"OMG! OMG! OMG! The Meredith Carter is going to the dance! I am literally freaking out right now. Like, we have to get you a dress! And oooh, how should we do your hair??" Enid shouts, rambling on and on about the dance and what color would best suit Meredith, who sat on her bed, kicking Wednesday.

"Well, if I have to go to the dance, then I'm making Wednesday go! I obviously can't go without my partner in crime, right Day?" Meredith laughs, shooting a pointed look towards Wednesday, whose face twists into disgust

"I would rather set myself on fire and have poisonous snakes bite me then go to a school dance" Wednesday quickly refuses the idea, almost wanting to laugh at Meredith for even trying to convince her.

"We have to go shopping!" Enid urges the two girls up and out of the door, Thing quickly hopping onto Wednesday shoulder.

Meredith smirks, her hand twisting in the air and suddenly a credit card was in her hand, "Now shopping is one thing I can get on board with, thank you daddy and mommy dearest. Everything is on me today" She laughs with a mischievous glint in her eye

I sure do love to piss off my parents, Meredith thinks to herself

Enid squeaks in excitement before glancing over at her, "Are you sure that's okay though, I wouldn't want you to get into any kind of trouble with your parents..." Her worriedness causes Meredith to scoff, "Trust me Enid, these pockets are deep, this trip will be nothing but pocket change. Trust me, I once spent five million dollars to keep a family silent about a certain situation and my parents didn't even blink" Meredith proudly states, leaving out the part that her parents are actually horrible human beings who forgot about their daughter.

Enid's jaw drops at the large sum of money that Meredith spent just to keep someone silent while Wednesday nods along with a hum as if she remembered, "That was when I pushed that man into the pool of sharks to see how they would react. That was a fun day" She almost smiles while Enid gulps, "Alrighty, enough with the creepy talk you two! We're almost to the boutique!" She excitedly looks out of the window of the car as they reached the town of 'normies' driving for a few more moments before coming to a stop.

The three girls exit the car to stand in front of a very bright color, frilly boutique. Wednesday face immediately twists into disgust, "What kind of dystopian hellscape is this?" She questions while Meredith puts her hands on her hip tilting her head, "Doesn't this look cheapy Enid? I thought we were going to pret-a-porter collection boutique, like where you buy it off the runway..." Meredith questions look up at the run-down boutique.

"It's our first roomie shopping spree! The dance committee is suggesting all-white to match the theme, buuut that's not gonna fly with us" Enid shrugs off the theme looking excitedly at the boutique, "Going against the norm, I love it E!" Meredith smiles, bumping hips with Enid while looking over at Wednesday, "We gotta find this one a date first though. Hmmmm, maybe a certain normie boy..." Meredith pretends to ponder before saying the name '".by the name of Tyler" She teases, nudging Wednesday whose face remains the same.

"No, I have more pressing business than to worry about finding a date for the Rave'N especially for a dance that I don't want to attend" She grumbles going to turn away and escape the two but a certain boy calls out to her, "Wednesday! What are you doing out here?" Tyler's familiar face coming into view.

"Oh hey Enid and Meredith! What are you guys up to?" He questions the three girls, "We're shopping for dress for our dance this weekend but we have reached a dilemma, maybe you can help Tyler?" Meredith faunts a frown, "Yeah of course, If there is anything I can help with, I would love to!" He smiles, quick to give his help

Meredith smirks inside, eyes glancing over at Wednesday who's eye twitches as if she already knew what Meredith was up to. "Well our dance is this weekend and Wednesday still doesn't have a date for our dance. Me and Enid are just both so sad if Wednesday were to show up without a date..." Meredith frowns leaning against Enid who decides to play along, "Extremely sad" Enid enunciates extremely, hoping to get the hint across to Tyler.

"Oh, I see" Tyler nods thoughtfully seeming to ponder his next move while Meredith and Enid both slowly back away leaving Wednesday behind with Tyler, "Thanks for the help Ty! We'll let you two chat!" Meredith smiles widely, winking at Wednesday as they enter the boutique. Girly giggles falling out of their mouths as they fist bump each other, "We are tots cupid!" Enid laughs before waving excitedly at a large group of girls wearing a nevermore uniform.

"You can head over and join them, I'm going to look over here for a bit" Meredith urges Enid to go join her other friends while Enid furrows her eyebrows, "Are you sure? We're supposed to be shopping as roomies well minus Wednesday.." Enid eager to include Meredith, "I can introduce you to them!" Enid proposes the idea but Meredith is quick to shoot the idea down

"It's fine really E, go join them! I don't get along well with others anyways" Meredith shakes her head, nudging Enid in their direction, "Okay but text me if you leave or if you find a dress!" Enid makes sure Meredith is okay before leaving to join her group of friends, squeals erupting from the group when she joins them.

Meredith sighs, her smile falling off of her face as she turns away from the group, her head hurting from sensing the overwhelming emotions of excitement and anxiety over the dance. She truly did not understand the excitement about a school dance but chose to go along with Enid to avoid hurting her feelings. She rubs her head, exiting the boutique to take a breather away from the emotions of others.

I just hope Wednesday is having better luck than me, Meredith thinks to herself as she walks around the buzzling town, the wind carrying a gentle breeze that calmed her. Her hands twisting the rings that adorn her fingers, tracing the C over and over, she was so lost in thought that she didn't realize someone was in front of her until it was to late, colliding with someone with a surprised yelp.

Warm hands are quick to stabilize her, "Are you okay mis- Oh Mere! What are you doing out in town?" Noah's familiar chuckle reaches her ears, his hands still on her shoulders as he grins down at her, curls messy and cheeks flushed

"I was dress shopping with Wednesday and Enid but I snuck out to get some fresh air. What are you doing? I thought there was lacrosse practice?" Meredith questions the tall boy who nods his head, "Practice got canceled because of the dance so me and a couple of friends came out to get some dinner" He grins, face flushing a deeper shade of red when he realizes that he was still holding onto her arms, "Oh sorry about that..." He mumbles letting go of her

"No you're good! I probably would have busted my head if you hadn't grabbed me. I really am jealous of those quick reflexes of yours!" Meredith laughs nudging his arm while he shrugs trying to be nonchalant, "It was nothing, just glad to save a damsel in distress" He puffs out his chest, "Oh so now I'm a damsel??" Meredith questions, quirking her head at his dramatics

"Well... that is why I saved you" his shoulder shrugging, a dimpled grin on his face. Meredith hums, hair swaying in the breeze, "Listen.. I've been meaning to ask you a question..?" Noah trails off, hands brushing through his hair and his eyes darting all over but on her. Her eyes try to catch his becoming confused as she sensed his sudden emotional turmoil.

"Are you feeling alright Noah? You've become a bit red in the face" Meredith questions, aware of his heightened nervousness but also worried for her friend who is seeming to scramble all over his words.

"W-well I was wondering if you would- or if you possibly would want to go to th-" Noah is tripping over his words, hands fidgeting but before he could finish his words, a tall muscular boy tackles him into a bro hug of some sort. Meredith takes a step back to avoid the two, "Noah! Dude we've been looking all over for you!!" The boy exclaims, elbowing Noah when he notices Meredith, a certain glint to his eye as if he recognized her.

"Meredith right?" The boy asks extending his hand towards her, "Yep, that's me" Meredith replies, shaking his hand while he wiggles his eyebrows at Noah, "This one doesn't ever shut up about you! I knew it was you from the way he talks about you" He laughs teasing poor Noah who looks like he would rather die than be here right now.

"I hope it was all bad things" Meredith jokes but apparently the two boys didn't catch the joke, Noah scrambling over his words, "All good things, I swear Meredith!" Noah trips over his words

"I was just playing around" She giggles watching Noah's friend comfort him. She glances down when her phone vibrates

Unknown: This is Wednesday. Meet me in my dorm.

Meredith's eyebrows furrow in confusion because one- how does Wednesday know how to use a phone and two- what is so important that she is texting instead of hunting her down. Meredith looks back up from her phone smiling at the two boys, "Well I'll quite bothering the two of you! I've gotta get some things done so I'll see you around" She waves goodbye watching as Noah goes to say something but chooses to stay silent, looking almost defeated.

She doesn't wait around for the two to say goodbye and instead starts her path back to the school. Meredith grumbles, "I'm far too lazy to make this walk....." she looks around seeing no one around before closing her eyes and focusing on the buzzing feeling of magic. She takes a deep breath and when she exhales and opens her eyes she was at the entrance of Nevermore.

Meredith smirks, silently pumping her fist in the air, "Hell yeah! Magic is so useful..."  Could she have walked? Yes. Was she fully capable of walking? Again yes. But did she really want to walk? No.

Meredith flicks her hands in front of the door causing it to open and as she went to walk inside, Xavier appears out of nowhere seeming extremely frustrated and upset. Her eyebrows furrow as she sensed his emotions, "Pretty boy? Are you feeling alright?" Genuine worry laced over her words, but he quickly dismisses them.

"You know, instead of lying to me and leading me on with the whole Rave'N, you could've just been honest with me that you were sneaking around and snooping through my things. I mean do you even care about my feelings- about anyone at all?" Xavier blows up, his frustration overwhelming.

Meredith blinks as she was shocked with his sudden outburst before becoming confused, 'how does he know that we were in his shack?'

"I'm sorry but what do you mean snooping around? That could have been anyone, why are you assuming it's me?" Meredith tries to cover for both her and Wednesday, unaware that Wednesday has already exposed the two of them.

"Are you being serious right now?... Wednesday told me when she came to confront me about being the monster, everything clicked when I realized she had one of my drawings." Xavier frowns, "You know what? This is unbelievable. I don't even want to talk to you anymore. I can't believe I thought you were being genuine for once" He scoffs, grazing her shoulder as he stomped away from her

Meredith blinks looking around at the nosy bystanders, "He's clearly very upset.." She mumbles before walking away to find Wednesday, annoyance building up inside of her.

"Wednesday Addams! I can't believe you snitched me out! So not cool" Meredith shouts as she bursts into her and Enid's shared dorm.

Wednesday stood in the corner as if she was aware that this was coming, "I was not aware of how smart Xavier was to put two and two together. Nevertheless, everything is clicking together, and all fingers are pointing towards Xavier being the monster." Wednesday's monotone voice states, shrugging off Meredith's clear frustration.

"Okay, pause. What do you mean snitching and what do you mean Xavier is the monster?" Enid questions the two girls. Meredith is quick to pour her frustrations out as she pointed an accusing finger towards Wednesday, "Because of Wednesday, Xavier is super pissed at me for snooping around his art shed and accusing him of being the monster. Now I don't have a date to this stupid dance and only true weirdos have no dates..." Meredith whines, trying to play off her true feelings. She was genuinely upset about the whole ordeal but still doesn't know how to process her emotions.

"Oh no, I'm so sorry Mere. That is so not cool of you Wednesday.... you're drowning my ship before it's even sailed" Enid shakes her head with a disapproving sigh

Meredith sighs, "Can't do much now" she shrugs before looking at Wednesday, "Make me feel better by telling me that Tyler is taking you to the dance" She pouts, hoping that Tyler did ask Wednesday in the end. A large smile spread across Meredith's face when she sees Wednesday grimace, "Yes. He did ask me, and I am extremely disappointed to admit that I am going. I would much rather stab myself in the eyes then go" Wednesday grumbles while Meredith and Enid grab each others hands, loud squeals erupting from the two.

"Our ship is sailing!" They jump up and down in excitement for Wednesday who blinks at the two, completely unimpressed, "Okay you two can stop that now" She frowns while the two smile

"Well at least there is a Brightside to this day..." Meredith states, twirling a piece of her hair as she goes to sit down on the edge of Enids bed.

"Speaking of dates, did you ever ask Ajax?" Meredith questions Enid who's shoulders slump in defeat, "No, I didn't. This gargoyle girl got to him before I did and now I'm going with Lucas freaking Walker, can you believe??" Enid groans, faceplanting into her pillow while Meredith rubs her back in comfort.

"Trust me Enid, It will all work out in the end" Meredith tries her best to comfort the girl, her phone buzzing. Meredith hums, curious to see who was texting her this late at night

Noah Harte: I heard that you don't have a date to the dance tomorrow night. Would you consider going with me?

You know maybe the dance won't be all too bad tomorrow.
