It's been a while since I've last seen a woman sitting on my couch. Isa was not one I visioned here. Not because I didn't want her here but because I never thought it was possible to even get her into my life in any way then enemies. This was a whole new level for me. Friends... that might become more but I'm not sure Isa is just ready yet to know I like her. For now I will take enough with having her sitting on my couch, watching the news while we eat take-out food. I was quietly looking at her from the kitchen as I poured myself something to drink. She's stunning. Her brown hair was straightened perfectly like always as she wore it behind her ear on the left and right side which was unusual because she usually only wears it behind her left ear. Those honey brown were fixcated on the television as the woman on the screen was talking about the weather. When I first met Isa, I thought her slime body was a result of her working out a lot at the gym... but as time passed I started to realize Isa doesn't go to the gym. She simply is too busy to go to the gym and is simply too bisy to eat sometimes. As well as that she always needs to go from A to B. Her law firm is a 5 minute walk from the court house so she always walks there to get her thoughts straight before she has to argue her way to victory. Sometimes I even feel bad for her. Her life seems so simple and easy but in reality it's the opposite. She has a hateful mother, a father who hates her mother for hating their daughter, a fulltime job, a wobly past, a man who needs her caring because his own family couldn't care less. She's so much stronger then everyone credits her. I sometimes feel sick of this world for having people, like her, carry the world on their shoulders. Out of nowhere Isa turns her head and looks at me with furowed brows before she begins laughing.
"George, I think your glass is full."
I look down and see my glass is overflowing with the yellow liquid of lemonade. A puddle formed around the glass indicating that it was overflowing for longer than a few seconds.
"Oops... that thing on tv was just too interesting."
"You mean the commercials? Wow... that's a first timer that someone finds those that interesting. But then again... there's a first time for everything right?"
"Very funny Isa. Wipe that smug grin of your face darling. It doesn't suit you."
"Really? It's my 'I won' smile in court... should I change it?"
I shake my head in dissapointment at her voice. The slight undertone in her voice giving away that it wasn't a real question. I flipped her off with a middle finger which got me a soft giggle out of her. I love the sound of her giggle and laugh.Β
"I'm going to Theo in a few minutes. Just so you know."
"Sure. Do you want me to drop you off?"
"No it's okay. I'll take the sub."
"The sub? Isa, it's 19:30. By the time you'll go home it won't be safe in the sub for you."
"why not? I always take the sub when I visit Theo."
"I'm driving you."
"Is it worth arguing?"
"Nope. I'm driving you that's the only outcome I will accept."
"Then I'll drive myself."
"That's fine too."
It's 23:30 when I wake up. The house is silent and I suddenly get the sense that something is off, something isn't right. I rub my eyes and climb out of my bed. I walk into the hallway and immediately I squint my eyes shut against the hallway lights. Isa must have forgotten to turn them off. I walk to the light switch when I notice her shoes and coat are still gone. I frown and walk to the front door. It's still unlocked. I walk to Isa her room and knock. No response. I knock again this time a little harder. Still no response. I push the door open and look around her room. It's empty. her stuff is laying there ready. her pyjama on the bed, her skincare on the make-up desk we bought her today. She isn't home yet and it's close to midnight. I run out of her room and to my bedroom. I grab my phone off the side table and pull the charger out of it. I quickly dial Isa's number and within seconds I hear her voice.
"Adelaide-Isadora's voicemail, leave a message after the beep."
I hang up the phone and curse.
"oh for fucks sake Isa!"
I dial the number again and get her voicemail again. I groan and curse again. Did something happen to her? Did she have a car accident? Did she get harrased by a man on the side walk? Did she get kidnapped? Suddenly I'm getting hot and I want to find her. No no want, I need to find her! I jump up from my bed where I had sat while calling her. I rush to the front door and pull on my shoes and a coat. I rush to the elevator and push the button but within the 10 seconds after I decide on the stairs because it's faster. I fly down the stairs and arrive in the garage hoping desperatly to find her there, parking her car. She isn't here... of course. I unlock my car and start the engine. I drive through the city looking around me everywhere I can to see her or her car. When I arrive at the center where Theo lives I see her car parked. I park next to it and look inside of it. She's not in there? Where can she be? I walk inside of the center and the woman behind the reception looks at me confused.
"Excuse me, sir. Visiting hours have finished 3 hours ago."
"I know, I'm sorry. I'm looking for Adelaide-Isadora... she said she would be visiting Theo. She hasn't come home yet and I can't reach her in her phone."
At the mentioning of the name, Theo, the receptionist lowers her vision...
