Dream sat with her knees to her chest, and her elbow was on the armrest on the couch while her hand was keeping her head held up. Every so often, her eyes dazed closed, but within moments she caught herself from completely drifting off to sleep.

It was currently nearing five in the morning, and she hadn't been to sleep since that nap she took yesterday. She was trying to get some of her assignments finished up early since there was nothing else to do, but she wasn't focused enough.

The cold temperatures of the room and how dark it was had her dozing off with her iPad in her lap every few seconds. She honestly didn't know why she was fighting her sleep as hard as she was.

After taking a hot shower last night, Kentrell had finally been able to fall asleep; but it was mostly because Dream had did it by rubbing his face for over an hour. If she hadn't, he probably would've still been up.

So, it had just been her and Midnight awake, but even he had fallen asleep around three something this morning. Dream just couldn't get the memo.

Snapping out of her thoughts, her head picked up at the sounds of Dayvon's heart machine beeping just a tad bit faster than normal, and it wasn't even really noticeable, but Dream had studied the exact pattern of his relaxed state.

She figured that maybe she was imagining things since she was tired, but stood up from the long couch anyway just to go and check on him. The nurses told them last night that it was now up to him to wake up on his own, but Dream wasn't expecting him to do so this soon.

Intertwining their fingers, she held on to his hand, waiting to see if he would give her another sign. As soon as she touched him, the beeping noises went up another notch, and her eyes lit up.

She tried not to panic because she didn't want to overwhelm him or cause herself to overreact, so she carefully sat besides him on the bed, still holding his hand in hers.

"Can you hear me? You have to calm down, okay? You're still healing from your surgeries so you can't let your heart rate get too high." She used her thumb to rub the back of his hand, reciting the same things the nurse had told her.

Going against what she had said, his heart rate steadily increased, and Dream reached over to grab the remote that would call the nurse into the room.

Dayvon was afraid. He physically didn't have the strength to open his eyes, and he was also trying to talk, but couldn't get his mouth to move. It was like his own body was silencing him. It was terrifying.

"I'm right here baby. It's just me and Trell here. You're okay, you have to calm down for me, please?" She had her eyebrows furrowed with concern, at this point knowing that he could hear her.

Dream leaned her head down to leave a soft kiss on his cheek, and within moments, the pace of the beeping noises began to slow down as he grew comfortable under her touch, wishing so badly that he could just open his eyes to look at her.

"I'm not going anywhere, and I'm not rushing you. So don't rush yourself. Take your time papa." She laid down next to him, lifting his covers to pull them over herself.

She listened to the heart monitor slow all the way back down to his normal rhythm, and she blew out a quiet breath of relief. If his heart rate had gotten too high while he was still in this coma, he could've sent himself into shock. She was so glad that she was able to calm him down.

"I haven't been to sleep since you were admitted. When we get back home, you owe me so many ass rubs. Lit-trah-lee." She wrapped her arm over his body, chuckling to herself because she knew he hated when she talked in her fake British accent.

"I miss you so much Salem. I'm sorry this happened to you baby."

"I'm sorry for how I was acting with you the other day, too. I shouldn't have gotten upset with you for your decision. I'm still proud of you regardless. I wish I could go back in time and keep you home that day. You scared the shit out of me, Von. We not doing this again."

"Kentrell gave you his blood because you lost a lot from being shot in your stomach. The nurse said you probably won't be able to walk on your own once you do wake up; but it'll be just for a few hours at most. Um.. what else happened.."

"Oh yeah, Kentrell went and fought Ben. Montana sent him pictures of what he did, and, whew. That man is literally a maniac. He don't play about you though." She chuckled, shaking her head at the picture Kentrell had showed her a few hours earlier.

"And one more thing happened. A good thing. I'll give you a hint." She turned over to lay on her back, pulling up the hoodie she wore. She carefully guided his hand to rest on her stomach, letting him feel how firm it was.

"Yepppp. We gon' have some babiessss." A smile replaced her expression, and it spread further after his heart monitor picked up again.

"Wait, wait, calm down. I don't know if it's twins yet. It might only be one." She laughed, figuring that he had gotten excited while his hand remained there on her stomach.

"He up?" Kentrell's voice rasped from the couch, standing up not too soon after Dream's laughter had woken him up.

"Not yet. He can hear me though. I told him about the baby." She chuckled, stretching her arms out to him after he'd made it to her side of the bed. Her smile was still painted on her face as she gave him a warm hug, before pulling back.

"Wake yo' bitch ass up." He kissed Dayvon's forehead next, and Dream amusingly rolled her eyes, watching as he walked to the bathroom.

"Folks 'nem tripping, on King David." She mocked Dayvon's usual phrase, and deepened her voice too, earning a laugh from Kentrell.

"Hell nah. King David gon' beat yo' ass." He laughed, and Dream did too, smiling so hard that she was afraid her jaws might break. It would've been worth it though.

"Baby, if you don't wake up, on King David I'm from 63rd now. I'ma suck Tooka d-,"

"Gave yo' ass a inch and you took a mile. Shut that shit up Nana." Kentrell spoke to her from the bathroom, his laughs immediately halting, which only made Dream laugh harder.

"Oh well. He didn't wake up so I know where I'm from. Matter fact, we all from there. I'ma log on his Instagram account and post that. O Blo-I mean L block, finna disown him." She shrugged her shoulders, but still smiled once Kentrell's laughter returned.

"His ass gon' get you for dissing. You know he don't play that." He walked out of the bathroom, and Dream shrugged again, scooting over to make some room for him.

"I love him so much. I love you so much too." She put her leg over him as soon as he laid down with her, and he chuckled, kissing her face.

"I love you more. You ain't been to sleep yet, have you?" He noticed her red eyes, and she shook her head no.

"I can't go to sleep until he wakes up. I feel like if I do, I might lose him. That's what happened to my mommy. I took a nap, and when I woke up, the doctors had told me she only had maybe a few minutes left. And I know that he's okay, but I'm still scared." She revealed, quietly sighing to herself. She missed her mom, badly.

"What was she like?" Kentrell asked her since she had never really spoken with them about her mom. It was too much of a sensitive subject for her.

"I don't wanna talk about that." She wrapped her arm him, and his hand went to her scalp, letting her lay her head on his chest.

"That's aight. I wish we could've met her though. I ah' tell her how annoying yo' ass is. How you wake me up by licking my face like a fucking weirdo everyday," He shook his head, and Dream laughed, rolling her eyes.

"She used to do that to me. That's where I got it from. I hated it. She used to stick her wet finger in my ear too. Oh my god." She face palmed herself, disgusted by just merely thinking of it, making Kentrell smile.

"She was so childish, and she hated serious stuff. I used to find her annoying when I was young, but now, I realize that she was just trying to help me be a kid. Or maybe she was living her young adult life as best as she could. Life was so hard for her."

"Sometimes I feel guilty that I live as well as I do now. She should've got that chance too." She mumbled, quietly sighing once more.

"You shouldn't feel guilty when you know that she did everything for you. This is what she wanted for you. And she ah' be proud of who you are today. The way you always there for everybody, how naturally happy you always are-even when shit get hard. It's so easy fa' you to put a smile on somebody else face."

"Then, you grateful as hell. Nigga ah' give you a sandwich and you ah' swear Jesus came down and kissed that shit. You smarter than anybody else I know, and you sweet as hell too. She did good with you, and you did good with yourself."

Kentrell's hands rubbed through her scalp while he talked to her, and by this time she was crying. Him and Von always knew just want to say to make her heart swell with happiness. She didn't know how she'd been chosen to be around such great people.

"I love you so much. Thank you baby." She wrapped her arms around his neck, and he hugged her back, letting it linger for as long as she wanted.

Honestly, Dream really did wish her mom had the chance to meet him and Von. They were probably the best things that could've ever happened to her. It had been nothing but a continuous flow of blessings since the relationship had officially started.

Now, was excited that they would be bringing a baby into the world. Having a happy family had always been a goal of hers, and she was overjoyed, even under these crazy circumstances. Dream hoped that she could be at least half as great of a mom that her own mother was. That would be her biggest accomplishment yet.

"I love you too. Gimme some." He leaned his head down, and she pressed her lips against his, holding his face in her hands. When they pulled away, she gave him one more hug, before finally letting him go.

"And I love you so much. I can't wait to hear you say it again." She softly kissed Von's lips, moving his dreads out of his face. She wanted to hear him say it back so badly. This was draining. She couldn't even imagine what it felt like for him.

"Don't get sad Nana. You know he love you."

"I know. I just miss hearing him say it."

Dream used a small rag to wipe over Von's face, currently doing his morning routine for him since he obviously couldn't do it on his own. She didn't want his face to break out while he was in the hospital, so she made sure to do it every morning.

She was currently there alone, because Kentrell had left to stop at the house and grab them more clothes, as well as feed Midnight his raw food since he'd been surviving off of vending machine food with them.

It was now approaching noon, and the nurse would be there in an hour to check Dayvon's vitals, once again. Dream had been praying all morning, and was hopeful that he would wake up today.

She had gospel music playing from her iPad, just to keep good energy flowing through the room. She knew that God would always make a way for her, but listening to music that talked about it made her feel better when she started to lose faith.

To pass the time, she tidied up the large hospital room, though it wasn't really dirty. She just didn't have much else to do, and didn't have the mental capacity to study for her assessment that was coming up-procrastinating, as always.

Her phone buzzed with a text message, and she walked over to grab it from the couch area, seeing that Jayda had texted her. A small disagreement started, and Dream was a bit irritated by the time Jayda sent her last message.

In all honesty, Dream truly hadn't been ignoring her. Now, avoiding? That was a different story. She couldn't deny being upset at the way she'd treated Ariana compared to a man that had been dogging her out for the last few years.

So, no, she didn't see a point in talking to her right now. She hated choosing sides when it came to Jayda and Ariana, but sometimes one of them really was wrong, and she had to pick a side. That didn't mean it would last forever though. She had actually planned to talk to Jayda whenever they were able to leave the hospital.

She hoped that the breakup between the two of them didn't affect their friendship. Although, she knew that it most likely would. Ariana was stubborn as hell, and Jayda was too. It would probably be awhile before the two could even be cordial again. Dream hated that.

Snapping out of her thoughts, her head picked up once Dayvon's monitor pace changed. Surprisingly, he had figured out how to overwhelm himself in a non-harmful manner that would send his heart rate up, just to get her attention. He was too smart.

"I'm here papa. What is it?" She rested her hand in his while standing over him, even though he obviously couldn't respond. Suddenly, his finger placed on top of hers, and she literally flinched out of shock, pulling her hand back.

"Oh my god. Hold on. I'll call a nurse for you. Shit, you scared me." She tried to regulate her breathing, pressing down on the nurses button, then she grabbed his hand again.

"Hold my hand baby." She used her thumb to rub over his soft skin, and a few moments later, his hand twitched in hers-as if he was trying to work up the strength to actually hold her hand.

A low groan came from him, and she tried not to cry, knowing how hard he was trying to communicate with her. She couldn't imagine being in this position that he was in, where his own body silenced him.

"I'm getting you some help baby." She kissed his cheek, listening to the steady beeps of his monitor increase again.

"You called, Ms.Saja?" A nurse walked inside with her assistant trailing behind her, and Dream pulled back from Dayvon.

"He's waking up, I think. He was making noise and his hand moved. I just want you to check on him and see if you could help, please." She still held on to his hand, but made room for the nurse to stand near him as well.

"Of course. Dayvon, my name is Nurse Stella. I'm just going to check your vitals, and then run some tests to see what I can do for you." She voiced, using her stethoscope to physically check his head rate.

Dream watched her do a few more bodily tests, such as his joint movement, and then her assistant checked to see if any propofol was still lingering in his body after doing a mouth swab.

"If you can, try to lift this finger for me." Stella used a medical instrument to tap his thumb, watching as it slowly lifted up. It took some time, but eventually, he worked up the strength to finally snap himself awake.

As soon as Dream met his brown eyes, tears slid down her cheeks, a toothy smile replacing the small pout that she once wore. She was so proud of him, and she'd missed his face so much.

"You have the sweetest face ever. I missed you so much." She sniffed, now hugging around his body as best as she could without hurting him. She felt him leave a kiss on her face, and her tears fell quicker.

"It might be a few minutes before he can start talking. Since he hasn't done so in a few days, his throat is probably very dry. You can give him some water with the straw, and I'll go prep to take his catheter out." Stella told her, referring to what controlled his bowel movements while he'd been in the coma.

"Thank you so much." Dream wiped her face, and soon enough, only her and Dayvon remained in the room.

Dream then grabbed a cup of ice water left by Stella's assistant, and held the straw up to Dayvon's mouth. She attentively watched him while he drunk the water, and could almost see the relief struck across his expression.

"I love you." Was the first thing he said, his voice as hoarse and raspy as ever, but it made Dream so happy.

"I love you more baby. I'm so proud of you." She used her sleeve to wipe her face, before giving him another hug. His arms wrapped carefully around her body, sighing to himself. He'd missed the simplicity of being able to hug her.

"Kentrell said he'll be here in a few minutes. He's stuck in traffic, but he got you some more clothes. Do you want more water?" She asked him, and he shook his head no, placing his hand over his eyes.

The illuminated lights were straining his vision, and only added on to the crippling pain of his migraine. He'd never felt a headache as strong as this one, which was to be expected after waking from a coma.

Dream took notice of how he was shielding his eyes, so she went to turn the lights off, letting the sun that shined through the curtains be the only source of light to remain in the room.

"How do you feel? Do you need something?" She held his hand again, hoping that she wasn't overcrowding him.

"A shower." He chuckled, slowly removing his forearm from his eyes, and a smile fell over her face.

The nurses eventually came back in, and it took them around fifteen minutes to remove his urinary catheter. They had to cut the valve from the balloon port, pull the actual mini tube out, then threw out all of the tubing and cleaned him up.

A male doctor helped Dream get Dayvon into a wheelchair, and then they were left to themselves again. Another doctor would be coming a little later to determine if Dayvon would be able to go home soon or not.

"This shit fu' as hell, man." Dayvon held his head that was throbbing in pain, now in the bathroom with Dream while she got him a shower started.

"I'm sorry papa." She wrapped her arms around his torso, and he used one of his arms to hold around her neck, able to stand to his feet with her help.

"This gay ass dress. I hate hospitals." He muttered, and she laughed, earning a smile from him. All he had been doing was complaining since he'd been up.

"I missed you ma." He rubbed his hands down her hips, and she hugged around his neck, letting it linger.

"And I ain't forget 'bout yo' punk ass saying you gon' suck Tooka dick. As soon as I can send that hit out, folks 'nem gon' murk yo' ass, on King David." He held her body close, and she laughed again, rolling her eyes.

"I'm sorry pumpkin. I just wanted you to get up." She amusingly smiled, shrugging her shoulders. Before he could respond, barking could be heard from the room, and both of their heads turned.

Von chuckled, having to catch himself from falling as Kentrell grabbed him up in a sudden hug, almost taking him off of his feet. His arms went around Kentrell's neck, and he leaned his head down to kiss the side of his face.

"I love you so much. I'm sorry. I should've been there wit' you." Kentrell kissed his chiseled jawline, and Von tilted his head back, pressing his lips against his in a soft kiss.

"I love yo' life shordy. Through whatever."
