Dream sat in her last class of the day, seeming like she was witnessing Deja Vu as she forced herself to stay awake. It made no sense how tired she was today, and there was no one to blame but herself.

Honestly, she would've been went to sleep in this class, but this was the type of professor to embarrass the students for things like that as if this was still high school.

Dream had stayed up all night long doing her homework again, only because she'd put it off to spend time with Dayvon. She had began to slack in school and hadn't even realized it.

She figured that she would go home today and get caught up on everything-as soon as she took a nap. She could barely even keep her eyes opened right now.

Instead of falling asleep in class, Dream packed all of her things up in her bookbag, and quietly stood to her feet. She walked down the side staircase, eventually making it out of the door as stealthily as she could.

As if the universe was praying on her downfall, her phone began to ring as soon as she made it out of the building, and she groaned in annoyance, hoping nobody needed her.

"Hello?" She mumbled, answering without even checking who's contact it was.

"What you doing right now? You got time to talk?" Von's voice came through her speaker, and her eyebrows sort of frowned in confusion.

"Talk about what? Did I do something wrong?" She asked, unsure of what he needed to talk about. It sounded serious.

"Nah, I did." He truthfully told her, and she didn't respond, pulling her phone from her ear once it made a beeping noise. She accepted his FaceTime request, hitting the unlock button on her key fob at the same time.

"Well. What did you do?"

"Why you saying it like that, like you don't care?"

"All I asked was what you did. You literally just left yesterday. What happened that quickly?" She chuckled, cranking her car up, and then she positioned her phone in the dash stand.

"I-uh, I kissed somebody else. I ain't want to hide it from you 'cause I don't want you to feel like I'm playing wi-," Dream didn't even give him time to finish before she ended the call. What the hell?

She stared ahead of her at the green grass of one of the campus's lawns, hearing her phone ring again, but she didn't even reach to answer it.

Since this was her first situation-ship, she didn't even know how to respond to that. It was so random. She knew that her and Dayvon weren't officially together, but she thought it was obvious that it was what they were heading towards.

Then, she became aggravated at how he'd tried to excuse himself by saying he didn't want her to feel like he was playing with her. She felt far beyond being played with. Especially since he'd literally just told her he would never hurt her.

She felt stupid. She should've known better, and honestly she hated herself for even trying with him. This was so random, and she knew from the beginning that it was way too good to be true.

A low, genuine gasp of surprise slipped from her lips once she realized that her cheeks were wet, meaning that she was crying. Her feelings were hurt, badly.

"Stop it," She scolded herself, sniffling while using the back of her hand to wipe away the tears. What a way to ruin her day.

Her phone rung for the third time, and she got herself together so that it didn't look like she'd been crying, before declining his call, then she blocked his number. There was no point in trying to communicate with him right now. She was pissed.

Honestly, she wished that he would've just never told her. It wasn't like she would find out on her own anyway because she didn't even think he would be the type of person to do something like that. That was her first mistake.

As she began her drive home, she had to repeatedly tell herself that it wasn't that serious for her to be crying. They'd only been talking for a little over two weeks, and she shouldn't have gotten attached so quickly.

Plus, he was a high class celebrity, and she was just a regular girl from a strict, crazy, Amish community. That wouldn't have worked out. He deserved a girl of his status, and it was her fault for thinking she could ever fill that role.

When she made it home, the first thing she did was shower, and change into a black Nike Tech set that one of her friends got her last Christmas. Then, she prepared lunch for Midnight, and when he finished eating, Dream took him on a walk.

"I should've let you bite him." She muttered, her right hand stuffed in her pocket as she strolled the sidewalk.

"Hi Dreamy!" A few kids waved at her from the opposite sidewalk, drawing with chalk on the concrete.

"Hey y'all," She waved back, and headed over there because she knew they wanted to pet and play with Midnight.

The Amish community was really big on pets, and thought of them as emotional support beings sent to Earth by God to help his disciples. Unfortunately, not all of them could afford one, and they definitely couldn't drive out of town to a shelter and adopt one. There was only a handful of people out of the nine hundred that lived there that actually left out of the gated community.

Like previously stated, the Amish were really strict on their beliefs, and the main belief was to stay out of the outside world. They believe outside culture has a morally polluting effect, and promotes pride, greed, immorality and materialism.

Amish beliefs also include the concept that God will judge them on how well they obeyed the church rules during their lifetime, and contact with the outside world makes it harder to obey those rules. The Amish point to this Bible verse as a reason for their isolation: "Come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord." (2 Corinthians 6:17, KJV).

So, nobody stepped out of the community unless it was a literal life-threatening emergency. Well, besides Dream, of course. She had never been the one to obey the Amish, which is pretty obvious by now.

There wasn't really a reason to leave though, especially if being kept in Montezuma was all you knew. There was a supermarket, a school, obviously a church, and even a recreational center with a lake. That wasn't enough to satisfy Dream though, and honestly, she couldn't wait to finally move.

"Bye y'all," She waved, pulling Midnight away after seeing him visibly become bothered. He obviously didn't like all the sticky, dirty hands running through his freshly polished mane.

He rubbed against her leg as if he was thanking her, and she chuckled, able to rub behind his ear without having to lean over. He was such a big dog, sometimes she forgot just how truly big he was.

She felt her phone begin to buzz in her pocket, and she pulled it out, a smile growing her face at the same time that she rolled her eyes at the contact that flashed across the screen.

"The answer is, no." She spoke once the call connected, turning on her heels to lead Midnight back to the house.

"Sistaaaaa, I haven't even asked yet!" Jayda groaned in annoyance, making sure it was loud enough for Dream to hear, which earned a laugh from her.

"I don't feel too good J. Maybe next weekend." She shrugged, but both of them knew she most likely wouldn't be going anywhere next weekend either.

"Fine. Promise, though?"

"I promise." Dream agreed. She figured she would use the next few days to recuperate from her miniature heartbreak-or whatever it was-and then show her ass next weekend, just because Dayvon played with her.

They talked on the phone for a little while longer, up until Dream made it back home, before finally ending the call with an 'I love you'.

When Dream got back to her bedroom, Midnight cuddled up her side while she scrolled through her tattoo artist's Instagram page. She pondered on going to get some ink today. It was her favorite stress reliever.

To be honest, she didn't even know what she was stressing over. She just found it so hard to believe that she actually thought-even for just a moment-that Von could possibly end up as her first boyfriend. Just for it to all be thrown away for a kiss.

"Ughhh." She groaned, burying her face into her pillow. This was so stupid.

Her head popped up after hearing knocks on her front door, and then her doorbell rung twice, making her eyebrows furrow in confusion. Next, her phone buzzed with a notification, and once she read over it, her eyes went wide.

Her heart was now racing, and she wasn't sure why. She didn't want to face him, because she knew that she was naive as hell. As soon as he apologized, she'd forgive him, just because she didn't want him to leave her.

He was the first person outside of people she'd been knowing for years that she'd allowed to get this close to her. It hadn't even been a month yet and she was already regretting it. That's why she didn't do this often.

She sent Midnight to his doggy bed, and then approached her front door, reaching up to wipe the tear that had fell from her eye. Now wasn't the time to be crying-especially in front of him.

She used the bottom of her shirt to completely dry her face, and followed up with sniffing to clear her nose so that it seemed as if she had never been crying.

As soon as Dayvon knocked on the door again, she turned the locks and swung it open, seeing that he was just about to pick up one of her huge decorative path rocks.

"Don't be crying 'cause of me ma," He stood up, and wrapped her body up in a hug before she could stop him.

"How could you say that? You are so selfish. I don't want a hug, Dayvon." She grabbed his arms, but it was no use since he was much stronger than her.

"It wasn't like that ma. I'm sorry." He mumbled, not knowing what else to say or how he should excuse himself.

He didn't know what he was doing, but he knew that he wanted Dream more than anything else. That kiss with Kentrell confused the hell out of him, and he wished he could turn back time, but unfortunately, he couldn't.

"If you wanna go and kiss other girls, then do that. Just leave me alone. Why did you even come over here?" She still refrained from hugging him back, and he didn't respond. He didn't even have the guts to tell her that it wasn't a girl. That was already embarrassing enough as it was.

"I don't want nobody else. I'm sorry." He apologized once again, closing the door behind him by using his foot.

"I ain't wanna lie to you and have you find out from some stupid internet shit. That's why I told you. I ain't tell you to purposely hurt you, Nana."

"Don't call me that. It wouldn't even be a possibility of anybody being hurt if you would've never done it." She dropped her arms as they became sore from being bent in the same position for too long.

"I know. I fucked up, I know that. What can I do besides say sorry? Tell me how to fix it." He looked down at her, using his thumb to wipe her face, though she wasn't crying anymore.

"Nothing's broken. Get off of me Dayvon, I'm serious." She pulled herself out of his grip, then took a few steps back from him.

"Well? What did you come over for?" She frowned, keeping her gaze on him. There was literally no reason for him to be there.

"Dream I don't want n-,"

"I don't care about what you want, Dayvon! That doesn't matter now. You can't just 'only want me' after you've already kissed someone else! Go be with her and leave me alone." She raised her voice above her normal tone, now talking with her hands.

"Dream I didn't mean to do that shit. You don't understand ma," He ran his hand down his face, becoming aggravated-with himself, and with her.

"I don't care to understand. I just want to know why you're here? What do you want from me?" She folded her arms across her chest, unintentionally enhancing her boobs with a lift.

"Who is she? An ex? Or was I just fulfilling the place of someone else and now they're back?" She questioned, low-key sad at the mere possibility.

"I just told you I don't want nobody else besides you." He grabbed her hands, and she made sure she didn't let her eyes meet his as her frown slowly softened.

This was why she mostly stayed to herself. She didn't want people to ever know that she had a soft spot for them, because that was how you got yourself hurt. She thought she was smart enough to know that, but obviously, she wasn't.

"I'm sorry baby. I didn't mean to h-I know I can't fix it. This shit stupid and I been regretting it ever since I did it. All I think about is you, aight? I was thinking about you when I did it. I'm just a fuck up. I always fuck up. I been trying though." He mumbled the last part, and she quietly sniffed, keeping her head down.

"I like you. You know that I don't do this-and, like, date people and all that. I trusted you, Salem. This is why I don't do shit like this." She told him, letting him tilt her head back to look up at him again.

"I like you too. I fucked up. I won't do no goofy shit like that no more." He rubbed her face, and her heart rate picked up again once he leaned his head down to her level. She felt so stupid.

His fingers ran through her straight tresses as she allowed him to deepen the kiss, her eyes eventually fluttering closed. It didn't last long though because she ended up thinking about how he kissed another girl just like this, and here she was, just letting him have his way.

As his hands traveled lower, her breath hitched by a few seconds once he made it to her ass, grabbing a handful of it in his palm.

"Salem," She breathed against his lips, grabbing his hand just before he could reach between her legs.

"You can't fix things with sex, Dayvon. Is that why you came over? Expecting to be forgiven after having sex with me?" She asked, quietly.

"Wha-, no. No, Dream I wasn't tr-,"

"Can you leave? Please." She rubbed her arm, now slightly embarrassed. She didn't want to be labeled as easy, and she definitely wasn't going to have sex with him after what he'd done.

"Nana I wasn't trying to fuck you." He truthfully spoke, and she didn't respond, chewing the inside of her cheek.

He sighed to himself, rubbing his hand down his face as he opened the front door, dismissing himself. He wasn't trying to make her uncomfortable. Here he went again, fucking shit up, as usual.

Whatever.
