"Moony!"
No reaction.
"Moony!" Sirius called again.
Remus finally looked up from his book, acknowledging his friend.
"Yes?" He asked.
Sirius rolled his eyes. "Honestly Moony, are you even listening?"
"Erm, James likes Lily?"
The boys all snickered at this .
"Mate, you're about 5 years late," James laughed.
"Five years, and still no sign of success," Remus snapped back.
"Guys, focus, this is important."
"Well, to be honest, my reading is-"
"Boring," Sirius completed.
Remus tried to protest, but was quick to realise that arguing with them on this subject was pointless.
"So," Sirius started, "I was saying, did you see Regulus talking to that girl when we got on the train?"
"What about it?"
"Seriously Moony, we're talking about Regulus, Sirius' brother, talking to a girl," James said.
"Not just any girl, a girl from Ravenclaw, not from Slytherin."
"And she pretty!" Peter chimed in.
The Marauder all turned around and stared at him.
"What?! It's true," he protested.
"So, why tell me about it?" Remus asked, ignoring Peter.
"One, we need gossip on Reg, he's my younger brother after all," the older Black brother explained.
"Two, we don't know who she is, so we were wondering if you did," James continued.
"Three, she's pretty," Peter added.
They all rolled their eyes at their friend.
"Okay... Okay..." He mumbled.
"Guys," Remus started, "I didn't even realise Regulus was talking to a girl. I didn't see her, let alone know her."
"I guess I'll just have to ask him my self then," Sirius huffed, disappointed.
Remus went back to reading, which didn't last long, since James Potter snatched the book away from him.
The book lover groaned, "Oh come on, Prongs. What now?"
"Sorry Rem, but now we've to discuss our plans on how to get Evans to go on a date with me."
Remus mentally face palmed at this, and slumped into his seat.

After what seemed like an eternity of the boys talking about Lily Evans, girls, and pranks, Lily Evans herself popped by their carriage looking for Remus.
"Hello Remus. We have a meeting in the Prefect carriage, remember?"
His eyes widened in realisation, he had almost completely forgotten he was a Prefect this year.
"Hello Evans, fancy seeing you here," James said in a cocky tone.
"Can't say the same for myself, Potter."
James' face dropped while the Marauders laughed. It was right for him to be put back in his place for once.
"You hurt me, Evans, right here," the messy haired boy said, pointing at his heart.
"Aw, too bad, need a little kiss to fix it?" The ginger asked sarcastically.
"Yes?"
"No."
"Oh."
"So Remus, are you coming or not?" Lily asked.
"Oh yes, sorry," he said, and grabbed his things.
He made his way out of his carriage and followed Lily, leaving the boys to their discussions, which he had had enough of.
As he and Lily walked toward the prefect carriage, they spoke of their summer and the O.W.Ls which were coming up this year.
When they arrived at the carriage, they noticed they were the last ones to arrive.
Lily politely excused herself, "Sorry we're a little late."
"No worries, we were just about start, just take a seat."
They both took their, and as Remus sat down, he noticed a Ravenclaw sitting a little further away. The girl didn't seem to be paying attention to what the Head Girl and the Head Boy were saying. She was reading Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen, a book which he had yet to read. She had shortish dark brown hair, some of which was hiding her face. She had a emotionless expression on her face, and her deep brown eyes were focused on the book.
Throughout the meeting, the boy found himself being distracted by the girl. To be fair, he wasn't interested by what the Head Girl and Boy had to say. Remus usually thought of himself as quite an observant person, so how had he never noticed her? Maybe he had in the past, but never really cared to know more. After all, it was only fair that he didn't talk to and know everybody.
She was one of the only who hadn't uttered a word the whole meeting, unlike her peers who asked quite a few questions. He hadn't noticed anyone say her name either. Remus wondered if Lily knew who she was. That girl talked, and got along with everyone.
When the meeting was over, Remus decided he would go talk to her, but to his surprise and disappointment, she was already gone.
I didn't even see her leave. Discrete.
He followed Lily out of the carriage as they made it back to their friends.
"You could be more discrete, you know," Lily told him.
"What are you talking about?"
"I mean you looking at that girl. It was so blatantly obvious that you were interested in her," the ginger smirked.
"Not that way. Just curious. I mean, didn't you find it odd that she was reading during a Prefect meeting."
"To be fair, it was our first Prefect meeting, but yeah, I see what you mean."
"Do you know her, or know of her by any chance?" He asked.
"I've seen her, but I have no idea who she is," Lily answered.
"Well, I guess we'll find out some day."
โฉโฉโพ๏ธโฉโฉ
Remus parted ways with Lily, and got into the carriage where his friends were waiting.
"Hey Moony, how was the meeting?" Sirius asked.
"Did you put in a good word for me to Lily?"
Remus rolled his eyes at James. That boy was relentless.
"The meeting was fine," he answered, "a little boring though."
"You never told us you were made Prefect," the Potter boy told his friend.
"Did I not? I guess it didn't cross my mind." He shrugged.
In fact, Remus had almost forgotten he was made Prefect until Lily reminded him.
"Dumbledore must have thought having Remus as a Prefect would stop up us from misbehaving," Sirius laughed, "but that won't stop us, right Moony?"
"Of course not," Remus answered quickly.
As much as he hated to admit it, he did enjoy some of the pranks. Though he did think they sometimes went a little overboard with Severus Snape.
"I think that will be an asset to our pranks," James said.
They all nodded in agreement.
"Moony, do you think you could bring me back some food after your Prefect rounds?" Peter asked.
"Sure, will do, Pete."
The boys started coming up with ideas for their future pranks, while Remus just stared out the window, still thinking of a certain girl.
โฉโฉโพ๏ธโฉโฉ
They all sat in the Great Hall listening to Dumbledore's speech. Nothing new really, except they had a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, again.
"Now let meal begin," Dumbledore announced.
Peter, unsurprisingly, was the first to dig in. He devoured dishes one by one.
"Woah, Pete you must hungry!" They all exclaimed.
"Remus," Sirius said, "see that girl reading a book at the far end of the Ravenclaw table, with Pandora Ollivander sitting next to her. That's the girl my brother was talking to."
Remus looked over at where his friend was pointing at.
What a coincidence...
"Wait, her, the brunette one?"
"Yup, that's the one."
"She was at the Prefect meeting."
"James," the raven-haired boy called, "that girl's a Prefect. Did you hear?"
"Oooh, Regulus going for older girls."
Sirius glared at him, at slapped him at the back of his head.
"Ow, not necessary," James whined, "everyone is abusing me today."
"And everyone is getting distracted today," Sirius complained. "So, Rem, did you catch her name?"
"Nobody addressed her, so no."
"Shame, guess I'm still going to ask Reg then."
Peter stopped eating for a bit, and asked, "what are we going to ask Sirius' brother?"
His friends all rolled their eyes at him.
"I'm going to ask him now," Sirius announced, "you guys coming?"
"Nah, I'll just stay and eat. I just love food."
"We know, Pete!" The boys all exclaimed.
"So James, Remus?"
"Sure, I'll come," Remus proposed.
This, of course, was due to his own curiosity about the girl. But Sirius didn't need to know about that, or Remus would never hear the end of it.
"Then I'll stay here, and keep Peter company," James declared.
"Ok then. Let's go, Remus."

As the two boys approached the Slytherin table, they were greeted by nasty glares from their rival house. It was no secret that the Slytherins were not the Marauders' biggest supporters.
"Come on, I know I'm good looking, but no need to stare," Sirius told them.
To this, the Slytherins all huffed, and went back to eating. Sirius, very content with himself, made his way to his brother, closely followed by Remus.
Regulus was sitting next to a Fifth Year named Apollo Sullivan. He was a year older than Regulus, the same age as the Marauders. He had been a close of friend of Regulus ever since the younger Black was sorted into Slytherin.
Now, Sirius quite liked Apollo Sullivan. He was unlike other Slytherins, kinder and less obsessed with the pure-blooded ideas, as he was a half-blood himself. Despite all this, he still fit into the Slytherin crowd. The older Black brother hadn't talked to him much, but from afar he could Apollo was a good and ideal friend for his brother. In any case, he couldn't be worse than the likes of Rosier or Avery, or even worse Snape.
"Hello brother dearest, how are you doing?"
"What do you want, Sirius?" Regulus asked in annoyance.
Remus watched as the scene developed with an amused grin on his face.
Well, this is going to be entertaining.
"I saw you talking to a hot girl on the train, so I was wondering-"
"Hot girl?" Apollo cut in. "Be careful with what you say, that's my sister you're talking about."
"Wait, you're sister?" Remus asked to clarify, as he couldn't quite believe what he had just heard.
"You have sister?!" Sirius exclaimed.
Apollo chuckled. "Yeah I do, twin sister in fact."
"How come practically nobody knows you have a twin sister?" Remus wondered.
"She doesn't really draw attention to herself," the Sullivan, boy explained, "she's way more reserved and quiet than I am. Also, she's in Ravenclaw, so we're not often seen together."
The two Gryffindors nodded, a little confused, but understanding.
Remus was also of more quiet and reserved nature, but being apart of the Marauders naturally drew attention to himself.
"So anything going on between you and her, Reg..." Sirius teased.
"Hell no! We were just asking her if she wanted to sit with us on the Hogwarts Express."
"And if anything were to be going on, I wouldn't allow it," Apollo warned.
The two Slytherins looked at each other and nodded in agreement.
Remus was dying to ask one question.
"What's her name?" He blurted out.
Apollo raised his eyebrows at the sudden question, and found the curiosity of the Gryffindor odd. Why would he want to know about his sister.
"Diane, Diane Sullivan, that's her name. But why ask, Lupin?
"N-no reason," he stuttered, "just curious."
Sirius looked at his friend amused, while Apollo looked at him quizzically.
"Well, I've said all I needed to say," Sirius announced.
With that the two boys walked away, heading towards their table, satisfied with what they had just found out,
"What was that all about, Remus?" the raven-haired boy asked.
"What was what about?"
"You know, the sudden curiosity... Is someone suddenly interested?"
"Shut up."
"Boy, someone's moody today," Sirius muttered, "is the full moon coming up?"
Remus kicked Sirius in the crotch.
"Just proves my point, Moony."
โฉโฉโพ๏ธโฉโฉ
"So?" James asked as his two friends approached.
"You'll never guess what we found out," Sirius said excitedly.
And so he started explaining what had happened, while Remus zoned out, thinking of one name he couldn't get out of his head.
Diane Sullivan.

That's chapter one complete!
Served a bit as an introduction to certain characters. Not the most exciting chapter, but it's only the first after all.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed it! Please vote and comment, I'd really appreciated some feedback and things I could improve one.
Have a nice day (or night, honestly who doesn't read at night )
question for you: what got you so interested in the Marauders Era?
my answer: I loved Remus and Sirius' characters from the get go, they were just so intriguing and good. I also wanted to know what Lily and James were like, seeing as though we never actually got to know them well except for flashbacks and all.
