girl's attention. He placed money on the bar for the two drinks before holding his hand out to the girl. She frowned slightly, cocking her head in confusion as she looked up at him. "Let's go for a walk. Walking always clears my head. And it is quite peaceful at this time of night." Celeste looked at him for a moment before she placed her hand into his, a small smile falling onto her face.
