Extracurricular Activities ....?

AFTER the talk with the sheriff and giving her statement, Meredith was left alone to her own thoughts. Her mind was in pieces trying to figure out the whole Rowan situation with him being seen in one piece. It just didn't make sense because they saw the boy literally get ripped to pieces. Meredith rubs her head beginning to feel restless about the whole situation, something was off with this town, this school. Ever since she's arrived here, she could feel her powers beginning to become more restless, slowly losing what little control she had over them. She was starting to hear the voices again, whispers scratching at the back of her head, speaking of things that hadn't even happened yet. Her eyes snap forward to the window that was beginning to crack from the overwhelming power that was surrounding Meredith.

Meredith huffs, grabbing her things and leaving the one place she found refuge, but it seemed more like a hellhole now. She stomps her way towards Enid, hoping the bubbly girl could put her in a better mood but she was stopped by Noah. Meredith smiles up at the boy, not seeing him since the last time they spoke. 

"Meredith! I haven't seen you since the last time we talked!" He exclaims, greeting the small strawberry blonde with a large smile

"Yeah, I'm sorry about that, I'm still getting used to this school" Meredith shrugs, flinching when Noah excitedly pushes his phone into her face

"Here! put your phone number in here so we can talk more!" Noah smiles watching Meredith type her phone number into his phone

"You can text if you need anything or help around here! We're friends now so you can count on me!" He exclaims looking back behind him as his friends shout for him to come back and help

"Seems like you're busy, I'll let you go..." Meredith smiles up at the brunette boy looking past him at the group of burly boys who were becoming restless

"Never busy for a friend, just text me, okay?" Noah asks, shaking his hand towards the group of boys to wait

"I will" Meredith promises, pushing the large boy away from her and towards the awaiting werewolves who ruffle his hair causing Meredith to giggle unaware of the pair of narrowed hazel eyes. Xavier huffs looking away from the two and getting back to painting his team's boat for the Poe cup competition.

"Dude are you okay?" Ajax asks the boy who shakes his head, jealously brewing at the bottom of his stomach.

"Yeah, I'm good " He mumbles, furrowing his eyebrows glancing back towards Meredith who took a seat next to Yoko, smirking towards Enid who was all over the place.

Meredith could feel eyes at the back of her head, but she was far too lazy to turn her head, instead turning towards Enid who was pacing back and forth, critically analyzing the boat.

"Ladies come on! Let's work on those teeth" Enid shouts causing Yoko to raise her eyebrow at Enid

"More scowl, this kitty is taking no prisoners" She shakes her head looking towards Meredith who was lazily sitting back in the chair watching the thing go down

"Competitive, huh?" Meredith smirks, crossing her legs over one another

"Bianca wins ever year, this year I'm determined to win. If not, I will literally scratch my own eyes out" Enid scowls, determined to win as Meredith nods her head "I've tried that, definitely not fun" Enid's determination turns into confusion as she looks at Meredith who shrugs, waving towards Wednesday who appears behind Enid.

"I would pay money to see that" Wednesday states causing Enid to turn around, a wide smile spreading across her face. "Howdy Roomie! I'm so glad you two decided to stay!" She exclaims, twisting her arms in front of her while Wednesday stays confused about how someone can be so joyous all the time.

"I thought you said you wanted your one room back?" Wednesday states with her arms crossed

"I don't like being alone, I've been wanting a roommate for a long time plus Thing gives a killer neck massage! It's a win- win" Enid smiles brightly

"So, why the change of heart? Maybe a certain boy..." Enid trails off, glancing towards Meredith who nods her head, teasing Wednesday who grunts in disgust.

"No, I refuse to be a pawn in someone else's corrupt game" Wednesday states looking towards Meredith who got chips from somewhere

"You mean Rowan?" Enid asks as Meredith looks away from her bag of chips towards Enid

"I witnessed his murder, Enid" Wednesday flatly says looking towards Meredith who nods with her mouth full

"Yeah, I was there too! His body was ripped into pieces, blood everywhere, you could even see his brains, super nast-" Meredith was cut off by Enid who waves her hand in front of her, a look of disgust on her face

"Okay I do not need the details about that! Ew!" She grimaces

"But we all, you know, saw him this morning, very much like not dead and in one piece"

  "I know. Which leads me to believe that I have lost my mind" She states

"It's not nearly as fun as I had anticipated" Wednesday drops her arms in disappointment while Meredith snorts "Definitely not fun" She pipes in, watching over Yoko shoulder as she paints a deeper scowl onto the boat

"You're Nevermore's gossip Queen, what's Rowan's story?" Wednesday asks

"Other than being a weird loner-- no offense - no one knows much about him" Enid shrugs but looks towards Meredith

"But, Xavier Thorpe's his roommate, maybe if Meredith calls him, you can just text or call him!" Enid exclaims looking back towards Yoko

"Yoko, Come one! Flare the whiskers" Enid points while Yoko drops her shoulders

"The Poe Cup droops for no one" Enid flares while Wednesday looks towards Meredith with raised eyebrows

"What is this Poe Cup anyways?" Wednesday asks

"My entire reason for living right now, part canoe race and part foot, no rules" Enid smiles

"Sounds fun, you should join Wednesday" Meredith smirks towards Wednesday who frowns

"Each dorm has to pick an Edgar Poe short story for inspiration" Enid smiles

"Would you like to join us? Take a stab at being social like Meredith ! Ms. Thornhill even ordered pizza" Enid invites Wednesday to join them

"I do like stabbing, the social part not so much. Besides It'll cut into my writing time" Wednesday states

"No worries. Just as long as you're there cheering us on in the sidelines!.. Or you can just glare at me uncomfortably" Enid smiles, delivering a wink to the monotone girl.

MEREDITH stood beside Wednesday, watching Wednesday stomp her way towards their first stop at joining an extracurricular activity. First on the list was choir, Bianca, being the head of the club and watching in distaste as they approach. Meredith sends a wink towards Bianca who rolls her eyes, crossing her hands over her chest.

"Weems said you two would be stopping by. But to be honest, your performance at the Harvest Festival, drama club might suit you better" Bianca smiles down at the two of them causing Meredith to raise her eyebrow

"I know what I saw and I'm telling the truth" Wednesday states

"Let's just get this audition over, what are you alto, soprano, or just loco" Bianca smirks causing the group of sirens to laugh

Wednesday rolls her eyes and opens her mouth, the glass around them cracking at the high pitch while Meredith let out a cracked off pitch sound that caused everyone to wince. Meredith smiles in joy, her eyes brightening "That was good, huh?" Meredith asks proudly

"It was horribly off pitch, and you couldn't even hear yours" Bianca points out causing Meredith to droop with defeat "Guess my dreams of becoming a famous singer are done for" she mumbles looking towards Wednesday who nods

" Mine was only a note dogs can hear" She states turning around and leaving the sirens to practice, Meredith following behind as they approached Xavier. Meredith begins to become nervous the closer they get to the tall boy who shoots an arrow, missing the bullseye but close enough to count.

"Huh? Looks like you actually showed up" He states looking towards Wednesday before greeting Meredith with a shy smile

"Have you two ever shot a bow and arrow" He asks the two

"Only on live targets" They both reply in sync causing Meredith to lightly smack Wednesday

"Jinx! You owe me a chocolate bar!" Meredith exclaims while Wednesday huffs in annoyance

"Okay I'm gonna ignore the live target thing" He begins to explain to them the stance for shooting a bow and arrow "Square stance. Load the arrow like this, yellow side out, and three fingers" He shoots the arrow and they both watch as it goes through the target

"Any questions?" He asks looking towards Meredith who claps

"When's the last time you saw your roommate, Rowan?" Wednesday begins to question Xavier while Meredith plays with the bow, running her fingers across it.

"You mean the one that was killed by a monster?" He replies back with raised eyebrows, grabbing another arrow and ready to fire it "The Harvest festival was the last place I talked to him" He lets the arrow fly

"His side of the room was cleaned and packed up. He's always been a little weird and off but the last couple of weeks, he's been more ...erratic" Xavier feeds Wednesdays curiosity, glancing behind her to stare at Meredith who was now laying on the ground, watching the lacrosse player's practice. His jaw clenches when he realizes that she was staring at Noah who was in the middle of the field, making a clear shot past the goalie. He rolls his eyes and looks back down at Wednesday who urges for him to continue.

Meredith grew bored of archery and Wednesday questioning Xavier. She looks down at the list to see what was next which was bee- keeping, Meredith deciding ahead of time to skip that one. When she looked up again, Wednesday had made a bullseye with an apple at the end of the arrow. "Let's go, Meredith" Wednesday says watching the girl rise from the floor

"Yeah, I'm gonna have to skip the next one... you know how I am around bees..." Meredith trails off, scratching the back of her neck. "Yes, I remember your fear of them, truly a weakness of yours" Wednesday shakes her head, leaving her behind without a second thought. Meredith hums, going to leave to the third extracurricular activity on the list before Xavier stopped her, grabbing her wrist, causing that same sensation to spread across her body.

"Where are you going?" Xavier questions Meredith who arches an eyebrow towards him

"Uhh the next activity" Meredith states, looking up at Xavier who seems like he wants to say more.

"Is there something going on between you and Noah?" He blurts out nervously, watching a wide smile spread across Meredith's face.

"No!... are you jealous, pretty boy?" Meredith teases the tall boy who flushes at the mention of him being jealous

"No, of course not, we're friends" He begins to nervously ramble, a blush forming on his face and spreading down his neck. "Wow, I've never been friend zoned so fast in my life" Meredith pouts watching Xavier have a nervous breakdown, shaking his hands and watching as his eyes widen in panic.

"No, no, no, that's not what I'm saying either, not tha-" He was cut off by Ajax approaching the two, patting his friend on the back and fist bumping Meredith who nods her head towards Ajax

"I'll leave him to you!" Meredith exclaims, sending a wink towards Xavier who begins to short-circuit watching her walk away from him as Ajax begins to question what happened and why he was so red.

Who would have guessed that Wednesday had joined the bee club and Ophelia the cheer team....
