"James, wake up, Evans wants to go out with you!"

Sirius shouts.

"Peter, wake up, there's food!"

Sirius shouts once more.

"Lily?!"

"Food?"

James and Peter shout even louder simultaneously.

"Why the hell is everyone shouting?"

Remus groans.

"Good job boys, it takes three to wake Moony up," Sirius smirks.

Remus throws a pillow at him, and groans again as James and Peter's faces drop in disappointment.

"It's 2AM, you twat!" The three exclaim in unison.

"I know," the accused shrugs, "now, since you're all coincidentally awake... Guess what I found?!"

"Food!"

"Lily!"

"What the hell were you doing out at night?!"

"Not important," Sirius dismisses, "what's important is that I coincidentally overheard..."

"C'mon Sirius, the suspense is killing me," James complained, Peter nodding in agreement.

"Yeah, I want to know why it's so important that you fucking woke me up at 2AM," Remus mumbled.

"I saw the Sullivan twins talking."

Nobody knew what to say. I mean, what even were they supposed to say. Remus was intrigued, but didn't want to suffer the abominable teasing of his friends, so he kept quiet. James was waiting in anticipation, and Peter... Well, Peter just looked confused.

"Wait, who are the Sullivan twins?" Peter finally broke the silence.

Remus rolled his eyes, so did Sirius. James was still waiting in anticipation.

"One of them is the girl you find 'pretty' Peter, the other is Sirius brother's friend," the annoyed Remus explained.

"Were you not listening at dinner, Pete?" Sirius sighs dramatically.

"No, obviously not, I was focused on the food!" The concerned exclaimed.

"Fair enough," Remus muttered under his breath, earning a glare from James and Sirius.

"Pete, you NEVER listen," Sirius complained.

"Yeah I do."

"No you don't."

"Yeah I do."

"You guys are giving me a headache," Remus groaned.

"It bet it's Moony's time of the month," Sirius snapped back.

"Fuck you, drama queen."

"ENOUGH! ALL OF YOU! SHUT UP!" James voice resounded in the dorm, "let's just listen to Sirius, shall we?"

Nobody dared to speak, well except Sirius of course.

"So I was walking in the corridorsโ€“"

"How did you not get caught, being out so late?" Remus interrogated.

"Well it turns out, my dear Remus, you being Prefect really does have its advantages."

"Hm?"

"I stole your schedule to know when patrols end."

"Oh my God, Sirius Bl-"

"Let him finish, let him finish," James shushed Remus.

"So, anyway, I thought after collecting some booze and cigarettes from that lovely Hufflepuff. He's great by the way, good prices. Anyway, where was I? Ah yes! I thought I'd have a quick smoke on the Astronomy Tower, only to find out it-"

"Occupied," Peter quirked up, "by the Sullivan twins?"

"Exactly Pete. I was going to leave, but my curiosity got the best of me."

"Curiosity killed the cat, they say," Remus interjected.

"But satisfaction brought it back," James retorted, "keep going Sirius."

"Yes, so it was at first just Apollo lecturing Diane on some lame thing. But then he mentioned a name of a guy, 'Ethan'. When he mentioned that name, she got mad and stormed off."

"So what's your point?" Remus finally asked.

Remus' intrigue for the girl for the girl was slowly growing, but he didn't dare show it. He didn't know whether it was her mysterious aura which drew his attention or the fact that she was irrevocably attractive. Either way, he was drawn to her, and it seemed he wasn't the only one...

"I just want to find out more. I'm curious," Sirius started, "don't you guys find it weird that we haven't noticed her in the last four years? I think there is more to it. Especially considering Apollo Sullivan is about as popular a Slytherin can get."

"Sirius, you're droning. Get to your point," James whined.

"I don't have a point."

Remus was annoyed. He didn't understand his friend's sudden intrigue with the girl. Was Sirius attracted to her? It wouldn't surprise him, Sirius was quite the ladies man, if one could say so. His friend's sudden interest didn't not sit well with the lycanthrope, and he did not like that feeling one single bit.

"Oh, so you're just playing hero again are you?" Remus snapped.

"Trust me Remus, I'm not the one playing hero here..."

Diane groaned as she felt her blanket being removed.

"Diane! Wake up! You already missed breakfast. Class is in fifteen minutes," Pandora exclaimed.

The sleepy girl reluctantly got out of bed, earning a smile from her roommate. She quickly put on her uniform, and ran a brush through her hair. And there Diane was, ready to go.

"I kept you this scone for breakfast," Pandora said softly.

"I'm good, but thanks."

Pandora sigh, already expecting this answer from her friend, if one could even call them friends. Pandora Ollivander had tried to break down the girl's walls ever since their first year. Now here they were, starting their fifth year at Hogwarts, and still no sign of success. Pandora, being the ray of sunshine that she was, held out hope for Diane, who herself was about as dark as night could get.

Diane left the dorm room, throwing he brown leather satchel over her shoulder, leaving a disappointed Pandora with a scone in her hand.

The Sullivan girl made her way to Astronomy class, a class which she surprisingly enjoyed. Despite that, she was still in dire need for a smoke. Unfortunately for her, there wasn't even time left for a quick drag, she'd just have to wait until lunch.

Diane had never liked first days of class, well that wasn't quite true, but moving on. This year was not much different from previous ones, except that her need to push through classes was greater than any other year. She was in desperate need of an escape from her thoughts, her summer. An eventful summer, which unfortunately would stay forever engraved in her memory for all the wrong reasons. For now, it was the last thing she wanted to think about.

She opened the door to Professor Sinistra's class, taking a seat in the back. Diane sat there listening to the teacher droning about the origins of constellation names. This was going to be a long day.

โœฉโœฉโ˜พ๏ธŽโœฉโœฉ

Diane walked toward the Great Hall for lunch, well that was before she her walk was interrupted.

"Oy, Sullivan!"

She ignored it, thinking someone was calling her brother. It couldn't be her the person was calling, simply because nobody ever called for her. Unbeknownst to her, this time would be different.

"Oy, female Sullivan!"

She turned around, a look of pure and utter surprise. Not only because her 'name' had been called, but because of who she was facing. None other than the infamous Sirius Black. At the sight of him, she frowned. He slowly caught up with her, a smirk plastered on his face.

"Sorry interrupt your deep thoughts, m'lady, just wanted to ask you something. Oh, and I'm Sirius Black by the way."

"I know who you are," she muttered.

"Oh, you do?"

"Who doesn't," Diane mumbled.

"Fair enough, I am quite the celebrity. Anyway, Diane-"

"How the hell do you know my name?"

"Why shouldn't I? I have my sources, Diane."

Her mind went back to what her brother had said last night. Sirius Black and Remus Lupin's sudden interest in her, rather who she was. Diane hadn't thought much about it, but now...

"So, I was wondering-"

"No."

"What do you mean 'no'? I didn't even finish my sentence."

Sirius face was etched with confusion. Why was she so cold? This was going to be harder than he thought.

"I'm pretty sure the answer would have been the same had I let you finish," Diane answered as she started to walk away.

"Okay, firstly, rude. Secondly, just let me finish, please?"

"Fine. What do you want, Black?"

"Oh, I just was wondering if you would have a cigarette for me. You see, I'm in dire need for a smoke."

She stared at him incredulously, that was about the last thing she expected to hear, but at this point anything could happen.

"Excuse me?" She said, hesitantly handing him a cigarette.

"Thank you, I shall forever be grateful."

He walked away, but before having one last thing to say:

"Oh, by the way, I know a girl with a past when I see one. Hide your game better if you're so hellbent on hiding it. The bad girl facade gets old, Sullivan."

And with that, he turned the corner and disappeared, leaving Diane stunned.

So many questions ran through her head, but mostly one thought terrified her. How could Sirius Black figure out what no one had in such little time? Or did no one ever dare to tell her?

โœฉโœฉโ˜พ๏ธŽโœฉโœฉ

After a long day, Diane sat in the library, a book in her hand. Reading was usually her escape, but today she couldn't focus on the beautiful words imprinted on the pages of her book. Her thoughts were all over the place. Sirius' words kept repeating themselves over and over again. How could such a small thing affect her so much. She groaned in annoyance, mostly at herself. The Sullivan twin wasn't usually one to be affected by other people whom she deemed irrelevant in her life. Yet, why was she so troubled by this?

Damn you Sirius Black.

Diane put down her book in frustration. Not knowing what to do, she ripped out a page from her notebook and started writing:

"Dear Edward,

hope I'm not bothering you. I already miss you, Johnathan, Anthony and Eva. I thought after this summer, school would be a great distraction, but things in my life never go to plan huh? I feel like everything has come back to bite me in the ass. First Ethan, and now this guy I've never talked to at school is convinced that I have a troubled past. Is it really that obvious, Ed? It's confusing me, I've taken so much care to not been noticed. All these years it has worked, but suddenly it doesn't. I don't know. I know what you think, I know you think that my habits are awful and that this might be a good thing. Maybe I'm overreacting. I want to escape from all this, not be reminded of it. How could a person I barely know figure me out? Am I that transparent, Ed? I'm not making any sense, am I? My brain is going haywire. Anyway, I just wanted to write for the sake of it. Say hi to Violet from me (and use protection ;) ).

All the best,
Diane"

All this time, Remus Lupin had been standing there watching her. He hadn't thought he'd see her here, but there she was. The boy was enthralled by her. He watched her write, and groan in frustration. He wanted to make conversation, but didn't know how to. Remus didn't want to interrupt her writing either. So, as he saw her fold the piece of paper, he seized the opportunity.

Remus cleared his throat.

"Is it any good?" He asked looking at the book on the table.

Diane looked up slowly, surprised but also mildly annoyed by his presence. It wasn't his fault per say, but this was the second time someone she had never interacted with came to talk to her in a day. Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. She slowly picked up her copy of 'The Oedipus Cycle' by Sophocles, and stared at it for a moment.

"Erm, I haven't read it yet."

"Oh ok, me neither, I mean, erm, obviously since i asked," he fumbled.

An awkward silence settled in. Diane was fiddling with her folded letter, avoiding eye contact, and Remus was running his hand through his sandy brown hair excessively. He didn't know how to keep the conversation going.

"Sorry, I didn't introduce myself, I'm Remus Lupin. And you are?" He asked. This was his desperate attempt at making conversation.

"Diane Sullivan."

Another round of awkward silence settled in.

"Are you okay? You're awfully quiet," Remus remarked.

Diane kept fiddling with her piece of paper as she forced and smile and mumbled a quiet yes.

Remus raised his eyebrows, not believing her in the slightest bit.

"You don't look okay."

"I am," she answered back quietly.

"Hm, I don't believe you, but whatever helps you sleep at night..."

And there it was again. She had tried so hard to get Sirius' words out of her head, but it seemed Remus had the same intentions as his friend. She was overwhelmed by her thoughts. He had struck a nerve.

She got up, and gathered all her things.

"Don't you and you friends have anything better to do than pester other people," she said coldly.

Remus was speechless, he hadn't expected an outburst. He was at a loss for words.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you," he stuttered out.

Diane stormed off, but not before turning around and glaring at the boy one last time.

"Oh, and tell your friend Sirius Black to not talk to me again."

She then slammed the door of the library, earning a glare from Madam Pince.

Remus sigh, this was not he intended to happen when he approached her. He didn't know Sirius had already talked to her. Remus' shoulders dropped, disappointed in himself. Had he been insensitive? Or had Sirius done something stupid again? The latter seemed more likely.

Remus muttered under his breath, annoyed:

"Damn you Sirius Black."

There we go chapter 3. They finally meet! I swear it feels more like a Sirius fanfic right now, but he's pivotal to the development of this story. Sorry for updating later than I had anticipated. I've been really tired, but hey, at least I finished this chapter. I feel like it's a little messy for the time being, but please tell me what you think. Thank you so much for reading, it's very rewarding for me to see reads, votes and comments.

Question for you: What's your favourite movie ?
Me: Personally right now, I'm going through a Dead Poets Society faze. But I also love other movies such as The Social Network.

Anyway, have a lovely day or night. Wish you guys all the best. :)
