A small family sat outside on a bench, watching the cherry blossoms bloom beautifully and fall gracefully. The only sound heard was an old man telling a story and a little girl making action noise with her toys.
"And just before the giant mean teddy bear, Shredder, destroyed the village, the greatest weapon in the history of the Hamato Clan struck him in his cute fuzzy noseโboop!" Grandpa Shล tells the young black haired girl beside him, who was playing with a toy robot and an old teddy bear, playing out the story herself as she listened. "And sent them both to the Twilight Realm where they lived awfully ever after."
The little girl laughed a bit, putting her toys down to face him while she sat on her father's lap. Her eyes landed on the Hamato symbol on the scroll, her smile faltering slowly before facing her mother who sat beside her, looking at the Hamato symbol on her kimono.
"Mama?" The little girl spoke up quietly, watching her mother holding back tears. She breathed in, turning to face her daughter.
"Miwa. I'm sorry, dear, but mama has to go." She replied softly as she faced the little girl, her voice wavering, but managed to keep it in.
"No." Miwa teared up, getting on her knees and wrapping her arms around her mother's arms. "Who will hug me when I'm scared, Mama?" She asked, her voice shaky as she cried softly, her eyes already a bit puffy and red from the tears.
Her mother frowned, looking back at her Grandpa Shล, both of them having the same memories flowing back to them from someone they once knew. They can only hope she doesn't go down that same path.
Her husband took Miwa into his arms, holding her close without saying anything. He looked back at his wife who only frowned in return, wishing she could stay to be with her family, but she had a duty to fulfill. She leaned in and kissed her daughter's forehead, using her hand to move her head back.
"Anata Wa Hitori Janai." She whispered to the little girl, before moving up to kiss her husband goodbye. The man silently let out a tear. She pulled away slowly, looking over at her grandpa Shล, who she only gave him a nod as she stood up and made her way to where her own mother once stood.
Miwa got off her father's lap, reaching out to her mother with a sob, but was held in place by Grandpa Shล, memories of his grandson coming back, seeing the similarities between them. "No!"
Her mother now stood far from her family, turning to face her daughter and husband, but her words were directed to her daughter. "One day, you will understand the sacrifice we must make as Hamato." She said calmly, a small tear rolling down her cheek. "Be good to your father and Grandpa Shล. They have much to teach you.." she added before whispering her last words with a small smile. "I love you."
"Mama, No!" Miwa yelled out, trying to free herself from her great grandfather's grip, watching her mother disappear by a gentle storm of the cherry blossoms.
"Mama!"
"Miwa." Her great grandfather Shล spoke up, his grip loosening lightly since she was no longer running after her mother.
Miwa turned to him, her cheeks stained with tears that had dried up and more still falling down. Her eyes only widened more when hearing his next words, a sense of fear entering her body.
"You must follow her steps, and meet the same fate."

Present time.
"This has been the third time she's gotten into a fight, Mr. รztรผrk. We will not allow violence in this school. I'm sorry, but we're going to have to expel her."
"Please give her another chance, I promise it won't happen again."
"I apologize, but the decision was already made."
Miwa sat outside the principal office, listening to her father and the principal talking. She looked out the office window to see the student she had fought with at the nurses office, who had quite some bruises, a black eye and a bloody nose, which could have the possibly of being broken. She then glared down, her arms crossed and eyebrows furrowed down.
She jumped as soon as the principal door opened, only to see her father who seemed down. He turned to face her, his expression turning into one of disappointment, making her look away, feeling annoyed, but also out of guilt.
He sighed, gesturing to her to get up as he headed out the doors. She slowly did as told as she followed him out the main office and out the school doors with her hand grabbing onto the strap of her backpack. Both stayed as they made their way to the car and climbed inside, putting their seatbelts on. He didn't turn on the car and instead turned to face Miwa, frowning a bit.
He took a deep breath, gently grabbing onto the car's steering wheel, feeling somewhat awkward and nervous of talking to his daughter. He reluctantly craned his head up and turned to face her.
"Miwa." Emir spoke up quietly.
She flinched lightly, turning to him hesitantly, but never actually making any eye contact with him, ready for him to give her a scolding and possibly some argument between them. It can't get any worse than that.
"Don't worry, I'm not mad. But, I am disappointed." He says quietly
Nope, that was definitely worse.
"I'm sorry, baba." She muttered, looking down at him since he was much shorter, her eyebrows furrowed in annoyance. "I really tried to prevent a fight like you told me too, but the kid wouldn't stop bothering me. And the teachers wouldn't do anything--"
"I know, kid." He replied with a sigh, reaching for her hand to hold and gently caressing it with his thumb. "I just don't like to see you getting into fights. I'm afraid you'll get hurt at some point. This is the second school you've been expelled from." He scolds lightly, but never actually raising his voice.
Miwa couldn't help but feel much more guilty with her father's sweet actions, only causing her to furrow her eyebrows further more, knowing he could never be aggressive. At least she's never seen him be aggressive or angry. He's always been so calm and sweet. She still doesn't know why she expects him to argue with her if it has never happened.
"I know, I'm sorry." Miwa mumbled, finding some comfort with her father's touch.
"I know, and--of course you're sorry, you're always sorry." Emir replied, gently petting her hand. Miwa's eyebrows furrowed some more, feeling called out, but then her eyebrows were lifted eyebrows, not wanting her father to think she was mad at him.
"And you always do it all over again. You can't always resort to violence the moment a classmate of yours does something you don't like. You broke the girl's nose, Miwa, from some simple name calling. You need to start thinking before you act, just like your great grandfather Chลโ"
Miwa turned to him with an annoyed expression, almost glaring at him with the thought of him. "Don't talk about that old man."
Emir paused for a moment, frowning once more. "Right, sorry." He sighed, squeezing her hand softly as an apologetic gesture. "I just don't think you should be using your ninja skills to harm someone, or someone who called you some name. I want you to live a good life, not one where people see you as a delinquent. Does that make sense?"
What's the point if I'm going to die anyway? Miwa rested her head on her fist as she looked out the car window to look away from him. She felt incredibly bad about having looked at him in such a rude manner for a small insignificant thing. "Yes, baba. Sorry."
It's okay, dear." He replied in a soft tone.
"I'm guessing there aren't any schools left for me to go to?" Miwa asked in order to change the topic and make the conversation less awkward than it had already become.
"No, there's still one school left.." He mumbled, moving his hand away from hers and started the car.
"Really?" She asked, honestly having expected homeschooling to be his last choice to avoid getting into any trouble, but luck just wasn't on her side today. "What school am I going to now?"
เผบเผป
"Welcome to Roosevelt High School!"
Miwa internally groaned as she looked at the older woman below her who'd be giving her a tour, then looking at the school before turning to her father. He had managed to get her to another school nearby, and this one being the last option he had since he didn't want them moving to another place.
"Enjoy your day at school, okay?" He asked, hugging his daughter close with a sweet smile on his face. "No fighting anymore."
"Yes, baba. I know." She sighed, bending down a bit to hug him back and gently pat his back.
"No skipping class either."
"I know-"
"No drugs."
"Okay, okay, I get it." Miwa replied, stopping him before he could say anything else. "But I really have to go."
"Alright. I'll see you later at home." He smiled sweetly, letting go of his tall daughter. "Bye bye. Be nice, and maybe make a friend?"
"Sure, Baba. Bye." Miwa waved goodbye to her father as she followed the older woman into the school.
The school was like every other basic school, hallways crowded with students trying to get to class, and others with their group of friends and just talking.
Miwa felt self conscious as a few eyes were on her, everyone looking up at her. Of course the thing the would stand out to them was her height. There were still a few guys that were taller, but those were guys.
"How are you holding up, Miwa?" The woman asked.
"Uh, fine?" She replied, not really looking at her, but rather at the flyers at the walls or classroom numbers, trying to memorize the place to not get lost.
The school bell rings, signaling students must start heading to class in five minutes. A few students stick around and others walk to their destinations, to ensure they aren't late to their first class of the day.
"Oh dear.." the woman looked at the time. "I'm almost out of time. I have a teachers meeting to get to and you have to get to class." The woman mumbled, looking around the hallway crowded with students.
She grabbed the first student to look their way and called them over.
A dark skinned girl walked over a bit nervously, wondering if they had done something wrong. "Ah, Miss O'Neil, can you finish touring our new student and perhaps take her to her classes?"
"Huh?" April tilted her head to the side, a bit confused before giving the teacher a nod. "Uh, sure thing. Where are they?"
"April, meet Miwa." The woman gestured with her hands towards the blonde. April's head slowly craned upwards, his eyes widening with each second until she reached the girl's eyes. She was rather intimidating with her resting face.
Oh my gosh, she's huGE-
Wait no, this is my chance to make a friend! She's new after all! That means she mustn't have a friend yet. I must take advantage of this opportunity! It might never come again. And prove the guys I can make a friend.
That's a human.
"Uh, Nice to meet you. April, was it?" Miwa stretched her hand out for a handshake, hoping to snap April out of her own little world, to which she quickly shook to Miwa's surprise.
"Yes, nice to meet you too!" April exclaimed with a smile, growing excited at the thought of a gaining a new friend. A human friend. She immediately led the tall blonde around. "Let me take you to class!"
"Ah, alright." Miwa mumbled, caught off guard by the girl's sudden burst of excitement as she was dragged around.
"What class do you have first?" April asked, unable to stop the smile creeping onto her face.
"Biology." Miwa gave a brief response, not sounding as excited.
"Oh, well, seems like you're in luck. We have the same class." April responds, nudging her lightly with her elbow, making the tall blonde narrow her eyes at her. April immediately stopped, guessing she probably isn't really the touchy type.
Miwa looked away with furrowed brows, a feeling of guilt pooling in her chest. April was simply trying to be friendly, and she was only ruining it for her, and her dad did tell her to make a friend. Perhaps she should just be her friend. It might not last long anyway, but it'll definitely make her father happy.
She internally groaned, reluctant to speak up, but decided to go for it. "Do you think we can sit together in that class then?"
April beamed at once at the thought of having a lab partner finally, her smile brought back to her face. "Definitely!"
"Alright then." Miwa muttered, watching the dark skinned girl grow excited once more. Shes never seen someone being so happy to be her friend, much less a simple lab partner.
Shes weird, Miwa thought to herself.
"By the way, I like your hair." April compliments.
"Thanks." Miwa's replied, not having expected it, but it definitely felt nice. "I like your glasses.." She added, her glasses reminding her somewhat of cat eyes.
"Thanks!" April exclaimed.

Unfortunately, the biology teacher had given Miwa a project to do a few days after setting at the new school, and she was not happy with this of course. However, the good part is that she gets to work with a partner, and of course she'd choose her lab partner, April O'Neil.
"Your room?" Miwa asked as they entered April's apartment, her hand gripping onto the strap of her backpack.
"Yeah, let's go." She sighed, tired from school. She led her to her bedroom, which was somewhat messy. Miwa sat on the ground with her back facing the window, while April lied down on her bed, mostly to be facing each other as they think of something.
"So, do you have any ideas on what we should do for the science fair?" Miwa asked, pulling out her laptop from her bag and opening it, typing in her password and then going to the tab of the google docs with options of what they can do, thanks to their teacher.
"Maybe something simple. Keep it lowkey." She responds, looking over at her computer, her eyes gazing through the many choices.
"Yeah, I don't want to be talking to many people either." Miwa gives her a single nod.
April searched through her bag, searching for some blank paper to write down any ideas or to shorten the list on what they should do, but seemed to have run out.
"Man, I ran out of paper." April grumbles.
"Again?" Miwa asked, not really surprised. "Girl, I swear." She chuckled a bit, shaking her head and slowly turned to grab her bag again. "I have some in my bagโ"
"Nah, it's fine, I have some in my drawer. And a pencil." April waved it off, getting up from her bed to her desk. Miwa sighed, not really able to say no to her, so she simply let her do her thing as she looked around April's room.
Miwa's eyes widened when she had spotted a weird shadow figure approaching the window behind her. She moved away from the window's view silently, making sure whoever the figure wasโ No. Figures, didn't spot her.
She looked over at April who didn't seem to really pay any attention as she grabbed some papers and pencils that have to have a sharp led, then she looked beside her to see a baseball bat.
Miwa grabbed the sport equipment, gripping the handle tightly as she silently made her way beside the window, watching the figures come closer with each second. She lifted the bat over her shoulder, glaring at the shadow.
The window was slammed open, a green skinned creature coming into view, and ultimately scaring April for a moment by the unexpected surprise from the turtle brothers, who were all hanging on to each others leg, specifically the purple masked soft shell turtle, as he flew over to her with the rotors of his battle shell. "Salutations, Fair Aprilโ"
BAM
Miwa swung the baseball bat over at the purple masked turtle, throwing him out the apartment window with wide eyes, in clear shock of what she just saw. "What was that?!"
April almost fainted at the scene (but kinda expected it from Miwa by now). "Oh my god, Donnie!" She ran over to the window to check on him and his brothers, seeing how all of his brothers are lying beneath him, groaning.
Miwa was confused. April knows these creatures? She reluctantly stuck her head out the window to see the four turtles on the ground. "I think I hit them too hard."
"Nah, you didn't hit 'em hard enough." April hummed, looking down at them. "You can't just sneak up on a girl like that! Ya' couldn't even shoot a text or call?!"
"Sorry, April!" The orange masked turtle yelled from below.
"Are they friends of yours?" Miwa questioned, looking over at her dark skinned friend with a raised a brow.
"Yeah." She sighed, wondering what she was thinking and grew nervous. What if she weirded out? What if she didn't want to be friends anymore because of this? What ifโ
"Cool." Miwa grinned, crossing her arms as she crossed her arms. "I mean, I wouldn't have expected frogs though- oh, wait, those are turtles.." April was a bit surprised by this but then laughed softly. Miwa smiled a bit as soon as she saw April smile, the nice feeling returning. Perhaps April had rubbed in on her after all.
It was definitely a weird feeling for Miwa. One where she felt warm inside. She closed her eyes for a moment and pushed those feelings away, not wanting to get close yet. It won't last. She opened her eyes and pointed outside the window. "Alright, now what do we do with these, uh, friends of yours?"
"Usually I'd help them. But.." April looked over at the work they had in front of them, and then the turtles. "They kinda deserved it."
"For real?" She questioned.
"Yeah, you can get to know them later." April shrugged, going back to her bed. "Let's come up with some project ideas."
"Ight."

"OH MI GOSHโYOU'RE HUGE!"
Michelangelo screeched as he looked up at Miwa, the eldest brother catching him before he could fall (or possibly faint). The rest just looked up at her surprised, especially Raphael, since this was his first time having to look up at someone. "I don't know what they've been feeding her--but she's too darn big!"
"Initiate plan-H!" Raphael quickly whispered to his brothers, their backs facing both girls before turning face to face with Miwa.
"Um, excuse me, m'lady. Can you direct us to the local science fiction convention that we are currently dressed for?" Leo used a fake and exaggerated nerdy voice, to which made Miwa cringe, looking somewhat annoyed.
"Snazzy alien turtle outfits, huh?" Michelangelo added, doing the same voice.
Before anyone could continue, Miwa stopped them, having gained second hand embarrassment from watching them. "No! No more of that, I can't handle it. April already told me about you guys."
"Oh." Donatello muttered, looking up at her. "I suppose since you are aware of who we are, that means you won't inform the world of who we are?"
"Yeah sure, I mean who's going to believe me if I say 'hey guys, I just saw four humanoid turtles that can talk!' Bam, mental hospital." Miwa explained, somewhat in a joking manner. But it wasn't a joke, everyone would think she was crazy.
"Precisely." Donatello nods in agreement with a grin, standing confidently with his tech-bล in his hand. "Although, the correct and more accurate term would be an asylum."
Miwa scowled slightly, realizing he was probably the nerd out of the four brothers. He was definitely going to get on her nerves. "Whatever you say, nerd."
"I-"
"Oh-ho-ho! I like her!" Leonardo laughs, having appeared behind Miwa and was looking at his twin over the girl's shoulder. He was hanging onto her shoulders. She shoved him off her.
"Don't touch me." She sneered, making him back off with a grin.
"Oh, feisty-"
"I will shove my foot up your scaly-"
"These are my friends, Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello and Michelangelo." April cut her off before Miwa could finish her sentence, quick to introduce her friends and pointed at each one of them as she said their names.
Hm, their names are too long. Miwa thought to herself and then shrugged, crossing her arms in the process with an indifferent expression. "Alright. I'm Miwa."
"Cool." Leonardo replied with a grin of his own before Donatello spoke up and turned to April.
"So, April. We wanted to ask if we could use the keys to the roof from the pool place you work at so we can preform our cannonball stunt for tomorrow night." Donatello adds, one hand over his hip and the other holding onto his tech-bล staff.
"Oh, uh." April paused, looking between them and her new friend Miwa. She would love to see her turtle friends preform a stunt as usual, but she also wanted to hang with Miwa, her first human friend. She huffed and turned to Donatello with a smile. "Sure."
"Oh, yeah!" Leonardo cheered, along with the others.
"But Miwa has to come too." April adds.
They stopped cheering, and Miwa seemed to be confused too. "I don't think I ever agreed--"
"Please?" April pleads, looking up at her with a grin.
Miwa looked at her momentarily, then back at the turtles. "I'm down, only if your friends are fine with it."
"Can we invite her too, please?" Michelangelo asked with a bright smile, looking up to his brothers.
Donatello sighed, looking at Raphael with Leonardo, all three brothers and the two girls looking for his approval. Raphael smiled and responds. "Raph's happy with that."
Did he just speak in third person? Miwa wondered, finding it weird and then spoke up. "Cool."
"See you all there tomorrow, guys." April smiles, pushing the turtles out her apartment so she could be alone with Miwa once more to work on their project (mostly just to hang out with her).
"You have interesting friends." Miwa muttered, pulling her phone out and scrolling through her social media. "They're kind cool."
"Wait till you see what they do tomorrow!"
"Can't wait."
